25. சங்கனன்
அன்றிரவு தூங்கும் போது குரல் கேட்டது,
நின்று தேடியும் காணவில்லை எவரையும்!
விண்ணில் இருந்து ஒலித்தது அந்தக் குரல்,
எண்ணங்களை அறிந்தது போலப் பேசியது!
“வடக்கே உள்ளது வேங்கடம் எனும் திருமலை;
தடாகம் உள்ளது சுவாமி பூஷ்கரிணி என்பது.
தடாகக் கரையில் உள்ளது எறும்புப் புற்று;
தடாகத்தில் நீராடி விடாமல் துதித்து வா!”
வேங்கட மலையில் தடாகத்தை அடைந்தனர்;
தங்குவதற்குக் குடில் அமைத்தனர் புற்றருகே.
மூன்று வேளை நீராடினான் பூஷ்கரிணியில்-மனம்
ஊன்றித் தொழுதான் பகவானை நாள் முழுவதும்.
சுவாமி மனம் கனிவதற்கு ஆறு மாதமானது
சுவாமி பூஷ்கரிணியில் தோன்றியது ஓர் ஒளி!
ரத்தின மயமான விமானத்தில் இருந்தனர்
யத்தனம் பலித்திட நாரணனும் தேவியரும்.
குழுமினர் தேவர்கள், துதித்தனர் முனிவர்;
ஆடினர் தேவ மகளிர்; பாடினர் கந்தருவர்.
புல்லரித்தது சங்கனனின் உடல் மகிழ்வால்,
சொல்லைக் கேட்டதும் துள்ளியது மனம்!
“உன் நாடு திரும்பும் நேரம் வந்தது!
உன் ஆட்சி திரும்பும் நேரம் வந்தது!”
சங்காச்யத்தில் சங்கடமான குழப்பம்;
சங்கனன் ஆட்சியே மேல் என்றானது!
தங்களுக்கே அரசபதவி வேண்டும் என்று
தானைத் தலைவர்கள் போட்டி இட்டனர்.
வேங்கட நாதன் அருள் பெற்ற மன்னன்
சங்கனன் திரும்பி வருவதை அறிந்தனர்.
குடிமக்கள் போர்க் கொடி தூக்கினர்;
பிடிவாதமாக அதிகாரிகளைச் சாடினர்!
சிற்றரசர்கள் ஆதரித்தனர் அரசனையே;
முற்றிலும் தோற்று விட்டனர் அதிகாரிகள்.
நாட்டை விட்டு ஓடிவிட்டனர் காட்டுக்கு;
நாட்டை மீட்டு ஆட்சி செய்தான் சங்கனன்.
வேங்கட நாதனின் பேரருளே அவனுக்குச்
சங்கடம் தீர்த்தது; ராஜ்ஜியம் அளித்தது.

25. சங்கனன்

மூன்று வேளை நீராடினான் பூஷ்கரிணியில்-மனம்
ஊன்றித் தொழுதான் பகவானை நாள் முழுவதும்.
சுவாமி மனம் கனிவதற்கு ஆறு மாதமானது
சுவாமி பூஷ்கரிணியில் தோன்றியது ஓர் ஒளி!
ரத்தின மயமான விமானத்தில் இருந்தனர்
யத்தனம் பலித்திட நாரணனும் தேவியரும்.
குழுமினர் தேவர்கள், துதித்தனர் முனிவர்;
ஆடினர் தேவ மகளிர்; பாடினர் கந்தருவர்.
புல்லரித்தது சங்கனனின் உடல் மகிழ்வால்,
சொல்லைக் கேட்டதும் துள்ளியது மனம்!
“உன் நாடு திரும்பும் நேரம் வந்தது!
உன் ஆட்சி திரும்பும் நேரம் வந்தது!”
சங்காச்யத்தில் சங்கடமான குழப்பம்;
சங்கனன் ஆட்சியே மேல் என்றானது!
தங்களுக்கே அரசபதவி வேண்டும் என்று
தானைத் தலைவர்கள் போட்டி இட்டனர்.
வேங்கட நாதன் அருள் பெற்ற மன்னன்
சங்கனன் திரும்பி வருவதை அறிந்தனர்.
குடிமக்கள் போர்க் கொடி தூக்கினர்;
பிடிவாதமாக அதிகாரிகளைச் சாடினர்!
சிற்றரசர்கள் ஆதரித்தனர் அரசனையே;
முற்றிலும் தோற்று விட்டனர் அதிகாரிகள்.
நாட்டை விட்டு ஓடிவிட்டனர் காட்டுக்கு;
நாட்டை மீட்டு ஆட்சி செய்தான் சங்கனன்.
வேங்கட நாதனின் பேரருளே அவனுக்குச்
சங்கடம் தீர்த்தது; ராஜ்ஜியம் அளித்தது.

25. Sankanan
On that night when Sankanan fell asleep, he heard a voice. He got up from his bed and looked around but found none there. Now the voice spoke from the sky. It spoke as if it had read his innermost thoughts correctly.
“Venkatagiri is to the north of this place. There is a pond called Swami PushkariNi. There is an anthill on the bank of the pond. Take a holy dip in the Swami PushkariNi and worship the lord.”
He reached Venkatagiri and the Swami PushkariNi with his wife and the ministers. They erected a hut near the anthill for their stay. He bathed thrice a day in the Swami PushkariNi and worshiped the lord all day long. The lord took pity on Sankanan after six months.
A brilliant light appeared in Swami PushkaiNI. There appeared a gem studded vimaaanam of a temple. He saw lord Sreenivaasan with his consorts in that brilliant temple..
The Deva had gathered there. The Gandharva sang celestial songs. The apsaras danced and the rushis praised the lord in the mandapams.
Sankanan felt dazed and happy. He heard the lord’s voice clearly now, “It is time for you to go back to your kingdom. It is time for you get back your leadership!”
Confusion prevailed in Sankaasyam. Everyone wanted to become the new king and there was perpetual confusion and competition. People thought that the rule of Sankanan was far better to this state of affair.
They heard that the king was returning after winning the grace and blessings of Sreenivaasan himself. They got ready to welcome him warmly. They disobeyed the army leaders.
The courtiers and the kings under Sankanan’s control were supporting him now. The power seekers and the miscreants had to disappear from the kingdom, to get away with their precious lives.
Sankanan was given warm welcome and got back his leadership. He was for ever grateful to Sreenivaasan who helped him win back his kingdom and power.

சரணடைந்தான் ச்யவன முனிவரிடம் இந்திரன்;
"சரணம் அடைந்தேன் தவசீலரே உம்மிடம் நான்!

கொடுக்கின்றேன் நான் உறுதி மொழி உங்களுக்கு!
தகுதி உடையவர்களே அஸ்வினி தேவதைகள்
மிகுந்த அமரருடன் சோம ரசம் அருந்துவதற்கு!
பரவட்டும் சர்யாதியின் புகழ் புவனத்தில்!
பரவட்டும் ச்யவனரின் புகழ் அவனியில்!"
தணிந்தது சினம் ச்யவன முனிவர் மனதில்
பணிந்துவிட்ட இந்திரனைக் கண்டவுடன்.
தடுத்து நிறுத்தினார் அசுரன் மதனை - அவனுகுக்
கொடுத்து அனுப்பினார் மூன்று உருவங்களை.
அனுப்பினார் அம்மூவரையும் திருப்தி அடையுமாறு
மனத்தை மயக்கும் மது, சூதாட்டம், வேட்டைகளில்.
நிறைவேறியது யாகம் இனிய முறையில் - சோமரசம்
குறைவின்றி அருந்தினர் அஸ்வினி தேவர் பிறருடன்.
புகழ் அடைந்தனர் சர்யாதியும், ச்யவனரும்,
புகழ் அடைந்தது அவர்கள் செய்த சோமயாகம்.
மகன் ஆனர்த்தன் பிறந்தான் மன்னன் சர்யாதிக்கு
மகன் ரேவதன் பிறந்தான் அந்த ஆனர்த்தனனுக்கு;
அமைத்தான் குசஸ்தலீ நகரைக் கடலில்
அமைந்தான் நூறு மகன்கள், ஒரு மகளுடன்.
மருமகன் ஆகும் தகுதி உடைய அரசனை
அறிந்திட விரும்பினான் பிரமனிடம் கேட்டு.
சென்றான் ரேவதியுடன் பிரம்ம லோகம்;
சென்றது பல காலம் பிரம்மனின் துதியில்!
இன்னிசையுடன் துதித்துக் கொண்டு இருந்தனர்
கந்தர்வர்களும், சித்தர்களும் பிரம்ம தேவனை.

Indra surrendered to Sage Chyavana. " I surrender to you oh Sage Chyavana! Please stop your demon Madan from harming me. I agree to it that the Ashwini kumaaraas are qualified to share the Soma rasa with the other Devaas. May king Sharyaati's fame spread in this world. May Sage Chyavana's fame spread in all the worlds"
Sage Chyavana became calm on seeing Indra subdued and humble. He stopped the demon Madan from harming Indra and gave him three different forms. These three forms were sent away to satisfy themselves in drinking, gambling and hunting.
The Soma yaagaa was completed. The Ashwini Devataas shared the Soma rasa with all the other Devaas. King Sharyaati, Sage Chyavana and the soma yaagaa performed by them became famous all over the world.
King Sharyaati got a son whom he named as Aanartan. He was blessed with a son named Revatan who established a city Kuchasthali in the sea. He had one hundred sons and one daughter named Revati.
He wanted to find the right husband for his daughter by consulting the God of creation Brahma. He went to Brahma lokam with Revati to meet Brahma. Gandarvaas and siddhaas were singing the praise of Brahma. Not wishing to interrupt the stuti, Revatan and Revati waited there until the stuti was completed.

Dakshan the yejamaan of the yaagaa started the yaagaa with the three kinds of fire.He gave the necessary orders to the other performers of the yaagaa.
The mantras were chanted by a person. Another person performed the yaaga. The third person called out the names of the Deva. The fourth person offered the Deva his share of Havis.
Another person sat there making sure that everything was done as per the rules of the yaagaa. They called out and offered the share of havis to all the Devas excluding Siva.

அந்தணரின் மகன் ஆத்மா ராமன்.
தெய்வ பக்தி மிகுந்தவன் – எனவே
தெய்வ அருள் பெற்று இருந்தான.
வேத வேதாந்தங்களைக் கற்றவன்;
பேதமின்றி மதித்தனர் அனைவரும்.
மறைந்து போனார் அவன் தந்தை-ஆனான்!
பெரும் செல்வத்துக்கு புது அதிபதியாக!
பணம் வர முழுவதும் மாறிப் போனான்;
குணத்தை முற்றிலும் இழந்து விட்டான்.
குல ஆசாரங்களைத் துறந்து விட்டான்;
குல தெய்வத்தையும் மறந்து விட்டான்.
தலைக்கு ஏறியது செல்வச் செருக்கு;
விலைக்கு வாங்கினான் இன்பத்தை.
“குந்தி தின்றால் குன்றும் மாளும்” போலவே
குறைந்தும், மறைந்தும் போனது செல்வம்!
பணம் போனவுடன் போயிற்று கௌரவம்!
குணம் என்றோ போய்விட்டது அல்லவா?
ஒதுக்கி வைத்தனர் வறுமை வந்தவுடன்;
மதிக்கவில்லை குலத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.
“குலத்தைக் கெடுக்க வந்த கோடரிக் காம்பு!”
பலவித பரிஹாசங்களைக் கேட்டு நொந்தான்.
நட்பு என்று சொல்ல யாரும் இல்லை!
நாணம் வந்தது உறவினரைக் காண.
ஊரை விட்டே வெளியேறி விட்டான்;
ஊர் ஊராக அலைந்து திரிந்தான் அவன்.
கால்போன திசையில் நடந்து சென்றவன்
கலியுக வரதனின் திருமலை அடைந்தான்.

Aatmaa Raaman was the son of a Brahmin who lived in the Vindhya region. He was very pious, learned man and everyone respected him as they did his father.
Suddenly his father passed away. Aatmaa Raaman became the sole heir of a huge fortune. The money corrupted him. He became a slave to money and forgot all his god qualities. He gave up his aachaar and vichaar. He forgot even his own family deities.
He went seeking pleasure and spent huge money in that effort. No fortune will remain inexhaustible when drained unscrupulously by the owner. The huge fortune dissolved and disappeared steadily.
Those who had respected him for his money now boycotted him. His own kin and kith made fum of him He was subjected to several unkind comments. He did not have a single true friend to turn to.
He went away from his home and his town. He roamed around wherever his legs took him. Soon he had reached the Tirumala of Sreenivaasan – the Kaliyuga Varadan.

"பிரம்மலோகம் செல்ல இயலும் - நன்கு
பிரம்ம வித்தை அறிந்த அந்தணனுக்கு.
சென்றது எப்படி ரேவதன் ரேவதியுடன்?
செல்ல இயலுமா விண்ணுலகு உடலோடு?
விளங்கவில்லை எனக்கு இவை சிறிதும்,
விளங்குமாறு சொல்லுங்கள் முனிவரே!"
"இருக்கின்றன மேருவில் பல சிகரங்கள்,
சிறந்த லோகங்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒருங்கே.
போய் வர முடியும் அந்த லோகங்களுக்கு;
போவர்கள் விண்ணுலகு அந்திம காலத்தில்.
செல்ல இயலும் புண்ணியசாலிகள் எங்கும்;
செல்ல இயலும் அசுரருக்கு பெற்ற வரங்களால்.
கந்தர்வர்களின் இன்னிசைத் துதி முடிந்தது
வந்த வேலையை நினைவு கூர்ந்தான் ரேவதன்.
"வந்துளேன் ரேவதிக்கு ஏற்ற அரசனைத் தேடி;
எந்த அரசனையுமே பிடிக்கவில்லை எனக்கு.
படைக்கையில் இன்னாருக்கு இன்னார் எனப்
படை த்திருப்பீர்கள் நீங்கள் என்று அறிவேன் "
காலத் தத்துவத்தை அறியவில்லை ரேவதன்;
பூலோகத்தில் ஓடிவிட்டன ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள்.
"துவாபர யுகம் நடந்து கொண்டுள்ளது - உன்
தேசத்தை ஆக்கிரமித்துள்ளனர் அசுரர்கள்.
அரசாள்கிறான் உன் நாட்டைக் கம்சன்;

"பிரம்மலோகம் செல்ல இயலும் - நன்கு
பிரம்ம வித்தை அறிந்த அந்தணனுக்கு.
சென்றது எப்படி ரேவதன் ரேவதியுடன்?
செல்ல இயலுமா விண்ணுலகு உடலோடு?
விளங்கவில்லை எனக்கு இவை சிறிதும்,
விளங்குமாறு சொல்லுங்கள் முனிவரே!"
"இருக்கின்றன மேருவில் பல சிகரங்கள்,
சிறந்த லோகங்கள் அனைத்தும் ஒருங்கே.
போய் வர முடியும் அந்த லோகங்களுக்கு;
போவர்கள் விண்ணுலகு அந்திம காலத்தில்.
செல்ல இயலும் புண்ணியசாலிகள் எங்கும்;
செல்ல இயலும் அசுரருக்கு பெற்ற வரங்களால்.
கந்தர்வர்களின் இன்னிசைத் துதி முடிந்தது
வந்த வேலையை நினைவு கூர்ந்தான் ரேவதன்.
"வந்துளேன் ரேவதிக்கு ஏற்ற அரசனைத் தேடி;
எந்த அரசனையுமே பிடிக்கவில்லை எனக்கு.
படைக்கையில் இன்னாருக்கு இன்னார் எனப்
படை த்திருப்பீர்கள் நீங்கள் என்று அறிவேன் "
காலத் தத்துவத்தை அறியவில்லை ரேவதன்;
பூலோகத்தில் ஓடிவிட்டன ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள்.
"துவாபர யுகம் நடந்து கொண்டுள்ளது - உன்
தேசத்தை ஆக்கிரமித்துள்ளனர் அசுரர்கள்.
அரசாள்கிறான் உன் நாட்டைக் கம்சன்;
ஆதிசேஷனின் அவதாரம் பலராமன்.

7#8. Revathi's wedding
King Janamejayan raised another doubt now. "The brahmin who had obtained true knowledge can travel to Brahma lokam I agree. But how did Revathan and Reavthi manage to go to Brahma lokam with their physical bodies?"
Sage Vyaasa said, "There are many peaks in the Mount Meru. All the higher worlds are situated right there. It is possible for a human to visit those worlds in their physical bodies. The asuraas can visit because of the boons obtained by them. Those who have earned punya can travel to those lands.
The music of the Gandharvaas finished. Revathan remembered the purpose of his visit. He told Brahma, "I have come here to find a sutble king to marry my daughter Revathi. I am sure as the creator you must be knowing that person"
But Revathan did not understand the ratio of one day on the earth and one day in the Devalokam. While he and Revathi stood listening to the stuti of Brahma, one thousand years had passed on earth.
Brahma said," Now it is dwaparayugam on the earth. You counrtry is now nder the rulomkamsam. Balram, the elder brother of krishn will be suitable to mayyr your daughterhe is the amsam of Aadhiseshan.
Revathan goT revathy married to Blaram. He then went for vanavaasam, dird penanen and obtained liberation from samsaaraa.

தக்கனின் வேள்வியைப் பற்றி நாரதர்
தக்க சமயத்தில் உரைத்தார் சிவனிடம்.
தக்கன் வேள்வியைக் காணும் அவா
தக்கன் மகள் மனத்தில் வளர்ந்தது!
முக்கண்ணனிடம் அனுமதி கேட்டாள்
தக்கன் யாகத்தைக் கண்டு வருவதற்கு.
“சிறுமை அடைவாய் வேள்வியில்!
ஒரு போதும் செல்ல வேண்டாம் நீ!”
கணவன் தடுத்தும் கேட்கவில்லை;
“கணப்பொழுதில் வருவேன்” என்றாள்.
மகளைக் கண்ட தக்கன் மகிழவில்லை;
மகளைக் கேலி செய்து பேசலுற்றான்!
“சிவனார் மனைவியார் எங்கு வந்தீர்?
அவனுக்கே அழைப்பு இல்லை இங்கே!”
“தங்கையருக்குச் செய்தீர் சிறப்புக்கள்;
உங்கள் மருகர்களுக்கு மேன்மைகள்!
திங்கள் அணி பிரான் செய்த தவறென்ன?
எங்களை நீர் வெறுத்து ஒதுக்குவது ஏன்?”

கபில தீர்த்தத்தில் நீராடினான் முதலில்,
கபிலேஸ்வரரைத் தரிசித்தான் கண்குளிர.
தீர்த்தங்கள் அனைத்திலும் நீராடினான்;
தீர்ந்தன அவன் பாவச் சுமைகள் அவற்றில்.
சுவாமி புஷ்கரிணியை நோக்கிச் சென்றான்.
சுவாமி தரிசனம் செய்தது போல மகிழ்ந்தான்.
கோடி சூரியப் பிரகாசத்துடன் ஒரு குஹையில்
தேடினாலும் கிடைக்காத சனத்குமாரர் இருந்தார்.
வலம் வந்து நமஸ்கரித்தான் அவரை – தன்
வளம் குன்றிவிட்ட பின்புலத்தைக் கூறினான்.
“முற்பிறவியில் நான் செய்த பாவம் என்ன?
முக்காலமும் அறிந்த நீர் சொல்லுங்கள்!” என,
“தான தர்மங்களை இகழ்ந்து பேசினாய்;
தானம் பெறுபவர், தருபவர் இருவரையும்.
நல்ல செயல்களைத் தடுத்தாய் – போனாய்
பொல்லாத வழிகளில் நன்னெறி தவறி!
தந்தையின் புண்ணியம் காத்தது உன்னை!
தந்தை சென்ற பின்னர் பற்றின பாவங்கள்.”
“வியாதியஸ்தனுக்கு வைத்தியன் போலவும்,
வறியவனுக்குக் கிடைத்த புதையல் போலவும்,
காயும் பயிருக்குப் பெய்யும் மழை போலவும்,
தீயோன் எனக்குக் கிடைத்துள்ளீர்கள் நீங்கள்.
இன்னல்கள் தீர வழி கூறுங்கள் சுவாமி!
இனிதும் என்னால் தாள முடியாது சுவாமி!”

27. Aatmaa Raaman (2)
Aatmaa Raaman believed that worshiping God in Tirumala would put an end to all his sufferings and wash away his sins. He took a dip in the Kapila Theertam first and had a darshan of Kapileshwar.
Then he bathed in all the other holy theertams one after another. His sins got washed way by the dip in these holy theertams. He went to Swaami PushkariNi.
He felt happy as if he had got a darshan of the lord himself. He saw Sage Sanant Kumaar – one of the four the Brahma gnaani bothers- sitting in a cave, with the brilliance of ten million suns shining together.
He paid his obeisance and related his tale of misfortune to the sage Sanat kumaar. He prayed to the sage, “Please tell me what are the sins I had committed in my previous birth to suffer in this manner”
The sage replied, “You spoke ill of Daanam and Dharmam. You made fun of those who gave daanam as well as those who received it. You stopped many good deeds from taking place.
You did many wicked deeds prohibited by saastra. Your father was a goodman. So as long as he was alive his puNya protected you also. After he was gone, the effects of your sins afflicted you.”
Aatma Raaman requested the sage Sanat Kumaar, “You have appeared to me as a vaidhya to the sick, as a rare treasure to a beggar and as a cool shower to the withering crops. Please tell me how to get out of this mess I have got into. I can not take any more of this!”

சிறந்த தீக்ஷை பெற்றான் நாரதமுனியிடம்.
தியானித்தான் சக்தி தேவியைக் குறித்து;
தவம் செய்தான் பல ஆண்டுகள் விடாது.
பிறந்தனர் நூறு மகன்கள் அவனுக்கு;
இருந்தான் அயோத்தி மன்னனாக விகுஷி.
இருந்தனர் இரு மகன்கள் அரசனுடன்;
சென்றனர் வட திசைக்கு ஐம்பதின்மர்.
சிரார்த்தம் செய்யவிருந்தான் இக்ஷ்வாகு;
சிரார்த்தத்துக்குத் தேவை தூய இறைச்சி.
வேட்டைக்கு அனுப்பினான் மகன் விகுஷியை
வேட்டையாடினான் விகுஷி அனுபவசாலியாக.
மறந்து விட்டான் பசி, தாகத்தின் தாக்கத்தால்;
சிறந்த இறைச்சியைச் சுவைக்கலகாது என்று.
கொன்று சமைத்துத் தின்றான் ஒரு முயலை.
கொண்டு வந்து தந்தான் பிற பிராணிகளை.
தெரிந்து விட்டது வசிஷ்டருக்கு இது பற்றி;
பொரிந்து தள்ளிவிட்டார் மிகுந்த சினத்துடன்.

King Saryaati went to Mount Meru. His weakened race left the country later. Ikshvaaku was born in the Soorya vamsam. He got upadesam from Narada. He meditated on Shakti Devi and did severe penance for a long time.
He got one hundred sons. Vikukshi became the king of Ayodhya. Two of the king's sons stayed with him. Fifty of the hundred sons went northwards and forty eight sons went Southwards to establish their own kingdoms
Ikshvaaku wanted to perform a sraardam. He needed pure and uncontaminated meat for that purpose. So he sent his son Vikukshi to go hunting and fetch the fresh meat.
Vikukshi hunted down many animals with expertise. He became very hungry and thirsty due to the hunting expedition. He cooked and ate just one of the rabbits hunted by him.
He brought and handed over the rest of the hunted animals untouched. But sage Vasishta came to know about this and became very angry.

திருவென்னும் செல்வத்துக்கு அதிபதி!
பூரணச் சந்திரன் போன்ற முகத்தினள்;
கருணையே வடிவாகிக் காக்க வந்தவள்,
வியூக லக்ஷ்மியாக இருந்து தருவாள்,
விஜயம், புகழ், செல்வம் இவை நமக்கு.
முற்பிறப்பில் செய்த பாவங்கள் தீர்ந்திட
பொற் பதங்களைச் சிக்கெனப் பற்றுவாய்!
தாமரை மலரில் அமர்ந்து கொண்டு அவள்
தங்குகிறாள் வேங்கட நாதனின் மார்பில்.”
லக்ஷ்மியின் திருமந்திரத்தை உபதேசித்தார்.
லக்ஷியத்துடன் அவனை ஜபிக்கச் சொன்னார்.
பய பக்தியுடன் பெற்றான் உபதேசம்-அதை
சுய புத்தி மாறாமல் நடந்தான் உச்சரித்து.
சுவாமி புஷ்கரிணியை அடைவதற்குள்
சுலபமாகி விட்டது அந்த மந்திர ஜபம்.
அனைத்துத் தீர்த்தங்களிலும் மேலான
அந்தத் தீர்த்தத்திலும் நீராடினான் அவன்.
அரிய காட்சி தெரிந்தது அருகே வனத்தில்.
அழகிய விமானத்துடன் ஆலயம் ஒன்று.
மண்டபத்தில் குழுமி இருந்தனர் தேவர்;
கண்டான் ஆலயத்தில் அற்புத தரிசனம்.
சங்கு, சக்கரம், கிரீட, குண்டலங்களுடன்
வேங்கடேசன் இருந்தார் தேவியர்களோடு.
கண் கொள்ளாக் காட்சியில் மெய் சிலிர்த்து
தெண்டனிட்டவன் இருந்தான் தடாகம் அருகே!
குறைவற்ற செல்வம் தேடி வந்தது அவனை!
நிறைவான வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்தான் நெடுநாள்.

“ஒரு வழி இருக்கிறது இன்னல் தீர்ந்திட,
திருமகள் கருணையைப் பெறுவது அது!

28. Aatmaa Raaman (3)
Sage Sanat Kumaar gave his advice. “There is only one way to get out of this difficulty. You have to seek the blessings of Lakshmi Devi – the consort of Lord Naaraayan. Her abode is the broad chest of the lord. She is the goddess of wealth.
She has a beautiful face which will put to shame the full moon itself. She is the personification of mercy. She bestows on her devotees Victory, Fame and Wealth. Catch hold of her lotus feet to get out of the sins you have committed in the past births.”
The sage taught Aatma Raaman the mantra of Lakshmi Devi. He was advised to chant it with a definite purpose. He got the upadesam with humility and walked to the Swaami PushkariNi while chanting the mantra.
He took a dip in the Swami PushkariNi and reached its bank. He got a vision in a forest nearby. There appeared a temple with a beautiful vimanam. Its mandapams were filled the Deva.
He had the darshan of lord Venkatesa with his consorts. The lord appeared with his conch, Sudharshan, gem studded crown and makara kundalams. He forgot himself at the beauty and suddenness of this vision.
His prostrated in front of the lord but found himself standing at the bank of the PushkariNi. He became rich once again and lived a life of contentment remembering the grace of Lakshmi Devi and the lord Sreenivaasan.

துரத்தி விட்டனர் விகுஷியைக் காட்டுக்கு!
விரக்தியோடு காட்டில் வாழ்ந்தான் விகுஷி.
முயலைச் சமைத்துத் தின்று விட்டதால் - அவன்
பெயர் மாறிவிட்டது சசாதனன் என்று இப்போது.
மறைந்து விட்டான் இக்ஷ்வாகு ஒருநாள்;
திரும்பி வந்தான் விகுஷி அயோத்திக்கு.
அயோத்தியை ஆண்டான் அரசனாக இருந்து
அனேக யாகங்கள் புரிந்தான் சரயு நதித் தீரத்தில்.
தோற்றுவிட்டனர் தேவர்கள் போரில் அசுரரிடம்;
தேவர்கள் சரண் புகுந்தனர் விஷ்ணு பிரானிடம்.
'சசாதனனைக் கோருங்கள்; உதவுவான் போரில்!"
சசாதனன் விதித்தான் உதவுவதற்கு ஒரு நிபந்தனை.
"மாற வேண்டும் இந்திரன் என்னுடைய வாகனமாக!
புரிவேன் யுத்தம்; வெல்வேன் அசுரர்களைப் போரில்!"
மறுத்து விட்டான் இந்திரன் வாகனமாக மாறுவதற்கு;
மறுத்தவனை உடன்படச் செய்தார் விஷ்ணுப்பிரான்.
கருத்துக்கள் பலவற்றை எடுத்து உரைத்தார் விஷ்ணு;
மறுக்க முடியவில்லை இந்திரனால் அக்கருத்துக்களை.
எருதின் வடிவம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டான் இந்திரன்;
எருதின் மீது அமர்ந்து போர் புரிந்தான் விகுஷி.
வென்றான் அசுரர்களைப் போரில் சசாதனன் ;
தந்தான் அசுரர்கள் பறித்த பொருட்களை மீட்டு.
ஆனான் காகுஸ்தனாகக் காளை மீது ஏறியதால்,
ஆனான் இந்திரவாகனன் இந்திரன் மீது ஏறியதால்.
புரஞ்சயன் ஆனான் புரங்களை வென்றதால்;
புகழ் பெற்றனர் வம்சத்தினர் காகுஸ்தர்களாக.
வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

Vikukshi was driven to a forest mercilessly in order to pacify Sage Vasishta. He lived in the forest a disinterested life. His name had changed to Sasaadanan since he cooked and ate a rabbit.
When King Ikshvaaku was no more Vikukshi returned to Ayodhya and became its ruler. He ruled well and performed many yagnas and yaagaas on the bank of river Sarayu.
Devaas and Asuraas fought a war in which the Asuraas defeated the Devaas. Devaas sought the assistance of Vishnu and Vishnu advised them to take the help Vikushi to win the war.
Vikushi agreed to help the Devaas on one condition. Indra must become his vaahana. Indra felt humiliated and would not agree to this condition. But Vishnu spoke to him and convinced him.
Indra took the form of a bull. Vikukshi rode on that bull and fought with Asuraas. He defeated them and got back all the treasures looted by them from the Devaas.
Vikukshi got the name as Kaakusthan since he rode on a bull. He got the name as Indra Vaahanan since he rode on Indra as his vaahanam. He won the name as Puranjayan since he defeated the asuraas.
Vikukshi's descendants were known as Kaakusthaas.
