6#8b. Penance is resumed.
The bride became very sad by the sudden disappearance of the groom during the wedding ceremonies. Her mother consoled her. “Siva came to you because of your penance. I am sure he will come back if you resume your penance”

Lakshmi Devi and Saraswathi Devi also consoled the bride and told her to resume her penance.
The bride reached the tapo saala. She resumed her tapas.
Dakshan became very angry. “Siva came to my daughter begging her to marry him. Now that they are married, he has disappeared somewhere. Why are we put to this shame and dishonor? What have we done to deserve this treatment?” He was very angry when he bade farewell to the guests who had come for the wedding.

25b. சிலாரூபம்

நெருங்கியது சுபதினம் ஆலயம் புகுவதற்கு;
ததும்பியது குதூகலம் அகத்தியர் ஆசிரமத்தில்.

வந்து குவிந்தனர் இந்திராதி தேவர்கள் அங்கே;
சொந்தமாக ஏற்பாடுகளைக் கவனித்தார் பிரமன்.

வந்து சேர்ந்தனர் வசுதானனும், தொண்டைமானும்;
வந்து சேர்ந்தனர் அனைவரும் ஆனந்த நிலயம்.

ரதத்தில் வந்தனர் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனும் பத்மாவதியும்;
ரதத்தை ஓட்டினார் சுயமாக பிரம்மதேவன்.

கண்ணைப் பறித்தன வண்ணக் கோலங்கள்
மண்ணைத் தெளித்திருந்தனர் பன்னீரால்.

தோரணங்கள் தொங்கின பார்த்த இடம் எல்லாம்!
பூரணத் திருப்தி ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் உள்ளத்தில் நிலவ;

ஆனந்தம் பொங்கியது பத்மாவதி மனதில்
ஆனந்த நிலயம் ஆனது விமானத்தின் பெயர்.

ஹோமகுண்டத்தை வளர்த்தான் பிரமன்;
வேத காரியங்களை முடித்தான் பிரமன்.

விமானத்தின் கீழ் நின்றான் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன்-
விரும்பி அமர்த்தினான் தேவியை மார்பில்!

வலது கரம் காட்டியது ஒரு திருவடியை;
இடது கரம் மடங்கியது முழங்கால் அருகில்!

“ஆகும் பாதம் வைகுந்தமாக பக்தருக்கு.
ஆகும் சம்சாரம் முழங்கால் அளவு நீராக”

பிரமன் பணிந்து வணங்கி வேண்டினான்,
“பிரபு தங்க வேண்டும் இங்கு கலியுகத்தில்!”

“பூலோக வைகுந்தம் ஆகவேண்டும் இது – நான்
சிலா ரூபத்தில் இருப்பேன் ஆனந்த நிலயத்தில்!”

தூண்டா விளக்குகளை ஏற்றினான் பிரமன்!
ஆண்டாண்டு காலமாகப் பிரகாசிக்கின்றன.

சுபதினம் ஆனது முதல் பிரம்மோத்சவமாக;
சிலா உருவெடுத்து நிற்கின்றான் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன்!

VENKATESA PURAANAM

#25a. Silaa roopam

The auspicious day for occupying the temple was fast approaching. There was joy and mirth in the ashram of sage Agasthya. All the Deva had assembled there. Brahma personally took care of all the arrangements there.

King Vasudaanan and King ThoNdaimaan arrived. Everyone reached the temple. Srinivaasan and Padmaavati came on a chariot driven by Brahma.

The whole place was decorated with colorful hanging thoraNs and colorful eye capturing designs on the ground. The ground was sprinkled with rosewater and everybody was excited to see the beautifully constructed temple.

Sreenivaasan was very happy to see the temple. Padmaavati was bubbling with joy and the temple vimaanam was aptly named as Aanandha Nilayam.

Brahma ignited the homa kundam and did all the Vedic rituals. Srinivaasan stood on the spot under the vimaanam. He lifted up Padmaavati and kept her on his chest.

His right hand pointed to his right foot and conveyed the message, “My feet will be the vaikuntham for all my bhaktaas”

His left hand was folded at his left knee. It symbolized, “The deep sea of samsaara will become as shallow as a knee deep pool for those who surrender to me”

Brahma requested him to stay on there during Kaliyuga. Srinivaasan replied, “This should become the bhoo loka vaikuntam in this Kaliyuga. I will stay here in the form of a statue.”

Brahma lighted the ThooNdaa viLakku which is said to be burning even today. The auspicious day became the first Brahmothsavam day.

6#17b. பார்க்கவன் (2)

ஜொலித்தான் உதிக்கும் இளஞ்சூரியனைப் போல!
ஜொலித்தான் ஹைஹய அரசர்கள் குருடாகும்படி !

புலம்பினர், கலங்கினர், அழுதனர், தொழுதனர்,
புலப்படவில்லை என்ன மாயம் நிகழ்ந்தது என்று!

“பெண்களே செய்தனர் இந்த மாயத்தை இங்கே!
ஆண்கள் என்று யாருமே இல்லையே இங்கே?”

வணங்கினர் அரசர்கள் அந்தணப் பெண்களை,
“உணர்ந்து கொண்டோம் கற்பின் பெருமையை!

குருடாகிவிட்டோம் உங்கள் கற்பின் சக்தியால்;
அருளுங்கள் கண்பார்வை பிழைகளை மன்னித்து!

செய்ய மாட்டோம் இனிக் கொடிய பாவங்களை.
உய்யும் வழியைக் காட்டுங்கள் மனம் இரங்கி!”

“குருடாக்கவில்லை உம்மை யாம் மன்னர்களே!
பிருகு பிறந்தான் நீங்கள் வந்த அதே வேளையில்.

குருடானீர்கள் பிருகுவின் உடல் ஒளியால்;
கருவில் ஒளிந்திருந்தான் என் தொடையில்.

அஞ்சமாட்டான் பிருகு எவருக்கும் – அவனைத்
தஞ்சம் அடைந்தால் கிடைக்கும் கண் பார்வை.”

இறைஞ்சினர் பார்க்கவரிடம் ஹைஹய மன்னர்;
மறைந்த கண் பார்வை தரும்படி வேண்டினர்.

“தருகின்றேன் கண் பார்வை மீண்டும் உமக்கு!
செருக்கின்றி வாழுங்கள் தீங்குகள் புரியாமல்.

கொலை பாதகம் செய்யாதீர் அந்தணர்களுக்கு!
அலை பாயாதீர்கள் பழி வாங்கிய எண்ணியபடி.”

6#17b. Bhaargavan (2)

The child shone as brilliantly as the rising Sun with a blinding light. The Haihaya kings did not understand how they had become blind all of a sudden. There were only helpless women and no men around.

The lamented, cried, and prayed to the brahmin ladies there, “We have realized the power of your chastity. Please restore our eyesight. We won’t commit any sins in the future. Please help us out!”

The brahmin ladies replied to those kings “We have not made you blind Oh kings! Just when you arrived here, a son was born to one of us with the blinding brilliance of a rising sun.

He was conceived in her thigh. He can restore your eyesight. He is unafraid of anyone and anything. Pray to him to get you eye sight restored."

The kings prayed to the new born baby boy to restore their eyesight. Bhaargavan the boy replied,”

I will restore your eyesight. Give up your greed and pride. Do not trouble the brahmins any more. Don’t go about looking for change to avenge and take revenge on these poor brahmins!”

8c. இறைவனை வெகுளல்

தவச் சாலையை அடைந்த தாட்சாயணி
தவத்தைத் தொடர்ந்தாள் பல நாட்கள்.

வெண்தலை மாலை, கண்மணி மாலை,
வெண்ணீறு தரித்து வந்தார் பெருமான்.

காளை ஊர்தியின் மீது காட்சி தந்தார்.
வேளை வந்தது அழைத்துச் சென்றார்.

தலைவியைப் பிரிந்த தோழியர் குழாம்
நிலைமையை விளக்கியது தக்கனிடம்.

“அன்று மணச் சடங்குகளின் போதே
சென்று மறைந்தான் சிவன் எங்கோ!

இன்று காளையின் மேல் என் மகளை
தொன்று தொட்டு எவரும் செய்யாதபடி

விந்தையாக அழைத்துச் சென்றுள்ளான்
தந்தையும் தாயும் அறியாத வண்ணம்!

இதுவும் நெறியோ? அன்றி முறையோ?
இதைச் செய்ய வல்லவன் சிவனே!

குலத்தையே பழித்து விட்டான் சிவன்
குற்றத்துக்கு ஆட்படுத்திவிட்டான் அவன்.

ஐயம் ஏற்பவன் என்பதில் ஐயமே இல்லை.
ஐயம் இன்றிக் களவிலும் வல்லவன் தான்!”

நிந்தித்து வந்தான் தக்கன் சிவபெருமானை
சிந்திக்கும் போதெல்லாம் சீற்றத்துடனே.

6#8c. Dakshan annoyed with Siva

Dhakshaayani resumed her penance. Days rolled by. One fine day Siva appeared on Nandhi Devan, wearing his rudraaksham and kapaala maalai. He took her on Nandhi and went away to Kailash.

The friends of the girl were startled by the sudden unexpected happenings and ran to tell Dakshan. He was also shocked by the manner his daughter had been taken away by her husband.

“Siva disappeared during the wedding ceremony. Now he has taken away my daughter like no one has done ever before! He took her away without even informing us her parents.

Is it right on his part to do so? He has put to shame my race and my clan. I knew he would beg for his food. But it appears he is a thief as well.”

Dakshan could never forgive Siva. He was blaming Siva whenever he got a chance to do so.

25c. பிரம்மோத்ஸவம்

பிரமன் தெரிவித்தான் தொண்டைமானுக்கு
பிரம்மோத்ஸவத்துக்கான பல விவரங்களை.

பொன்னும், மணியும் வாரித் தந்தான் – அவன்
முன் வந்தான் உற்சாகமாக உற்சவம் நடத்த.

செய்தி பரவியது நான்கு திசைகளிலும்;
எய்தினர் உவகை செய்தியைக் கேட்டவர்.

குவிந்தனர் ஜனங்கள்; உருவாகின வீதிகள்;
குழுமினர் தேவர்கள்; உருவாகின கூடாரங்கள்!

காணக் கிடைக்காத காட்சிகள் கிடைத்தன.
காணிக்கை அளித்தனர் தம் சக்திக்கு ஏற்ப.

திருவிழா நடந்தது வெகு கோலாகலமாக.
திரும்பினர் தம் இருப்பிடம் குதூகலமாக.

தொண்டைமானுக்குப் பிரிய மனம் இல்லை.
“தொண்டை நாட்டை மறந்து விடாதே நீ!

தொண்டு புரியவேண்டும் உன் மக்களுக்கு.
மீண்டும் வருவாய் மோக்ஷம் அடைவதற்கு.

தொண்டை நாட்டை ஆட்சிசெய் அதுவரையில்!”
தொண்டைநாடு திரும்பினான் தொண்டைமான்.

#25c. Brahmotsavam

Brahman told ThoNdaimaan the details for performing the Brahmotsavam. He eagerly donated money and manpower to celebrate it in a grand scale. The news spread far and wide.

Everyone was excited about attending the celebration.
The people gathered there. The Deva gathered there. Roads were laid and tents were made to accommodate the guests.

The scenes witnessed were rare and people offered money to the temple depending on their wealth. The celebration went off well. All the guests returned to their places.

ThoNdaimaan did not want to go away from there. Srinivaasan told him,”You are the king of a county. It is your duty to serve them in the best possible manner. You will come here again when it is time to get moksha. Till then continue to rule your kingdom”

ThoNdai maan understood the importance of his duties and went back to ThoNdainaadu

6#17c. ரேவந்தன்

சூரிய தேவனின் ஒளி வீசும் மகன் ரேவந்தன்
அரிய பரியின் மீது ஏறிச் சென்றான் வைகுந்தம்.

ஆரோஹணித் திருந்தான் உச்சைஸ்ரவத்தின் மீதில்
அவதரித்தது பாற்கடலில் லக்ஷ்மிதேவியுடன் அது.

கண் கொட்டாமல் கண்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி அதை!
தன்னுடன் பாற்கடலில் பிறந்த உச்சைஸ்ரவத்தை!

சூரியன் மகனைக் கண்ட விஷ்ணு கேட்டார்,
“சூரியனைப் போல ஒளிரும் இச்சிறுவன் யார்?”

குதிரையின் அழகில் மனம் லயித்திருந்த லக்ஷ்மி
பதியின் கேள்விக்குப் பதில் அளிக்கவில்லை.

மீண்டும் மீண்டும் கேட்டார் விஷ்ணு – ஆனால்
மீண்டும் மீண்டும் மௌனம் சாதித்தாள் லக்ஷ்மி.

கோபம் பிறந்து விட்டது விஷ்ணுவின் மனதில்;
சாபம் பிறந்து விட்டது விஷ்ணுவின் சொல்லில்.

“ரமிக்கின்றாய் காணும் பொருட்களில் நீ!
ரமை என்ற பெயர் பெறுவாய் இனி நீ !

சஞ்சரிப்பாய் ஒரு நிலையில் இல்லாமல்;
சஞ்சலை என்ற பெயர் பெறுவாய் இனி நீ!

குதிரையைக் கண்டு மதி மயங்கி நின்றதால்
குதிரையாகப் பிறப்பாய் பூமிக்குச் சென்று!”

திடுக்கிட்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி சாபத்தைக் கேட்டதும்!
இடும்பை விளைவித்தது குதிரையின் எழில்!

‘குதிரையைப் பார்ப்பது தவறாகுமா ஸ்வாமி ?
குதிரையாகப் பிறந்தால் சாபம் தீருமா ஸ்வாமி?”

“எனக்குச் சமமான புத்திரனைப் பெற்றெடுத்தால்
உனக்குக் கிடைக்கும் சாப விமோசனம்” என்றார்

6#17c. Revanth


Revanth was the luminous son of Sun God. He rode to Vaikuntam on Uchchaisravas, the heavenly horse, one day.

The horse was born from the Ocean Of Milk along with Lakshmi Devi. She stood admiring the beauty and the grace of the horse which had appeared along with her.

VishNu eyed the brilliant boy and asked Lakshmi Devi, “Who is that child? Whose son is he?” Lakshmi Devi was lost to the world and stood there silently admiring the divine horse.

VishNu asked her again and again but she remained silent even then. VishNu flew into a temper and cursed her!

“You get immersed to everything you set your eyes on. You will known by the name Rama henceforth. You will be moving around aimlessly like your concentration. You will be known as Sanchala henceforth. You were admiring a mere horse and ignoring me. You will be born on the earth as a mare.”

Lakshmi Devi got shocked to hear these words. She begged Vishnu for a saapa nivaaraNam. VishNu told her, “Your curse will be broken when you get a son who will be equal to me in every respect!”

9a. கயிலை ஏகுதல்.

தக்க செயல் அன்று என்று தேவர்கள்
தக்கன் செயலை அறிந்து வருந்தினர்;

மேன்மைகள் பெறுவது செய்தவத்தால்.
மேன்மைகள் அழிவது ஆணவத்தால்.

சிவனுக்கும் இவனுக்கும் உண்டாகிய
பகையினை அழிக்க முடிவு செய்தனர்.

“குற்றம் பார்க்கின் சுற்றம் இல்லை!
மற்று நீ மகளைக் காணவேண்டாமா?

கயிலை மலை சென்று மகிழ்வுடன்
கயிலை நாதரைக் கண்டு வருவாய்”

சிந்தித்துப் பார்த்தான் சினம் நீக்கி;
இந்தச் சொற்களின் நன்மை விளங்கியது.

திருக் கயிலை சென்று வர உடன்பட்டான்;
ஒரு சிறு குழுவுடன் அவன் புறப்பட்டான்.

சிவன் எழுந்தருளிய கோவிலை அணுகி
அவன் அடைந்தான் நந்தி தேவரை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

6#9a. Visiting Kailash.

The Devas felt sorry watching Dakshan’s behavior. Boons are received by doing penance and the same greatness will be lost by arrogance. They wanted to put an end to the misunderstanding between Siva and Dakshan.

They advised Dakshan,” If you keep harping on the faults of others, soon you will have none you can call as your own. You must not lose contact with your dear daughter. Go to Kailash and iron out the differences with Siva”

Dakshan thought over this with a calm mind devoid of hatred and anger. He understood the truth in these statements. He agreed to visit Kailash with a small group of persons. He set out to Kailash and reached there. He approached Nandhi Devan.

#26a. கிருஷ்ண சர்மா

கூர்மன் விரும்பினான் கங்கையில் நீராட.
ஆர்வம் மட்டும் இருந்தால் போதுமா?

நிறைவேறவில்லை ஒருநாளும் கோரிக்கை;
நீத்து விட்டான் உலக வாழ்வையே ஒருநாள்.

கிருஷ்ண சர்மா கூர்மனின் மகன் ஆவான்;
விரும்பினான் தந்தையின் கனவை நனவாக்க.

‘இறந்தார் தந்தை ஆசை நிறைவேறாமல்!
கரைக்க வேண்டும் அஸ்தியை கங்கையில்.’

குடும்பத்தோடு புறப்பட்டான் காசி நகருக்கு.
தடங்கல் மேல் தடங்கல்கள் வந்து சேர்ந்தன.

அடைந்திருந்தான் அப்போது தொண்டைநாட்டை.
அதிசயித்தான் தொண்டைமான் புகழைக் கேட்டு.

தோன்றியது ஒரு எண்ணம் அவன் மனத்தில்.
மூன்று மாதக் குழந்தையை, மனைவியை,

மன்னன் பாதுகாப்பில் விட்டுச் சென்றால்
முன்னேற முடியும் தனியாளாக, வேகமாக.

தொண்டைமானைச் சந்தித்தான் கிருஷ்ண சர்மா.
ஒண்ட ஓரிடம் தந்து பாதுகாக்க வேண்டினான்.

“காசி செல்ல ஆசைப்பட்டார் என் தந்தையார்.
தாசில் பண்ண ஆசை இருந்தால் போதுமா?

கைக் குழந்தையை, மனைவியைப் பாதுகாத்து
கை கொடுத்து உதவிட யாருமில்லை அரசே!

இளம் குழந்தையை, இளைய மனைவியைத்
தளிர் போலப் பாதுகாப்பீரா நான் வரும் வரை?”

தொண்டைமான் அளித்தான் சம்மதம் – உடனே
தொண்டைமானிடம் விடுத்தான் குடும்பத்தை.

மனப் பளு அகன்றவனாக விரைந்தான்
மகனின் கடமையைச் செய்யக் காசிநகர்.

#26a. Krishna Sharma

Koorman, a brahmin, dreamed of having a holy dip in Ganga river all his life but the dream remained just a dream. He left the world with his wish unfulfilled. Krishna sharma was his devoted son.

He wished to fulfill the dream of his father partly by immersing his ashes in Ganges. He left to Kasi with his young wife and three months old infant son. The way was difficult and his wife and child were unable to stand the long tiring journey.

He had reached ThoNdai naadu then he was wonder struck by the fame and good name earned by the good king ThoNdaimaan. He had a brainwave and thought,’ What if I leave my wife and son under the care of the king? I can travel faster and return to them faster.’

He went to the king and explained the situation. He requested the king to take care of his family since he had no one else who he could trust with this responsibility.

King ThoNdaimaan agreed to this and the wife and son of Krishna sharma were left in the care of the king. Now alone and devoid of worries Krishna sharma continued the long journey at a a faster pace.

6#18a. பெண் குதிரை (1)

“என்ன செய்தான் ரேவந்தன் வைகுண்டத்தில்?
எங்கே பிறந்தாள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி குதிரையாக?

எங்கனம் பிள்ளை பிறந்தது பெண் குதிரைக்கு?
எங்கனம் சாபம் தீர்ந்தது லக்ஷ்மி தேவிக்கு?”

சரமாரியாகக் கேள்விகளைத் தொடுத்தான் மன்னன்;
விரிவாக எடுத்துக்கூறி விளக்கினார் வியாச முனிவர்.

“சாபத்தைக் கேட்டு பயந்துவிட்டான் ரேவந்தன்;
கோபத்தைக் கண்டு திரும்பிச் சென்றுவிட்டான் .

தந்தையிடம் சொன்னான் நடந்தவற்றை எல்லாம்.
நொந்த உள்ளத்துடன் விடை பெற்றாள் லக்ஷ்மி.

வடிவெடுத்தாள் பெண் குதிரையாக வனத்தில்;
கடின தவம் செய்தாள் சிவபிரானைக் குறித்து.

காளிந்தி நதி, தமஸா நதிகளின் சங்கமத்தில்
களி கூர்ந்து காட்சி தந்தான் சிவபெருமான்.

“வைகுந்தம் விடுத்து பூலோகம் வந்தது ஏன்?
விஷ்ணுவை விடுத்து என்னை தியானித்தது ஏன்?”

“சபித்து என்னைப் பெண்குதிரை ஆக்கினார் விஷ்ணு;
சாப விமோசனம் புத்திரப் பேற்றுக்குப் பின்னர் தான்.

தேவை சாப விமோசனம் என் கணவனை அடைய!
தேவை கணவன் நான் சாப விமோசனம் அடைய!

கூறவில்லை புத்திரப்பேறு ஏற்படுவது பற்றி அவர்;
கோரவில்லை புத்திரப்பேறு ஏற்படுவது பற்றி நான்.

கணவனே கண்கண்ட தெய்வம் பெண்களூக்கு - ஆனால்
கணவனுக்குக் கண்கண்ட தெய்வம் நீரே அன்றோ?”

6#18a. The mare (1)
King Janamejayan had many more doubts to be clarified by Sage Vyaasaa.
“What did Revanth do in Vaikuntham? Where did Lakshmi Devi appear as a mare? How did the mare deliver a son as great as Visnu? When did Lakshmi Devi get rid of the curse?”

Sage Vyaasaa replied,” Revanth got scared by Vishnu’s anger and the curse. He went back and told all the happenings to his father the Sun God. Lakshmi Devi took leave of Vishnu with a heavy heart.

She appeared a mare in a forest. She meditated on Lord Siva with unified concentration. Lord Siva gave her a darshan in the sangamam of KaaLindi river and Tamasaa river.

He asked Lakshmi Devi, “Why are you here on earth instead of Vaikuntm? Why did you do penance towards me instead of your husband Vishnu?”

Lakshmi Devi replied,” Vishnu cursed me to be born as a mare. I will be rid of the curse after I bear a son as great as Vishnu. But he did not tell me how I am supposed to conceive the son. I did not ask him about it either.

I know that the husband is the god for every married woman but you are the God of my husband. Therefore I meditated on you and did my penance."

9b. பூதர்கள் தடை.

தக்கன் உள்ளே நுழையாதவாறு
தடுத்தன காவல் செய்யும் பூதர்கள்.

“என் மகளைக் காண வந்துள்ளேன்.
என்னைத் தடுக்க நீங்கள் யார்?”

“சிந்தித்த போதெல்லாம் நிந்தித்தாய்!
இந்த நாள் வரும் என்று அறியவில்லை!

உலகை வாட்டும் அரக்கர் குலம் கூட
நிலவணி பிரானை நேசித்து வாழ்ந்திடும்.

அரக்கர் கொண்டுள்ள அன்பில் ஒரு
அணு அளவேனும் கொள்ளவில்லை நீ!

சிவன் தந்த மேன்மைகளும் வேண்டும்;
அவனை தூற்றி இகழவும் வேண்டும்;

மாயையின் வசப்பட்டு தீவினைகளால்
தூய அறிவினை நீ இழந்து விட்டாய்.

வழிபாடு செய்ய விரும்பினால் நில்!
இழித்துப் பேச விரும்பினால் செல்!”

“சிவன் சொற்படித் தடை செய்தீர்கள்.
சிவனை ஒருநாளும் தொழேன் நான்!

தேவர் என் ஏவலர், கடவுளர் நண்பர்;
தேவை இல்லை எனக்குச் சிவன் அருள்!”

திரும்பி விட்டான் தக்கன் மாநகருக்கு!
இருந்தான் தக்கன் வெறுப்பின் உச்சியில்;

தேவர்களிடம் தக்கன் துணிந்து கூறினான்
தேவாதி தேவனை இகழும் சொற்களை.

“கருத்தொருமித்தனர் சிவனும், மகளும்;
காவல் பூதங்கள் தடுத்து நிறுத்தின.

பூதர்கள் என்னை இகழ்ந்து தூற்றினர்;
பூதர்கள் எனக்கு அனுமதி மறுத்தனர்;

உமையைச் சிவனை வழிபடல் ஆகாது!
உரிமைகள் பறிபோகும் இதை மீறினால்!”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

6#9B.Siva Ganas stop Dakshan.

The Siva ganas guarding kailash refused entry to Dakshan. “I came to visit my daughter. Who are you to stop me?” he asked the ganas.

“Whenever you thought of Siva, you were abusing him.You never realized that this day will come! Even the cruel asuras who torture the world love Siva. You do not have even an atom of their love to Siva!

You want to enjoy all the greatness conferred on you by Siva. you also want to blame him to your heart’s content. You are under the influence of Maya and have lost your good sense. If you want to worship Siva you may stay here. If you want to blame him go back now.”

Dakshan’s anger knew no bounds. “You are stopping me as advised by your lord Siva. I will never worship him. All the Devas are my servants and all the Gods are my friends. I do not need the grace of Siva”

He returned to Dakshapuri in a rage. He continued to blame Siva and speak ill of him to the other Deva. “My daughter and Siva see eye to eye now. The guarding ganans stopped me from entering kailash. They spoke ill of me.

No one should worship Siva and Uma hence forth. Anyone disobeying this order will lose all his rights and liberties!”. Dakshan warned all the DevAs

26b. பட்டினிச் சாவு

தொண்டைமான் சுயமாக கவனித்தான்
தன்னிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப் பட்டவர்களை.

ஏற்பாடு செய்தான் தனி வீடு ஒன்றை;
ஏற்படுத்தினான் சகல வசதிகளையும்.

பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு குவித்தான் – பிறர்
நெருங்க வண்ணம் பூட்டினான் கதவுகளை.

அடிக்கடி விசாரித்தான் முதலில் சில நாட்கள்
அடியோடு மறந்துவிட்டான் அதன் பின்னர்.

அரசனே கவனித்து வந்ததால் வேறு எவரும்
அக்கறை எடுக்கவில்லை மறந்தே விட்டனர்

குந்தித் தின்றால் குன்றும் மாளும் அன்றோ?
முந்தி சேமித்த உணவுப் பொருட்கள் தீர்ந்தன!

பூட்டி இருந்ததால் செல்லமுடியவில்லை வெளியே!
மாட்டிக் கொண்டனர் பொறியில் இரு எலிகள் போல.

பட்டினி கிடந்தனர் தாயும் சேயும் பலநாட்கள்
விட்டனர் தம் உயிரை ஒருவர் பின் ஒருவராக.

காசியிலிருந்து திரும்பினான் கிருஷ்ண சர்மா
காசித் தீர்த்தம் அளித்தான் தொண்டைமானுக்கு.

“யாத்திரை இனிதே முடிந்தது உங்கள் தயவால்!
பத்திரமாக உள்ளனரா என் மனைவியும் மகனும் ?

திடுக்கிட்டான் தொண்டைமான் இது கேட்டு
நடுக்கம் எடுத்தது அவர்களை நினைத்ததும்!

“சிரம பரிஹாரம் செய்யுங்கள் அவர்களைச்
சிறிது நேரத்தில் வரவழைக்கிறேன் இங்கு.”

மகனிடம் தந்தான் அந்த வீட்டுச் சாவியை.
ரகசியமாகப் பார்த்துவிட்டு வரச் சொன்னான்.

#26b. Starvation deaths

King ThoNdaimaan took personal interest in the family of Krishna Sharma. He arranged a house for them to live in. He made every convenience needed in it. He filled the house with grocery and other edible things. The house was kept locked from outside to protect the young woman and her son.

At first the king visited them regularly and gave them whatever they needed. Later on he forgot about them completely due to the pressure in work. All the others never took interest since the king was taking personal interest.

Soon the food stuff got exhausted. They were not replaced. The mother and son could not go out since the door was locked from outside. They were like two rats caught in a trap. They died one after another. Krishna Sharma returned after completing his trip to Kasi.

He gave the Ganaga theertham to the king and asked about the welfare of his family. The king was shocked since he had forgotten all about them long ago. He said, “Please rest for some time. I shall send for them”

He gave the keys of the house to his son and told him to go and find out about them secretly.

6#18b. பெண் குதிரை (2)

“பேதம் இல்லை எங்கள் இருவரிடையே – ஆனால்
போதப்படும் இந்த உண்மை ஞானவான்களுக்கே.

ஸ்தூல உருவங்களில் உள்ளது பேதம் – ஆயினும்
ஸ்வரூபத்தில் இல்லை எந்த விதமான பேதமும்.

மாயையால் மறைப்பாள் தேவி தூய அறிவினை;
மாயை விலகியவுடன் துலங்கிடும் தூய அறிவு.

ஞான விலாசம் உண்டாகும் தேவியின் அருளால்;
ஞானம் பெற்றவர்களைக் காண்பது மிக அரிதே!”

“எங்கனம் தெரிந்தது எனக்கு இந்த உண்மை?
தங்களிடம் பக்தி செய்தான் விஷ்ணு பிரான்.

‘அதிவிரைவில் மகிழ்வடையும் சிவபெருமானே
வசிக்கின்றார் பிராணனாக ஜீவன்களில்!’ என்றான்

‘கலந்துள்ளேன் நான் அன்பால் அவனுடன் !
கலந்துள்ளான் அவன் அன்பால் என்னுடன்!

பேதம் இல்லை எங்கள் இருவரிடையே!’ என்று
போதப் படுத்தினார் விஷ்ணு பிரான் எனக்கு!”

“வியக்கின்றேன் உன் ஞானத்தை, பக்தியை!
விசனம் வேண்டாம் புத்திரப் பேறு குறித்து.

வருவான் நாரணன் ஆண் குதிரையாக மாறி;
தருவான் நீ விரும்பும் அழகியதொரு மகனை.

பெறுவன் உன் மகன் ஏக வீரன் என்னும் பெயர்;
பெறுவான் புகழ், பெருமை, ஆதிக்கம் உலகில்.

தழைக்கும் ஹைஹய வம்சம் முன் போலவே;
வழக்கம் போல நீ வாழலாம் வைகுந்தத்தில்!

வணங்கி வழிபடு சக்தி தேவியை மனமார
வாய்க்கும் சித்த சுத்தி காமம், மதம் நீங்கி."

துதித்தாள் தேவியின் திருவடிகளை – எதிர்
பார்த்திருந்தாள் லக்ஷ்மி கணவன் வரவை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

6#18b. The mare (2)

Siva continued telling Lakshmi about himself and Vishnu.” There is no difference between me and Vishnu. But only those who have wisdom know this truth. There are differences in our external appearances but there is no difference in our swaroopam.

Devi covers true intellect by her Maayaa and people fail to see our unity in diversity. Once wisdom dawns overcoming Devi’s Maayaa, this truth will reveal itself. Devi blesses a person with Gnanam and removes the ignorance she has created by her Maayaa”

Lakshmi spoke to Siva now, “Do you wonder how I came to know about this truth? My husband Vishnu is a staunch devotee of you. He told me once that

‘Siva who can be pleased very easily is the one who resides in all the jeevaas as their praaNa shakti or Life Force. I adore and worship him. He does the same to me. There is no difference between me and Siva!’ Thus he made understand this truth.”

Siva was impressed by her knowledge and wisdom and told Lakshmi now,” I am impressed by your wisdom and knowledge. Please do not worry about getting a good son equal to Vishnu in every respect.

Vishnu will come to you as a male horse to fulfill your wish to get a great son. You will get a great son named Eka Veeran. He will become famous, powerful and great in his own rights.

Haihaya vamsam will flourish as before. You can return to Vaikuntham as before. Worship Devi. She is the one who can fulfill all your desires. She will remove all the defect related to mind and make the mind pure and blemish-less.”

Lakshmi worshiped Devi and was eagerly waiting for the arrival of her husband in the form of a male horse, to enable her saapa nivaaraNam.
 
KANDA PURAANAM - DAKSHA KAANDAM

10a. நான்முகன் வேள்வி.

தக்கனுக்கு அஞ்சி நடுங்கிய தேவர்கள்
தக்கன் ஆணைப்படி நடந்து வந்தனர்;

நஞ்சையுண்டவனை நாயகன் ஆக்கி
நான்முகன் வேள்வி செய்ய விழைந்தான்.

தேவையான பொருட்களைச் சேகரித்து
தேவர்களுடன் சென்றான் கயிலைமலை.

வேள்வியைச் சிறப்பிக்க வருமாறு
வேண்டினான் முக்கட்பிரான் சிவனை.

“நமது வடிவம் கொண்டுள்ள நந்தியை
நான்முகன் வேள்விக்கு அனுப்புகிறேன்.”

தக்கனையும் அழைத்தான் வேள்விக்கு.
தக்க தருணத்தில் தொடங்கியது வேள்வி.

வேள்விக்கு வந்த தேவர் கூட்டத்திற்கு
வேண்டிய உபசாரங்களைச் செய்தான்.

“நான்முகனின் வேள்விக்குச் சென்று
நமது அவிர்பாகத்தை வாங்கிவா!”

பணித்தான் ஈசன் நந்தி தேவரிடம்;
கணங்களுடன் சென்றான் வேள்விக்கு!

வரவேற்றான் நந்தியை பிரமன் வணங்கி;
அரியணை மீது அமர்த்தி கௌரவித்தான்;

நந்தியின் பெருமையைக் கண்ட உடனே
சிந்தையில் மூண்டது பொறாமைத் தீ.

“தெய்வங்கள் கூடியுள்ள இந்த இடத்தில்
பேய்கள், பூதங்கள், நந்தியின் கூட்டமா?

வெள்ளி மலையைக் காவல் புரியும் காளை
வேள்விச்சாலையில் என்ன செய்கிறது?”

சினந்து நோக்கினான் நான்முகனை;
சீற்றத்துடன் பேசலானான் தக்கன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

6#10a. Brahma’s yagna.

Brahma wanted to perform a yagna with Siva as the main deity. He gathered all the things required for the yaaga. He went to Kailash and invited Siva to grace the ceremony with his presence.

Siva replied, “I will send Nandhi as my representative to the yaaga.”

Daakshn was also invited. The Yaga started at an auspicious hour. Nandhi was sent to represent Siva along with the Siva gaNas. Brahma receive Nandhi with great honor and offered him a throne to sit on. Dakshan’s anger knew no bounds.

“This is a place where all the gods have gathered. What business does the guarding bull of Kailash have here along with its group of demons?”

He stared at Brahma with great anger and started talking.
 
VENKATESA PURAANAM

26c. சரணாகதி

ஆடிப் போய்விட்டான் தொண்டைமான் மகன்
ஆவி பிரிந்த உடல்களை அங்கு கண்டவுடன்.

ஓடினான் தந்தையிடம் மிகுந்த துயருடன்,
“தேடி வந்தது நம்மை பிரம்மஹத்தி தோஷம்.

இறந்து விட்டனர் இருவரும் பட்டினியால்
மறந்தே போய் விட்டோம் நாம் அவர்களை.

களங்கம் ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டதே நல்ல பெயருக்கு!
விளங்குமா இதைச் சொன்னால் யாருக்காவது?”

மீண்டும் வந்தான் கிருஷ்ண சர்மா – “நான் காண.
வேண்டும் என் மனைவியை, மகனை!”என்றான்.

“ஆலயம் சென்றுள்ளனர் இந்த அந்தப்புர மகளிர்.
அவர்களுடன் சென்றுள்ளனர் இவர்கள் இருவரும்!

இரண்டு நாட்களில் திரும்ப வந்துவிடுவார்கள்.
இருங்கள் நீங்கள் அரண்மனையில் அதுவரை.”

கிருஷ்ண சர்மா நிம்மதியாகச் சென்றுவிட்டான்;
கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவுக்கு உண்மை தெரிந்துவிட்டால்?

‘ஸ்ரீனிவாசனே என்னைக் காக்க முடியும் இப்போது!’
ஸ்ரீனிவாசனை விரைந்து சென்று சரணடைந்தான்.

பாதங்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு கண்ணீர் விட்டான்.
” பாதி இரவில் வந்து கண்ணீர் விடுவது ஏன்?” என

“வாக்குத் தந்தால் விடுவேன் பாதங்களை அன்றிச்
சாக்குச் சொன்னால் விடுவேன் என் உயிரையே!”

“உனக்கு வந்த இடர் என்னுடையது அல்லவா?
என்னிடம் கூறுவாய் நடந்தது என்னவென்று!”

ஆதியோடு அந்தமாக உரைத்தான் அனைத்தையும்;
“பாதிப்பு அடைந்தவனுக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்வேன்?”

26c. SaraNaagati

ThoNdaimaan’s son got the shock of his life when he saw the dead bodies inside the house. He went running to the king shedding tears of remorse.

“We have incurred Brahma haththi dosham by causing the death of the young woman an her infant son. We forgot all about them”

ThoNdaimaan felt sad that he was guilty and unworthy of the trust placed in him by Krishna Sharma. He was at his wit’s end not knowing what to tell that young man.

Krishna Sharma came to the king again and told him, “I am all eager to meet my family. Please send for them.” The king managed to tell him a white lie.

“The women of this palace have gone to visit a temple. Your family has gone with them. They will return in two days’ time. Please stay here and wait for their return!”

Krishna Sharma went back peacefully but the king got agitated fearing his reaction when he came to know the truth. He said to himself. ‘Only Srinivaasan can save me for this dilemma!’

He rushed to the Aanandha Nilayam and caught hold of lord’s feet and washed them with his tears. Srinivaasan asked him,

“What brings you here in the middle of the night. Why this shedding of copious tears. What has happened?’

“Only if you promise to save me I will let go of your feet and tell you what happened or else I shall sacrifice my life.”

Srinivaasan assured the king, “Your problems are my problems. Please tell me what has happened!”

ThoNdaimaan told him everything that had happened after he met Krishna Sharma. He asked “What is the reply I am going to give that trusting young man? Please tell me ”

6#19a. ஆண் குதிரை

சிவபெருமான் வரம் அளித்தார் லக்ஷ்மி தேவிக்கு;
சித்ரரூபனை அனுப்பினார் விஷ்ணு மூர்த்தியிடம்.

“செல்வாய் வைகுந்த வாசனிடம் இப்போதே!
சொல்வாய் இந்தத் தூதுமொழிகளை அங்கு.

“துயரத்தில் மூழ்கி உள்ளாள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி.
துயரம் தீர்த்து அழைத்துச் செல் உன்னுடன்!”

வந்த காரியத்தை வினவினான் விஷ்ணு பிரான்;
“வந்த காரியம் உம் சொந்தக் காரியமே ஸ்வாமி!

வாழ வேண்டியவள் லக்ஷ்மி வக்ஷஸ்தலத்தில்;
வாடுகிறாள் பூமியில் தனியாக ஒரு வனத்தில்.

போக வாழ்வு வாழ வேண்டியவள் லக்ஷ்மி;
சோக வாழ்வு வாழ்கின்றாள் ஒரு வனத்தில்.

அனைவருக்கும் சௌபாக்கியம் தரும் தேவி
அனுபவிக்கலாமா மனவேதனைகளை ஸ்வாமி?

பத்தினியின் உருவத்துக்கு ஏற்ற உருவவெடுத்து
புத்திரனை அளித்துச் சாபம் தீர்ப்பீர்” என்றான்.

திரும்பினான் சிவலோகம் தூதுவன் சித்ரரூபன்;
பெருகியது காமம் விஷ்ணுவுக்கு தேவியருளால்.

விடுத்தான் வைகுண்டத்தை விஷ்ணு மூர்த்தி;
எடுத்தான் அழகிய ஆண் குதிரையின் வடிவம்!

சென்றான் பெண் குதிரை இருந்த வனத்துக்கு;
நின்றாள் லக்ஷ்மி தன் கணவனை எதிர் நோக்கி.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

6#19a. The male horse

Siva blessed Lakhmi Devi. He sent Chitraroopan as his messenger to Vishnu. “Go to Vaikuntha vaasan and convey this messages as told by me.

Lakshmi Devi is immersed in a life of loneliness and sorrow on earth. Put an end to her suffering and take her back with you to Vaikuntham.”

Chitraroopan went to Vishnu who asked him what was his business there. Chitra roopan replied,

“I have come here on your business lord! Lakshmi Devi’s rightful place is your vaksha sthaalm (chest region). But now she is living in a forest on earth all by herself.

Lakshmi Devi deserves to live a life of pleasures. But now she is living in a forest as a mare. Lakshmi bestows good life and riches on everyone else. Can we let her suffer thus?

Please assume a form to suit the present form of your wife. Bless her with a son and help her to get rid of the curse and return to Vaikuntham”

Chitra roopan returned to Kailaasam and Siva after conveying this message.

By Devi’s grace Vishnu became lovelorn and yearned to become intimate with his wife Lakshmi Devi. He assumed the form a strong male horse and went to the forest where Lakshmi Devi, now a mare, was awaiting his arrival.
