10b. நந்தியின் வெகுளி.

“நீயா முதல்வனாகிய நான்முகன்?
நீயே அறிவித்தாய் வேள்வியைப் பற்றி

நீறணிந்து பிச்சை எடுக்கும் சிவனிடம்.
நீ வணங்கி அமர்த்தினாய் நந்தியை!

என் தந்தை என்பதால் பிழைத்தாய்
அன்றேல் தலை தனியாகி இருக்கும்!

சுடலையில் பேய் பூதக் கூட்டத்துடன்
நடனமாடும் சிவனுக்கு அவிர்பாகமா?

நெடுமாலுக்கு அளிப்போம் அவிர்பாகம்
நடமாடும் பித்தனுக்கு அளிக்காதே அதை!”

போற்றும் பிரானைப் பற்றித் தக்கன்
சாற்றிய மொழி துளைத்தது செவிகளை.

காதுகளைக் கைகளால் மூடினார் நந்தி.
சாது மிரண்டால் காடு கொள்ளாது!

நந்தியின் சினத்தால் நடுங்கியது உலகு.
நான்முகனும், திருமாலும் கலங்கினர்.

“உமையொரு பாகனை இகழ்ந்தாய் நீ!
உன்னைக் கொல்வேன் நீ மேலும் வைதால்!

சிவனைப் பழிப்பவன் தலை சேதமாகுக!
சிவனை மதியாதவர் செல்வம் அழிக!

உன்னைச் சேர்ந்த தேவர்கள் நெடுநாள்
துன்புறுக சூரபத்ம அவுணனிடம்!”எனப்

பற்பல சாபங்கள் இட்டார் நந்தி தேவர்.
பிற்பாடு திரும்பினார் கயிலையங்கிரி.

6#10b. Nandi’s rage

“You went and informed about the yagna to Siva. you invited him. You gave a seat of honor to Nandhi. You are my father or else your head would have rolled down!

Siva dances with the ganans and demons in the cremation ground and you made him as the prime deity of the yagna. Offer the havis to Vishnu and not to the mad beggar Siva!”

On hearing these vile words, Nandhi shivered with rage. The anger of a good person is unbearable! The whole world shivered with fear. Brahma and Vishnu were upset with these developments.

Nandhi told Dakshan,”If you say one more about Siva, I will kill you. May he who ridicules Siva lose his head. May the wealth of the one who speaks ill of Siva be destroyed. May all the DevaAS who took part in this unholy yagna suffer in the hands of the asuras and Soorapadman for a very long time!”

Nandhi cast many such curses. He then returned to Kailash with his group of ganas.

VENKATESA PURAANAM

26d. விஸ்வரூபம்

” இந்த முறை உதவுகிறேன் தொண்டைமான்
இன்னொரு முறை நடக்கக் கூடாது இது போல!

உடல்களைக் கொண்டு வா என் சன்னதிக்கு!” என
உடல்களைக் கொண்டு கிடத்தினான் சன்னதியில்.

“உயிர்ப்பித்துத் தருவாய் மீண்டும் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா!
உயிர்ப் பிச்சை தருவாய் குற்றவாளி எனக்கும்!”

பாத்திரத்தில் இருந்து பகவான் எடுத்துத் தெளித்த
தீர்த்தத்தினால் உயிர் பெற்றனர் தாயும், சேயும்.

எழுந்தனர் தூக்கத்தில் இருந்து எழுவது போல;
விழுந்தனர் வியப்புக் கடலில் அதைக் கண்டவர்.

“பட்டினியால் மெலிந்து நலிந்த மகன் இப்போது
பட்டொளி வீசி ஜொலிப்பது எப்படி?” என்றாள்.

“சரணடைந்தேன் ஸ்ரீனிவாசநிடம் நான் – அவன்
அரவணைத்து உயிர்ப்பித்தான் தன் கருணையால்!”

அவளும் தொழுதாள் பகவான் பாதங்களை;
“அருளுங்கள் என்றும் குறையாத பக்தியை!”

“நித்தியவாசம் செய்வேன் நாடி வருபவருக்கு!
சத்தியமாக உதவுவேன் தேடி வருபவர்களுக்கு!”

பகவான் மார்பில் தோன்றி மறைந்தன
லோகங்கள் பதினான்கும், கடல்கள் ஏழும்!

அழைத்து வந்தனர் கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவை அங்கு,
அடைந்தான் ஆச்சரியம் அவர்களைக் கண்டு.

‘இத்தனை வனப்புள்ளவளா என் மனைவி?
இத்தனை தேஜஸ் உடையவனா என் மகன்?’

“மறுபிறவி எடுத்து வந்துள்ள்ளோம் நாங்கள்!
மறவோம் என்றும் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் கருணையை!”

விளங்கவில்லை ஒன்றும் கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவுக்கு;
விளக்கினான் அனைத்தையும் தொண்டைமான்.

ஊர் திரும்பும் அந்தணனுக்கு அளித்தான் அவன்
சீர் போலப் பொன்னும், மணியும், பல பரிசுகளும்.

VENKATESA PURAANAM

#26d. Viswaroopam

“I will help you this time. But make sure such a thing will never be repeated in the future. Bring those two bodies here to my sannadi” Sreenivaasan told ThoNdaimaan.

The bodies were brought to the temple and laid before Sreenivaasan. ThoNdaimaan begged him, “Please resurrect them O Lord. Please grant me life by bringing them back to life!”

Srinivaasan sprinkled some water on the mother and her son. They woke up as if from deep sleep. The mother wondered on seeing her infant son,”He was so hungry and famished before. He seems to be hale and healthy now!”

ThoNdaimaan told her, “Srinivaasan took pity on you and resurrected you and your son” The lady prayed to God for undiminished bhakti .

Srinivaasan promised her,”I shall live here for the sake of my devotees. I shall always protect and save them” The fourteen worlds and the seven seas appeared on the chest of Srinivaasan. Then they disappeared from their sight.

Krishna sharma was brought there. He was wonder struck at the beauty of his wife and the tejas of his son. His wife told him, “We have taken a new birth now. We have been blessed by lord Srinivaasan.” Her husband could not make head or tail of this news.

ThoNdaimaan explained to him everything that had happened, He showered gold, gemstones and many costly gifts on Krishna sharma when he went home with his wife and son.

6#19b. சங்கமம்

மோக லீலைக்குத் தயாரானது ஆண் குதிரை ;
மோக லீலையை விரும்பியது பெண் குதிரை.

கருத்தொருமித்தன காம வேகத்தினால்;
கலந்து மயங்கின; காமத்தில் முயங்கின!

புத்திரப்பேறு உண்டானது பெண் குதிரைக்கு;
“புத்திரனை விட்டுத் திரும்புவோம் வைகுந்தம்!”

அழைத்தான் லக்ஷ்மியைத் தன்னுடன் விஷ்ணு;
விழையவில்லை லக்ஷ்மி குழவியைப் பிரிந்திட.

சுய உருவம் திரும்பி விட்டது இருவருக்கும்;
தூய விமானம் ஒன்று வந்தது விண்ணிலிருந்து.

“குறை ஒன்றும் வராது நம் பிள்ளைக்கு;
நிறைவேறும் பல அற்புதங்கள் இவனால்.

நூறாண்டு காலமாகத் தவம் செய்கின்றான்
துர்வசு என்னும் மன்னன் யயாதியின் குமாரன்!

வரவழைக்கின்றேன் அவனை இந்த இடத்துக்கு;
அரவணைத்து வளர்ப்பான் தன் சொந்த மகனாக!”

சமாதானம் செய்தான் லக்ஷ்மியை விஷ்ணு;
விமானத்தில் அழைத்து சென்றான் லக்ஷ்மியை.

திரும்பினர் வைகுந்தம் லக்ஷ்மியும், விஷ்ணுவும் – சிசு
விருப்புடன் காத்திருந்தது தன் வளர்ப்புத் தந்தைக்காக.

6#19b. The Sangamam

The male horse was ready for the union. The mare was eagerly yearning for the union. They were happy to become two bodies and one soul.

The female horse conceived and delivered a son as great as Vishnu himself. Vishnu wanted to return to Vaikuntham leaving behind the new born baby - but Lakshmi would not agree to part with the child.

Lakshmi and Vishnu regained their original glorious forms. A vimaanam came down and landed to transport them back to Vaikuntham. Lakshmi Devi was still hesitating to go back leaving behind her new born son.

Vishnu told her,”No harm can befall out son. He will perform great wonders and achieve great things on earth. Turvasu – the son of Yayaati – has been doing penance wishing a good son for over one hundred years. I will make him come here. He will bring up our son as his very own.”

Lakshmi Devi got consoled and agreed to return to Vaikuntham with Vishnu on the vimaanam. The new born child lay there on the ground eagerly awaiting the arrival of the king who would adopt him.

11. தக்கனின் வேள்வி.

வேள்விகள் நின்று போயின முற்றிலுமாக.
வேள்விகள் செய்ய அஞ்சினர் சாபத்தால்.

“வேள்வியை மறந்தது ஏன்?” தக்கன் வினவ,
“வேள்வியை விடுத்தது நந்தியின் சாபத்தால்!”

“வேள்வியை விடக் கூடாது நாம் அச்சத்தால்
வேள்வியைச் செய்கின்றேன் நானே முதலில்!”

விஸ்வகர்மனிடம் பணித்தான் தக்கன்,
“விசேஷ யாகசாலை அமைத்திடுவாய்!”

கங்கைக் கரையில் அமைந்தான் சீரிய
மங்கலம் பொருந்திய பெரிய யாகசாலை.

முனிவர்களைப் பின் அழைத்தான் தக்கன்,
பணித்தான் வேள்விப் பொருட்கள் திரட்ட.

சங்க நிதி, பத்ம நிதி, காமதேனு மற்றும்
சிந்தாமணி, ஐந்தருக்களை அழைத்தான்.

முனிவர் அளித்தனர் அறுசுவை உண்டி.
முனிவர் அளித்தனர் வேண்டியவற்றை.

“அனைவருக்கும் அனுமதி - சிவனைத் தவிர!
அனைவருக்கும் நல்வரவு - சிவனைத் தவிர”

முறைப்படித் தொடங்கியது தக்கன் வேள்வி.
மூன்று மனைவியருடன் வந்தான் தக்கன்.

வந்தனர் இந்திரன், அயிராணி, அரம்பையர்,
ருத்திரர், ஆதித்தர், திக்குப் பாலகர்கள்.

மருத்துவர், இயக்கர், வசுக்கள்,
சித்த வித்யாதரர், கதிரவன், மதி.

மாலும், பிரமனும் மணியணையில் அமர
மறைகள் ஒலித்தன; தூதுவர் திரும்பினர்.

முனிவர்கள் சிலர் வரவில்லை வேள்விக்கு!
என உரைத்தனர் தக்கனிடம் தூதுவர்கள்.

6#11. Dakshan’s yagna.

The yagnaas stopped completely. People were afraid to perform yagnaas due to the fear of Nandhi’ saapam.

Dakshan asked,”Why have the yagnaas been discontinued?” The reply was,” We are afraid of Nandhi’s curse.”

Dakshan told them, “We should not stop the yagnaas due to fear. I will myself revive the yagnaas!”

He ordered Viswakarma to prepare a huge and auspicious yaagasaalaa. It was setup in the banks of river Ganges.

Dakshan told the rushis to collect the things needed for the yaagaaa. Kamadhenu, Sankha nidhi, Padma nidhi and Cinthamani were ordered to give the things necessary for the yaagaa. Everyone was welcomed except Siva. Every could attend except Siva.

Dakshan came to the yaagaa with his three wives. Indra, Indraani, apsaras, Rudras, Adithyaas, dikpaalakaas, yakshas, vasus, sidhdhas, vidhyaadaraas, the sun and the moon arrived.

Brahma and Vishnu sat on the gem studded simhaasanaa.
The Vedas were chanted. The messengers returned and told that some of the rishis had ignored the yaaga.

27a. மண் பூக்கள்

முதிர்ந்து விட்டது வயது தொண்டைமானுக்கு;
முன்போல் சுமக்க முடியவில்லை ராஜ்யபாரம்.

நாடியது மனம் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுடன் இருப்பதையே;
தேடின கண்கள் ஸ்ரீனிவாசனின் திருவுருவத்தை!

முடி சூட்டினான் மகனுக்கு அடுத்த மன்னனாக;
விடை பெற்றான் அன்பு மனைவியிடமிருந்து.

ஆனந்த நிலையத்தில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடன்
ஆராதனை, பூஜைகள் செய்தான் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு.

மாறுபாடு தெரிந்தது ஸ்ரீனிவாசனிடம் – அவன்
வேறுபட்டு நின்றான் கற்சிலையாக இப்போது.

அளவளாவுவான் முன்பு அழைத்த போதெல்லாம்;
அழைத்த போதிலும் வருவதே இல்லை இப்போது.

“பிழை என்ன செய்துவிட்டேன் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா? கூறும்
அழைத்தாலும் நீங்கள் வாராததின் காரணம் எனக்கு!

பக்தியில் குறை ஏறபட்டு விட்டதா கூறுவீர்!
பழிகளில் இருந்து காத்தீரே முன்பெல்லாம்!”

கல்லாகவே நின்றான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் அப்போதும்;
சொல்லொன்றும் கூறவே இல்லை இப்போதும்.

அர்ச்சனை செய்தான் அன்றலர்ந்த மலர்களால்;
அடையவில்லை அவை இறைவன் பாதங்களை!

மண்ணால் செய்யப்பட மணமற்ற மலர்களே
அண்ணலின் இரு பாதங்களை அலங்கரித்தன!

“மணம் வீசும் புது மலர்களை நிராகரித்து விட்டு
மணமில்லாத மண்மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்பது ஏன் ”

பாதங்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு படுத்து விட்டான்!
“பாராமுகம் ஏன்?” என அழுதான், எழவே இல்லை.

மனம் இளகிவிட்டது ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு – வாய் திறந்து
“இனிப் போதும் நீ அழுதது, எழுந்திரு!” என்றான்.

#27a. The Clay flowers

ThoNdaimaan had become very old. He was unable to bear the burden of his kingdom. He wished to spend all his remaining time in the company of Srinivaasan.

He crowned his son as the new king and took leave of his dear queen. He went to Aananda Nilayam and spent his time there in pooja and aaraadhana of his favorite god.

Soon he noticed many changes in the behavior of Srinivaasan. Previously he would appear and converse with ThoNdaimaan whenever he was called. Now a days he remained silent as a statue and did not respond to ThoNdaimaan.

ThoNdaimaan could not understand the cause for this change. “Is there anything wrong with my bhakti or poojaa or aaraadhanaa?” The fresh fragrant flowers he used for the archanai did not reach the lord’s feet.

Flowers made of clay were found upon his lotus feet . What were they and whence they came from were beyond his knowledge.

He caught hold of Srinivaasan’s feet and started shedding tears. “What is the crime I have committed? Why have you become so indifferent to me?” He kept on crying until Srinivaasan’s heart melted with sympathy.

He broke his silence and talked to ThoNdaimaan, “Enough of crying now. Please get up and tell me what is the matter!”

6#20. ஏக வீரன்

மீண்டனர் திருமாலும், திருமகளும்,
மீண்டும் தம் வைகுண்ட லோகத்துக்கு.

வித்யாதரன் சம்பகன் வந்தான் விமானத்தில்;
உத்யானவனத்தில் மனைவியோடு சல்லாபிக்க.

லக்ஷ்மியின் மகனைக் கண்டது வாரி எடுத்து
லக்ஷணமான மனைவிக்கு அளித்தான் பரிசாக.

பறந்து சென்றனர் விமானத்தில் அவர்கள்
பிறந்த குழந்தையையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு.

“இந்திரன் அறிவான் இது யார் குழந்தை என்று!”
இந்திரனிடம் சென்றனர் இருவரும் நேராக.

“காளிந்தி, தமஸா நதிகளின் சங்கமிக்கும் இடத்தில்
கண்டெடுத்தோம் இந்த அழகிய குழந்தையை யாம்!”

“குதிரை வடிவெடுத்த மாலுக்கும் லக்ஷ்மிக்கும்
புதிதாகப் பிறந்த பாலகன் ஆவான் இவன்.

தவம் செய்கின்றான் யயாதியின் மகன் துர்வசு
தவம் பலிக்க விட்டுச் சென்றனர் குழந்தையை.

கிடத்திவிடுங்கள் குழந்தையை அதே இடத்தில்;
கிடைக்கட்டும் துர்வசுவுக்குத் தவப் பயனாக!”

தரிசனம் தந்தார் திருமால் துர்வசுவுக்கு
“தவத்தால் மகிழ்ந்தேன்; வரம் தந்தேன்;

காளிந்தி தமஸா நதிகளின் சங்கமத்தில்
காண்பாய் லக்ஷ்மியின் திருக் குமாரனை!

அளித்தோம் உனக்குத் தவப் பயனாக;
வளர்ப்பாய் அவனை அன்புடன் மகனாக!”

விரைந்து சென்றான் அரசன் சங்கமத்துக்கு;
உரைத்தபடியே கண்டான் அழகிய மகனை.

வாரி அணைத்தான் திருமகள் திருமகனை
வளர்த்தான் ஏக வீரன் என்னும் பெயரிட்டு.

6#20. Eka Veeran

Lakshmi and Vishnu returned to Vaikuntham. A Vidhyaadaran came in a vimaanam with his wife to indulge in an amorous play on earth.

He saw the baby left behind by Lakshmi and Vishnu. He became very happy at the beauty and tejas of the child. He took it up and presented it to his wife lovingly.

They were curious to know whose child it was. Since Indra knew everything happening on the earth, they went straight to him and asked him about the parents of the child.

Indra said, “This is the son born to Lakshmi and Vishnu when they had assumed the forms of two horses. They had left behind the child as a gift to Turvasu the son of King Yayaati. Please take back the child and leave it where you had found him.”

The child was taken back and left where it was found. Vishnu appeared in front of Turvasu and blessed him saying,

“I am pleased with your penance. I wish to give you the son you wanted. Go to the sangamam of KaaliNdi and Tamasa rivers.You will find the son of Lakshmi there. Adopt him and bring him up as your own son.”

Turvasu went to that place and saw the child. He adopted him and named him as Eka Veeran. He brought him up with all the royal privileges.

12a. ததீசி வந்தார்

தம்மைப் பல முனிவர்கள் சூழ்ந்து வர
ததீசி வந்தார் அந்த யாக சாலைக்கு.

இருத்தினான் ததீசியை இருக்கையில்
இருபுறங்களிலும் மற்ற முனிவர்களை.

“என்ன காரணத்திற்காக நீ அழைத்தாய்?”
சொன்னான் தக்கன் நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சிகளை.

மகள் திருமணம் சிவனுடன் நடந்ததை,
மண நிகழ்ச்சியில் சிவன் மறைந்ததை,

மகளைக் களவாக அழைத்துச் சென்றதை,
மகளைக் காண கயிலை சென்றதை,

பூதர் தன்னைப் பலவாறு இகழ்ந்ததை,
பூதர் உள்ளே நுழையாமல் தடுத்ததை,

நந்தி நான்முகன் வேள்விக்கு வந்ததை,
நந்தியிடம் அவிசு கொடாமல் தடுத்ததை,

நந்திதேவன் சினந்து சாபம் அளித்ததை,
நான்முகன் வேள்வியை நிறுத்தி விட்டதை!

“ஐயம் ஏற்று உண்ணும் சிவனின் அவியை
ஐயம் திரிபற மாற்றுவதற்காக வேள்வி.

அனைவருக்குமுண்டு அனுமதி, நல்வரவு
சினத்தை எரியூட்டிய சிவனைத் தவிர!”

6#12a. Dadeechi arrives!

Dadeechi arrived with his disciples. Dakshan offered them seats. Dadeechi wished to know why Dakshan had called him. Dakshan related the recent happenings…the wedding of his daughter with Siva, the sudden disappearance of Siva during the wedding ceremony, Siva’s taking away his daughter secretly, his visit to Kailash, the way he was insulted by the Siva ganas, the yaga performed by Brahma, Nandhi attending it as Siva’s representative, Dakshan stopping Siva’s share of the havisu being given to Nandhi and the curses laid by Nandhi.

He concluded thus, “Now my aim is to prove that Siva the one who begs for his food is not fit to be the god of yagna. I invite and welcome everyone except Siva who has made me angry!”

27b. பீமாவரம் பீமன்

“மௌனம் கழிய இத்தனை நேரமா உமக்கு?”என,
“சௌகரியமாக நீ வாழலாம் உன் அரண்மனையில்!

வருத்திக் கொள்கிறாய் அனாவசியமாக உன்னையும்;
வருத்துகின்றாய் அனாவசியமாக என்னையும்!” என்றான்

“வெறுப்பு ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது உலக வாழ்வில் எனக்கு;
நறுமண மலர்களால் நான் அர்ச்சிக்கின்றேன் ஆனால்

மணம் வீசும் என் மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்பதில்லை;
மணமற்ற மண் மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்கின்றீர்கள்!

குறை ஏற்பட்டு விட்டதா என்னுடைய பக்தியில் ?
குறை ஏற்பட்டதா என்னுடைய ஆராதனையில் ?

ஆனந்த நிலையத்தை அமைத்திட உழைத்தேன்;
அடுத்த சேவையை சிந்தித்துக் கொண்டுள்ளேன்!

பக்தி நிலவுகிறது என் மூச்சுக் காற்றில் கலந்து;
பக்தியை வெளிப்படுத்த முடியுமா இதை விட?”

கலகலவென நகைத்தான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் இப்போது;
“கலப்படம் இல்லாதது உன் பக்தி என்று அறிவேன்!

இருக்கின்றது உன்னுடைய மனதில் ஓர் இறுமாப்பு;
இவை அனைத்தும் செய்தவன் நானே என்ற கருத்து.

ஆணவம் அகன்றால் மட்டுமே ஐக்கியம் சித்திக்கும்.
காண விரும்பினால் உடனே செல்வாய் பீமாவரம்!

மயங்காமல் கண்டால் மனதுக்குத் தெரியும்
குயவனும், மனைவியும் கொண்டுள்ள பக்தி!”

தொண்டைமான் சென்றான் பீமாவரத்துக்கு;
கண்டு கொண்டான் குயவன் பீமன் வீட்டை.

27b. Beemaavaram Beeman

“It took you so long to break your silence!” ThoNdaiman was both happy and sad at the same time.

Srinivasan told him,” You can spend the rest of your life in the comforts of your palace. I do not know why you want to live here and suffer and also keep bothering me all the time!”

ThoNdaimaan told him, “I have lost all interest in life. I do archanai with fresh fragrant flowers and yet you prefer those clay flowers to my fresh flowers. What is lacking in my devotion? What is wrong with my pooja and aaraadhanaa?

I have built Aanandha Nilayam overcoming so many problems. Even now I am thinking on what next to do for you. Bhakti bhaavam has merged with the air I breathe. How else can I show my devotion to you?”

Sinivaasan had a hearty laugh. “I know that your bhakti is pure and unadulterated. But You still have akankaaram. You still think that all these were done by you. Only when your karthruthva bhaavam vanishes from your mind, your merging with me will become possible.”

Go to Beemaavaram and visit the hut of the pot maker Beeman and his wife. You will understand what is pure and unadulterated bhakti.”

ThoNdaiman left for Beemaavaram and located the hut of Beeman. He felt appalled at the sight of dire poverty prevailing there. God prefers simplicity. God prefers humility. God does not care for pomp and show.

6#21a. யசோவதி (1)

நன்கு வளர்த்தான் துர்வசு மகன் ஏகவீரனை!
அன்புடன் பயிற்றுவித்தான் ஆய கலைகளை.

முதுமை எய்திவிட்டான் துர்வசு இப்போது;
புதிய மன்னனாக ஆக்கினான் ஏகவீரனை.

ஒப்படைத்தான் ராஜ்ஜியத்தை ஏகவீரனிடம்,
அர்ப்பணித்தான் வாழ்க்கையைத் தவநெறிக்கு.

மைனாக மலையில் மனைவியோடு தவம் செய்து
மெய்யருளால் சென்றடைந்தான் சுவர்க்க லோகம்.

சுற்றித் திரிந்தான் அமைச்சரோடு ஏகவீரன்;
சற்றும் திகட்டவில்லை கங்கைக் கரையின் அழகு

ரசித்தான் இணையற்ற இயற்கையின் எழில் கண்டு
சிரித்தான் துள்ளிப் பாயும் புள்ளி மான்களை கண்டு,

பல நிறப் பறவைகள் பாடி மகிழ்வித்தன – கனிகளும்
மலர்களும், மரங்களும் கண்களைக் குளிர்வித்தன.

கண்டான் மலர்ந்து மணம் பரப்பும் தாமரையை;
கண்டான் அலமந்து அழும் அழகிய பெண்ணை.

தாமரை முகம், கருவண்டுக் கண்கள் இரண்டு,
ஆதவனின் நிறத்துடன், கருமணல் கூந்தலுடன்.

காரணம் கேட்டான் கண்ணீர் பெருக்குவதற்கு;
பூரண அபயம் உறுதி அளித்தான் அவளுக்கு.

“ரைப்பியர் என்று ஒரு அரசர் உள்ளார்
ருக்குமரேகை அவரது அன்பு மனைவி;

கற்பில் சிறந்தவள், அழகில் சிறந்தவள்,
பெற்றிலள் தனக்கென ஒரு குழந்தையை.”

6#21a. Yasovati (1)

Turvasu brought up Ekaveeran well and taught him everything a king had to know. When he became old, he crowned Ekaveeran as the new king and went off with his wife for vana vaassam. He and his
queen did penance in Mainaaka parvathm and attained swargga lokam.



Ekaveeran roamed about accompanied by is ministers. He never got tired of the beauty of nature. He enjoyed the scenic beauty of the nature. He wondered at the leaping gazelles.

He enjoyed the songs of many birds forming an orchestra. The trees were laden with flowes and fruits. He saw the lotus flowers in full bloom. He also saw a pretty lotus faced girl in tears.


She had two black eyes like two buzzing bees and hair resembled the black sand in the river banks. He asked her the reason for her copious tears. He gave her abahayam.


The girl said,”There is a king named Raibyar. Rukmarekha is his virtuous queen, She is chaste and beautiful but did not have a child on her own.

12b. ததீசியின் பதில்.

தக்கன் உரையைக் கேட்ட முனிவர்
பற்கள் தெரிய பலமாக நகைத்தார்.

“உலகின் தன்னிகரில்லாத தனிப்பெரும்
தலைவனை இகழ்ந்தோ இவ்வேள்வி?”

வேள்வியின் தலைவன் சிவன் அல்லவா?
வேறு எவருக்கு உண்டு அந்தத் தகுதி?

தீயின் முதல்வன், வேள்வியின் தலைவன்,
நீ அறியாயோ சிவ பெருமான் என்று?

உயிர்களின் தலைவன் சிவன் என்பதை
உலகம் முழுவதும் நன்கு அறியும்.

மாயையில் அழுந்தி உள்ளாய் நீ!
தீயவற்றை நாடிச் செய்கின்றாய்.

துன்பத்தை நாடி வேள்வி ஒன்றினைச்
செய்வரோ எவரேனும் உன்னை அன்றி!

மறை மொழியை விலக்கிச் செய்தால்
நிறைவு பெறாது செய்யும் வேள்வி!

சிவன் ஆணையால் அழியும் வேள்வி!
சிவனைப் பணியாதவர் அழிந்து படுவர்.”

6#12b. Dadeechi’s reply.

Dadeeechi laughed out aloud showing his teeth.

“Are you doing this yagna just to insult Siva, the lord second to none? Siva is the god of all yagaas. Who else is qualified for that?

He is the lord of Fire. He is the lord of Yagna. He is the lord of creation. Everyone knows this.

You are steeped in Maayaa! You wantonly do forbidden things. Will anyone do yagna just to reap ill effects and sin?

If you do yagna disobeying the Veda, this yaaga will not be completed.
Siva’s anger will destroy it. He who challenges Siva will be destroyed!”

27c. வைகுந்தம்

இருக்கும் இடத்திலேயே இருந்தனர்;
இருந்த வேலைகளைச் செய்தனர்.

இருந்தது மனம் இறை திருவடிகளில்;
இருந்து பக்தி மட்டும், இல்லை கர்வம்!

கோவில் கட்டவில்லை – வசதி இல்லை
உற்சவம் நடத்தவில்லை – வசதி இல்லை

மனத்தால் பூஜிக்கின்றனர் இடைவிடாது!
பணத்தால் பூஜித்ததை இடைவிடாமல்

நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது மடத்தனம்.
அனைத்தையும் செய்பவன் இறைவனே!

சர்வமும் செய்து கொள்பவன் அவனே!
சர்வமும் செய்விப்பவனும் இறைவனே!

கர்த்ருத்வம் தந்திருந்தது கர்வத்தை.
கர்வம் அகன்றது; கண்கள் திறந்தன!

மாயை விலகியது, அறிவு துலங்கியது
தூய பக்தரை விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.

“மண் மலர்களைக் கண்டேன் ஆலயத்தில்
மண மலர்களை விடப் பாதங்கள் அருகில்.”

“விருப்பம் உண்டு பகவானைத் தரிசிக்க;
வசதிகள் இல்லை பகவானைத் தரிசிக்க.

தரிசிப்போம் பகவானை மனத்திலேயே;
அர்ச்சிப்போம் மண் மலர்களைக் கொண்டு.

மண மலர்களால் அர்ச்சிக்க ஆசை உண்டு
மண் மலர்களே சாத்தியம் எமக்கு” என்றனர்.

ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் தோன்றினார் அப்போது!
“ஸ்ரீனிவாசா! வந்தீரா தரிசனம் தர?

ஏழையின் குடிசைக்கு வருவீர் தேவா!
எங்கள் உணவை உண்பீர் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா!”

27c. Vaikuntham

ThoNdaimaan saw that the pot maker Beeman and his wife had lived there all their lives. They had spent their entire lives in pot making to earn pittance. But their minds were fixed in lord’s feet. They were devoted without feeling proud of their devotion.

They never built any temple. They could not have – even if they had wished to. They never performed any festival. They could not have – even if they had wished to do. Yet they were worshiping lord with their thoughts and mind day in and day out.

Suddenly it dawned on him that everything is done by God Himself . He gets done whatever he wants, whichever way wants them to be. He does them all by Himself – using the others as mere instruments in His hands.

The thought that “I had built Anandha Nilayam” had corrupted his bhakti by introducing the karthruthva bhaavam in his actions. His ego and pride vanished now. His ahankaaram and mamakaaram disappeared. He fell at the feet of these ignorant, innocent, poor pot makers.

“I saw these clay flowers at the feet of the lord. I did not know that they were made by you here.”

Beeman replied, “We wish to offer fresh flowers but we cannot afford them. We want to have a dharshan of the lord but we have no money to travel.”

Srinivaasan appeared there in front of them now. The humble devotees jumped with joy.”Oh my Lord! Did you take pity on us and come here to us to give your dharshan? Please come inside out hut and share our humble food ”
