5#31c. சும்பாசுரன் வதம் (3)

“வீரமங்கையே! என் வந்தாய் போர்க்களம்?
வீரம் ஆண்களின் லக்ஷணம் என்றறியாயோ?

மங்கையர் போர்க்களம் வேறு ஒன்று உண்டு;
தங்க உடலுக்கு ஏற்றது அந்தப் போர்க்களம்.

கண்கள் அம்புகள், புருவங்கள் விற்கள்,
காம லீலைகளே சிருங்கார ஆயுதங்கள்;

காமக் கலையில் தேர்ந்த புருஷன் குரு,
கலவி இச்சையே ஏறிச் செல்லும் ரதம்;

மந்த வார்த்தைகள் ஒலிக்கும் முரசு;
சந்தனப் பூச்சுக்களே போர் முயற்சி;

வில் அம்புகளால் விளையாது நன்மை!
சொல்வேன் நன்மை விளைவிப்பதை.

நாணமே பெண்களுக்கு அணிகலன் ஆகும்.
நாணத்தைத் துறப்பது பெண்ணின் தோல்வி.

வில் ஏந்தினால் கெட்டு விடும் உடல் மென்மை;
தண்டம் ஏந்தினால் கெட்டு விடும் அன்ன நடை;

இனிமையாகப் பாடவல்ல நீ எழுப்பலாம்
இடியோசை போன்ற குரலை இக்களத்தில்.

யுத்தம் செய்ய இயலேன் உன்னுடன் நான்!
யுத்தம் செய்ய முயல்வேன் இவளுடன் நான்!

தொங்கும் உதடுகள், தொங்கும் வயிறு
அங்க லக்ஷணம் இல்லாத கரிய நிற எதிரி;

கோர உருவமும், கோரைப் பற்களும் கொண்ட
பூனைக் கண் பெண் என் எதிரில் நின்றால்!”

5#31c. The fall of Sumbaasuran (3)

“My dear brave lady! Why did you come to the warfront? Don’t you know that war is the busines of men and not women. A woman has a different battle field. It is apt for the gentle body of a woman.

In that battle field, eyes are the arrows and eyebrows the bows. The play of love is the weapon used. The man who is well versed in the art of love is the guru.

The desire for love making is the chariot and the sweet nothings uttered is the yuddha berigai. Smearing of sandal paste is a part of the war, of love.

Wielding the real bow and arrow will not do you any good. I shall tell you what is good for you. Coyness is the ornament of a woman.

If she loses it she is already defeated. Using the bow will make your gentle body tough and hard. Wielding the dandam will make you lose your swan-like gait.

You can sing sweetly. You can also scream with a deafening noise. I can not fight with you. But may be I can fight with a woman if she has hanging lips, a drooping belly, a terrifying body, a dark hue, hedious canine teeth and cat’s eyes.”

11a. சூரனும், மகனும்.

தூதுவர் சிலர் ஏகினர் மறு நாள்;
ஆதவனைச் சிறை செய்த அவுணனிடம்.

“மாயப் படை செலுத்தி மயக்கினாய் !
தோயக் கடலில் அவர்களை வீழ்த்தினாய் !

'வேற்படை சென்றது ஆறு கடல் கடந்து
வெற்றுப்படை ஆனது உன் மாயப் படை.

மீண்டு வந்தனர் மாண்ட பூதர்கள்,
ஈண்டு வந்து அழித்தனர் நம் நகரை

சூரபத்மன் போருக்கு அனுப்பினான்
இரணியன், தீமுகன், மூவாயிரவரை.

படைகள் அழிந்து ஒழிந்து போயின
கடல் மீனாகி ஒளிந்தான் இரணியன்.

தருமகோபன், தீமுகன் போரில் வீழ்ந்தனர் .
இருக்கிறார்கள் நம் நகரில் பகைவர்கள் !”

பானுகோபன் அதிர்ந்தான் ஏங்கினான்;
பாரினில் நம் வாழ்வு முடியலாயிற்றோ?

தந்தையைக் காணச் சென்றான் அவன்
நன்னெறிகள் பகன்றான் பானுகோபன்

“நான் கூறும் சொற்களைச் செவிமடு!
நன்னீர்க் கடலில் இட்டேன் பூதரை!

வேற்படை செலுத்தி மீட்ட சிறுவனைத்
தோற்கடிக்க இயலாது எவராலும்.

முதல் நாள் போரில் தோற்றுப் புற
முதுகிட்டு ஓடி வந்தது யார் கூறு!

தாரகனையும், கிரௌஞ்சனையும் வென்ற
பேராண்மையாளனை எவர் வெல்லுவார்?

ஆறுமுகனின் இளவல்களில் சிறந்த
வீரவாகுவைக் கூட வெல்ல இயலாது.

அமரரைச் சிறை விட்டுவிடு நீ!
ஆறுமுகன் படை சென்று விடும்.

பெரும் வளங்களுடன் நம் குலம்
பெருவாழ்வு வாழ வழி செய்வாய் ”

 4 # 11. a. Soorapadman and Bhaanukoban.

On the next day some messengers went to Bhaanukoban. They spoke to him in detail.

“You shot the Maaya asthram and threw the demon warriors in the freshwater sea. Murugan’s spear went all the way and brought back the demon warriors after destroying the power of your maayaa.

The demon warriors destroyed our city. Hiranyan was sent to fight Murugan’s army. He changed into a fish and went into hiding after being defeated.

Agni mukhan and the three thousand sons fell in the war. The enemies are still in our city.”

Bhaanukoban stared worrying, “Has my life come to its end?” He rushed to meet his father and advised him thus.

“I threw the demon warriors in to the sea but Murugan’s spear saved them and brought them back. Murugan is invincible.

We can’t win even Veerabaahu or any of his brothers. Release the Devas from the prison. Let our race live on in peace and prosperity”

16a. சோமநாதன் முக்தி

பிரம்மதேவன் வியாசருக்குக் கூறியதை
பிருகுமுனி சோமகாந்தனுக்குக் கூறினார்.

“இடைவிடாது பரம்பொருளை ஆராதித்தால்
திடமாக நிறைவேரும் உன் அபிலாஷைகள்.”

சோமகாந்தன் ஜெபித்தான் மந்திரங்களை.
சோமகாந்தன் தியானித்தான் விநாயகரை.

ஆண்டு ஒன்று உருண்டோடியது – வந்தது
அழகிய விமானம் அழைத்துச் செல்வதற்கு.

தேவகணங்கள் தெரிவித்தன வரவேற்பினை.
சோமகாந்தன் பணிந்தான் பிருகு முனிவரை.

“விநாயகர் மகிமையை விவரமாகக் கேட்டு
விடாமல் தியானித்தீர் விநாயகரை நீங்கள்.

திவ்விய லோகத்துக்குச் செல்வீர் நால்வரும்!”
திவ்விய சரீரங்களுடன் ஏறினர் விமானம்.

சோமகாந்தனிடம் கூறினாள் சுதன்மை,
“எமகண்டனைக் காண்போம் செல்லுமுன்.

நற்பேற்றினைச் சொல்லவேண்டும் – மகன்
குற்றமற்ற நம் உடலைக் காணவேண்டும்!

தேவகணங்கள் கூறின சோமகாந்தனிடம்,
“தேவி கூறியது சரி என்பதே எம் கருத்து.

குமாரர் பூஜித்து வருகிறார் விநாயகரை.
விமானத்தை நிறுத்துவோம் நகர் அருகே.

குமாரனை வரவழைத்து விடைபெற்றபின்
விமானம் ஏறிச் செல்வோம் விண்ணுலகு!”

VINAAYAKA PURAAANAM - 2

46a. Somakaantan

Brugu rushi told Somakaantan what Brahma had told to sage Vyasa. “If you meditate on Vinayaka with no other thoughts, he will surely make your wishes come true.”

Somakaantan chanted Vinayaka’s names. He meditated on Vinayaka. One year passed by and Vinayaka’s vimaanam came down to transport them to the Vinayaka lokam.

The Deva gaNaa welcomed them to enter the vimaanam. Somakaantan and the others paid obeisance to sage Brugu.
They got into the vimaanam. Sudanmai told her husband Somakanthn,

“We must take leave of our son Hemakantan. I am sure he will be very happy to learn that we are going to Vinayaka lokam and that we are bestowed with these blemish-less divya sareeram.”

The DevagaNaa agreed to this and told the king, “You son Hema Kantan is now an ardent devotee of Vinayaka. We will stop the vimaanam outside his city. We can call him over to our vimaanam and take leave of him before we go to Vinayaka lokam.”

5#31d. சும்பாசுரன் வதம் (4)

புலம்பினான் காம வசப்பட்ட சும்பாசுரன்;
கலங்கினான் போர் புரியத் துணிவில்லாமல்.

“போர் புரிவாய் சாமுண்டி, காளியருடன்,
போர் புரிய மனம் துணியும் அல்லவா?

கோர ரூபமும், கரிய நிறமும் கொண்டவர்கள்;
போர் புரியத் தகுந்தவர்கள் உன் கருத்துப்படி.

காளி! கோர வடிவம் கொண்ட கரியவளே!
சளைக்காமல் போர் புரிவாய் சும்பனுடன்.”

பாய்ந்தாள் கதையுடன் சும்பன் மீது காளி;
பயங்கர யுத்தம் தொடங்கித் தொடர்ந்தது.

நொறுக்கினாள் காளி சும்பனின் ரதத்தை
நொறுக்கினாள் சாரதியை, கழுதைகளை.

அடித்தான் காளியின் மார்பில் சும்பன்;
ஒடித்தாள் காளி சும்பன் இடக் கரத்தை!

எஞ்சிய கரத்தால் தாக்கினான் காளியை
மிஞ்சிய கரத்தையும் துணித்தாள் காளி.

போரிட்டான் சும்பன் கால்களால் உதைத்து;
வேறாகின கால்களும் அவன் உடலிலிருந்து.

போரிட்டான் சும்பாசுரன் தலையினால்;
தலையையும் தனியாக்கி விட்டாள் காளி!

கிடந்தது உடல் மலைக் குன்று போல் !
ஒலித்தது வாழ்த்து தேவர்கள் குரலில் !

வீசியது சுகமான மந்தமாருதம் வந்து;
விரவியது நிம்மதியான சூழ்நிலை அங்கு.

எழுந்தது ஹோம அக்னி வலம் சுழித்து.
விழுந்தனர் தேவியின் பாதங்களில் அசுரர்.

அபயம் அளித்தாள் தேவி அசுரர்களுக்கு;
வினயம் மிகுந்திடச் சென்றனர் பாதாளம்.

நூற்பயன்

திவ்வியமான இந்தக் கதை, கேட்பவருக்கு
செவ்விய வாழ்வின் பயனை அளித்திடும்.

புண்ணியம் அடைவர் படிப்பவர், கேட்பவர்;
பண்ணிய பாவங்கள் தொலைத்து போய்விடும்.

அடைவர் செல்வத்தை வறிய பக்தர்கள்;
அடைவர் மக்கட் செல்வத்தை மலடிகள்;

விடுபடுவர் சகல சத்ரு உபாதையிலிருந்து;
விடுபடுவர் சகல உடல் உபாதையிலிருந்து.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#31d. The fall of Sumbaasuran (4)

Sumbaasuran was infatuated with Devi and was unable to fight with her. Devi said now,

” You won’t mind fighting with Kaali and ChaamuNdi instead of me I am sure. They are dark hued and have a terryfying apperance as you had asked for. Oh Kaali! You may fight with Sumaasuran on my behalf!”

Kaali pounced on Sumbaasuran with her mace. A terrific war ensued. Kaali shattered the chariot of Sumbaasuran and killed the charioteer and the donkeys pulling the chariot.

Sumbaasuran hit her hard on her chest. Kaali cut off his left hand. Sumbaasuran hit her with his right hand now. Kaali cut off his right hand also. Sumbaasuran fought with his powerful legs. Kaali severed his legs from his body.

Now Sumbaasuran attacked her with his head. Kaali cut off his head also promptly. His dead body resembled a mountain of flesh. The Devaas sang Devi’s praise.

A cool breeze blew soothingly. The eight directions became peaceful and pleasant.The agni from the homa kundam rose circling clockwise to its right side. The remaining asuraas fell at Devi’s feet. She gave them abhayam. They were grateful to be spared alive and returned to paatalam.

Phala sruti:

Those who listen to this auspicious story will gain all the benefits they wish for. The reader and the listener will earn good karma. The previous bad karma will get nullifed.
The poor devotees will acquire wealth, the devotees without santhati will beget good children.
Everyone will be liberated from the fear of enemies and the other bodily afflictions.

11b. சூரன் மறுத்தல்.

“நன்றாக உள்ளது உன் ஆலோசனை!
இன்னுயிர் காத்திட நான் எளியவனாகி

அமரரைச் சிறை நீக்கினால் எனக்கு
சமருக்கு அஞ்சிய பழி வந்து சேரும்.

பழி வந்தால் என்றேனும் நீங்குமா?
எழுமைக்கும் பின்தொடரும் என்னை!

பகைவர் கையில் உயிர் விடுவேன் நான்!
பகைவரைச் சிறை விடமாட்டேன் நான்!

சூரன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றவனின்
வீரத்துக்கு வரலாமா களங்கம்?

திருமாலையும் வென்றவன் நான்!
பெருமை அழிய உடன்படுவேனா?

நிலையற்ற வாழ்வை விரும்பியதால்
நிலையான கொள்கையைக் கைவிடேன்!

அஞ்சுவது நீதான், நானல்ல மகனே!
மஞ்சத்தில் படுத்து அஞ்சாமல் உறங்கு!”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

 4 # 11.b. Soorapadman refuses.

“What a sound advice from you my son! You tell me to release the Deva from my prison so that I can live a little longer. But I will be blamed for fearing the war and for becoming a coward.

Such things are not easily forgotten and the title coward will stick to my name permanently. I will rather get killed by my enemy than release them from my prison. I am called Sooran because of my valor. I will never lose courage and the fame earned by me.

I had conquered even Vishnu himself. I will never compromise on my principles just to save my skin. You are the one who has turned to a coward. Go to your palace and sleep well in peace”.

16b. ஏமகண்டன்

விமானம் இறங்கியது நகருக்கு வெளியே.
குமாரனிடம் சென்றனர் இரு அமைச்சர்கள்.

தந்தை, தாயுடன் சென்ற இரு அமைச்சர்கள்
தந்தை, தாயின்றித் திரும்புவதைக் கண்டான்.

அஞ்சினான் ஆபத்து நேர்ந்து இருக்குமோ என.
அமைதி கொண்டான் ஆலோசித்த பின்னர்.

வரவேற்றான் அமைச்சர்களை அன்புடன்;
“வந்த காரணத்தைக் கூறுங்கள் நீங்கள்!

தந்தையும், தாயும் நலமாக உள்ளனரா?
தந்தையின் நோய் குணமாகிவிட்டதா?”

“பூர்வ ஜன்ம புண்ணிய வசத்தால் நாங்கள்
ஆர்வத்துடன் கேட்டோம் கணபதி மகிமை.

நோய் நீங்கி மறைந்து விட்டது – கிடைத்தது
தாய், தந்தையர்க்கு விண்ணுலக வாழ்வு!

பூவுடன் சிறந்த நாரும் நறுமணம் பெறும்.
மேருவுடன் சேர்ந்த காகமும் பொன் நிறம்!

தந்தையாருடன் சென்றதால் எங்களுக்கும்
வந்துள்ளது வாய்ப்பு விண்ணுலகில் வாழ.

விண்ணுலகு ஏகுமுன் விடை பெறவேண்டி
விமானத்தில் உள்ளனர் நகருக்கு வெளியே!

விரைந்தான் ஏமகண்டன் பெற்றோரைத் தரிசிக்க,
விரைந்தனர் நகர மக்கள் அவனைத் தொடர்ந்து.

46b. Hemakantan

The Vimaanam stopped at the outskirts of the city. The King and the Queen stayed back in the Vimaanam with the Deva gaNaa and the two loyal ministers went to meet Hemakantan.

At first Hemakantan got worried to see the ministers returning unaccompanied by his parents. But the happy expression in their faces conveyed that there was nothing to worry about.

He welcomed them very warmly and asked.” May I know what brings you here sirs? How are my dear parents the King and the Queen? Has my father’s illness got cured?”

The ministers replied, ” It was due to our good deeds done in some previous birth that we had the opportunity to listen to the greatness of Vinayaka from Brugu maharishi. The King’s disease is completely cured.

The King and the Queen will go to Vinayaka lokam in a Vimaanam. Since we accompanied them, we too got the chance to go with them there too. They want to take leave of you and are waiting in the Vimaanam in the outskirts of the city.

5#32a. சுரத மன்னன்

“சண்டிகையின் பெருமைகளை உள்ளபடி
விண்டீர் வியாச மஹாமுனிவரே நீங்கள்!

சண்டிகையைப் பூஜித்தவர் யார் யார் யார்?
உண்டான பயன்கள் என்ன எனக் கூறுவீர்!

“ஜனமேஜய மன்னா! கூறுவேன் கேள் நீயும்
மனம் ஒன்றித் தேவி வழிபாட்டின் மகிமையை.

சுவரோசிஷாந்தரம் நாட்டை முன்னாளில்
சுரதன் என்ற தர்மசீல மன்னன் ஆண்டான்.

கொண்டிருந்தான் அளவற்ற குருபக்தி – மேலும்
கொண்டிருந்தான் குடிமக்கள் நலனைக் கருத்தில்.

பலம் பெற்றுவிட்டனர் அவன் காலத்தில்
மலைகளில் வாழ்ந்திருந்த மிலேச்சர்கள்.

முற்றுகை இட்டனர் அவன் நாட்டை – கைப்
பற்ற எண்ணினர் அவன் ராஜ்ஜியத்தை

படை எடுத்து வந்தனர் சுரதன் மீது – நாற்
படை கொண்டு போரிட்டான் சுரதமன்னன்

விதிவசமாக வென்றுவிட்டனர் மிலேச்சர்கள்;
மதி மந்திரிகள் மாறிவிட்டனர் பகைவர் பக்ஷம்!

சிந்தித்தான் சுரதமன்னன் நொந்த மனத்துடன்,
‘இந்த நாட்டில் இல்லை எனக்கு ஆப்தர்கள்!

காத்திருக்கலாம் காலம் கனியும் வரையில்;
போர் தொடுக்கலாம் காலத்தைக் கருதாமல்!

நம்பிக்கைக்கு உரிய அமைச்சர்கள் இல்லை;
நம்பிக்கைத் துரோகிகள் பெறுவார் பரிசுகள்.

பிடித்துக் கொடுத்து விடுவர் பகைவரிடம்
அடுத்து கெடுக்கும் குணம் உடையவர்கள்.’

5#32a. King Suratha

King Janamejayan told sage Vyaasaa,”You are expatiating on the greatness of Devi in the most captivating manner. Kindly tell me now who were the people who worshipped Devi and what were the benefits they received from her”

Sage Vyaasaa continued expatiating on the greatness of Devi,
” Swarochishaantharam was ruled by king Suratha. He was kind and just and had intense guru bhakti. The welfare of his citizens was the top most thing on his mind.

The wicked people living on the mountains became very powerful during his reign. They laid a siege, tried to attack king Suratha and capture his country. King Suratha fought bravely but could not defeat the poweful enemies.

All his loyal ministers shifted their loyalty to the new ruler. King Suratha realised that there no one whom he could trust now. The betrayers and traitors would be richly rewarded by the enemies.

So he decided to wait for a more favourable time to overthrow the new rulers who were his staunch enemies.

12a. அரிமுகன்.

வடகடலில் ஆசுரம் என்னும் நகரில்
நடத்திவந்தான் அரிமுகன் தன் ஆட்சியை.

நடந்தவற்றைக் கேட்ட அரிமுகன் உடனே
படையுடன் அடைந்தான் மகேந்திரபுரியை.

“பூதப் படையுடன் வந்தான் சிவகுமாரன்;
சேதப் படுத்தினான் நம் நகரை , நாட்டை!

ஆறுமுகனின் ஆற்றலைக் கெடுத்து
ஆறுதல் அளிப்பாய் நீ எனக்கு!”

அறவுரைகள் கூறிப் பயன் இல்லை!
வெறும் சிறுவன் அல்லவே முருகன்!!

“செல்வேன் போருக்கு இப்போதே நான்;
வெல்வேன் அன்றிப் போரில் மடிவேன்.

பிழைத்து வந்தால் சந்திப்போம் நாம்.
இழந்து விடாதே அனைவரையும்!”

உண்டான் வயிறார அறுசுவையில்.
பூண்டான் கவசமும், போர்க்கோலமும்.

மணப் பொருட்கள் பூசி, மாலை அணிந்து,
அணிகலன்கள் பூண்டு, நீறு தரித்தான்.

ஆயுதங்களை, தெய்வப் படைகளை,
மாயவள் தந்த பாசத்தை ஏந்தினான்;

பத்து நூறாயிரம் குதிரைகள் பூட்டிய
உத்தமமான தேரில் ஏறிச் சென்றான்.

அவுண மள்ளர்கள் புடை சூழ்ந்து வர;
அனைத்து இசைக்கருவிகளும் ஒலிக்க.

 4 # 12.a. Singa mukhan.

Singa mukhan, the younger brother of Soorapadman ruled his country Aaasuram situated in the Northern Sea. When he learned of the recent happenings, he rushed to Veera mahendrapuri with his army.

Soorapaman told him, “The son of Siva came here with an army of demons and destroyed our country and capital city.
Vanquish the army of demons and make me happy!”

Singa mukhan felt that things were beyond his control or counseling. He decided to obey the command without any protest. He told Soorapadman,

“I shall go to the war front now on a “do or die” mission. If I return with victory we shall meet again! I hope you won’t lose every one of us here!”

He ate tasty food to his fill. He donned the armor and got ready for the battle. He wore flower garlands and smeared the incenses on his body.

He applied the holy ash of Siva and wore several other ornaments. He carried all the divine asthrams and sasthrams in his possession along with the paasam given by Maaya Devi.

He got into his chariot drawn by a million horses and went to the war front surrounded by his army which marched to the music of the various instruments.

16c. விநாயக லோகம்

விமானத்தில் இருந்த தன் பெற்றோரை
விழுந்து வணங்கினான் ஏமகண்டன்.

“கவலை தீர்ந்தேன் கண்களால் கண்டதால்;
உவகை கொண்டேன் நோய் மறைந்ததால்!

விருப்பம் இல்லை தங்களைப் பிரிந்து வாழ!
மறுப்புக் கூறாமல் உடன் அழைத்துச் செல்வீர்.”

நகர மக்களும் வேண்டினர் சோமகாந்தனிடம்,
நம்மையும் உம்மோடு அழைத்துச் செல்வீர்.”

“ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளமுடியாது வேண்டுகோளை!
பேற்றினை அடைய வேண்டும் முயற்சியால்!

பூர்வ ஜன்ம புண்ணியம் தரவேண்டும் பலனை;
ஆர்வம் இருந்தால் கிடைத்துவிடாது நற்பேறு.

விதித்த கர்மங்களைச் செய்து முடித்த பிறகே
விடுக்க முடியும் உலக வாழ்வை உங்களால்!

விரும்புகிறேன் உங்களைக் கூட்டிச் செல்ல.
வருந்துகிறேன் என் இலயாமையை எண்ணி.”

தேவகணங்கள் குறுக்கிட்டுக் கூறின அப்போது,
“ஏமகண்டன் பூசித்து வருகிறார் விநாயகரை.

நற்பேற்றினைப் பெறும் தகுதி உடையவரே.
நற்பேற்றினைப் பெறமுடியும் நகர மக்களும்!

விநாயகர் மஹிமையைக் கேட்ட பலனை
விநியோகம் நீங்கள் விரும்பிச் செய்தால்!”

தன் நற்பலனைத் தன் நாட்டும் மக்களுக்குத்
தத்தம் செய்தான் சோமகாந்தன் மனமுவந்து.

திவ்விய சரீரங்கள் பெற்றனர் அனைவருமே!
திவ்விய விமானத்தில் ஏறினர் அனைவருமே!

விமானம் எழும்பியது மண்ணுலகிலிருந்து;
விமானம் சென்றடைந்தது விண்ணுலகினை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
VINAAYAKA PURAANAM - 2

46c. Vinayaka lokam

Hemakantan paid obeisance to his parents seated in the Vimaanam. He told them, “I am happy to have seen you both. I am happy that father is cured of his hidious disease. I do not want live separated from you anymore. Please take me with you to where you are going.”

The citizens also joined in this request now, “Oh dear king! We too have no wish to live away from you. Kindly take us with you to whichever place you are going!”

The king replied to them firmly, “Your request can not be accepted. Everything must be earned by one’s own merits and hard work. Wishing for something is one thing. Working to achieve is quite another.

You have to finish all the prescribed karma here before you can think of leaving this world. I am sorry I am not able to oblige to your request.”

Now the DevagaNaa intervened and spoke,”Hemakantan is an ardent devortee of Lord Vinayaka. He is fit or entering the Vinayaka lokam on his own merits and the punya earned by him.

As for the citizens, they too can get the entry to Vinayaka lokam if you will to give them kindheartedly the punya earned by you by listening to the greatness of Vinayaka. ”

The kindhearted King gave the punya earned by him to his citizens. Now they were all fit for the heavenward journey. Everyone got a divine body.

The divine Vimaanam accommodated everyone and they took off to the Vinayaka lokam.
 
புராணம் கேட்டதன் பலன்

விநாயக புராணத்தை விரும்பிப் படித்தாலும்,
விநாயக புராணத்தை எடுத்துச் சொன்னாலும்,

நீங்கி விடும் ஏழேழு ஜன்மங்களில் இழைத்த
தீங்குகள் அனைத்தும் என்பது தான் சத்தியம்.

பாவங்களின் பட்டியல்:-

1. செய்நன்றி மறத்தல்

2. பிறருக்குத் துன்பம் இழைத்தல்,

3. சத்கர்மாக்களைச் செய்யாதிருத்தல்

4. குருவுக்கு உரிய தக்ஷணை கொடதிருத்தல்

5. ஆலயங்களை அசுத்தப் படுத்துதல்

6. பஞ்ச பூதங்களை அவமதித்தல்

7. அந்தணர், ஆ, சூரியன், சந்திரன் இவற்றை வணங்காது இருத்தல்

8. உண்ணும் உணவைத் தொழாது இருத்தல்

9. அதிதிகள், அடிமைகளுக்கு உணவு கொடாமல் இருத்தல்

10. பெரியவர்கள் உண்ணும் முன்பே தான் உண்ணுதல்

11. ஒரு கையால் தானம் வழங்குதல்

12. அந்திப் பொழுதில் தீபத்தை வணங்காது இருத்தல்

13. இருவருக்கு இடையே புகுந்து செல்லுதல்

14. பொது இடங்களையு நீர் நிலைகளையும் அசிங்கம் செய்தல்

15. பரஸ்திரீ கமனம் செய்தல்

16. பஞ்ச மாபாதகங்கள் செய்தல்

17. பொறாமைப் படுத்தல்

18. வீட்டில் கடவுளுக்குப் பூஜை செய்யாது இருத்தல்

19. நெருப்பைத் தாண்டுதல்

20. தலயில் வைத்த எண்ணையை வழித்து உடலில் தடவுதல்

21. மனைவியைப் புகழுதல் ( அப்படிப் போடு!!!)

22. தொடை மேல் தட்டை வைத்து உண்ணுதல்

23. பட்டினி கிடந்து உடலையும், உயிரையும் வாட்டுதல்

24. பூமியை நகத்தால் கீறுதல்

25. வஸ்திரம் இன்றி நீரில் இறங்குதல்

26. மந்திரங்களைத் தகுதி இல்லாதவர்களுக்கு உபதேசித்தல்

27. பெரியவர்கள் அமரும் ஆசனத்தைக் காலால் உதைத்தல்

28. நகத்தையும், ரோமத்தையும் பற்களால் கடித்தல்.

29. உறங்கும் பெரியவர்களை எழுப்புதல்

30. பொய் சொல்லுதல்

31. நல்லவர்களை ஏசுதல்

32. காலோடு காலைத் தேய்த்துக் கழுவுதல்

33. இடல் கையால் தலையைத் தொடுதல்

34. நின்றும், நடந்து, படுத்தும் உண்ணுதல்

35. அடியார்களைத் தூஷித்தல்

36. கர்மாக்களைச் செய்து இருத்தல்

37. தகாத காலத்தில் மனைவியுடன் கூடுதல்

38. தீபத்தை வாயால் ஊதி அணைத்தல்

39. பெண்கள் பர புருஷரை விரும்புதல்

40. செய்யக் கூடாதவற்றைச் செய்தல்

( இப்போது தெரிகின்றதா தினமும் நாம் எத்தனை
பாவங்கள் செய்கின்றோம் அறிந்தும் அறியாமலும்)

இது புராண காலத்திய பட்டியல்! இன்று இன்னமும்
ஒரு நாற்பது புதுப் பாவங்களைச் சேர்க்க முடியும்!!!
 

47. Phala sruti

Whosoever reads this Vinayaka PuraaNam or listens to it with devotion will be freed from all the sins committed by him or her in the past births – knowingly or unknowingly.

The list of sins:-

1. ingratitude

2. himsa

3. nor doing good deeds

4. not paying guru dhakshinai

5. rendering the temples dirty.

6. insulting the five elements (pancha boothas)

7. Not worshiping Brahmins, cows, the sun and the moon.

8. not respecting the food one eats

9. not feeding the guests and the servants

10. eating before the elders have eaten food.

11. donating using only one hand.

12. not worshiping the lamp at sunset.

13. passing in between two persons

14. rendering the public places and water bodies filthy

15. coveting another man’s wife

16. doing any of the five great sins

17. being jealous

18. neglecting the puja at home

19. jumping over fire

20. removing the excess oil applied to the hair and smearing it
on the body

21. praising one’s wife

22. eating from a plate kept on one’s thighs

23. starving and punishing one’s body and soul

24. scratching the earth with one’s nails

25. getting into water stark naked

26. teaching mantras to the unworthy people

27. kicking the seat/ aasanam used by the elder

28. biting one’s nails or hair

29. waking up the sleeping elders

30. uttering lies

31. accusing the virtuous people

32. rubbing one leg on the other while washing them

33. touching one’s head with left hand

34. eating while standing, walking or lying down

35. speaking ill of the devotees

36. failing to do one’s karma/ duties

37. indulgence in sex during the wrong time of the day

38. blowing off a lit lamp with one's breath

39. a woman desiring men other than her husband

40. doing things which are prohibited clearly.
