Swamiji Saraswathi is a well know godman here in TX among the Orthodox Brahmins and Fundamental Hindus...He ran a "popular" Ashram near Austin, and was recently convicted of multiple counts of rape charges brought forth by his disciples (I believe three teenage girls were molested routinely by our respected Swamiji!).. He was free on bail set at a million dollar cash.

He just disappeared into the thin air before sentencing (potentially about 100 year incarceration!) - he is a Fugitive now and in the Interpol list of Wanted Fugitives worldwide... it is believed that our beloved Swamji is in hiding in either Mexico or has gone to India in a fake passport with the help of some of his ardent followers.

His followers are shocked beyond belief! They say, "Oh, our Swamiji is a Man of Words and of very high moral and ethical codes"! Lol.

I tell these people, "Please, turn in the Swamiji to the US Marshals or Texas Rangers... Obey the Law of the Land, before you worship your Almighty Gods"

2. Godman Puttaparthi Sai Baba has many devotees in this Forum. He amassed multi-billions Rupees for his Trust, which runs schools and hospitals. Fine, great Public Service.

Alas.. he also had a Personal Vault which was opened recently in the presence of very respected Public Officials and Politicians:

He has hoarded several Crores of Rupees cash and several kilo grams of gold and silver!

My question to the devotees is "Why did he hoard all this cash and gold in his Personal Vault? What for? What was the source of all this wealth? All stolen wealth, black money?.... what the hell was going on with this Godman?"

p.s. I also read that one obscure Yogi who fasted to death in order to protect the Ganges! Saving Ganges is the most noble thing, in my opinion...Most people didn't know of him! While many knew of one Yogi Ramdev who fasted only for 9 days! And he is cheating the world with his Yoga sales and collusion with one Acharya Balakrishna of Napal!!! What's happening in the Bhakti World, anyway?

I stand by my opinion on Hon'able CM J Jaya in my post #55, as Mr. Nara kindly recalled here.

This is a solid example how people's views are misrepresented by people of "opposing views", perhaps.

Politically speaking, both Mu Ka and J Jaya are from the same Dravidian Ideology (as Ms. Harini acknowledged earlier), and in terms of corruption etc both are equally bad.

I will whip them both in the public square.

My comparison was the literary output and life' achievement as creative artists!

Of the 1.2 billion people in India, about 5% may be the Reformists (I call the Englightened of the kind of M/s Nara, K, Sangom Sir, Raghy, myself and million others), about 800 millions are the Religious Orthodox and the rest are the "Middle group of Weekend Wannabees".

For the dominant Orthodox group to become Reformists, they have to go through the Middle Group (I believe you are one of them, as per your posts elsewhere).. this movement is already happening in earnest.. that's a good sign.

My wish is that the dominant Orthodox people break open the Gates of Hell and run away to merge with the Middle group, and later move on to the Reformist side.

That will happen one day, I dare say... I only hope that occurs sooner than later.

That will be good for India and the world....

I have huge problems believing PLA is waiting to cross into our borders. And inherit 1.2 billion problems?

The india of old, was sparsely populated, wealthy and a paradise (albeit hot) compared to the parched lands of afghans, central asia or Persia.

But the india of today and the world of today is a different matter. Even the ex mighty ussr and the current mighty usa find it difficult, to bring about a semblance of order in Afghanistan, a minute mustard sized country. The ussr had a land border and still could do nada.

Any occupying army would be faced not only with local insurgency, but with immense logistic problem of feeding themselves, the populace and maintaining law and order.

The only way they could avoid such, is to do indiscriminate killing of millions. Which I do not think the PLA has the stomach to do.

Also, if you closely follow china of today, a lot of rumblings starting from their north west to deep south, and also from their own educated restless. Something tells me that PLA will be busy in the years to come, dealing with these. Unlike the Red Army of the USSR which buckled under gorbachov, the PLA has more entrenched graft, and those generals have a lot to lose.

But I would be more concerned of an internal break up. States like Punjab, north east, tamil nadu, Kashmir – all of these have a pretty lukewarm attitude towards the Indian union, in various degrees. Scratch the surface, and we have separatists lurking in these states.

And the biggest big threat – Maoists. Who are estimated to control 40% of the rural Indian landmass – in bimaru, Maharashtra, Andhra…

When IAC flight was hijacked by the Terrorists and the flight ultimately landed in KAndhahar,there was rumour in Newdelhi that one VVIP was in the flight and USA govt was worried that if the terrorists come to know about thisperson they may demand a heavy ransom.So USA govt pressurized Govt of India to release the wanted terrorists in exchange for all passengers including the VVIP.That was the reason the
Foreign Minister OF India accompanied the terrorists upto Kandhakar.It will be very difficult to know whether the news is authentic or concocted.

Vault is only a vault. I think there is no need to read too much into it. If Sai Baba can have a trust to which the appointees are all his choice, I do not find any difference between the vault and the Board of the trust. If the trust has been running hospitals, the vault's contents would also have been ear marked for some such thing only. It is reasonable to conclude that way than to think that the contents of the vault were all for some secret purpose. I read what is available on the newspapers and draw my conclusions. I do not allow my imagination to run riot. In the case of a sanyasi personal wealth makes no meaning. Cheers.

This is the Modes Operandi of how politicians make money in India, IMO:

"Insider Trading of Confidential Matters" - For example, the State decides to create 10 Industrial / Technology Parks... the CM and other ministers will be the first one to know WHERE these Parks will be located.

These ministers, including the CM, leaks this very sensitive matter to their relatives, business associates/partners and ask them to go and buy up all the lands in and around those places where Parks will be located.. the final decision comes after about 1-3 years..

Once the news is announced, the land prices in those areas skyrocket like poison to the head! These business partners of the ministers hold the lands for sometime, then they unload, amassing hundreds of crores of CAPITAL GAINS on the lands.

And, they move the money very many ways to hide it so they can cheat on the cap gain tax!

It's possible the Real Estate Bubble in India could very well collapse as it did in Japan and now in the US... the guy who is still holding the land for which he paid a huge premium will become a pauper!
