3 # 8. The prosperity of the city.
Veerabaahu who was now the size of an atom witnessed the prosperity of the city Veera mahendram. The chaturanga sena protected it well.
The city was filled with objects of sensual enjoyment. It would put to shame even the swarga of the Deva.
The palatial houses were decorated with precious gems. The asura were enjoying the company of their womenfolks. Kamadhenu, Chintaamani and Padumanidhi gave whatever anyone wished for.
The various sounds merged and produced a humming sound like the waves of an ocean. The richness and the beauty of the city was mesmerizing Veerabaahu.
The old, the infirm and the sick people did not exist in the city. The ponds there were filled with milk, sugar cane juice, curds, ghee and madhu for the enjoyment of everyone there.
The streets were littered with the gold ornaments thrown carelessly. Veerabaahu remembered his mission and entered the city.
He was wonder-struck by the beauty of the palaces occupied by the ministers of Soorapadman.
From the top of the palace of Dharmagopan, he could see the prison in which the Devas were locked up.
