VINAAYAKA PURAANAM 1


29b. சண்டாள ஸ்த்ரீ

பாவங்களுக்கு உழன்றாள் நரகத்தில்,
பாவம் கழியவில்லை காலம் கழிந்தும்.

தண்டனையைப் பூர்த்தி செய்ய மீண்டும்
சண்டாளப் பெண் ஆனாள் மண்ணுலகில்.

காலையில் எழுந்ததும் கள் அருந்தினாள்;
காலைப் பொழுது கழிந்தது போதையில்!

போதை தெளிந்ததும் அகோரப் பசியால்
போனாள் உணவைத் தேடிய வண்ணம்.

தெருவில் வந்து விழுந்தன நிறைய
விருந்து உண்ட எச்சில் இலைகள்.

பசிக்கு ஏது ருசியும் பல விதிகளும்?
புசித்தாள் எச்சில் உணவைத் திரட்டி!

சதுர்த்தி விரதம் நடந்திருந்தது அன்று;
பொதுவாகக் கேட்டது கணபதி நாமம்.

“கணபதி! கணபதி! ” என்றாள் அவளும்!
கணபதி அருளுக்குப் பாத்திரம் ஆனாள்!”

கணங்கள் உரைத்தன இந்த விவரத்தை;
கணங்களை வேண்டினர் தூதுவர்கள்.

“மண்ணில் இறங்கிய இந்திரன் விமானம்
விண்ணில் எழும்ப உதவிட வேண்டும்!”

“வேலை தருபவர் வேழமுகன் ஒருவரே!
வேலை நடுவில் வேண்டாம் தடங்கல்!”

சென்றனர் விமானம் ஏறிய கணங்கள்,
பெண்ணின் பார்வை விழுந்தது தரையில்.

என்ன விந்தை நடந்தது அங்கே காண்பீர்!
எழும்பியது விமானம் அவள் பார்வையில்!

சண்டாளப் பெண் அல்லவே அவள் இப்போது!
விண்ணுலக வாழ்வை வென்றுவிட்ட பெண்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

#29b. The untouchable woman

Sundari suffered in hell for a long time. Still her sins were not exhausted . She was born on earth again as an untouchable ChandaaLa sthree.

She drank toddy and got intoxicated early in the morning. She felt the pangs of hunger in the afternoon and went out in search of food.

Plantain leaves with the remnants of food were thrown on the street after a feast. Hunger knows no laws! She gathered the leftover food and ate it. That day happened to be the auspicious chathurthi day.

The name of lord Ganapathy was in the air – heard from every house. She too said “Ganapthy! Ganapathy!” just for fun. But Ganapthy rid her of all her sins immediately. She has been given a divya sareeram and a place in the heaven.”

The messengers asked for a favour. “Indra’s vimanam has been grounded. Please help it to rise again in the sky”

The Deva ganas refused saying, “We obey only the commands of our god
Ganapathy. No distractions during our duties”

They got back in their vimaanam and were leaving. The eyes of the ChandaaLa sthree fell on Indra’s vimaanam and it started rising in the sky!

After all she was not just an untouchable woman anymore. She had won a spot in the heaven.

11f. உலகங்கள்.

"நிலவுலகு சம்பூத் தீவு, அண்டச் சுவர் இடையே;
நிலவுலகுக்கு மேலே நிலவும் கதிரவன் மண்டலம்.

திங்கள் உலகம் அமையும் கதிரவன் உலகுக்கும் மேலே.
திங்கள் உலகுக்கு மேலே உள்ளது விண்மீன் உலகம்;

புதன், சுக்கிரன், செவ்வாய், வியாழன் , சனி என,
இதமாக உள்ளன ஐந்து தனித்தனி உலகங்கள்.

சப்தரிஷிகளின் மண்டலம் இதற்கும் மேலே!
சப்தரிஷிகள் மண்டலத்துக்கு மேல் துருவலோகம்,

புவர் உலகம் நீண்டுள்ளது துருவலோகம் வரையில்;
புவர் உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது சுவர் உலகம்;

சுவர் உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது மக உலகம்;
மக உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது சன உலகம்;

சன உலககுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது தவ உலகம்;
தவ உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது சத்தியலோகம்;

சத்திய உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது பிரமலோகம்.
அத்தனை அண்டங்களின் அமைப்பும் இங்ஙனமே!

பிரமலோகத்துக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது திருமால் உலகம்.
திருமால் உலகுக்கும் மேலே நீண்டுள்ளது சிவலோகம்.

இவை அனைத்தும் ஒரு அண்டத்தின் அம்சங்கள்;
இதைப் போன்றதே ஒவ்வொரு அண்டமும் அறிவாய்!"

 2 ( # 11 F). THE DIFFERENT WORLDS.

Bhur loka extends between the Jambu dwipa and the end of the world.

Above the Bhur loka extends the loka of the Sun.

Above the loka of the Sun extends the loka of the Moon.

Above the loka of the Moon extends the loka of the planets.

There are five loka for the Budha, Sukra, Mangal, Guru and Sani.

The saptarishi mandala extends over the loka of these planets.

Dhruva loka extends above the saptarishi mandala.

Bhuvar lokam extends up to the Dhruva loka.

Svar loka extends above the Bhuvar loka.

Mahar loka extends above the Svar loka.

Jana loka extends above the Mahar loka.

Tapa loka extends above the Jana loka.

Sathya loka extends above the Tapa loka.

Brahma loka extends above the Sathya loka.

Vishnu loka extends over the Brahma loka.

Siva loka extends over the Vishnu loka.

All these together constitute an Universe.

Every other universe is similar to this one.

 
This poem was penned By Razak on 22/1/15 on the valediction of the reunion of "Friends for ever" formed during our college days - after the reunion in Kumarakon last week! I do hope the next meet in Hydrabed in 2017 the entire gang could reunite without walking sticks or wheel chairs !!

29c. சூரசேனன்

தூதுவர் கூறிய வினோத விவரங்கள்
ஊதி வளர்த்தன மன்னனின் ஆசையை!

அடைய வேண்டும் விநாயகன் அருளை!
அடைய வேண்டும் விண்ணுலக வாழ்வை!

முனிவர்களின் உதவியுடன் சூரசேனன்
இனிதே தொடங்கினான் விரதத்தை.

அமர பட்சத்தில், மாசி மாதத்தில், பூஜை
அங்காரக சதுர்த்தியில் தொடங்கினான்!

மாதம் தவறாமல் பூஜைகள் நடந்தன;
பாதகம் இன்றிப் பூர்த்தியும் அடைந்தன!

தேவ கணங்கள் வந்தன விமானத்துடன்;
கேவலம் தான் மட்டும் சுவர்க்கம் செல்வதா?

“யாவரும் வர வேண்டும் என்னுடன்!”
தேவ கணங்கள் அளித்தன அனுமதி.

நகர மக்கள் வந்து குவிந்தனர் அங்கு.
அகமகிழ்ந்து அமர்ந்தார் விமானத்தில்.

எழும்பவில்லை விமானம் விண்ணில்!
பழுது என்னவோ தெரியவில்லையே!

“நகர மக்களில் ஒருவன் பாவி வணிகன்;
நகராது விமானம் அவன் ஏறி அமர்ந்தால்!

பார்வை பட்டுத் தரை தட்டினான் இந்திரன்
பாவி இறங்கினால் தான் பறக்கும் விமானம்!”

“எல்லோருக்கும் கிட்டும் நற்பயன்
இல்லாமல் போனது ஏன் அறிவீரா?

பாவம் என்ன செய்துள்ளான் இவன்?
பரிஹாரம் என்று ஒன்றும் இல்லையா?”

#29c. Soorasenan

The king Soorasenan was bewildered by the information gathered by his messengers. He too wished for a spot in heaven and the travel by the heavenly vimaanam. He called the learned pundits and started chathurti vratham in the prescribed manner.

It was started on an Angaaraka chathurti in the month of Maasi and in amara paksham. The puja went on for one year without any break of hurdles.

Vimaanam came down from heaven. The king did not want to be to be the sole benefactor. He wanted all his citizens to go with him. He argued with the Deva gana and got their permission. The citizens of his country were only too happy on hearing this. They assembled and started boarding the vimaanam.

But the vimaanam would not rise in the air! What had gone wrong? One of the citizens was a sinner merchant. Unless he got down from the vimanam, it would not go up. Indra’s vimaanam landed only because the sinner had cast his eyes on it.

The king could nor reconcile to this news. What kind of sin had the merchant committed that he was denied the privilege given to all the others? Was there no parihaaram for his sins?

4#10a. பிருகுவின் சாபம்

சுக்கிரர் கூறினார் அசுரர் கூட்டத்திடம்,
“உக்கிரம் வாய்ந்த நரசிங்க மூர்த்தி.

அழித்து விட்டார் ஹிரண்ய கசிபுவை.
அழித்தார் ஹிரண்யாக்ஷனை வராஹர்!

மீண்டும் எடுப்பார் பல அவதாரங்கள்
மீண்டும் அழிப்பார் அசுரர் குலத்தை.

இல்லை விஷ்ணுவை வென்றிடும் சக்தி,
வெல்ல வேண்டும் சிவனாரின் உதவியால்.

மந்திர உபதேசம் பெற்று வருகிறேன்;
மந்த நிலை மாறிவிடும் அதன் பின்னர்!”

செல்ல விரும்பிய சுக்கிரரிடம் இதனைச்
சொல்ல விரும்பினர் அசுர குல வீரர்கள்,

“திரும்ப நீர் வருவதற்குள் அசுரருக்குத்
தீங்கு நேர்ந்தால் என்ன செய்வது?” என,

“கால வசத்தால் பலவீனம் அடைந்தால்
காத்திருப்போம் பலம் பெருகும் வரை.

அமைதி காப்போம் பலம் பெறும் வரை;
அழிப்போம் பகைவரை அதன் பின்னர்.

ஞாலம் செய்யாததைக் காலம் செய்யும்
ஞாபகத்தில் கொண்டு நயமாக நடப்பீர்!

சாந்தமாகத் தவத்தில் காலம் கழித்தால்
சாராது ஆபத்து நான் வரும் வரையில் !”

மந்திர உபதேசம் பெறச் சுக்கிரர் சென்றார்
மகாதேவனை நாடிக் கயிலை மலைக்கு.

4#10a. Sage Brugu’s Curse

Sukran told the asuras, “Narasimha moorthi killed HiraNyan and Varaaha moorthi killed HiraNyaakshan. Vishnu will take many more avatars to kill our race and our asura kings.I do not have the power to defeat Vishnu. I have to go to Lord Siva to get mantra upadesam and become strong enough to deal with Vishnu”

The asura got worried and said, “We are very weak and if some calamity befalls us in your absence, we can’t face it ”

Asura Guru Sukran said, “If we become weak due to unfavorable time, we must bide for a favorable time. Once the time becomes favorable, we must move in and crush our enemies.

Time has more power and influence than anything else in the world. Live peacefully and do not get into any controversies with the Deva till I come back. You may spend your time in doing penance till I return.”

The asura agreed to this. Sukran went to Mount Kilash to get the mantra upadesam from Siva.

12a. சூறாவளிப் பயணம்.

சுக்கிரனை அடிபணிந்த சூரபத்மன்
மிக்க மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் வெளிப் போந்தான்.

படைக் கடலுக்குள் நுழைந்தான் சூரன்
தடைகளைத் தகர்க்கவல்ல தம்பியருடன்.

தாயும் வந்து சேர்ந்தாள் அப்போது;
மாயையின் மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு ஓர் அளவில்லை.

“மேன்மைகள் பெற்றுவிட்டீர்கள் நீங்கள்;
வேண்டியபடி அண்டங்களின் ஆட்சியையும்.

சென்று வாருங்கள் என் செல்வங்களே!
வென்று வாருங்கள் 1008 அண்டங்களை!

என்று மாயைகளின் உதவி தேவையோ
அன்று நினைவு கூர்ந்தால் வந்து உதவுவேன்”.

முதல் இலக்கு குபேரனின் அளகாபுரி;
கடல் போன்ற அவுணர் படை நடந்தது.

கதிரவனின் தேரிலும் சிறந்தது ஆகிய
புதிய இந்திர ஞாலத்தில் அமர்ந்தான் சூரன்.

ஒளியும் ஆற்றலும் நிரம்பியது அது.
வெளியில் எங்கும் செல்ல வல்லது.

ஒரு கோடி குதிரைகள் பூட்டப்பட்டது!
ஒப்புயர்வற்ற படைக்கலன் நிறைந்தது!

முகிலும் அஞ்சும் வண்ணம் ஒலி எழுப்பி
திகிலை விதைப்பது கண்டவர் நெஞ்சில்!

பூதங்கள், யாளிகள், குதிரைகள் சேர்ந்து
வேகமாக இழுத்தன சிங்கமுகன் தேரை.

ஆனை முகனின் தேரை இழுத்தன – பத்து
ஆயிரம் சீரிய குதிரைகள் ஒன்று கூடி.

நால் வகைப் படைகளும் நடந்தன – பூமி
நடுங்கும் வண்ணம் ஓசை ஒலிகளுடன்.

2 (# 12 a). THE CONQUESTS BY SOORAN.

Soorapadman paid his respects to his guru Sukra and came out to join his army along with his two brothers.

At that time Maayai also arrived there. She was very happy to learn about Siva’s boons. She told them,”You have achieved greatness.

Go forth and rule the 1008 universe given to you. Whenever you need the maaya tricks think of me and I will come to your help.”

The first target was Kubera’s Alagapuri. The army resembled a huge ocean. Sooran sat in his new chariot Indra gnaalam which was superior to the chariot of the Sun God.

It could go anywhere Sooran wished to go. It shone brilliantly and had a good stock of all asthras and sathas. It a drawn by ten million horses. It made a tremendous noise which made the people shudder with fear.

The chariot of Singa mukan was drawn by the demons, yaalis and horses. Ten thousand fine horses drew the chariot of the Taraka asuran. The earth shook under the advancing footsteps of the army.

29d. புதன்

தவசீலர் கௌட தேசத்தில் ஒரு வேதியர்,
தவசீலரின் மனைவி ஜானகி, மகன் புதன்.

மணவயதை அடைந்து விட்டான் புதன்;
மணமுடித்தனர் சாதுப்பெண் சாவித்ரியை.

பச்சைக் கிளி போன்ற மனைவி இருந்தும்,
இச்சை தீர்க்கத் தேவை ஒரு வைப்பாட்டி!

வேசியர் வலையில் விழுந்தான் புதன்;
வேசியர் வீடே அவன் இருப்பிடம் ஆனது.

வேதியர் அறியவில்லை அவன் செய்கை;
வேதியர் அலைந்து தேடினார் புதனை!

நண்பன் கூறினான் அவன் இருப்பிடம் .
நண்பன் உதவியுடன் சென்றார் அங்கே!

‘தள்ளாடியபடி வந்துவிட்டது கிழம் – தன்
உல்லாச வாழ்க்கையைக் கெடுப்பதற்கு!’

ஆத்திரம் பீறிட வெளியே வந்தான் புதன்;
“கோத்திரம் என்ன? உன் குலம் என்ன?

பிறப்பால் உயர்ந்திருந்தும் உன்னுடைய
பிழைப்பால் தாழ்ந்து போய்விட்டாயே!

கண்ணும் கண்ணீருமாகக் காத்திருக்கும்
பெண்ணை மோசம் செய்யாதே மகனே!”

செவிடன் காதில் ஊதிய சங்கானது!
குருடனுக்குக் காட்டிய வழி ஆனது!

வேசிகளின் வலையில் சிக்கியவனிடம்,
பேசுவதால் விளையும் பயன் உண்டோ?

“புத்தி கூற வந்தாயா கிழவா?” என்று
சக்தியைத் திரட்டி அறைந்தான் அவரை.

உடல் தளர்ந்தவர் மனம் உடைந்தார்;
உடன் விழுந்து உயிரையும் விட்டார்!

யாரும் அறியாமல் புதைத்தான் உடலை
மேலும் பணம் எடுக்கச் சென்றான் வீடு.

#29d. Budhan

Thavaseelar was a brahmin living in Gowda desam. Janaki was his wife and Budhan his son. When Budhan grew up and became a young man, his parents got him married to a soft and sweet girl named Savithri.

A man may have a wife but he needs a concubine to fulfill his perversions. Budhan fell a prey to a prostitute and started living with her away from his home.

Thavaseelar did not know about this. He got worried and started looking for his son everywhere. Budhan’s friend told him about Budhan’s behavior and took the old man to the house where Budhan was staying.

Budhan became wild and turned violent when he saw his old father approach the house where he was living in pleasure. His father took him to task,

“Don’t you remember your race, your caste and your gothram? You are doing things unfit for a brahmin. Your young wife is waiting for you with eyes filed with tears. Let go back home”

But these words were wasted on Budhan. He became mad with rage and struck the old man with all his might. The old man was already weak. Now he became brokenhearted. He promptly fell down and died.

Budhan buried the dead body secretly and went home to fetch more money and valuables for the fallen woman.

4#10b. மந்திர உபதேசம்

பிரஹலாதனிடம் விண்ணப்பித்தனர் அசுரர்கள்,
“மறுக்காமல் செல்லவேண்டும் தேவரிடம் தூது!

மதிக்கின்றனர் தேவர்கள் உம்மை நன்றாக!
மதிப்பார்கள் தேவர்கள் உம் தூதை நன்றாக!”

பிரஹலாதன் சென்றான் தேவர்களிடம்,
பிரஹலாதன் சொன்னான் தேவர்களிடம்,

“புரியப் போவதில்லை அசுரர்கள் இனிப் போர்.
தரிக்கப் போகின்றனர் மரவுரிகளை இனிமேல்!

ஆயுதங்களை உதறித் தள்ளிச் செய்வோம்
ஆயதவம் ஒன்றையே இனிமேல்!” என்றான்.

நம்பினர் தேவர்கள் இந்த மொழியினை
நிம்மதியாக இருந்தனர் சில காலத்துக்கு!

கண் காணித்தனர் தேவர்கள் அசுரரை!
கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தனர் தவத்தில் அசுரரை!

இன்ப வாழ்வு வாழ்ந்தனர் சுவர்க்கத்தில்!
துன்பம் தரும் அசுரரை மறந்தே போயினர்!

தவ வேடம் தரித்தனர் அசுரர்கள் – அதிகத்
தவிப்புடன் காத்திருந்தனர் சுக்கிரருக்காக.

மஹாதேவனிடம் சென்று கோரினார் சுக்கிரர்,
“மந்திர உபதேசம் வேண்டும் மஹாதேவா!

தர வேண்டும் தடையற்ற வெற்றியை எமக்கு!
பெறவேண்டும் தேவர் இடைவிடாத தோல்வி!

மாற்று மந்திரங்கள் எதுவும் தெரியக்கூடாது
மாற்றார் குலகுரு பிரஹஸ்பதிக்கு!” என்றார்.

4#10b. Mantra Upadesam

The asuras went to their king Prahlaad and requested him to go the Devas as a messenger. The Devas had high regard for Prahlaad and would never doubt his words.

Prahlaad went to the Deva and said, “The asura have laid down their arms and become tapasvis. They want to live in peace doing penance.” The Devaas believed in him and his words.

They watched over the asuras and found them immersed in doing deep penance. The Deva felt relieved and lived happily in Heaven. In a shirt time they forgot all about the troublesome asuraas.

The asuras were waiting impatiently for the return of their guru Sukran after finishing his mission successfully. Sukran went to Lord Siva and wished for this boon!

“Oh Lord! I wish for your mantra upadesam which will give us the Asuraas constant victory and supremacy over everyone else. The Deva guru Bruhasptati should not know the mantraa which can cancel the effect of this mantra!“

12b. சரணாகதி அடைதல்

விரைந்து சென்ற தூதர்கள் சூரனின்
வரவைத் தெரிவித்தனர் குபேரனுக்கு;

“சிவன் அருள் பெற்ற சூரபத்மனை
எவன் வெல்ல முடியும்?” என அஞ்சி,

“சரண் அடைந்தால் உயிர் பிழைப்பேன்” என
முரண் படாமல் சென்று தொழுதான் குபேரன்.

“நான் உமக்கு அடிமை!” இது குபேரன்.
“நன்று! இந்நெறி மறவாதே!” இது சூரன்.

அளகாபுரியைக் கொள்ளை அடித்த அவுணர்
அளவில்லாத செல்வத்தை அள்ளிச் சென்றனர்.

அடுத்த இலக்கு அதற்குக் கீழ் திசையினில்.
நடுக்கத்துடன் மறைந்து போனான் இந்திரன்.

ஊரைக் கொளுத்தி நாசம் செய்த பின்னர்,
சூரன் அடைந்தான் அக்னியின் நகரை.

சினம் மிகுந்த அக்னி போர் செய்தான்.
பலம் மிகுந்த அவுணர்கள் வென்றனர்.

ஊழித் தீயாக உருவெடுத்த அக்னிதேவன்
பாழ் செய்யலுற்றான் அவுணர் படையை.

சடசட என்ற ஒலியுடன் பற்றி எரிந்து
படையினர் பலர் அழிந்து போயினர்.

தாரகன் வந்து எதிர்த்தான் அக்கினியை,
வீரத்துடன் அவன் சிவப்படையை எடுக்க,

“சிவப் படைக்கலம் அழித்து ஒழித்துவிடும்,
சினந்து அத்தனை உலகங்களையும்!”

குறுக்கிக் கொண்டான் வடிவினை அக்கினி,
“பொறுப்பீர் நான் செய்த பிழையை!” என்றான்.

அக்கினியைத் தாக்க முயன்றனர் அவுணர்கள்
அக்கினியின் செல்வதைப் பறித்துக் கொண்டனர்.

2 ( # 12. b) CHARANAAGATHI

The messengers informed Kuberan about the arrival of Soorapadman’s army. Kuberan knew that no one could defeat Sooran who had the protection of lord Siva. He decided to surrender unconditionally and save his skin.

“I am your slave sir!” Kuberan told Sooran.
“Good! never forget that fact!” replied Sooran.

His army looted all the wealth of Alagaapri. Then the army went eastwards. Indra disappeared silently. His city was burned down and the army reached the city of Agni Devan.

Agni fought with valour but the asuras were mightier. Agni took the form of the pralayaagni and started burning down the asura army.

Taarakn took out his Siva banam. It would destroy all the worlds. So agni shrunk his size and surrendered to Sooran. His wealth was looted by the army of asura.

 29e. சாவித்திரி

குணம் கெட்ட புதன் வெட்கம் இன்றிப்
பணம் எடுக்கச் சென்றான் தன் இல்லம்.

ஓடிவந்தாள் அவனைக் கண்டதும் அன்னை,
‘தேடித் தேடி அலுத்து விட்டோமே உன்னை!

சென்றுவிட்டாய் ஒன்றும் சொல்லாமல் நீ!
எண்ணாதது எண்ணிக் கலங்கி விட்டோம்!

உன்னைத் தேடிச் சென்றார் உன் தந்தை;
என்ன ஆனாரோ தெரியவில்லை!” என

வெறிகொண்ட புதன் அவளையும் ஓங்கி
அறைந்ததில் விழுந்து இறந்தாள் கிழவி!

புதைத்துவிட்டான் பெற்ற தாயையும்
குப்பை மேட்டில் முன்போல் ரகசியமாக.

தாயனைய மாமியைக் கொன்றுவிட்டான்!
பேயனைய புருஷனிடம் ஓடோடி வந்தாள்

“பரத்தையர் வலையில் வீழ்ந்தவர்கள்
சரித்திரமே இல்லை நன்கு வாழ்ந்ததாக!

பெற்ற தாய் தந்தையரைக் கொன்று
பெறப் போகும் இன்பம் தான் என்ன?

பணத்துக்காக உடலை விற்கும் இந்த
குணம் கெட்ட பெண்களிடம் மோஹம்!

அட்டை போல உறிஞ்சி எடுத்து விட்டு
வெட்டி விடுவார்களே இரக்கம் இன்றி.

என்னிடம் இல்லாத இன்பம் என்று
என்ன இருக்கிறது அப்பெண்களிடம்?

குடும்பத்தைக் குலைக்கும் குடிகேடிகள்!
நடுத் தெருவில் நிறுத்திவிடுவர் உம்மை!”

இரண்டு கொலைகள் செய்தவனுக்கு
எளிதாகி விட்டது மூன்றாவது கொலை.

அடித்துக் கொன்றான் அவளையும் – பிறகு
எடுத்துச் சென்றான் செல்வம் எல்லாம்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி

#29e. Savithri

Budhan was both shameless and remorseless. He went home to fetch more wealth for his concubine. His mother came running to him as soon as she saw him.

“Dear son! You went away without uttering a word. We were all getting worried. We were looking for you everywhere. Your father went in search of you. I wonder what is delaying him, now that you are already here!”

Budhan did not speak a word to her but hit her so hard that she too fell down in shock and gave up her ghost. The timid Savithri was bewildered by this and came running to him.

“Never in the history has the man flourished who has become a slave to a prostitute. You killed your parents just to enjoy with those women? They sell their bodies for money.

They will suck your blood dry and cast you on the street – broke and sick. What do you find in them that I do not possess? They ruin families and homes. You are sure to become a pauper soon”

For a man who had killed two people the third one became very easy. He beat his wife to death and took away all his wealth.

4#10c. கடின தவம்

விரும்பினான் சுக்கிரன் அசுரரின் நன்மையை!
விரும்பினான் சிவன் அமரரின் நன்மையை!

“விரதம் ஒன்று புரிய வேண்டும் சுக்கிரா!
பரிபக்குவம் அடைந்து உபதேசம் பெற.

ஓராயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் தலை கீழாக இருந்து
ஓமப்புகை மட்டுமே உட்கொள்ள வேண்டும்!”

ஒப்புக் கொண்டார் சுக்கிரர் விரதம் புரிந்திட;
தப்பாமல் செய்தார் மஹாதேவன் கூறியதை.

அறிந்தனர் தேவர்கள் இத்தவம் குறித்து!
புரிந்தது அசுரர் செய்த தவத்தின் நோக்கம்.

தவ வேடம் தாங்கிக் காத்திருக்கின்றனர்
தங்கள் குலகுரு சுக்கிரர் வருகைக்காக.

யுத்தம் புரியச் சென்றனர் தேவர் அசுரர்களுடன்
உத்தமர் வேடம் பூண்டனர் அசுரர் அப்போதும்

“பலஹீனம் அடைந்தோம்; அபயம் புகுந்தோம்
பல காலம் செய்கின்றோம் கடும் தவம் யாம்.

சொந்தக் காரணங்களுக்காக குரு சுக்கிரர்
செய்கிறார் இந்தக் கோரத் தவம்!” என்றனர்.

“நிராயுத பாணிகளுடன் புரியலாகுமா போர்?
சரணாகதி அடைந்தவரைத் தாக்கலாகுமா !”

அசுரர்களின் கூற்றை நம்பவில்லை அமரர்.
அசுரர்களின் வஞ்சகத்தை அறிவார்கள் நன்கு.

“போயிருக்கின்றார் சுக்கிரர் உம் பொருட்டே;
பொய் கூறுகின்றீர்கள் அனைவரும் ஒன்றாக.

தர்மமும் நீதியும் யுத்தத்தில் ஏது ? உடனே
தயாராகுங்கள் ஆயுதமேந்தி போருக்கு!”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
