Grandparents are busy and have no time for story telling sessions.
So I took over that duty and became the Universal Patti.

4 # 7 a. இரணியன் அறிவுரை.

அரசவையில் உடன் அமர்ந்திருந்தான்;
ஆற்றல் மிக்க அவுணன் இரணியன்.

ஆயிரம் மறைகளை உணர்ந்தவன்;
மாய வஞ்சனைகளில் தேர்ந்தவன்.

முன்னாளில் கீழுலகை வென்றவன்;
மூன்று தலைகளை உடையவன்.

அரசன் சூரபத்மனைப் போற்றிய பின்
உரைக்கலானான் பல அறவுரைகள்;

"தேவர்களைச் சிறை செய்வது தீமை;
தேவர்களைத் துன்புறுத்தினால் அழிவு!

மேன்மைகளைத் தந்த சிவபெருமானே
மேன்மைகளை மாற்ற எண்ணினால்;

போற்றி அவரை நாம் வழிபடுவோமா?
போரிட்டு அனைத்தையும் இழப்போமா?

அருள் மிக்க ஐயனை அடைக்கலம் என
அடைந்தவர் உய்வர்; மற்றவர் மாய்வர்.

பெருமானின் திருமகன் முருகனோடு
பொருதலும் நமக்கு நன்மை தருமோ?

முருகனின் திரு விளையாடல்களை
அறியாமல் மயங்குகின்றனர் தேவர்;

சிறுவன் என்று நீ இகழாதே அவனை!
சிறுவனாக வந்துள்ளது சிவபெருமானே!

வேற்படை முன் எப்படை வெல்லும்?
தோற்றமும் முடிவும் இல்லாத அந்த

முருகனை எதிர்த்து வெல்ல இயலுமா?
முருகன் சிறுவனாக இருந்த போதிலும்!

உறவினரோடு சரண் புகுவோம் நாம்!
உய்வோம் வாரும் உடனே செல்வோம்!"

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

4 # 7 a. Hiranyan's advice.

Hiranyan was seated in there at that time. He was a distinguished asura. He had learned all the Vedas. He was an exponent in Maayaa tricks. He was three headed. He had conquered the lower worlds earlier.

He praised Soorapadman and starting advising him thus,

" Imprisoning the Deva will harm us. Harming the Deva will also harm us. Siva had given us all these rare boons. If he decides to take them away, should we worship him seeking kindness or fight him and lose everything?

Siva is the manifestation of kindness. Those who seek refuge in Him will be saved. The others will perish.

Murugan is Siva himself manifesting as a child. Will fighting with him prove beneficial to us? Which asthram can face Murugan's spear?

He is the one truth without a beginning or an end, even if he appears as a mere child. Come on let us all go and surrender to him now and be saved ."
 
4 # 7 b. சூரபத்மனின் சீற்றம்.

இரணியன் உரைத்ததை செவி மடுத்தான்;
பெருகிய சினத்தால் விரல் நொடித்தான்.

"சிறுவன் முருகனைப் புகழுகின்றாய்!
ஒரு தூதுவனை ஏத்திப் புகலுகின்றாய்!

உனக்கு இவற்றைச் சொன்னது யார்?
உன்னை அச்சத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது யார்?

நான்முகன் நவில்கிறான் அரசவையில்
நாட்பஞ்சாங்கம் நான் கேட்டு மகிழ!

திருமால் தோற்றார் தம்பி தாரகனிடம்!
தினமும் கடல் மீன் தந்தான் இந்திரன்!

மேன்மைகள் தந்த சிவனே வந்தாலும்
மேன்மைகள் அழிவார் அவர் திண்ணம்.

அறிவு இழந்து போய்விட்டாயா நீ?
அச்சம் மிகுந்து போய்விட்டாயா நீ?

நாக்கூசாமல் பகைவனைப் புகழ்ந்து
நமனுலகுக்கு அனுப்ப வைக்காதே!"

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
4 # 7 b. Soorapadman's anger.

Soorapadman became very angry and cracked his fingers.

"How dare to talk so highly about Murugan and his messenger?

Who has told you all these things?
Who has sowed the seed of fear in your heart?

Brahma reads the almanac daily for my pleasure.
Vishnu was defeated by my younger brother Taarakan.

Indra used to bring us fish everyday.
Even is Siva comes to fight me now, He will get defeated.

Have lost your senses?
Are you frightened of the war?

If you speak highly on my enemies, I shall send you to yamalokam."
 
4 # 7 c. இரணியன் புறப்படுதல்.

நன்மை பகன்றாலும் பயன் இல்லை.
மேன்மைகள் அழிவது உறுதியானது.

"அறியாமல் பேசிவிட்டேன் தந்தையே!
சிறியேன் பிழையைப் பொருத்தருள்க!

போருக்குப் போகின்றேன் இன்று நானே!"
மாறும் மனத்தை வியந்தான் சூரபத்மன்!

தந்தையின் அனுமதி பெற்றான் மகன்,
தன் மாளிகையைச் சென்றடைந்தான்.

பூண்டான் போர்க்கோலம் இரணியன்.
பூண்டான் தும்பைப் பூ மாலைகளை.

ஆயிரம் மடங்கல்கள் பூட்டிய தேரில்,
ஆயிரம் துணைவர், தலைவருடனும்.

நகரை பூதங்கள் அழிப்பதைக் கண்டு
நாற்புறமும் அனுப்பினான் சேனையை.

போர் மூண்டது அசுரர், பூதர் இடையே.
வீரவாகு பொருதான் இரணியனோடு.

புரிந்தான் இரணியன் மாயப்போர்
பூதப் படைத் தலைவர் நீலருடன்.

அறிவுப் படைக்கலத்தினால் வீரவாகு
அழித்தான் இரணியனின் மாயையை!

பாணங்கள் பறந்தன இரு புறங்களிலும்.
பிணங்கள் விழுந்தன இரு புறங்களிலும்.

கயலாக மாறினான் தெய்வமறை ஓதி!
செயலிழந்து மறைந்தான் கடல் நீரில்!

வெற்றிச் சங்கை வீரவாகு முழங்கிட
ஒற்றர்கள் செய்தி கூற ஓடினர் சூரனிடம்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

'There is no use talking to my father. His fate is sealed!' Hiranyan told himself!

Hiranyan then spoke to his father with reverence,
"Please forgive my immature talk. I will go to the war today"

Soorapadman was amazed at the speed with which the young prince had changed his mind.

He gave him his blessings. Hiranyan went to his palace. He got ready for the war.

He wore his armor and flower garlands. His chariot was drawn by a thousand lions.

When he saw the demons demolishing the city he sent his army in all the four directions.

A terrible war broke out between the asura and the demons. Hiranyan resorted to war by trechery.

Veerabaau shot his arrow of knowledge which could break the effects of maayai. Arrows flew from both the sides. Dear warriors fell on both the sides.

When defeat was imminent, Hiranyan transformed himself into a fish and disappeared in to the sea.

Veerabaahu blew his conch as a mark of his victory. The messengers hurried to convey the news to their king Soorapadman.

known story .while reading in tamil and English, i am benefitted to correlate tamil and english words. wonderful
in tamil version you would have used poo ,ambu malaikalai since in english it is translated as armour and flowers please correct if i am wrong

4 # 8 a. அக்னிமுகாசுரன்.

சூர பத்மனின் மகன்களில் ஒருவன்
வீரன் அக்கினி முக அவுண இளவரசன்.

தாயின் கருவிலே உருவாகும் போதே
தாயின் உடலிலிருந்து சிந்திய தீயால்;

அன்னைக் கருவிலிருந்து பிறந்ததும்
அக்கினி முகன் என்னும் அரிய பெயர்.

திக் பாலகர்களை வென்ற வீரன் அவன்
திக் கஜங்களை வென்ற சூரன் அவன்.

தமையன் ஆதவனைச் சிறை செய்தான்.
தம்பியோ திங்களைச் சிறை செய்தான்!

மாயப் போர்கள் புரிவதில் வல்லவன்
தெய்வப் படைக்கலன்கள் பெற்றவன்.

போருக்குப் புறப்பட்டான் அக்னி முகன்
முரசொலியே வீழ்த்தியது முகில்களை.

போர் தொடங்கியது பூத, அவுணரிடையே.
தாரகைகள் உதிர்ந்தன! நிலம் அதிர்ந்தது.

இரு புறங்களிலும் பெரும் உயிர்ச்சேதம்!
பொருதனர் அக்கினிமுகன் வீரபுரந்தரர்.

பொருதனர் வீரரின் ஏழு இளவல்களும்!
அரிய படைக் கலனகளைச் செலுத்தினர்.

சிவப் படை செலுத்தினான் அவுணன்.
வருணப் படையைச் செலுத்தினர் வீரர்.

சிவப் படை விழுங்கியது வருணப்படையை.
சிவலோகத்துக்கு அனுப்பியது எழுவரையும்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
4 # 8 a. Agni mukaasuran .

Agni mukhan was one of Soorapadman's many sons. When he was in his mother's womb, she gave out fire from her body. So the baby was named as Agni mukhan.

He was a valorous prince. He had defeated ashta dig palakas and the ashta dig gajas. He had imprisoned the moon just as his brother Bhaanu koban had imprisoned the sun.

He was an expert in the maya tricks and had secured many divine asthrams. He got ready and left for the battle field.

The noise of the war drums made the clouds fall from the sky! A terrible war ensued between the asura and the demons. The earth trembled and the stars sprinkled down from the sky. There was a heavy loss of life in both the sides.

Veera purantharar fought with Agni mukhan. His seven younger brothers also joined him in the war. Agni mukhan shot the Siva asthram. The brothers shot the Varuna asthram.

The Siva asthram gobbled up the Varuna asthram and dispatched the seven brothers to Siva lokam.
 
4 # 8b. வீரவாகுவும், அக்கினி முகனும்.

வீரவாகு நெருங்கினான் அக்கினி முகனை;
வீர மொழிகள் பேசினர் இரு வீரர்களும்.

அம்புகள் எய்தனர் நாண் ஒலியை எழுப்பி.
அம்புகள் நேராக ஒன்றை ஒன்று அழித்தன.

ஆயிரம் கணைகள் எய்த அவுணன்
பாய்ச்சினான் வீரவாகுவின் நெற்றியில்!

ஆயிரம் கணைகள் செலுத்தி வீரவாகு
அழித்தான் அவுணனின் தேரை, வில்லை!

தடிப்படை எடுத்து வீசினான் அவுணன்
பொடிப்பொடி ஆக்கினார் அதை வீரவாகு.

காற்றுப் படையைச் செலுத்தினான் அவுணன்.
காற்றுப் படையைச் செலுத்தினார் வீரவாகு!

யமப் படையைச் செலுத்தினான் அவுணன்
யமப் படையைச் செலுத்தினார் வீரவாகு.

ஞாயிற்றுப் படையைச் செலுத்தினான் அவுணன்
ஞாயிற்றுப் படையைச் செலுத்தினார் வீரவாகு,

நஞ்சு பாய்ச்சிய நூறு கணைகளை அவுணன்
நெஞ்சில் பாய்ச்சினார் வீரவாகுத் தேவர்.

தேரில் விழுந்தான் மார்பில் குறுதி பொங்க .
நேரில் வந்த நமனும் அஞ்சினான் நெருங்க.

ஆபத்தில் உதவிடும் காளியின் வழிபாட்டை
அக்கினி முகன் செய்து வந்தது உண்டு.

உயிர் பிரியும் நேரத்தில் காளியை வந்து
உதவி செய்யுமாறு பிரார்த்தனை செய்தான்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

 
4 # 8 b. Veerabaahu and Agnimukhan.

Veerabaahu went near Agnimukhan. Both of them spoke out valorous words. Both of them shot their arrows. The arrows were well matched and destroyed each other.

Agnimukhan shot one thousand arrows and hurt Veerabaahu's forehead. Veerabaahu shot one thousand arrows and shattered Agnimukhan's chariot and his bow.

Agnimukhan threw his dandam and Veerabaahu promptly shattered it by an arrow.

Agnimukhan shot the Vaayu ashram. Veerabaahu also shot the Vaayu asthram.

Agnimukhan shot the asthram of Yama. Veerabaahu also shot the same.

Agnimukhan shot the asthram of Sun and Veerabaabhu also shot the same.

Veerabaahu shot one hundred poisonous arrows on Agnimukhan's chest. He collapsed on his chariot bleeding heavily.

Naman who came in person to take his life away was afraid to go near him.

Agnimukhan used to worship a Kali who would help in in the face of a danger. He remembered her and prayed to her to come to his help.

காளி போருக்கு வந்தாள் உடனேயே,
கூளிக் கூட்டங்கள் பல புடை சூழ.

வாளும், சூலமும் ஏந்தி இருந்தாள்;
கூளிக் கொடிகள் விண்ணை முட்டின.

சங்குகள், வாத்தியங்கள் முழங்கின.
சிங்கத்தின் மேல் அமர்ந்திருந்தாள்.

அக்கினி முகனுக்கு ஆறுதல் கூறி
அவனியோர் நடுங்க ஒலி செய்தாள்.

முத்தலைச் சூலத்தைப் பணித்தாள் காளி,
"முன் நிற்கும் பூதர்களை அழித்து வா!"

தீயைப் புகையைக் காளிக் கூட்டத்தைத்
தோற்றுவித்தது முத்தலைச் சூலம்.

பதிமூன்று கணைகள் செலுத்தி அதைப்
பல துண்டங்கள் ஆக்கினார் வீரவாகு.

வீரவாகுவின் ஆற்றல் சீற்றம் தந்தது.
வீரவாகுவைக் கொல்ல விரும்பினாள்.

வீசினாள் இன்னொரு சூலத்தை அவர் மீது!
விழுந்தது சூலம் ஆயிரம் கணைகள் பட்டு.

வாளை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு தன்மீது பாய்ந்த
காளியை மார்பில் அறைந்தார் வீரவாகு.

மயங்கி விழுந்தாள் காளி மண்ணில்!
மார்பு கிழிந்து உதிரம் பெருகியது.

ஆணவம் முற்றிலும் அடங்கினாள் காளி!
ஆணுக்கு நிகராகப் பெண் போரிடலாமா?

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

4 # 8 c. War with Kaali.

Kaali appeared there immediately. She was surrounded by the gangs Kooli. She carried a sword and a trisoolam. She was seated on a lion.

The flags her army carried touched the sky. Conchs and other instruments were played. She consoled Agnimukhan and then let out a terrible scream.

Kaali ordered her trisoolam,

" Go forth and kill all the demons in that army!" The trisoolam started producing fire, poisonous fumes and gangs of more and more kali.

Veerabaahu shot 13 arrows and shattered the trisoolam to pieces.
Kali became wilder after watching the valor of Veerabaahu.

She wanted to kill him. She threw another trisoolam at him. It was also shattered by one thousand arrows!

She jumped on Veerabaahu with the sword in her hand. Veerabahu held her hands together and hit her on her chest.

She fell faint and started bleeding heavily from the torn breasts. Her pride, courage and ego vanished. How can a woman fight with a strong nava sakti kumara and win him??

 
4 # 8d. அக்கினி முகன் வீழ்ந்தான்.

"அறிவில்லாமல் வந்தேன் போர் செய்ய!"
ஆற்றல் அழிந்தவள் எழுந்தாள் மெல்ல.

"உமக்கு நான் ஈடு இல்லை உணர்ந்தேன்.
நமது இடத்தில இருப்பதே நன்மை தரும்.

என்னைச் செல்ல அனுமதியுங்கள்.
பின்னர் அழியுங்கள் அவுணர்களை!

முருகனின் திருவருள் பெற்றுப் பல
வருடங்கள் இனிது வாழ்வீர் நீங்கள்."

விடை பெறும் காளி பணிந்து நின்றாள்.
விரைந்து திரும்பினாள் தன் இருப்பிடம்.

காளியைக் கண்டு அவுணன் சினந்தான்,
"காளியின் துணை தேவை இல்லை இனி!

அழைத்தேன் அவள் ஆற்றலைக் காண!
பிழைத்தால் போதும் என ஓடுகின்றாள்."

நான்முகப் படையை எய்தான் அவுணன்;
வீரபத்திரப் படையை எய்தார் வீரவாகு.

நடுங்கி ஒடுங்கியது நான்முகப் படை.
விடுத்த வீரபத்திரப்படை முன் சென்றது!

அவுணனின் உயிரைக் கவர்ந்து மீண்டது!
அக்கினி முகன் நிலத்தில் வீழ்ந்தான்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

 
4 # 8d. The fall of Agni Mukhan.

"It was foolishness to have come here to this war!" Kali spoke to herself. She got up slowly and spoke to Veerabaahu,

"I realized that I am no match for you! It is always safer to stay in one's own place. Please let me go back. You can kill the asuras after I go. May you live long by the grace of Murugan!" She went back to her place.

Agnimukhan became very angry watching Kali's behavior. "I do not need her help any more! I just wanted to watch her fight. She is running away to save her skin!"

The war was resumed there. Agnimukhan shot the Brahmaasthram. Veerabaahu shot the Veerabadra asthram. Brahma asthram got frightened and made way for the Veerabadra ashtram which went on and killed Agnimukhan.
