VINAAYAKA PURAANAM -2

14c. துராசதன்

வஞ்சகமாகப் பிரமாசுரன் கொல்லப்பட்டதை,
வஞ்சம் தீர்க்க எண்ணினான் மகன் துராசதன்.

சுக்கிராசாரியாரிடம் சென்றான் அவன் நேராக,
“அக்கிரமாகக் கொன்று விட்டனர் தந்தையை!

உபாயம் ஒன்றினைக் கூறுங்கள் குலகுருவே!
அபாயம் வரச் செய்வது எப்படி தேவர்களுக்கு?”

பஞ்சாக்ஷரத்தை நன்கு உபதேசித்தார் குலகுரு.
பிஞ்சு மதியணி பிரானைத துதிக்கச் சொன்னார்.

ஐம்புலன்களையும் அடக்கி, ஐந்தெழுத்தை ஓதிட,
சம்பு தோன்றினார், வரங்களையும் அருளினார்!

தேவர்களால் அழிவின்மை; நீண்ட ஆயுளுடன்;
மூவுலகங்களின் ஆளுமையைக் கோரிப்பெற்றான்.

வல்லவன் பின்னால் செல்வதற்கு வருவார்கள்
அல்லல் தீர்ந்து அமைதியாக வாழ விரும்புபவர்.

வந்து கூடினர் அரக்கர்கள் அசுரன் துராசதனிடம்,
வல்லமை பெருகத் தொடங்கியது மேன்மேலும்.

முகுந்தம் ஆனது அவனது அழகிய தலை நகர்;
மூவுலகும் அவன் குடைக் கீழ் வந்து விட்டன!

அசுரனின் வருகையை அறிந்ததால் இந்திரன்
அமராவதியை விட்டுச் சென்றுவிட்டான் காசி.

பிரமனும், நாரணனும் அவனை எதிர்க்காமல்
பிரானிடம் சென்று சரண் புகுந்தனர் காசியில்!

சகல தேவர்களும் கூடி இருந்தனர் காசியில்;
சகல லோகங்களையுன் வென்றான் துராசதன்.

காசிக்குச் சென்றான் தேவர்களைத் துன்புறுத்த;
ஈசன் சென்றுவிட்டார் தேவர்களுடன் கேதாரம்!

நடத்தினான் ஆட்சி காசியில் இருந்து கொண்டு;
முடக்கினான் யாக, யக்ஞங்களை முற்றிலுமாக.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

44c. Duraasadan

Brammaasuran’s son Duraasadan got angry that his father was killed by treachery. He wanted to avenge his father’s death. He went to his kulaguru Sukraachaarya and asked him, “My father was killed by Vishnu treacherously. Please tell me how I can inflict pain and sufferings on the Deva?”

Sukraachaarya taught him panchaakshara and told him to meditate on Lord Siva. Duraasadan meditated on Lord Siva controlling his five Indriyaas and chanting the panchaakshara. Lord Siva was very pleased and appeared before him to grant boons.

Duraasadan got the boons that he could not be destroyed by the Deva, he would live for a very long time and rule all the three worlds.

All the asuras came and joined hands with him. Slowly his power increased. Mukundam became his capital city and he invaded the heavens. On hearing about the arrival of Duraasadan, Indra left Amaraavati and went to Kasi.

Vishnu and Brahma also left their abodes and went to Kasi. All the Deva were in Kasi. Duraasadan wanted to trouble them and went to Kasi. But Siva along with all the Deva went off to Kedaara kshetram.

However Duraasadan continued to live in Kasi and rule from there. He stopped the performance of all the yaaga and yagna completely.

5#27a. ரக்தபீஜன் (1)

சண்ட முண்டர்கள் மாய்ந்தது கேட்டு
மண்டியது கோபம் சும்பாசுரனுக்கு.

“காளிகா தேவி உண்கிறாள் எல்லோரையும்.
காளிகா தேவி உண்கிறாள் எல்லாவற்றையும்.

ஆயுதங்களினால் அழியவில்லை அசுரர் படை;
வாயினால் விழுங்கப் பட்டு அழிந்தது அது.

பெருகி ஓடுகிறது ரத்த ஆறு போர்க்களத்தில்;
சேறு போல ஆனது அசுரர்களின் உடல்கள்.

பாசி போல் தோன்றுகிறது அசுரரின் தலை முடி,
வீசிய சுரைக் காய்கள் ஆயின வீழ்ந்த சிரங்கள்.

கைவிட்டு விடும் போர் செய்யும் எண்ணத்தை;
மெய் பிழைக்கும் பாதாள லோகம் சென்றால்.

ரத்தம் சுவைத்து விட்டுக் கொக்கரிக்கிறாள் காளி!
யுத்தம் விருந்தளித்தது பெண்ணின் சிங்கத்துக்கு.

தேவர்களுக்கு நல்ல காலம் பிறந்து விட்டது போல!
தோன்றியது உமது போர் வெறி அதன் காரணமாக!

பலி இடுகிறீர்கள் விசுவாசிகளைப் போரில்;
விலை மதிக்க இயலாத அசுரர்களை நீங்கள்.

இத்தனை துன்பமும் சிற்றின்பத்துக்காகவா?
எத்தனை அசுரரை ஒருத்தி அழித்துவிட்டாள்!

யோசிக்காமல் வென்றீர் போரில் அமரரை
யோசிக்கின்றீர் இன்று பெண்ணுடன் போரிட.

வரம் ஒன்று பெற்றீர் பிரம தேவனிடம் பண்டு;
மரணம் வரலாம் பெண்ணால் மட்டும் என்று.

வந்துவிட்டாள் உமது மரணதேவதை இன்று;
வந்துள்ளாள் அழகிய பெண்ணுருவம் கொண்டு.”

5#27a. Raktha Beejan (1)

Those asuraas who escaped alive told Sumbaasuran all the events of the day. The told him about the death of ChaNdan and MuNdan in the hands of KaaLi Devi.

“KaaLi Devi is eating everything. KaaLi Devi is eating everyone. Our army was not destroyed by any weapons. It was actually gobbled up by KaaLi.

A river of blood flows there. The crushed bodies of the dead asuras have formed a bloody slush. The hair of the ausraas appear like the algae on a river. The severed heads of the asuraas float like gourds plucked and thrown in a river.

Give up the idea of fighting. Going back to Paataalam may spare our lives. KaaLi is intoxicated by drinking the fresh blood. The lion feasts on the bodies of the asuraas.

Devaas have an auspicious time now. That is the reason why you opted to fight. You are sacrificing your loyal warriors in the battle.

Are they being sacrificed for you pleasure and joy with that strange woman ? How many warriors have been killed single handedly by her!

You won over the Devaas without a second thought. You are so concerned about fighting with this woman.

You have secured a rare boon from Brahma long ago that your death may be caused only by a woman. The angel of death has come here now – in the guise of a lovely young lady.”

7a. இரணியன் அறிவுரை.

அரசவையில் உடன் அமர்ந்திருந்தான்;
ஆற்றல் மிக்க அவுணன் இரணியன்.

ஆயிரம் மறைகளை உணர்ந்தவன்;
மாய வஞ்சனைகளில் தேர்ந்தவன்.

முன்னாளில் கீழுலகை வென்றவன்;
மூன்று தலைகளை உடையவன்.

அரசன் சூரபத்மனைப் போற்றிய பின்
உரைக்கலானான் பல அறவுரைகள்;

“தேவர்களைச் சிறை செய்வது தீமை;
தேவர்களைத் துன்புறுத்தினால் அழிவு!

மேன்மைகளைத் தந்த சிவபெருமானே
மேன்மைகளை மாற்ற எண்ணினால்;

போற்றி அவரை நாம் வழிபடுவோமா?
போரிட்டு அனைத்தையும் இழப்போமா?

அருள் மிக்க ஐயனை அடைக்கலம் என
அடைந்தவர் உய்வர்; மற்றவர் மாய்வர்.

பெருமானின் திருமகன் முருகனோடு
பொருதலும் நமக்கு நன்மை தருமோ?

முருகனின் திரு விளையாடல்களை
அறியாமல் மயங்குகின்றனர் தேவர்;

சிறுவன் என்று நீ இகழாதே அவனை!
சிறுவனாக வந்துள்ளது சிவபெருமானே!

வேற்படை முன் எப்படை வெல்லும்?
தோற்றமும் முடிவும் இல்லாத அந்த

முருகனை எதிர்த்து வெல்ல இயலுமா
உருவத்தில் சிறுவனாக இருந்த போதிலும்?

உறவினரோடு சரண் புகுவோம் நாம்!
உய்வோம் வாரும் உடனே செல்வோம்!”

4 # 7 a. Hiranyan’s advice.

Hiranyan was seated in there at that time. He was a distinguished asura. He had learned all the Vedas. He was an exponent in Maayaa tricks. He was three headed. He had conquered the lower worlds earlier.

He praised Soorapadman and starting advising him thus,
” Imprisoning the Deva will harm us. Harming the Deva will also harm us. Siva had given us all these rare boons.

If he decides to take them away, should we worship him seeking kindness or fight him and lose everything?

Siva is the manifestation of kindness. Those who seek refuge in Him will be saved. The others will perish.

Murugan is Siva himself manifesting as a child. Will fighting with him prove beneficial to us? Which asthram can face Murugan’s spear?

He is the one truth without a beginning or an end, even if he appears as a mere child. Come on let us all go and surrender to him now and be saved .”

14d. வக்ர துண்டர்

தேவர்களின் உணவு யாகங்களின் ஹவிசு.
தேவர் வாடினர் அவிர்பாகம் கிடைக்காமல்

பிரமனிடம் கேட்டனர், “விடிவு காலம் எப்போது?”
பிரமன் கூறினான் அவர்களுக்கு நற் செய்தியை,

“பார்வதி தேவியிடம் தோன்றுவார் விநாயகர்;
பாரில் துன்பம்தீர அழிப்பார் துராசதனை!” என .

துதித்தனர் தேவியை ஒன்று கூடித் தேவர்கள்;
மதித்துக் காட்சி தந்தாள் அன்புடன் பார்வதியும்.

“பதுங்கியுள்ளோம் அசுரனுக்கு அஞ்சி இங்கு!
ஒதுங்கியுள்ளோம் எங்கள் இடங்களில் இருந்து!

வதங்குகின்றோம் வாடி அவிர் பாகம் இன்றி;
வதைக்கிறான் யாக, யக்ஞங்கள் புரிபவரை!

முனிவர்களையும் விட்டு வைக்கவில்லை;
கனிவுடன் காத்தருள்! தேவி நீயே துணை!”

அன்பர்களின் துன்பங்களைக் கேட்டதும்
அன்னையின் மனதில் பெருகியது கோபம்.

அப்போது அவதரித்தார் விநாயக பெருமான்
அவள் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து வக்ரதுண்டராக!

திருமுகங்கள் ஐந்து; திருக்கரங்கள் பத்து;
திருவுள்ளம் மகிழ்ந்து வாரி அணைத்தாள்.

அளித்தாள் தன் சிம்ஹத்தை வாகனமாக;
களித்தனர் தேவர்கள் திரு அவதாரம் கண்டு.

“அபயம் அபயம் பிரானே நீர் எமக்கு!” என
அபயம் அளித்தார் வக்ரதுண்டர் மகிழ்ந்து

சதுரங்க சேனையுடன் சென்றார் போருக்கு;
எதிர் நோக்கிக் காத்திருந்தது அசுரனின் படை.

#44d. VakrathuNdar

Deva live on the Havis offered in the yaagaas and yagnaas. When these two came to a grinding halt, the Deva did not get any food. They went to Brahma and asked him, “When will we get freed from this state of affairs?”

Brahma told them a good news. “Vinayaka will appear from Parvati Devi very soon to kill Duraasadan.” All the Deva meditated and prayed to Parvati and she appeared to them in person.

The Deva related their suffering to Devi. “We are hiding here fearing Duraasadan. We have left the heaven and all our comforts there. Duraasadan has stopped all the yaagaas and yagnaas. So we are starving. He does not spare even the rushis and sages. Devi! you are the one who can save us now! Abhayam! Abhayam!”

Devi’s heart melted on hearing the sufferings of the Deva. Anger swelled in her heart and Vinayaka appeared from her face as VakrathuNdar. He had five beautiful faces and ten mighty arms. Devi was happy to see her son and embraced him.

She presented him with her Simha vaahanam. The Deva were delighted to have witnessed the avatar of VakrathuNdar. They prayed to him seeking abayam. VakrathuNdar went to the war front with his chathuranga sena. The army of the asuran was waiting there in all readiness.

5#27b. ரக்த பீஜன் (2)

“வெறும் பெண்ணல்ல வந்திருப்பவள்!
வெல்லப் படாத சர்வ சக்தி கொண்டவள்.

மஹா மாயை அவள், மஹா தேவி அவள்!
மஹா பிரகிருதி அவள்! மஹா சக்தி அவள்;

நித்தியை அவளே! சக்தியும் அவளே!
சித்தி படைத்தவள்; சித் ரூபிணி அவள்.

காயத்திரி அவள்! கருணைக் கடல் அவள்;
அபயம் அளிப்பவள்; ஆனந்தம் தருபவள்.

சரணம் அடைந்து விடும் அவளிடம்!
மரணம் நெருங்காது எஞ்சிய அசுரரை.”

கோபம் தலைக்கேறியது சும்பாசுரனுக்கு;
“போதும் நிறுத்துங்கள் இந்தப் பிதற்றலை!

தோற்றுப் புறமுதுகிட்டு ஓடி வந்துள்ளீர்கள்;
ஏற்றிப் புகழ்கின்றீர்கள் எதிரி ஆனவளை!

மரண பயம் வந்து விட்டது உங்களுக்கு;
சரணம் அடையச் சித்தம் ஆகி விட்டீர்கள்.

செல்லுங்கள் உடனே பாதாள உலகுக்கு – உயிர்
வெல்லம் என்று எண்ணி அஞ்சுகின்றவர்கள்.

மரணம் யாரை விட்டுவிடும் உலகினில்?
மரணம் விளையாதோ பாதாள உலகத்தில்?

தருமதைக் கைவிடக் கூடாது நாம் எவரும்
மரணத்துக்கு அஞ்சிக் கோழைகள் ஆகி.

ஊழ் எனப் படுவது இறைவன் அல்ல;
ஊழ் என்பது ஜீவனின் வினைப் பயனே.

வினைப் பயன்களை அனுபவிக்க உதவும்
துணைச் செயல்களே முயற்சிகள் ஆகும்.”

5#27b. Raktha Beejan (2)

Those who had run away from the battle field continued to talk to Sumbaasuran.

“It is not an ordinary woman who has come here seated on a lion. She is the Shakti who can not be conquered by anyone.
She is the Mahaa Maayaa. She is the Mahaa Devi. She is the Mahaa Prakruti. She is the Mahaa Shakti.

She is eternal. She is Gaaytree. She is an ocean of mercy. She is chith roopini. She is the giver of abhayam and aanandam.
Surrender to her now so that the rest of the asura clan can survive and escape death in her hands.”

Sumbaasuran became extremely angry. He took them to task and said,”Stop your prattle. You are praising my enemy in front of me. You have run away from the battle field. You are afraid to die.

Those of you who wish to live on may go to Paataalam immediately. Will death spare you if you go to Paataalam? We must perform our duty without fear of death. Fear makes us cowards and fail in out duties.

Fate is not God. Fate is the effect of our own past karma. To experience the effect of our karma, we need to perform some actions and these are called as the efforts.”

7b. சூரபத்மனின் சீற்றம்.

இரணியன் உரைத்ததை செவி மடுத்தான்;
பெருகிய சினத்தால் விரல் நொடித்தான்.

“சிறுவன் முருகனைப் புகழுகின்றாய்!
ஒரு தூதுவனை ஏத்திப் புகலுகின்றாய்!

உனக்கு இவற்றைச் சொன்னது யார்?
உன்னை அச்சத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது யார்?

நான்முகன் நவில்கிறான் அரசவையில்
நாட்பஞ்சாங்கம் நான் கேட்டு மகிழ!

திருமால் தோற்றார் தம்பி தாரகனிடம்!
தினமும் கடல் மீன் தந்தான் இந்திரன்!

மேன்மைகள் தந்த சிவனே வந்தாலும்
மேன்மைகள் அழிவார் அவர் திண்ணம்.

அறிவு இழந்து போய்விட்டாயா நீ?
அச்சம் மிகுந்து போய்விட்டாயா நீ?

நாக்கூசாமல் பகைவனைப் புகழ்ந்து
நமனுலகுக்கு அனுப்ப வைக்காதே!”

4 # 7 b. Soorapadman’s anger.

Soorapadman became very angry and cracked his fingers.

“How dare to talk so highly about Murugan and his messenger?
Who has told you all these things? Who has sowed the seed of fear in your heart? Brahma reads the almanac daily for my pleasure. Vishnu was defeated by my younger brother Taarakan.

Indra used to bring us fish everyday. Even is Siva comes to fight me now, He will get defeated. Have lost your senses?
Are you frightened of the war? If you speak highly of my enemies, I shall send you to yamalokam.”

14e. துராசதன்

“வாழ்வதற்குப் பெற்றுள்ளாய் வரங்களை;
வீழ்வதற்கு வதைக்கின்றாய் தேவர்களை!

சரண் அடைந்தால் மன்னிப்பேன் குற்றத்தை
முரண் பட்டால் அழிப்பேன் உன் சுற்றத்துடன்.”

வக்ரதுண்டர் கூறினார் துராசதனிடம் – ஆயின்
வக்ரதுண்டரை எள்ளி நகையாடினான் அசுரன்.

“யார் என்று நினைத்தாய் என்னைப் பாலகனே?
பார் முழுவதும் வென்று ஆள்கின்றவன் நானே!

அஞ்சுவார்கள் என்னிடம் தேவரும் மூவரும்;
அஞ்சாமல் பேசுகின்றாய் நீ பிஞ்சு பாலகனே! ”

பாண மழையைப் பொழிந்தான் துராசதன்;
பாணங்களை விலக்கியது இறைவன் மழு!

மழுவால் தாக்கினார் அசுரனை இறைவன்,
மழு அழிக்கவில்லை அவன் வஜ்ரகாயத்தை.

பாய்ந்தான் அசுரன் வாளைச் சுழற்றியபடி;
பாய்ந்தவன் நெற்றியில் குத்தினார் ஓங்கி!

பிளந்தது நெற்றி; விழுந்தான் அசுரன்;
பெருகி ஓடியது அங்கு செந்நிற ஆறு.

மயங்கி விட்டான் துராசதன், மாளவில்லை
மயக்கம் தெளிகையில், மயங்கியது மாலை.

‘சிறுவனிடம் அடிபட்டு மயங்கிவிட்டேனா?”
சிறுமையால் மனம் குமுறினான் துராசதன்.

திரும்பினான் அரண்மனைக்கு அன்றிரவு;
திரும்பினான் போர்க்களம் மறுநாட்காலை.

44e. Duraasadan

 VakrathuNdar told Duraasadan, “You got boons in order to live long but you are troubling the Deva to get your life span cut short. Surrender and beg for my pardon and you will live long. If you want a war, I will kill you with all your kith and kin”

Duraasadan laughed at the boy mouthing these words. “Who do you think I am? I am the conqueror and ruler of all the three worlds. Even the Deva and the Trimoorthis are afraid of me. You talk very bravely since you are only a small child”

Duraasadan shot arrows like a rain cloud pouring rain drops. VakrathuNdar destroyed them with his mazhu. He tried to attack Duraasadan with his mazhu but it could not harm the body of the asuran which was as hard as a diamond!

Now the ausran charged on VakrathuNdar with his raised sword. VakrathuNdar punched him on his head very hard. His forehead split and he started bleeding profusely. He fell down in a faint but did not die.

When he came round, already the sun was setting and the war had to stop. He felt ashamed that he fainted due to a blow delivered by a mere child.

He went back to his palace to rest for the night and came back to the war front the next morning.

5#27c. ரக்த பீஜன் (3)

அழைத்தான் சும்பாசுரன் ரக்த பீஜனை உடனே!
பணித்தான் அவனைப் போர்க்களம் செல்வதற்கு.

“ஆசைப் பட்டு விட்டீர்கள் அந்தப் பெண் மீது;
தாசியாக்கி விடுகின்றேன் நான் அவளை உமக்கு.”

விரைந்தான் போர்க்களம் ரக்த பீஜன் அப்போதே;
சிறந்த அசுர வீரர்கள் அவனைப் பின் தொடர்ந்திட.

முழங்கியது தேவியின் வீரச் சங்கொலி!
முழங்கால்கள் நடுங்கின அசுர வீரருக்கு!

அஞ்சவில்லை கொஞ்சமும் ரக்த பீஜன் மட்டும்,
“பிஞ்சுக் குழந்தை என்று எண்ணி விட்டாயா?

சிங்க நாதத்துக்கு அஞ்சுபவனா ரக்த பீஜன்?
சங்கரிக்கவே முடியாது என்னை எவராலும்.

நவரசங்களில் சிறந்தவை இரண்டு உண்டு;
சிருங்கார ரசமும், சாந்த ரசமும் தான் அவை.

கொண்டுள்ளான் சும்பாசுரன் காம ரசம்;
கொண்டுள்ளனர் உலகத்தினர் காம ரசம்.

சுகிக்கின்றனர் விஷ்ணுவும், லக்ஷ்மியும் கூடி.
சுகிக்கின்றனர் சிவனும், பார்வதியும் கூடி.

சுகிக்கின்றனர் பிரமனும், வாணியும் கூடி.
சுகிக்கின்றனர் இந்திரனும், சசியும் கூடி.

கூடல் இன்பத்தை விழைகின்றன விலங்குகள்,
கூடல் இன்பத்தை விழைகின்றன பறவைகள்.

கூடல் இன்பத்தை வெறுத்த முனிவர்களும்
கூடல் இன்பத்தில் இழப்பர் செய்த தவத்தை.

காமம், குரோதம், லோபம் கொண்ட ஒருவர்
காமத்தை வென்று வைராக்கியம் பெறுவாரா?

ஏனோ தொடர்ந்து பேசி வருகிறாய் நீ மட்டும்
ஞான வைராக்கியம் கொண்டவள் போல !

விட்டு விடு உன் இந்த அழகிய நாடகத்தை!
விரும்பி விடு சும்பனை அல்லது நிசும்பனை!"

சிரித்தனர் கலகலவென்று இதைக் கேட்ட
சிம்ஹ வாஹினியும், சாமுண்டி தேவியும்.

5#27c. Raktha Beejan (3)

Sumbaasuran sent for Raktha beejan and commanded him to go and fight with ChaamuNdi. Raktha Beejan said, ” I know you have desired that woman riding on a lion. I shall fetch her here and make her your slave”

He went to meet the two Devis with a large asuraa army. Devi blew her conch and the loud sound made the asuraa army knock-kneed. But Raktha Beejan was not shaken by that loud sound. He spoke to Devi,

“Do you think we are all young children to get frightened by this loud noise? I am Raktha Beejan who can not be killed by anyone.

There are nine emotions called Nava rasa. Of these the most important two are the Srungaara rasa and the Shantha rasa. There is nothing wrong with Sringaara rasa.

Sumban has this rasa for you. Every living thing has the need for this rasa. Vishnu and Lakshmi enjoy pleasures together. So does Siva with Parvati and Brahma with VaaNi. Indra enjoys pleasures with his wife Sasi Devi.

Birds and animals need to mate and enjoy. Even the rushis who renounce the world and all physical pleasures slip from their penance and indulge in lovemaking and lust. We are all filled with Kaama, Krodha, and Lobha. How can we develop vairaagyam?

You always put up an act as though you have attained gnanam and vairaagyam. Cut out your act now. Accept Sumban or Nisumban and enjoy life as the other women do!”

The Devi seated on the lion as well Chamundi Devi burst into peals of laughter on hearing these words.

7c. இரணியன் புறப்படுதல்.

நன்மை பகன்றாலும் பயன் இல்லை.
மேன்மைகள் அழிவது உறுதியானது.

“அறியாமல் பேசிவிட்டேன் தந்தையே!
சிறியேன் பிழையைப் பொருத்தருள்க!

போருக்குப் போகின்றேன் இன்று நானே!”
மாறும் மனத்தை வியந்தான் சூரபத்மன்!

தந்தையின் அனுமதி பெற்றான் மகன்,
தன் மாளிகையைச் சென்றடைந்தான்.

பூண்டான் போர்க்கோலம் இரணியன்.
பூண்டான் தும்பைப் பூ மாலைகளை.

ஆயிரம் மடங்கல்கள் பூட்டிய தேரில்,
ஆயிரம் துணைவர், தலைவருடனும்.

நகரை பூதங்கள் அழிப்பதைக் கண்டு
நாற்புறமும் அனுப்பினான் சேனையை.

போர் மூண்டது அசுரர், பூதர் இடையே.
வீரவாகு பொருதான் இரணியனோடு.

புரிந்தான் இரணியன் மாயப்போர்
பூதப் படைத் தலைவர் நீலருடன்.

அறிவுப் படைக்கலத்தினால் வீரவாகு
அழித்தான் இரணியனின் மாயையை!

பாணங்கள் பறந்தன இரு புறங்களிலும்.
பிணங்கள் விழுந்தன இரு புறங்களிலும்.

கயலாக மாறினான் தெய்வமறை ஓதி!
செயலிழந்து மறைந்தான் கடல் நீரில்!

வெற்றிச் சங்கை வீரவாகு முழங்கிட
ஒற்றர்கள் செய்தி கூற ஓடினர் சூரனிடம்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

4 # 7 c. Hiranyan goes to war.

‘There is no use talking to my father. His fate is sealed!’ Hiranyan told himself! Hiranyan then spoke to his father with reverence,
“Please forgive my immature talk. I will go to the war today”
Soorapadman was amazed at the speed with which the young prince had changed his mind.

He gave him his blessings. Hiranyan went to his palace. He got ready for the war. He wore his armor and flower garlands. His chariot was drawn by a thousand lions.

When he saw the demons demolishing the city he sent his army in all the four directions. A terrible war broke out between the asura and the demons. Hiranyan resorted to war by trechery.

Veerabaau shot his arrow of knowledge which could break the effects of maayai. Arrows flew from both the sides. Dear warriors fell on both the sides.

When defeat was imminent, Hiranyan transformed himself into a fish and disappeared in to the sea. Veerabaahu blew his conch as a mark of his victory. The messengers hurried to convey the news to their king Soorapadman.

14f. அஞ்ஞானம்

புதிய நாள் துவங்கியதும் வந்தான்
புதிய படையுடன் துராசதன் போருக்கு!

விரும்பவில்லை வக்ரதுண்டர் நீண்ட போரை.
வீழ்த்தினார் அசுர சேனையை மளமளவென!

தரித்தார் வக்ரதுண்டர் பிரமாண்ட வடிவம்!
பதித்தார் தன் பாதத்தை துராசதன் சிரத்தில்.

சரண ஸ்பரிசம் செய்தது பல விந்தைகளை;
முரண்பட்டவனின் அஞ்ஞானம் நீங்கியது!

துதித்தான் வக்ரதுண்டரை பக்தியுடன்
பணித்தார் வக்ரதுண்டர் கருணையுடன்,

“காசி நகரில் மேற்கு வாயிலில் – எமது
காலடியில் இருக்கும் பேறு பெறுவாய்!

பாதகங்கள் செய்யும் துஷ்டர்களை நீ
சோதனைக்கு உள்ளாக்குவாய்!” என்றார்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

44f. The boon

On the next day Duraasadan came to the battle field with a fresh army. VakrathuNdar did want to prolong the war. He demolished the army of the enemy fast.

The he assumed a huge form and planted his foot on the head of Duraasadan. The touch of the Lord’s foot did wonders in Duraasadan! True knowledge dawned in him and his ignorance vanished.

He paid obeisance to VakrathuNdar. His crimes were forgiven and a boon was bestowed on him by VakrathuNdar.

“You may live near the Western gate of Kasi and take to task the miscreants in the city of Kasi.”

5#28a. விவித சக்திகள் (1)

சிரித்தாள் தேவி கலகல வென்று – பரி
ஹசித்தாள் ரக்தபீஜனைப் பலவாறு ஏசி.

“முன்னரே சொன்னேன் இங்கு வந்தவர்களிடம்
என்ன எதிர்பார்கின்றேன் என் நாயகனிடம் என.

உருவத்தில், வலிமையில், செல்வ வளத்தில் எனக்குப்
பொருத்தமானவனாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என் நாயகன்.

வெல்ல வேண்டும் என்னுடன் போரிட்டு – நான்
செல்ல வேண்டும் மணமேடைக்கு அவனுடன்.

வாய்ப் பேச்சினாலேயே வென்றுவிட முடியாது;
வாட் பேச்சையும் கொஞ்சம் காட்டு!” என்றாள்.

கோப வெறியுடன் எய்தான் ரக்த பீஜ அசுரன்
மேக மழையைப் போன்ற பல பாணங்களை.

எய்தான் சரமழையினைச் சிங்கத்தின் மீது;
எய்தாள் தேவி அவற்றுக்கு எதிர் பாணங்கள்.

விழுந்தான் கீழே மூர்ச்சித்த ரக்த பீஜன் – அவன்
விழுவது கண்டு பதறினர் அசுரப்படை வீரர்கள்.

அழத் தொடங்குகையில் எழுந்தான் ரக்த பீஜன்;
அங்கிருந்தவர்களுக்கு அவன் ஆணையிட்டான்.

“காம்போஜ தேசத்தில் உள்ள ராக்ஷசர்களையும்
காலகேயர்களையும் அழையுங்கள் உதவிக்கு!”

கூச்சலிட்டாள் பத்ரகாளி செவிகள் செவிடுபட!
கூச்சலுடன் இணைந்தன மூன்று வித தொனிகள்!

சுண்டிய வில்லின் நாணொலி பரவியது;
உண்டாக்கிய சங்க நாதமும் விரவியது;

கர்ஜித்தது சிங்கமும் தன் பங்குக்கு- நடந்தது
உற்சாகமான போர் தொடர்ந்து பல நாட்கள்.

5#28a. Vivida Sakthis (1)

Devi let out peals of laughter and mocked at Raktha Beejan. “I have already told everyone whom Sumbaasuran had sent to me, the qualities I expect in my husband. He must be suitable for me in appearance, strength and wealth.

He must be able to defeat me in a war. I will walk to the wedding platform ony with such a man. Do not dream that you can defeat me by mere talks and words. Let me see your expertise in warfare.”

Raktha Beejan lost his temper and shot a cloud of arrows on Devi’s lion. Devi shot arrows to block them. Raktha Beejan fainted and fell down much to the agitation of the asuraa warriors.

He came round almost immediately an ordered his men,”Bring the asuraas from Kaamboja desam and the Kaalakeyaas to help us in fighting this war.”

Badra Kaali made a deafening noise. Three different sounds merged with her terrifying scream to make it even more unbearable.

One of them was the twang of Devi’s bow, the second was the loud sound made by blowing her conch and the third was the roar of her lion.

A terrific war followed and went on for several days.
