5#24d. Dumralochanan (2)

Dumralochanan went to meet the Jagan Mohini and saw her in a flower garden. He conveyed her his message,

“Sumbaasuran heard about your beauty and became infatuated with you. Sugreevan told him about the war you were referring to.

You meant the war of love between a man and a woman. He did not understand the symbolism. I explained it to our king.

A war of valour can take place only between two male members. But between a man and a woman only a war of love is possible.

Kali can be a witnes for you. Enjoy all the pleasures with Sumbaasuran. Do not trouble your delicate body by indulging in the war fought with real weapons.”

5b. பானுகோபன் தூது.

மதில் புறத்தே வந்து சேர்ந்தான் பானுகோபன்,
குதிரை முகங்கள் ஆயிரம் கொண்ட தூதனை

முருகன் பாசறைக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தான்;
“கூறுவாய் வீரவாகுவிடம் இங்ஙனம்!

வந்துள்ளான் பானுகோபன் போருக்கு!
நொந்து ஓடி ஒளிவான் என எண்ணாதே!”

விரைந்து சென்றான் தூதுவன் பாசறை;
உரைத்தான் சேதியை வீரவாகுவிடம்;

“உன் உயிரைக் கவர்ந்து செல்வதற்கு
இன்றைக்கு வருவான் பானுகோபன்.

விரைந்து போருக்குப் புறப்பட்டு நீ!”
உரைத்த தூதுவனுக்குக் கிடைத்த பதில்

“அவன் உயிரைக் கவர்ந்து கொள்ள நான்
அவனைத் தேடி வருவேன் எனக் கூறு!”

இளவல்கள், படைத் தலைவர்களுடன் கூடி
அழகன் முருகன் அடிபணிந்தான் வீரவாகு.

தூதுவன் வந்த சேதியை அறிந்து கொண்டு
மாதவன் மருகன் கூறினான் இங்ஙனம்.

“பானுகோபனுடன் போர் புரிவாய் நீ!
தான் ஏவும் படைக்கலன்களை எதிர்த்து

நீயும் ஏவுவாய் தக்க படைக்கலன்களை.
மாயையை வந்து நீக்கும் என் வேற்படை.”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷிரமணி .

4 # 5 b. Baanukoban’s messenger.

Bhaanukoban reached the encircling wall. He sent a messenger who had a thousand horse faces to Veerabaahu.

“Tell Veerabaahu that Bhaanukoban will kill him in today’s war! Let him not think that I will run away today also!”

The messenger hurried to convey the message. The reply he got from Veerabaahu was,

“Tell Bhaanukoban that Veerabaahu will come to kill him in today’ s war!”
He then went with his younger brothers and other army generals and paid obeisance to Murugan.

Murugan knew about the visit of the messenger and the message conveyed by him. He told Veerabaahu,

“You fight with Bhaanukoban today. Just shoot the right asthram to annul each of his asthrams. My spear will come and remove the maayai.”

13b. கறுப்புக் குதிரை

சக்தியர் எண்மரும் எதிர்த்தனர் அசுரனின்
சக்தி வாய்ந்த தளபதிகள் எண்மரை போரில்.

ரத்த ஆறு ஓடியது செந்நீராகப் பெருகி!
சுத்த வீரர்கள் குவிந்தனர் மலைகளாக!

தளபதியார் மாண்டனர் தேவியர் கைகளில்;
தலைவர்கள் இல்லாத படை சிதறி ஓடியது.

தேவாந்தகன் தாக்கினான் தேவியர் எண்மரை.
தேவிகள் அங்கே செயலற்றுப் போய்விட்டனர்.

தோற்றுவித்தாள் புத்தி தேவி ஒரு சக்தியை!
சாற்றினாள் “காப்பாற்று தேவியர் எண்மரை!”

அட்டஹாசம் செய்த சக்தியைக் கண்டதும்
அச்சம் அடைந்தனர் அசுரனின் படைவீரர்கள்.

வாரி வீசிக் கொன்றாள் அசுரரை அந்த சக்தி.
வாரி விழுங்கி விட்டாள் தேவாந்தகனையும்.

நுண்ணிய ரூபம் எடுத்தான் தேவாந்தகன்.
பெண்ணின் மூக்கு வழியே வெளிப் பட்டான்.

ஓடினான் தந்தையிடம் அறிவுரைக்காக.
நாடினான் போரில் வெல்லும் உபாயம்.

“மஹா மந்திரம் உள்ளது ஒன்று! அதை நீ
ஹோமத்தில் ஜபித்து ஒரு யாகம் செய்தால்,

வெளிப்படும் அழகிய குதிரை குண்டத்தில்.
அளிக்கும் அது போரில் வெற்றி வாகையை.”

யாகம் செய்தான் தேவாந்தகன் விரைந்து;
யாகம் தந்தது கறுப்பு நிறக் குதிரையினை.

தோன்றினர் படைவீரர்கள் குதிரையுடன்;
தோன்றின ஆயுதங்கள் படைவீரர்களுடன்.

ஏறினான் யாகப்பயனான அப்பரியின் மீது.
போரில் பங்குகொள்ள விரைந்தான் அசுரன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

43b. The black horse

The eight Devis fought with the eight valorous generals of the asura army. The dead bodies of the soldiers were heaped like mountains and blood flowed as a red river. The eight generals got killed by the eight Devis. The asura army ran in confusion without a leader to lead it.

Devaantakan fought with the eight Devis and they were unable to fight any more. Buddhi Devi created one more Shakti and commanded her to go and save the eight Devis. The new Shakti infused fear in the hearts of the asura army.

She killed the asuras by throwing them around and by swallowing them in mouthfuls. She swallowed Devaantakan also. He changed to the size of an atom and came out through her nose. He went to consult his father as to how to win in this war.

His father told him,”There is one mahaa mantra. If you do japam of that mantra and perform a yaagaa, a horse will appear from the yaaga kundam. It
will surely make you victorious.”

Devaantakan performed the yaagaa in a hurry and a shining black horse emerged from the yaaga kundam. Many soldiers appeared from the yaaga kundam and along with them many deadly weapons also.

Devaatakan sat on the black horse and rushed to the battlefield immediately.

5#25a. காளிகா தேவி

காம வசனங்களைக் கூறிவிட்டு நின்றவனைக்
காளிகா தேவி எள்ளி நகையாடிக் கூறினாள்.

“கட்டியம் கூற வந்தாயா சும்பன் வரவுக்கு?
முட்டாளாக, முரடானாகத் தூது வந்துள்ளாய்!

ஒன்று போர் செய் எங்கள் தேவியோடு!
அன்றேல் சென்று விடு சும்ப நிசும்பரிடம்.

இருப்பிடம் திரும்புவாள் தேவி – தன் மனக்
கருத்தினை நிறைவேற்றிய பிறகே அறிவாய்!

ஏற்குமா பெண் சிங்கம் காம வசப்பட்டாலும்
ஏற்பில்லாத சிறு நரியைத் தன் நாயகனாக?

நாடுமா காமதேனு காட்டெருமை ஒன்றை?
ஒடிவிடு நீ உன் அரசர்களிடம்!” என்றாள்.

“கோரக் கரிய உருவம் கொண்டுள்ளாய் காளீகா!
கோர உருவத்தை மறந்து எள்ளி நகையடுகிறாய்!

கொன்று விடுவேன் உன்னையும், சிங்கத்தையும்;
சென்று விடுவேன் இவளளைக் கவர்ந்து கொண்டு!

குறைத்து விடும் காமச் சுவையினை பலவந்தம்;
பொறுத்துப் போகிறேன் அந்தக் காரணத்தினால்.

வீம்பு பேசுவதில் வல்லவள் நீ என்றறிவேன்
அம்பு எய்வதில் காட்டு உந்தன் திறமையை!”

வில்லை வளைத்து அம்பு மழை பொழிந்தாள்;
“வெல்லட்டும் காளிகா தேவி!” வாழ்த்தினர் அமரர்.

தும்ரலோசனன் எய்தான் எதிர் பாணங்களை;
தூள் பறந்தது தொடர்ந்த கடும் போரினால் !

நாசம் செய்தாள் காளிகா கரி, பரி, கழுதைகளை!
மோசமான கோபத்துடன் தாக்கினான் அசுரன்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#25a. Kaalikaa Devi

Dumralochanan spoke all these words and stood there awaiting Devi’s reply. Kaalikaa Devi made fun of him and said, “So you came here merely to announce the arrival of your king Sumban.

You have come here as a fool and a crude fellow on your mission. Either you fight with our Devi or go back to your kings Sumban and Nisumban. Devi will go back only after carrying out her wishes and plans.

Will a lioness choose a cunning fox as its mate? Will the divine cow Kaamadhenu opt to live with a buffalo? Run back to your kings now”

Dumralochanan spoke to Kaalikaa now, “You are dark coloured and terrifying to look at. And in spite of it, you mock at me forgetting those facts.

I will kill you and this lion and carry this woman back with me. Forceful love making will ruin the joy in it. That is the only reason I am putting up with all your nonsense.

I know you are very talented in talking. Now let me see your talent in archery!” Kaalikaa started raining arrows on Dumralochanan. The Devaas blessed her saying “May Kaalikaa win!”

Dumralochanan shot his arrows to block Kaalikaa’s arrows. Kaalikaa destroyed Dumralochanan’s elephants, horses and ponies. He became mad with anger and started attacking Kaalikaa with extreme ferocity.

5c. படைகள் கலந்தன.

படைகள் இரண்டும் கலந்தன இரண்டு
கடல்கள் என்னும்படிப் போர்க்களத்தில்!

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் வருணப் படை.
தேவர் செலுத்தினார் விழுங்கும் தீப்படை.

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் தீப் படையை
அழித்துக் கெடுக்க வல்ல காற்றுப் படை.

தேவர் செலுத்தினார் காற்றுப் படையை
தோற்கச் செய்யும் பாம்புப் படையை.

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் பாம்புப் படையை
அழித்து ஒழிக்க வல்ல கருடப் படையை.

தேவர் செலுத்தினார் கருடப் படையை
தோற்கச் செய்யும் நந்திப் படையை.

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் யமப் படையை.
அழித்து ஒழித்தது அதை நந்திப் படை.

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் நான்முகப் படை.
அது வணங்கி மீண்டது நந்திப் படையை.

அவுணன் செலுத்தினான் நாராயணப் படை.
அது நந்திப் படையுடன் போரிட்டு நின்றது.

செலுத்தினான் வீரவாகு வீரபத்திரப்படை.
தொலைந்து ஒழிந்தது நாராயணப் படை.

செலுத்தினான் அவுணன் சிவப் படையை.
செலுத்தினார் வீரவாகு சிவப் படையை.

சிவப்படைகள் இரண்டும் எதிரெதிர் நின்று
சினத்துடன் ஒன்றை ஒன்று பொருதலாயின!

4 # 5 c. The war commenced.

The armies moved in and it appeared
as though two seas were merging together.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Varuna.
Veerabaahu shot the asthram of Fire to annul it.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Wind to fight Fire.
Veerabaahu shot the asthram of Snake to fight the Wind.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Garuda to fight the Snake. Veerabaahu shot the asthram of Nandhi to fight the Garuda.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Yama.
Nandhi asthram vanquished the asthrm of Yama.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Brahma.
It paid obeisance to the asthram of Nandhi and went back.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Naaraayana.
It fought well with the asthram of Nandhi.

Veerabaahu shot the asthram of Veera Badran which defeated the asthram of Naaraayana.

Bhaanukoban shot the asthram of Siva.
Veerabaahu also shot the asthram of Siva.

The two asthram of Siva were on opposite sides.
The two asthrams fought valiantly with each other!

13c. போஜன சாலை

எதிர்த்தனர் தேவாந்தகனை ஒன்றாகக் குரூரன்,
எண்மர் சக்திகளுடன் அந்த பிரமாண்ட சக்தியும்.

அசுரர் படையைச் சிதறிடித்தது தேவர்கள் படை;
அசுரர் பலம் அதிகரித்தது கறுப்புக் குதிரையால்!

தடுத்தான் தேவாந்தகன் தேவர் அஸ்திரங்களை;
விடுத்தான் தேவர்படை மீது தன் அஸ்திரங்களை.

தோற்றுவிக்க விரும்பினான் பெண் பூதத்தை;
தோன்றும் யாக குண்டத்திலிருந்து அப்பூதம்.

மயக்கினான் தேவரை மோகன அஸ்திரத்தால்;
மயக்கியது ஆடல், பாடலால் கந்தர்வ அஸ்திரம்!

மறந்தனர் போர்க்களம் என்பதை தேவர்கள்;
துறந்தனர் போர்த் தொழிலை முற்றிலுமாக!

யாகம் செய்தான் யுத்தகளத்தில் தேவாந்தகன்;
யாகத்தின் முடிவில் வெளிப்பட்டது பெண்பூதம் .

“ஆகாரம் வேண்டும்” அலறியது அது பசியால்;
“ஆகாரம் அதோ!” எனக் காட்டினான் தேவர்களை.

வாரி வரி விழுங்கலானது பூதம் தேவர்களை;
போர்களம் மாறியது ஒரு போஜனசாலையாக!

ஞான அஸ்திரத்தை எய்தார் மகோற்கடர்,
ஞான அஸ்திரம் போக்கியது மயக்கத்தை.

மயக்கம் தெளிந்தது, ஆடல் பாடல் முடிந்தது;
சுய உணர்வு மீண்டும் பெற்றனர் தேவர்கள்.

பூதத்தைத் தாக்கியது புத்தி தேவியின் சக்தி!
பூதத்தை அழித்தது புத்தி தேவியின் சக்தி.

#43c. Boojanasaalaa

Krooran, the eight devis and the new Shakti attacked Devaantakan together. The asuras had become stronger because of the black horse obtained from the yaagaa kundam.

Naraantakan stopped the asthrams fired by the Deva. He shot asthrams on the Devas. He wanted to create a female Bootham in the war-field. He would have to perform a yagnaa then and there.

He shot his mohana asthram which made the Deva become deluded. The gandharva asthram made them listen to music and witness beautiful dance.

The Deva forgot that they were in a battle field and they stopped fighting completely.

Devaantakan used this opportunity to perform a yaagaa in the battle field . A huge female bootham emerged. It shouted, “Give me food! I am hungry”

Devaantakan pointed out the Devas and said, “There is your food”
The bootham started swallowing the Devas in mouthfuls. The war field became a dining hall. Mahorkadar shot his gnaana assthram. It broke the effect of the other asthrams fired by Devaantakan.

The music and the dance stopped. The Deva came out of their delusions. The Shakti created by Buddhi Devi tore apart the bootham created by Devaantakan.

5#25b. யுத்தம்

உடைத்தாள் ரதத்தை! சிதைத்தாள் அசுரர்களை!
ஊதினாள் வெற்றிச் சங்கினைக் காளிகா தேவி!

ஏளனம் செய்து நெருங்கிய தும்ரலோசனன்
எரிந்து சாம்பல் ஆனான் ஒரு ஹூங்காரத்தில்!

அலறியடித்துக் கொண்டு பின் வாங்கினர் அசுரர்.
மலர்களைச் சொரிந்தனர் வானிலிருந்து அமரர்.

குவிந்து கிடந்தன இறந்த கரி, பரி, கழுதைகள்
குழுமின உண்பதற்கு நாய், நரி, காக்கைகள்.

வெற்றிச் சங்கொலி கேட்டான் சும்பாசுரன்;
வெளியே வந்து கண்டான் எஞ்சிய வீரரை.

“எங்கே தும்ரலோசனன்? எங்கே அந்தப்பெண்?
எங்கே அசுர சேனை? எவர் முழங்கினார் சங்கை?”

“பஸ்பமாக்கி விட்டாள் தும்ரலோசனனைக் காளீகா;
பயந்து ஓடிவிட்டனர் அசுர வீரர்கள் களம் விடுத்து.

சங்கொலித்தது காளிகா தேவி போர் முடிவில் – அது
இங்கொலிக்கிறது இடைவிடாமல் நீண்டு, உரக்க.

கொண்டாடுகின்றனர் அமரர் ஆனந்தமாக!
திண்டாடுகின்றனர் அசுரர் அச்சம் மேலிட!

மாண்டு போனான் தும்ரலோசனன் ஹூங்காரத்தில்
மாண்டு போயின அவன் கரிகள், பரிகள், கழுதைகள்.

கான சுந்தரி எங்கே என்று கேட்கின்றீர்கள் மன்னா!
தானொருத்தியாக அவள் வந்தது மிகவும் விந்தை!

சிங்காரமாக அமர்ந்துள்ளாள் தன் சிங்கத்தின் மீது.
சிறிதும் இல்லை அவளிடம் அச்சம் மடம் நாணம்.

தேவையில்லை அவளுக்குப் படைவீரர் – எனினும்
தேவர்கள் உள்ளனர் அவளுக்கு உதவுவதற்கு.”

5#25b. The War!

Kaalikaa Devi broke Dumralochanan’s chariot and killed many asuraa warriors. She then blew her conch of victory. Dumralochanan came near her mocking at her. Kaalika burned him down to ashes by uttering a loud Hoonkaaram.

The asuraa army ran in utter confusion. Devaas rained flowers from the sky. The dead animlas lay in heaps there. Wild dogs, foxes and crows gathered to eat their bodies.

Sumban heard the victorius sound of the conch and came out to receive his warriors. He was shocked to see a handful of asuraas there – who had escaped from the bettle field.

He damanded to know from them, “Where is Dumralochanan? Where is the rare beautiful woman? Where is my army ? Who blew the conch of Victory?” His warriors answered,

“Kaalikaa Devi reduced Dumralochanan to ashes just by her Hoonkaaram. Our army ran away in utter confusion. Kaalika Devi is blowing the conch of victory. The Devaas are celebrating the victory and the asuraas are shivering with fear.

Dumralochanan got killed in one Hoonkaaram. Many elephants, horses and donkeys also got killed. The rare beauty who has stolen your heart is seated on her pet lion.

She does not know the meaning of the word fear. She does not possess any womanly qualities. She does not an army. Yet the Devaas are ready to help her if she needs help!”

5d. ஊழித் தீ.

எதிர் எதிர் நின்ற இரு படைக்கலன்கள்
எவரும் கண்டிராத விந்தைகள் புரிந்தன!

ஊழிக் காற்று ஒன்று தோன்றி வீசியது;
ஊழித் தீ ஒன்று தோன்றிப் பரவியது!

புகையும், நஞ்சும் தோன்றிப் பரவின;
பூதக் கூட்டங்கள் உற்பத்தி ஆகின!

உற்பத்தி ஆயின காளித் தொகைகள்;
உற்பத்தி ஆயின வைரவர் கூட்டங்கள்!

வெளிப்பட்டனர் வீரத் திருமடந்தையர்;
வெளிப்பட்டன பலப் பேய்க் கூட்டங்கள்!

தோன்றி வெளிப் பட்டனர் காலர்கள்;
தோன்றின காரிருளும், மாயையும்!

தோன்றின அளவில்லாத கடல்கள்;
தோன்றின அளவில்லாத முகில்கள்!

தோன்றின பல பாம்புக் கூட்டங்கள்;
தோன்றின பல ஐயனார் படைகள்!

பொழிந்தன கற்கள், தீக் கொள்ளிகள்;
மழு, இடி, உருளை, வேல், கணைகள்!

ஏழு கடல்களும் வற்றிப் போயின;
ஏழு மலைகளும் கரிந்து போயின!

மடிந்தன கடல்வாழ் உயிரினங்கள்;
இடிந்தது வான்! பொடிந்தன தாரகை!

எரிந்தது நிலம்; பொரிந்தது மேருமலை!
அழிந்தன கதிரவனின் தேர்க் குதிரைகள்!

வெருண்டனர் உலகத்தின் உயிர்கள்;
மருண்டனர் வீரவாகுவின் இளவல்கள்!

புரண்டனர் அங்கு அவுண மறவர்கள்;
உருண்டன அங்கு கரிகளும், பரிகளும்!

பிழைத்து நின்றான் அங்கு பானுகோபன்;
அழைத்துக் கொண்டான் தன் படைக்கலனை.

 4 # 5 d. Pralayaagni.

The two asthrams of Siva fought each other. Things which have never been witnessed started happening there!

A terrible wind swept over the place. Pralayaagni swept though the place.

Poisonous smoke swept tough the area. Several gangs of demons appeared.

Several groups of Kalis, Vairavar, war goddesses and Kaalaas appeared there.Total darkness and Maayaa appeared there.

Many seas appeared. Many clouds appeared. Poisonous snakes and ayyanaars appeared.

Stones, burning splinters, mazhus, thunder, discusses, spears and arrows fell from the sky.

The seven seas dried up. The seven mountains got charred completely. All the sea living creatures got killed. The sky fell apart and the stars exploded.

The earth burned and the mount Meru popped in the intense heat. The horses in Sun’s chariot were destroyed. All the living things got scared.

The eight younger brothers of Veerabaahu got dazed. The asura sena fell down and rolled on the earth. The elephants and horses tumbled down.

But nothing happened to Bhaanukoban. He stood unharmed he called back his Siva asthram.

13d. தேவாந்தகன் வதம்

வெற்றி, தோல்வி இல்லாமல் நீண்டது போர்,
வெறுப்படைந்தனர் விஷ்ணு, பிரமன், தேவர்.

‘அதிகரிக்கின்றது அசுரனது பராக்கிரமம்,
அழிவு காலம் அவனுக்கு எப்போது வரும்?’

“தேவரீர் பொறுப்பது எதற்கோ அறியோம்!
தேவாந்தகனை அழிக்க வேண்டும் தாங்கள்.”

யுத்த களத்தில் இறங்கினார் மகோற்கடர்,
மெத்தச் சினம் கொண்டான் தேவாந்தகன்.

அசுர உறவினரைக் கொன்ற சிறுவனை
அஸ்திரங்களால் பலவற்றால் அடித்தான்.

தடுத்தார் மகோற்கடர் போரில் அசுரன்
விடுத்த பாணங்களை, பாணங்களால்.

வாயு அஸ்திரம், மற்றும் கருட அஸ்திரம்,
வருண அஸ்திரம், மற்றும் சர்ப்ப அஸ்திரம்,

மோகன அஸ்திரம் தரவில்லை ஒரு பயனும்
தேவாந்தகன் அவற்றைப் போரில் விடுத்தபோது .

பாசுபதாஸ்திரத்தை விடுத்தான் தேவாந்தகன்.
பாசுபதாஸ்திரத்தை விடுத்தார் மகோற்கடர்.

விண்ணிலே மோதிச் சண்டையிட்ட பின்னர்
வீணே திரும்பிவிட்டன இரு அஸ்திரங்களும்.

‘கொல்வது அல்லது கொல்லப் படுவது’ என்று
பொல்லாத தேவாந்தகன் முடிவு செய்தான்.

தண்டத்தை ஓங்கி ஓடி வந்த அசுரனைத்
தந்தத்தை உடைத்துக் குத்தினார் சிரத்தில்.

ஆயிரம் சுக்கல்கள் ஆகிவிட்டது அவன் சிரம்.

43d. Devaantakan

 The war prolonged and went on for a long time with neither victory nor defeat to any of the two sides. Vishnu, Brahma and the other Devas lost their patience.

“The strength of Devaantakan seems to be increasing. When will his atrocities end?” The worried thi king on this line. They told Mahorkadar, ” We do not know why you are waiting or for what you are waiting! You must destroy Devaantakan now!”

Mahorkadar entered the battle field now. Devaantakan blew his top at the sight of the little boy who had managed to kill all his kith and kin so effortlessly.

He shot several powerful asthras on Mahorkadar who nullified them with the proper asthras. Vaayu asthram, Varuna asthram, Garuda asthram, Sarpa asthram and Mohana asthram were all wasted there.

Devaantakan fired the paasupadaasthram. Mahorkadar did likewise and the two asthrams fought in midair for some time in vain and went back to their owners.

Devaantakan decided to ‘kill or get killed ‘ by Mahorkadar now. He charged onto Mahorkadar with his dandam raised and ready to attack. Mahorkadar broke his tusk and pierced his head and it exploded into a thousand pieces.

The asuran Devantakan fell down dead and his jeevan merged with the god in the form of a jyothi.

5#25c. இரு சகோதரர்கள்

“செய்யுங்கள் மந்திராலோசனை மந்திரிகளுடன்!
செய்ய வேண்டியவை இவை இரண்டில் ஒன்றே!

முன்னின்று போர் செய்ய வேண்டும் பெண்களுடன்;
பின்வாங்கிச் சென்றுவிட வேண்டும் பாதாளலோகம்.”

பதில் ஒன்றும் கூறவில்லை சும்பாசுரன் இதற்கு;
திகில் அடைந்து அழைத்தான் தனது இளவலை.

“சாம்பல் ஆக்கிவிட்டாள் தும்ரலோசனனைக் காளிகா!
சாகாத வீரர்கள் வந்துள்ளனர் குற்றுயிருடன் மீண்டு!

பேசுகின்றார்கள் பெருமையாகக் காளியைக் குறித்து!
பேசுகின்றார்கள் தேவி காளிக்குச் சங்கொலிப்பதாக!

ஒன்றுமே தோன்றவில்லை என் சிற்றறிவுக்கு- பாதாளம்
சென்றுவிடுவோமா? அன்றிச் செல்வோமா போருக்கு?”

“சரியல்ல அண்ணா ! மனம் நொந்து துயருறுவது;
சரியாகும் அந்த பெண்ணைப் போரில் வெல்வது!

செல்வேன் நான் இப்போதே போர்க்களம் – அங்கே
வெல்வேன் அந்த அஹங்காரியை என் வலிமையால்!”

“செல்ல வேண்டாம் தம்பி நீ அவளுடன் போருக்கு;
செல்லட்டும் சண்ட முண்டர்கள் இப்போது போருக்கு!

சண்டி ராணியைப் போரில் அடக்கி, மடக்கிப் பிடிக்க
சண்ட முண்டர்களே சாலவும் சிறந்தவர்கள் ஆவர்!

முயலைப் பிடிக்க யானை செல்ல வேண்டுமா?
மங்கையைப் பிடிக்கத் தளபதிகள் போதுமே!”

விளித்தான் சண்ட முண்டர்களைத் தன்னிடம்;
அளித்தான் போர்க்களம் செல்லும் பணியினை!

“கரிய நிறமும், கர்வமும் படைத்த காளியை
சிறிதும் தயவு இன்றி நசுக்கிவிடும் போரில்.

சிங்கத்தின் மேல் உள்ள சிங்காரியை மட்டும்
அங்கம் பழுதின்றிக் கொண்டு வாரும் என்னிடம்.”

5#25c. The two brothers

The asura warriors who managed to escape from Kaali told Sumban this,”There are two courses of action open to us now. Either we have to fight with those two women or we have to retreat to Paataala lokam.”

Sumban did not reply anything. He got very worried and sent for his younger brother Nisumban. He told Nisumban,”Kaali had burned down Dumralochanan to ashes. The few warriors who managed to excape have returned here barely alive.

They sing the praise of Kaali. They say that Devi herself blew the conch of victory for Kaali. I am confused and unable to come to any decision. Shall we go to the war or shall we go back to Paataalam?”

Nisumban consoled Sumban,'”There is no need to worry so much about these trivial matters. We can’t go back to Paataalam. We need to go and fight with those two women. I myself will go and subdue those proud and arrogant women and bring them here”

Sumban told Nisumban now, “Neither you nor I need go to the war now. Our valorous Chandan and Mundan will easily win over those two women, capture them and bring them here to us. An elephant is not needed to conquer a tiny rabbit. ”

Sumban sent for Chandan and Mundan and instructed them thus, ” Go to the war front. Kill that dark colored Kaali without any mercy. Bring to me the woman seated on the lion safely and unhurt!”

5e. மாயப் படைக்கலம்.

தன்னைச் சூழ்ந்து நின்றிருந்த படைகள்
ஒன்றும் காணப் பெறவில்லை அவுணன்;

தனியாளாகி ஏங்கினான் பானுகோபன்;
இனிச் செய்வது ஏதென்று அறிகிலன்!

திரும்பி விட்டது சிவப்படைக் கலமும்
ஒருவனாக நின்றால் அழிவது உறுதி!

உருவத்தை மறைத்து எழுந்தான் வானில்;
மறைந்தவனை எள்ளி நகைத்தன பூதங்கள்!

“அன்றும் நான் தோற்று ஓடி மறைந்தேன்!
இன்றும் நான் தோற்று ஓடி மறைந்தால்

யாவரும் இகழ்ந்து பேசுவர் என்னை!
எந்தையும் வெறுப்பார் என் வீரத்தை!

ஆதவனைச் சிறைப் பிடித்துப் பெற்ற
கோதற்ற புகழ் மங்கி மறைந்துவிடும்.

பழிச் சொற்கள் பேசிட அனுமதியேன்!
இழிச் செயல் செய்தேனும் வெல்வேன்!

மறைந்து நின்று இவர்களை வெல்வேன்!”
விரைந்து துதித்தான் மாயப் படைக்கலனை.

“பகைவர்களின் அறிவைக் கெடுத்தும்,
நகைப்பவர்களின் உயிரைக் குடித்தும்,

நன்னீர்க் கடலில் உடல்களை வீசியும்,
பன்னீர்க் மழையில் என்னை நனை!”

மாயப் படைக்கலன் மண்ணுக்கு வந்தது!
மயக்கி வீழ்தியது பூதக் கூட்டத்தை.

நூறாயிரம் வீரர்களுடன் கூட ஒன்பது
பேராண்மைப் படைத் தலைவர்களையும்.

உயிர்களைப் பறிக்க முடியில்லை - அதனால்
உயிருடன் சுமந்து சென்றது அவர்களை!

ஆறு கடல்களையும் தாண்டிய பின்னர்
அவர்களை வீசியது நன்னீர்க் கடலில்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
KANDA PURAANAM - PORPURI KAANADAM

4 # 5 e. Victory by sorcery.

Bhaanukoban stood all alone in the battle field. He did not know what to do! The Siva asthram shot by him had returned to him. He would surely be destroyed if he stood there all alone.

He became invisible and rose into the sky. The army of demons ridiculed him for disappearing again.

“I ran away on the first day! If I run away today, I will ridiculed all my life. My father would not think very highly of my valor.

The fame and name earned by me by capturing the Sun will be lost forever. I will not allow anyone to ridicule me. I will rather win using sorcery.”

He remembered the asthram given by Maayaa.

“Go forth and cause delusion in the minds of the army of demons. Kill them all. Throw their bodies in the fresh water sea and make me feel happy!”

The asthram deluded and confused the minds of all the soldiers of the demon army as well as their nine generals.

It could not kill them. So it carried them alive all the way up to the fresh water sea and tossed them into the sea water alive.
