#25c. பிரம்மோத்ஸவம்

பிரமன் தெரிவித்தான் தொண்டைமானுக்கு
பிரம்மோத்ஸவத்துக்கான பல விவரங்களை.

பொன்னும், மணியும் வாரித் தந்தான் - அவன்
முன் வந்தான் உற்சாகமாக உற்சவம் நடத்த.

செய்தி பரவியது நான்கு திசைகளிலும்;
எய்தினர் உவகை செய்தியைக் கேட்டவர்.

குவிந்தனர் ஜனங்கள்; உருவாகின வீதிகள்;
குழுமினர் தேவர்கள்; உருவாகின கூடாரங்கள்!

காணக் கிடைக்காத காட்சிகள் கிடைத்தன.
காணிக்கை அளித்தனர் தம் சக்திக்கு ஏற்ப.

திருவிழா நடந்தது வெகு கோலாகலமாக.
திரும்பினர் தம் இருப்பிடம் குதூகலமாக.

தொண்டைமானுக்குப் பிரிய மனம் இல்லை.
"தொண்டை நாட்டை மறந்து விடாதே நீ!

தொண்டு புரியவேண்டும் உன் மக்களுக்கு.
மீண்டும் வருவாய் மோக்ஷம் அடைவதற்கு.

தொண்டை நாட்டை ஆட்சிசெய் அதுவரையில்!"
தொண்டைநாடு திரும்பினான் தொண்டைமான்.

#25c. Brahmotsavam


Brahman told ThoNdaimaan the details for performing the Brahmotsavam. He eagerly donated money and manpower to celebrate it in a grand scale. The news spread far and wide. Everyone was excited about attending the celebration.


The people gathered there. The Deva gathered there. Roads were laid and tents were made to accomodate the guests.


The scenes witnessed were rare and people offered money to the temple depending on their wealth. The celebration went off well. All the guests returned to their palces.


ThoNdaimaan did not want to go away from there. Srinivaasan told him,"You are the king of a county. It is your duty to serve them in the best possible manner. You will come here again when it is time to get moksha. Till then continue to rule your kingdom"


ThoNdai maan understood the importance of his duties and went back to ThoNdainaadu.

#26 a. பெரும் பழி

கூர்மன் விரும்பினான் கங்கையில் நீராட.
ஆர்வம் இருந்தால் மட்டும் போதுமா?

நிறைவேறவில்லை ஒருநாளும் கோரிக்கை;
நீத்து விட்டான் உலக வாழ்வையே ஒருநாள்.

கிருஷ்ணன் சர்மா கூர்மனின் மகன் ஆவான்;
விரும்பினான் தந்தையின் கனவை நனவாக்க.

'இறந்தார் தந்தை ஆசை நிறைவேறாமல்!
கரைக்க வேண்டும் அஸ்தியை கங்கையில்.'

குடும்பத்தோடு புறப்பட்டான் காசி நகருக்கு.
தடங்கல் மேல் தடங்கல்கள் வந்து சேர்ந்தன.

அடைந்திருந்தான் அப்போது தொண்டைநாட்டை.
அதிசயித்தான் தொண்டைமான் புகழைக் கேட்டு.

தோன்றியது ஒரு எண்ணம் அவன் மனத்தில்.
மூன்று மாதக் குழந்தையை, மனைவியை,

மன்னன் பாதுகாப்பில் விட்டுச் சென்றால்
முன்னேற முடியும் தனியாளாக, வேகமாக.

தொண்டைமானைச் சந்தித்தான் கிருஷ்ணசர்மா.
ஒண்ட ஓரிடம் தந்து பாதுகாக்க வேண்டினான்.

"காசி செல்ல ஆசைப்பட்டார் என் தந்தையார்.
ஆசை இருந்தால் போதுமா தாசில் பண்ண?

கைக் குழந்தையை, மனைவியைப் பாதுகாத்து
கை கொடுத்து உதவிட யாருமில்லை அரசே!

இளம் குழந்தையை, இளைய மனைவியைத்
தளிர் போலப் பாதுகாப்பீரா நான் வரும் வரை?"

தொண்டைமான் அளித்தான் சம்மதம் - உடனே
தொண்டைமானிடம் விடுத்தான் குடும்பத்தை.

மனப் பளு அகன்றவனாக விரைந்தான்
மகனின் கடமையைச் செய்யக் காசிநகர்.

#26a. Krishna Sharma


Koorman, a brahmin, dreamed of having a holy dip in Ganga river all his life but the dream remained just a dream. He left the world with his wish unfulfilled. Krishna sharma was his devoted son.

He wished to fulfill the dream of his father partly by immersing his ashes in Ganges. He left to Kasi with his young wife and three months old infant son. The way was difficult and his wife and child were unable to stand the long tiring journey.

He had reached ThoNdai naadu then he was wonder struck by the fame and good name earned by the good king Thondaimaan. He had a brainwave and thought,' What if I leave my wife and son under the care of the king? I can travel faster and return to them faster.'

He went to the king and explained the situation. He requested the king to take care of his family since he had no one else who he could trust with this responsibility.

King ThoNdaimaan agreed to this and the wife and son of Krishna sharma were left in the care of the king. Now alone and devoid of worries Krishna sharma continued the long journey at a a faster pace.

#26b. பட்டினிச் சாவு

தொண்டைமான் சுயமாக கவனித்தான்
தன்னிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப் பட்டவர்களை.

ஏற்பாடு செய்தான் தனி வீடு ஒன்றை;
ஏற்படுத்தினான் சகல வசதிகளையும்.

பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு குவித்தான் - பிறர்
நெருங்க வண்ணம் பூட்டினான் கதவுகளை.

அடிக்கடி விசாரித்தான் முதலில் சில நாட்கள்
அடியோடு மறந்துவிட்டான் அதன் பின்னர்.

அரசனே கவனித்து வந்ததால் வேறு எவரும்
அக்கறை எடுக்கவில்லை மறந்தே விட்டனர்

குந்தித் தின்றால் குன்றும் மாளும் அன்றோ?
முந்தி சேமித்த உணவுப் பொருட்கள் தீர்ந்தன!

பூட்டி இருந்ததால் செல்லமுடியவில்லை வெளியே!
மாட்டிக் கொண்டனர் பொறியில் இரு எலிகள் போல.

பட்டினி கிடந்தனர் தாயும் சேயும் பலநாட்கள்
விட்டனர் தம் உயிரை ஒருவர் பின் ஒருவராக.

காசியிலிருந்து திரும்பினான் கிருஷ்ண சர்மா
காசித் தீர்த்தம் அளித்தான் தொண்டைமானுக்கு.

"யாத்திரை இனிதே முடிந்தது உங்கள் தயவால்!
பத்திரமாக உள்ளனரா என் மனைவியும் மகனும்?"

திடுக்கிட்டான் தொண்டைமான் இது கேட்டு
நடுக்கம் எடுத்தது அவர்களை நினைத்ததும்!

"சிரம பரிஹாரம் செய்யுங்கள் அவர்களைச்
சிறிது நேரத்தில் வரவழைக்கிறேன் இங்கு."

மகனிடம் தந்தான் அந்த வீட்டுச் சாவியை.
ரகசியமாகப் பார்த்துவிட்டு வரச் சொன்னான்.

#26b. Starvation deaths

King ThoNdaimaan took personal interest in the family of Krishna Sharma. He arranged a house for them to live in. He made every convenience needed in it. He filled the house with grocery and other edible things. The house was kept locked from outside to protect the young woman and her son.

At first the king visited them regularly and gave them whatever they needed. Later on he forgot about them completely due to the pressure in work. All the others never took interest since the king was taking personal interest.

Soon the food stuff got exhausted. They were not replaced. The mother and son could not go out since the door was locked from outside. They were like two rats caught in a trap. They died one after another. Krishna Sharma returned after completing his trip to Kasi.

He gave the Ganaga theertham to the king and asked about the welfare of his family. The king was shocked since he had forgotten all about them long ago. He said, "Please rest for some time. I shall send for them"

He gave the keys of the house to his son and told him to go and find out about them secretly.

#26 c. சரணாகதி


ஆடிப் போய்விட்டான் தொண்டைமான் மகன்
ஆவி பிரிந்த உடல்களை அங்கு கண்டவுடன்.

ஓடினான் தந்தையிடம் மிகுந்த துயருடன்,
"தேடி வந்தது நம்மை பிரம்மஹத்தி தோஷம்.

இறந்து விட்டனர் இருவரும் பட்டினியால்
மறந்தே போய் விட்டோம் நாம் அவர்களை.

களங்கம் ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டதே நல்ல பெயருக்கு!
விளங்குமா இதைச் சொன்னால் யாருக்காவது?"

மீண்டும் வந்தான் கிருஷ்ண சர்மா - "நான் காண .
வேண்டும் என் மனைவியை, மகனை1"என்றான்.

"ஆலயம் சென்றுள்ளனர் இந்த அந்தப்புர மகளிர்.
அவர்களுடன் சென்றுள்ளனர் இவர்கள் இருவரும்!

இரண்டு நாட்களில் திரும்ப வந்துவிடுவார்கள்.
இருங்கள் நீங்கள் அரண்மனையில் அதுவரை."

கிருஷ்ண சர்மா நிம்மதியாகச் சென்றுவிட்டான்;
கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவுக்கு உண்மை தெரிந்துவிட்டால்?

'ஸ்ரீனிவாசனே என்னைக் காக்க முடியும் இப்போது!'
ஸ்ரீனிவாசனை விரைந்து சென்று சரணடைந்தான்.

பாதங்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு கண்ணீர் விட்டான்.
" பாதி இரவில் வந்து கண்ணீர் விடுவது ஏன்?" என

"வாக்குத் தந்தால் விடுவேன் பாதங்களை அன்றிச்
சாக்குச் சொன்னால் விடுவேன் என் உயிரையே!"

"உனக்கு வந்த இடர் என்னுடையது அல்லவா?
என்னிடம் கூறுவாய் நடந்தது என்னவென்று!"

ஆதியோடு அந்தமாக உரைத்தான் அனைத்தையும்;
"பாதிப்பு அடைந்தவனுக்கு என்ன பதில் சொல்வேன்?"

#26c. SaraNaagati

ThoNdaimaan's son got the shock of his life when he saw the dead bodies inside the house. He went running to the king shedding tears of remorse. "We have incurred Brahma haththi dosham by causing the death of the young woman an her infant son. We forgot all about them"

ThoNdaimaan felt sad that he was guilty and unworthy of the trust placed in him by Krishna Sharma. He was at his wit's end not knowing what to tell that young man.

Krishna Sharma came to the king again and told him, "I am all eager to meet my family. Please send for them." The king managed to tell him a white lie.

"The women of this palace have gone to visit a temple. Your family has gone with them. They will return in two days' time. Please stay here and wait for their return!"

Krishna Sharma went back peacefully but the king got agitated fearing his reaction when he came to know the truth. He said to himself. 'Only Srinivaasan can save me for this dilemma!'

He rushed to the Aanandha Nilayam and caught hold of lord's feet and washed them with his tears. Srinivaasan asked him, "What brings you here in the middle of the night. Why this shedding of copious tears. What has happened?'

"Only if you promise to save me I will let go of your feet and tell you what happened or else I shall sacrifice my life."

Srinivaasan assured the king, "Your problems are my problems. Please tell me what has happened!"

ThoNdaimaan told him everything that had happened after he met Krishna Sharma. He asked "What is the reply I am going to give that trusting young man? Please tell me "

#26 d. விஸ்வரூபம்

" இந்த முறை உதவுகிறேன் தொண்டைமான்
இன்னொரு முறை நடக்கக் கூடாது இது போல!

உடல்களைக் கொண்டு வா என் சன்னதிக்கு!" என
உடல்களைக் கொண்டு கிடத்தினான் சன்னதியில்.

"உயிர்ப்பித்துத் தருவாய் மீண்டும் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா!
உயிர்ப் பிச்சை தருவாய் குற்றவாளி எனக்கும்!"

பாத்திரத்தில் இருந்து பகவான் எடுத்துத் தெளித்த
தீர்த்தத்தினால் உயிர் பெற்றனர் தாயும், சேயும்.

எழுந்தனர் தூக்கத்தில் இருந்து எழுவது போல;
விழுந்தனர் வியப்புக் கடலில் அதைக் கண்டவர்.

"பட்டினியால் மெலிந்து நலிந்த மகன் இப்போது
பட்டொளி வீசி ஜொலிப்பது எப்படி?" என்றாள்.

"சரணடைந்தேன் ஸ்ரீனிவாசநிடம் நான் - அவன்
அரவணைத்து உயிர்ப்பித்தான் தன் கருணையால்!"

அவளும் தொழுதாள் பகவான் பாதங்களை;
"அருளுங்கள் என்றும் குறையாத பக்தியை!"

"நித்தியவாசம் செய்வேன் நாடி வருபவருக்கு!
சத்தியமாக உதவுவேன் தேடி வருபவர்களுக்கு!"

பகவான் மார்பில் தோன்றி மறைந்தன
லோகங்கள் பதினான்கும், கடல்கள் ஏழும்!

அழைத்து வந்தனர் கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவை அங்கு,
அடைந்தான் ஆச்சரியம் அவர்களைக் கண்டு.

'இத்தனை வனப்புள்ளவளா என் மனைவி?
இத்தனை தேஜஸ் உடையவனா என் மகன்?'

"மறுபிறவி எடுத்து வந்துள்ள்ளோம் நாங்கள்!
மறவோம் என்றும் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் கருணையை!"

விளங்கவில்லை ஒன்றும் கிருஷ்ண சர்மாவுக்கு;
விளக்கினான் அனைத்தையும் தொண்டைமான்.

ஊர் திரும்பும் அந்தணனுக்கு அளித்தான் அவன்
சீர் போலப் பொன்னும், மணியும், பல பரிசுகளும்.

#26 d. SaraNaagati

“I will help you this time. But make sure such a thing will never be repeated in the future. Bring those two bodies here to my sannadi” Sreenivaasan told ThoNdaimaan.

The bodies were brought to the temple and laid before Sreenivaasan. ThoNdaimaan begged him, “Please resurrect them O Lord. Please grant me life by bringing them back to life!”

Srinivaasan sprinkled some water on the mother and her son. They woke up as if from deep sleep. The mother wondered on seeing her infant son,”He was so hungry and famished before. He seems to be hale and healthy now!”

ThoNdaimaan told her, “Srinivaasan took pity on you and resurrected you and your son” The lady prayed to God for undiminished bhakti . Srinivaasan promised her,”I shall live here for the sake of my devotees. I shall always protect and save them”

The fourteen worlds and the seven seas appeared on the chest of Srinivaasan. Then they disappeared from their sight. Krishna sharma was brought there.

He was wonder struck at the beauty of his wife and the tejas of his son. His wife told him, “We have taken a new birth now. We have been blessed by lord Srinivaasan.”

Her husband could not make head or tail of this news. ThoNdaimaan explained to him everything that had happened, He showered gold, gemstones and many costly gifts on Krishna sharma when he went home with his wife and son.

#27a. மண் பூக்கள்


முதிர்ந்து விட்டது வயது தொண்டைமானுக்கு;
முன்போல் சுமக்க முடியவில்லை ராஜ்யபாரம்.

நாடியது மனம் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுடன் இருப்பதையே;
தேடின கண்கள் ஸ்ரீனிவாசனின் திருவுருவத்தை!

முடி சூட்டினான் மகனுக்கு அடுத்த மன்னனாக;
விடை பெற்றான் அன்பு மனைவியிடமிருந்து.

ஆனந்த நிலையத்தில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடன்
ஆராதனை, பூஜைகள் செய்தான் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு.

மாறுபாடு தெரிந்தது ஸ்ரீனிவாசனிடம் - அவன்
வேறுபட்டு நின்றான் கற்சிலையாக இப்போது.

அளவளாவுவான் முன்பு அழைத்த போதெல்லாம்;
அழைத்த போதிலும் வருவதே இல்லை இப்போது.

"பிழை என்ன செய்துவிட்டேன் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா? கூறும்
அழைத்தாலும் நீங்கள் வாராததின் காரணம் எனக்கு!

பக்தியில் குறை ஏறபட்டு விட்டதா கூறுவீர்!
பழிகளில் இருந்து காத்தீரே முன்பெல்லாம்!"

கல்லாகவே நின்றான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் அப்போதும்;
சொல்லொன்றும் கூறவே இல்லை இப்போதும்.

அர்ச்சனை செய்தான் அன்றலர்ந்த மலர்களால்;
அடையவில்லை அவை இறைவன் பாதங்களை!

மண்ணால் செய்யப்பட மணமற்ற மலர்களே
அண்ணலின் இரு பாதங்களை அலங்கரித்தன!

"மணம் வீசும் புது மலர்களை நிராகரித்து விட்டு
மணமில்லாத மண்மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்பது ஏன் "

பாதங்களைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு படுத்து விட்டான்!
"பாராமுகம் ஏன்?" என அழுதான், எழவே இல்லை.

மனம் இளகிவிட்டது ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு - வாய் திறந்து
"இனிப் போதும் நீ அழுதது எழுந்திரு!" என்றான்.

#27 a. Flowers of Clay

ThoNdaimaan had become very old. He was unable to bear the burden of his kingdom. He wished to spend all his remaining time in the company of Srinivaasan.

He crowned his son as the new king and took leave of his dear queen. He went to Aananda Nilayam and spent his time there in pooja and aaraadhana of his favorite god.

Soon he noticed many changes in the behavior of Srinivaasan. Previously he would appear and converse with ThoNdaimaan whenever he was called. Now a days he remained silent as a statue and did not respond to ThoNdaimaan.

ThoNdaimaan could not understand the cause for this change. "Is there anything wrong with my bhakti or poojaa or aaraadhanaa?"

The fresh fragrant flowers he used for the archanai did not reach the lord's feet. Flowers made of clay were found upon his lotus feet . What were they and whence they came from were beyond his knowledge.

He caught hold of Srinivaasan's feet and started shedding tears. "What is the crime I have committed? Why have you become so indifferent to me?" He kept on crying until Srinivaasan's heart melted with sympathy.

He broke his silence and talked to ThoNdaimaan, "Enough of crying now. Please get up and tell me what is the matter!"

#27b. பீமாவரம் பீமன்

"மௌனம் கழிய இத்தனை நேரமா உமக்கு?"என,
"சௌகரியமாக நீ வாழலாம் உன் அரண்மனையில்!

வருத்திக் கொள்கிறாய் அனாவசியமாக உன்னையும்;
வருத்துகின்றாய் அனாவசியமாக என்னையும்!" என்றான்

"வெறுப்பு ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது உலக வாழ்வில் எனக்கு;
நறுமண மலர்களால் நான் அர்ச்சிக்கின்றேன் ஆனால்

மணம் வீசும் என் மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்பதில்லை;
மணமற்ற மண் மலர்களை நீங்கள் ஏற்கின்றீர்கள்!

குறை ஏற்பட்டு விட்டதா என்னுடைய பக்தியில் ?
குறை ஏற்பட்டதா என்னுடைய ஆராதனையில் ?

ஆனந்த நிலையத்தை அமைத்திட உழைத்தேன்;
அடுத்த சேவையை சிந்தித்துக் கொண்டுள்ளேன்!

பக்தி நிலவுகிறது என் மூச்சுக் காற்றில் கலந்து;
பக்தியை வெளிப்படுத்த முடியுமா இதை விட?"

கலகலவென நகைத்தான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் இப்போது;
"கலப்படம் இல்லாதது உன் பக்தி என்று அறிவேன்!

இருக்கின்றது உன்னுடைய மனதில் ஓர் இறுமாப்பு;
இவை அனைத்தும் செய்தவன் நானே என்ற கருத்து.

ஆணவம் அகன்றால் மட்டுமே ஐக்கியம் சித்திக்கும்.
காண விரும்பினால் உடனே செல்வாய் பீமாவரம்!

மயங்காமல் கண்டால் மனதுக்குத் தெரியும்
குயவனும், மனைவியும் கொண்டுள்ள பக்தி!"

தொண்டைமான் சென்றான் பீமாவரத்துக்கு;
கண்டு கொண்டான் குயவன் பீமன் வீட்டை.

ஏழ்மை நிலையைக் கண்டு அதிர்ந்து போனான்.
'தாழ்மையையே விரும்புகின்றான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன்.

எளிமையையே விரும்புகின்றான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன்
வலிமையைக் காட்டுபவர்களை அல்லவே அல்ல.'

#27b. Beemaavaram Beeman

"It took you so long to break your silence!" ThoNdaiman was both happy and sad at the same time.
Srinivasan told him," You can spend the rest of your life in the comforts of your palace. I do not know why you want to live here and suffer and also keep bothering me all the time!"

ThoNdaimaan told him, "I have lost all interest in life. I do archanai with fresh fragrant flowers and yet you prefer those clay flowers to my fresh flowers. What is lacking in my devotion? What is wrong with my pooja and aaraadhanaa? I have built Aanandha Nilayam overcoming so many problems. Even now I am thinking on what next to do for you. Bhakti bhaavam has merged with the air I breathe. How else can I show my devotion to you?"

Sinivaasan had a hearty laugh. "I know that your bhakti is pure and unadulterated. You still have akankaaram. You still think that all these were done by you. Only when your karthruthvam vanishes from your mind, your merging with me will become possible."

Go to Beemaavaram and visit the hut of the pot maker Beeman and his wife. You will understand what is pure and unadulterated bhakti."

ThoNdaiman left for Beemaavaram and located the hut of Beeman. He felt appalled at the sight of dire poverty prevailing there. he realized that God prefers simplicity. God prefers humility. God does not care for pomp and show.

#27c. வைகுந்தம்

இருக்கும் இடத்திலேயே இருந்தனர்;
இருந்த வேலைகளைச் செய்தனர்.

இருந்தது மனம் இறை திருவடிகளில்;
இருந்து பக்தி மட்டும், இல்லை கர்வம்!

கோவில் கட்டவில்லை - வசதி இல்லை
உற்சவம் நடத்தவில்லை - வசதி இல்லை

மனத்தால் பூஜிக்கின்றனர் இடைவிடாது!
பணத்தால் பூஜித்ததை இடைவிடாமல்

நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது மடத்தனம்.
அனைத்தையும் செய்பவன் இறைவனே!

சர்வமும் செய்து கொள்பவன் அவனே!
சர்வமும் செய்விப்பவனும் இறைவனே!

கர்த்ருத்வம் தந்திருந்தது கர்வத்தை.
கர்வம் அகன்றது; கண்கள் திறந்தன!

மாயை விலகியது, அறிவு துலங்கியது
தூய பக்தரை விழுந்து வணங்கினான்.

"மண்மலர்களைக் கண்டேன் ஆலயத்தில்
மணமலர்களை விடப் பாதங்கள் அருகில்."

"விருப்பம் உண்டு பகவானைத் தரிசிக்க;
வசதிகள் இல்லை பகவானைத் தரிசிக்க.

தரிசிப்போம் பகவானை மனத்திலேயே;
அர்ச்சிப்போம் மண் மலர்களைக் கொண்டு.

மணமலர்களால் அர்ச்சிக்க ஆசை உண்டு
மண்மலர்களே சாத்தியம் எமக்கு" என்றனர்.

ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் தோன்றினார் அப்போது!
"ஸ்ரீனிவாசா வந்தாயா தரிசனம் தர?

ஏழையின் குடிசைக்கு வருவீர் தேவா !
எங்கள் உணவை உண்பீர் ஸ்ரீனிவாசா!"

#27c. Vaikuntham


ThoNdaimaan saw that the pot maker Beeman and his wife had lived there all their lives. They had spent their entire lives in pot making to earn pittance. But their minds were fixed in lord's feet. They were devoted without feeling proud of their devotion.

They never built any temple. They could not have - even if they had wished to. They never performed any festival. They could not have - even if they had wished to do. Yet they were worshiping lord with their thoughts and mind day in and day out.

Suddenly it dawned on him that everything is done by God Himself . He gets done whatever he wants, whichever way wants them to be. He does them all by Himself - using the others as mere instruments in His hands.

The thought that "I had built Anandha Nilayam" had corrupted his bhakti by introducing the karthruthva bhaavam in his actions. His ego and pride vanished now. His ahankaaram and mamakaaram disappeared. He fell at the feet of these ignorant, innocent, poor pot makers.

"I saw these clay flowers at the feet of the lord. I did not know that they were made by you here."

Beeman replied, "We wish to offer fresh flowers but we cannot afford them. We want to have a dharshan of the lord but we have no money to travel."

Srinivaasan appeared there in front of them now. The humble devotees jumped with joy."Oh my lord did you take pity on us and come here to us to give your dharshan? Please come inside our hut and share our humble food "

#27d. விமானம்


பீமன் மனைவி கழுவினாள் அன்புடன்
பகவான் திருப் பாதங்களை நீரினால்.

பரப்பி இருந்தது குடிசையில் மண்.
பரப்பினர் அதன் மேல் ஒரு பாயை.

அமர்ந்தான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் அதன் மேல்,
அழகிய மணை மேல் அமர்வது போல்.

இரவு உணவு வெறும் கூழும், உப்பும்.
இருப்பதை மிக விரும்பிக் குடித்தான்.

'எளியவருக்குஎளியவன் இறைவன்!'
என்பது எத்தனை பெரிய உண்மை!

விமானம் இறங்கியது விண்ணிலிருந்து
விண்ணில் பறந்தான் கருடன் உடனே.

பத்மாவதி வந்தாள் கருடன் மீதேறி.
பகவானுடன் இணையாக நின்றாள்.

ஆசி பெற்ற பீமனும், மனைவியும்
அதிசய விமானம் ஏறிச் சென்றனர்!

"நான், எனது என்பதை ஒழித்தேன்!
நாயேனுக்கும் அருள்வீர் பரமபதம்!"

இறங்கியது ஒரு தங்கவிமானம் தரையில்;
பறந்தது தொண்டைமானுடன் விரைவில்.

#27 d. The Vimaanam


Beeman's wife washed the feet of the lord with fresh water. They had heaped some mud inside their hut. A mat was spread on the leveled heap. Srinivaasan sat on the mat as if it were a sacred peetam.

The simple food consisted of a porridge and salt. The entire food was offered to god. He relished the food and ate the whole thing. To god whatever we offer with love, becomes nectar.

A vimaanam descended form the sky. Garudan took off to bring Padmaavati Devi.

Srinivaasan and Padmaavati gave them the dharshan Beeman and his wife had prayed for all their lives. They took their blessings, got into the vimaanam and flew away.

ThoNdaimaan told Srinivaasan, "I have realized how I had become corrupted in bhakti by my anakaaram and mamakaaram. Now I am rid of those completely. Please give me parama padam!"

Srinivaasan knew that ThoNdaimaan spoke the truth and blessed him as he had wished for. A gold vimaanam came down.

ThoNdaimaan got into it and it flew high into the sky taking him to Vaikuntham.

#28a. வட்டி கட்ட வழி?

ஆனந்தமாக இருந்தான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன்,
ஆனந்த நிலயத்தில் பத்மாவதியுடன்.

பக்தர்கள் தேடி வந்தனர் பகவானை;
சக்திக்கு ஏற்ப காணிக்கை அளித்தனர்.

மகிழ்வுடன் பகவான் இருந்த போதிலும்,
நெகிழ்வுடன் நினைப்பதுண்டு லக்ஷ்மியை!

'உற்சாகம் குன்றி பகவான் இருப்பதற்கு
உபசரணையில் உள்ள குறைபாடுகளோ?'

பத்மாவதி ஆலோசிப்பதுண்டு அடிக்கடி;
பகவானிடம் கேட்டுவிட்டாள் நேரடியாக.

"சுகமாக இருப்பதை விட்டு அடிக்கடி நீங்கள்
சோகமாகி விடுவதின் காரணம் கூறுங்கள்!"

"லக்ஷ்மி என்னைப் பிரிந்ததனால் வாழ்க்கை
லக்ஷ்யம் இழந்ததைப் போல ஆகிவிட்டது.

திருமணச் செலவுக்கு வாங்கினேன் கடன்;
திருப்பித் தர வேண்டும் கலியுக முடிவில்.

வட்டி கட்ட வேண்டும் வருடா வருடம்
கட்ட வில்லை வட்டி ஒரு வருடம் கூட.

லக்ஷ்மி மீண்டும் என்னிடம் வந்தால் தான்
லக்ஷணமாகும் நம் வாழ்க்கை!" என்றான்.

"லக்ஷ்மி வருவதில் தடை என்ன சுவாமி?"
"லக்ஷ்மி உனக்குப் போட்டி அல்லவா?"என,

"இந்த வாழ்க்கையே லக்ஷ்மி தந்தது!
அந்த லக்ஷ்மியை நான் வெறுப்பேனா?

அழைத்து வருவோம் நாம் சென்று!" என்றாள்.
"அழைத்து வருவேன் நான் சென்று!" என்றான்.

வகுள மாலிகை துணையானாள் அவளுக்கு.
பகவான் மட்டும் சென்றார் கரவீரபுரத்துக்கு.

#28 a. Payment of the Interest

Srinivaasan lived happily in Aanandha Nilayam with Padmaavati. His devotees visited him and offered money in the Hundi - according to their richness. He would often think of Lakshmi Devi with a soft tender feeling. How different his life would have been if only Lakshmi did not leave him at all!

Padmaavati noticed his change and wondered if she was not doing her best to keep him happy. One day she took courage and asked him directly, "why is it that you often seem to be in a pensive mood?"

Srinivaasan told her the truth, "After Lakshmi deserted me, my life seems to be devoid of any purpose or beauty. I have borrowed heavily for our wedding expenses. The principal of the loan can be returned at the end of Kali yuga but I had promised to pay the annual interest. Till today I have not paid back any interest."
Why can't we bring back Lakshmi here?" Padmaavati asked. Srinivaasan replied, "She will be a competitor for you in sharing my love and affection"
Padmaavati replied, "The life I live now is a gift bestowed by Lakshmi Devi. I can never feel jealous of her. I will go and request her to come back to you"
Srinivaasan told her, "I myself will go and request her to come back to me!" He made Vagula Maalikai keep company with Padmaavati in his absence and went to Karaveerapuram to bring back Lakshmi Devi.

#28 b. பத்ம ஸரோவர்

பகவான் கரவீரபுரம் வருகின்றான் என்றதும்,
பாதாள லோகம் சென்று விட்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி!

கபில முனிவரைக் கண்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி
கபில முனிவர் வரவேற்றார் அங்கே தங்கிவிட!

எந்த இடமானால் என்ன பகவானைத் தியானிக்க?
அந்த இடத்திலே தங்கிவிட்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி தேவி.

கரவீரபுரம் அடைந்த ஸ்ரீனிவாசன் கண்டது எது?
வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடந்த தேவியின் இருப்பிடத்தை.

கடுமையான தவம் மேற்கொண்டு விட்டாளா?
காடுகளில் தேடி அலைந்தான் லக்ஷ்மி தேவியை.

திருவுவத்தின் அருகே அமர்ந்தான் ஸ்ரீனிவாசன்;
தியானம் செய்தான் தன் லக்ஷ்மி தேவியின் மீது.

பத்து ஆண்டுகள் உருண்டு ஓடிவிட்டன - ஆனால்
பார்க்க முடியவில்லை பகவானால் லக்ஷ்மியை

அசரீரி ஒன்று பேசியது ஆகாயத்தில் இருந்து,
"வசப்படமாட்டாள் லக்ஷ்மி உன் தியானத்துக்கு!

ஆயிரம் இதழ்கள் கொண்ட தாமரை மலரினை
அமைப்பாய் பத்ம ஸரோவர் என்ற பொய்கையில்.

கிழக்கில் இருந்து சூரியன் ஒளி வீசும் பொழுது,
அழகிய தாமரையில் உன் தேவி தோன்றுவாள்!"

அடைந்தான் சுவர்ணமுகி தீரத்தைஸ்ரீனிவாசன்.
அனுப்பினான் வாயு தேவனை இந்திர லோகம்.

பறித்து வந்தான் இந்திரனின் அனுமதியோடு
அரிய தாமரை மலர் ஒன்றை வாயுதேவன்.

ஆயிரம் இதழ்த் தாமரையை ஸ்தாபித்தான்;
ஆயிரம் இதழ்த் தாமரை மீது தியானித்தான்.

#28b. Padma Sarovar

The moment Lakshmi Devi knew that Srinivaasan was coming to meet her and take her back with him, she went to the Paataala lokam. She met sage Kaplia there and decided to stay on there itself. All she wanted to do was to meditate of her lord and any place was good enough for that purpose.

Srinivaasan reached Karaveera puram only to find that Lakshmi had gone away from there already. "Had she go into the forest to take up a more severe penance?" He searched for her everywhere but in vain. He sat near her image and started meditating on her.

Ten years rolled by but Lakshmi did Not appear before him. He then heard an aakaash vaaNi which said, "This kind of meditation will not bring her back to you. Plant a divine lotus flower with one thousand petals in Padma sarovar and meditate on it. When the Sun shines from the east, Lakshmi will appear on that lotus flower."
Srinivaasan reached the banks of SwarNamukhi. He sent Vaayu Devan to bring a lotus flower with one thousand petals from Indra lokam with Indra's permission.

Vaayu brought the divine lotus. Srinivaasan planted it in Padma Sarovar and started meditating on it.

#29 a. அப்சரஸ்

நாட்கள் உருண்டு ஓடின - பகவானின் தவம்
நாளுக்கு நாள் தீவிரம் அடைந்தது மேலும்!

பத்ம தீர்த்தத்தின் கரையில் ஒருவன் அமர்ந்து
உக்ரத் தவம் செய்வது ஒரு செய்தியானது!

பூலோகத்தில் தவம் நடந்தால் ஆபத்து நிகழும்
தேவலோகத்தை ஆளும் இந்திரனின் பதவிக்கு.

தவத்தைக் குலைத்துக் கலைப்பதற்கு இந்திரன்
தேவ மகளிரை அனுப்பினான் பூலோகத்திற்கு.

பூலோகப் பெண்களைப் போல மாறிவிட்டனர்.
பூஜைக்கு உதவி செய்திட விரும்பி வந்தனர்.

தடை சொல்லவில்லை பகவான் அவர்களிடம்,
நடை பெறவில்லை அவர்கள் விரும்பியதும்!

நெருங்க வில்லை பகவான் அந்த சுந்தரிகளை!
நெருங்கவும் விடவில்லை அந்த சுந்தரிகளை!

அடுத்த திட்டத்தினை அமல்படுத்தினர்அப்சரஸ்.
அடுத்து அடுத்துப் பாடினர் இனிய பாடல்களை!

அர்ப்பணித்தான் அந்தப் பாடல்களை லக்ஷ்மிக்கு;
கற்பனை பலிக்கவில்லை பெண்கள் எண்ணியபடி.

மாலைகளை அணிவிக்க வந்தனர் பகவானுக்கு;
மாலைகளை அணிவித்தான் அவன் தாமரைக்கு!

"நாட்டியம் செய்யலாமே நீங்கள்!" என்று சொல்லப்
போட்டி போட்டுக் கொண்டு இனிய நடனம் ஆடினர்.

மேனி எழிலை வெளிப்படுத்தினர் ஆடும் போது;
பேணினான் பிரம்மச்சரியத்தை பகவான் நன்கு!

கற்பனையில் உருவான அழகிய பெண்ணை
கண்முன் கொண்டு வந்து நிறுத்தினான் பகவான்

'படைக்கும் சக்தி படைத்த இவன் மனிதன் அல்ல!'
மடை திறந்தது போல எல்லாம் நினவு வந்தது!

இந்திரன் தந்தான் வாயுவிடம் தாமரை மலரை;
இந்தத் தாமரை மலரே அவன் தந்த மலர் என்று!

விழுந்து வணங்கினர் பகவான் பாதங்களில்;
அழுதும், தொழுதும், கேட்டனர் மன்னிப்பு.

"செய்ய வந்தீர்கள் உங்களுக்கு இட்ட ஆணையை;
எய்தவன் இருக்க அம்பை நான் நோக மாட்டேன்!"

தப்பித்தோம், பிழைத்தோம் என்று ஓடினர்;
அப்போதே சென்றனர் இந்திரனின் சபைக்கு.

#29a. Apsaras


Days rolled by and the penance of Srinivaasan became more and more intense. The news that a handsome man was doing intense tapas near Padma Sarovar reached far and wide.

Any intense tapas done on earth caused fear and concern in Indra's mind - since that person might replace him and become the new Indra. He sent celestial maiden to disturb and disrupt the penance of that young man.

The celestial maidens transformed themselves to resemble the maidens of the earth. They offered to help Srinivaasan in performing his pooja and penance. Srinivaasan did not object to their offering their help. At the same time he made sure that their aim did not succeed.


He never went close to any of those maidens nor entertained their coming very close to him. So the next part of their scheme unfolded. Now they sang sweet song to attract Srinivaasan. He offered all those songs to the divine lotus and to Lakshmi Devi.

They made lovely garlands and wanted to put them round Srinivaasan's neck but he intercepted and offered the garlands to the divine lotus flower to please Lakshmi Devi.

Now Srinivaasan himself suggested , "You may dance if you wish to!" Those maidens were expert dancers. They danced their best and also managed to reveal their beauty through their movements. But Srinivaasan was not infatuated with them since he offered their dances to please Lakshmi Devi.

Now Srinivaasan performed a miracle. He imagined a beautiful maiden and bought her to life. The celestial maidens were shocked to find that this young man was capable of creating a living person just by his sankalpam.


They realized that he was not any ordinary man but God himself. Then they remembered that Indra had given the divine lotus with one thousand petals to Vaayu - to be given to someone on the earth.

They fell at his feet and begged pardon for their wrong thoughts and actions. But Srinivaasan told them, "You have carried out the orders given to you by your king Indra. Surely I will not hold you responsible for his actions."

They were extremely happy and felt relieved that they were not cursed for their actions. They returned to Indra lokam and went straight to Indra Sabha.
