pApasAmyam is a measure to find out, the approximate probability of the girl becoming a widow if married to a particular boy. Astrologers both in TN and Kerala used to attach much importance to this when brahmin widows had to become pATTis with clean shaved and lead a recluse type of life within the four walls of a house.
The world has changed a great lot now and brahmin girls are mostly very highly educated and hold high-salaried jobs, today. Hence, pApasAmyam has relevance only in the case of girls with low educational qualifications and have no steady job. This is my personal view.
Yes Mr.Krish papasamyam is not being looked into in TN when fixing marriages.Nobody cares for this.

May not very correct to say that. I understand that it depends on the astrologer. The few astrologers I know do look into papasamyam and they are all TBs.

This is not true as seen in the field.
Tamilmatrimony, the popular matrimony site has its software programmed to take p.samyam into account and even gives the p.s. marks scored by individual horoscopes.
And it is TAMIL matrimony and not Telugu matrimony or Oriya matrimony. Because people look for that info. it is given there.
However , Those who use tamil matrimony do not use their horoscopes generated or compared. The believers ask for originally cast horoscopes at birth which they take
to conventional astrologers for comparison .
The conventional asrologers do not care for this comparison . They do look for doshas and pariharam [which sustains their living] besides ten poruthams.

I speak from experience. The four or five astrologers who I used to consult were all very particular about p.s. They are all TBs.
