VINAAYAKA PURAANAM 1.
24a. Advaitham
King Janaka was an advaitha gnaani. He considered that God and jiva were one and the same. Since he considered everyone equal he did not pay obeisance even to those who deserved it.
“You are a God and I am also a God. Why should one God pay respect to another God?” he used to ask.
Narada blessed him once “You give away everything anyone needs. May you become richer and richer and may poverty disappear from your kingdom”
“God is the one who gives and God is the one who receives. Then why is there so much fuss about giving dhaanam?” Janakan asked Narada.
“You are talking from the angle of your concept Advaitham . I will prove beyond doubt that God is different from Jiva”. Narada went to sage Koundinya and sang there in praise of Lord Vinayaka.
“Janaka is blessed with everything, yet he does not realize that it is the gift of God. He thinks he is God and no different from God. Oh Lord Vinayaka! you must open his eyes to his folly and make him realize that a Jeeva can never be God”
Narada prayed to Lord Vinayaka.
