5#33a. The Leelaas of Shakti Devi (1)

Suratha and Samaadhi went and prostrated to sage Sumedas. Suratha introduced the new comer to the sage,” This man is a merchant named Samaadhi. He has been driven away from home by his own wife and children. He is immersed in deep sorrow even after coming here.

As for me, I am not still able to get over the loss of my kingdom and the separation from my family. I am unable to sleep care free.

I know that the human life is like a dream and that knowledge does not make any difference. Both our minds are agitated and sorrowful. Please show us a way to control and calm our troubled minds”

The sage was moved to pity on seeing the suffering of these two good men. He spoke to them in a soothing voice now.

” The only thing that causes both Bandham (bondage) and Moksham (liberation) is Maayaa. The Gods, the Devas, the human beings and the asuraas are all under the influence of this all powerful Maayaa.

It is very difficult to break the shackles of Maayaa. It can delude and infatuate even the rushis, sages and sanyasins.

Lord Naaraayan himself had gone once to a lonely island, to do severe penence, in order to overcome the cycles of sukam and dukkam (waves of joys and sorrows) and obtain eternal Brahmaanadam for ever.”

12e. அரிமுகன் போர்.

அழியும் பூதர்களைக் கண்டு சினந்தார்
அழற்கண்ணன் என்னும் பூதத் தலைவர்.

சூலப்படையை எறிந்தார் அரிமுகன் மேல்!
ஏலாமல் அழிந்தது ஒருசிறு முள்போல்.

அரிமுகன் எறிந்த தடியால் அடிபட்டு
பெருகியது உதிரம் மார்பு பிளந்து.

பெரிய மலையைப் பிடிங்கிய சுமாலி
எறிந்தார் மலையை அரிமுகன் மீது .

பந்துபோல அவன் அதைப் பற்றி வீச,
வந்து தாக்கியது சுமாலியின் மார்பை.

தடியுடன் பாய்ந்தார் தண்டி அவன்மீது.
தடி முறிந்தது அரிமுகனை அடித்ததும்!

வெறியுடன் குதித்தார் பூதர் தண்டி
அரிமுகனின் ஈராயிரம் தோள்கள் மீது.

வெறும் ஈயாகவே அவரை மதித்து
உருட்டித் துடைத்து எறிந்தான் அரிமுகன்.

நூறாயிரத்து எண்மர் முன் சென்றனர்.
கூரிய கணைகளைப் பொழிந்தனர்.

பூதாகாரமான அரிமுகன் உடல்மேல்
பூமழையானது அந்தக் கணைமழை!

அடித்தும், ஒடித்தும், எடுத்தும், எறிந்தும்,
பொடித்தும் அழித்தான், அரிமுக அவுணன் .

அஞ்சி நடுங்கிய நூறாயிரத்து எண்மரும்
அக்கணமே புறமுதுகு இட்டு ஓடலாயினர்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
KANDA PURAANAM - PORPURI KAANDAM

 4 # 12. e. Singamukhan.

Azharkkannar threw his soolam on Singamukhan. It fell down without harming him like a small thorn. He started bleeding heavily when Singamukhan threw a dandam on his chest.

Sumali threw an uprooted mountain of Sinagmukhan. He caught hold of it and threw it back like a ball hitting Sumali on his chest.

Dandi pounced on Singamukhan with his dandam. The dandam broke into pieces. Dandi jumped on the two thousand shoulders of Singamukan in rage.

He was considered to be just an insect and Singamukahn crushed him with his fingers. The one hundred thousand and eight warriors showered arrows on Singamukhan.

The rain of arrows fell on his huge body like a shower of flowers. He crushed every one by hitting, punching, boxing, breaking, throwing, kicking and stamping.

The one hundred thousand and eight warriors took to their heels from the battlefield!

2c. ஸ்துதி

வராஹ பெருமான் பூமியில் தங்கிவிட்டதால்
வந்து பூமியில் துதித்தனர் வானவர், முனிவர்,

இந்திரன், பிரமன், துவாதச ஆதித்யர்கள்,
ருத்திரர், தேவர், வசுக்கள், திக்பாலகர்கள்,

கந்தருவர், சப்த ரிஷிகள், மருத் கணங்கள்!
வந்தவர் விண்ணப்பித்தனர் பெருமானிடம்,

“தரணியைப் பாதாளத்தில் ஒளித்து வைத்த
ஹிரண்யாக்ஷனை சம்ஹரித்தீர்கள் போரில்.

ப்ரபாவமும், தோற்றமும் மாறவேயில்லை!
பக்தருக்கு அருள வேண்டும் இன்முகத்துடன்.’

மாற்றிக் கொண்டார் பெருமான் சிரித்தபடியே,
தோற்றத்தையும், தன் முக விலாசத்தையும்!

அழகிய வலிய புஜங்கள் ஒரு நான்குடனும்;
அழகிய இருதேவியர் தன் இருமருங்கிலும்,.

கருணை பொழியும் கமலக் கண்களுடனும்;
கருத்தைக் கவரும் ஒளிரும் வடிவத்துடனும்;

கிரீடாச்சலத்தில் விளங்கும் வராஹ பெருமான்
நிறைவேற்றுகிறார் பக்தரின் கோரிக்கைகளை.

வெள்ளைப் பன்றி வடிவெடுத்ததால் – ஸ்வேத
வராஹ கல்பம் என்ற பெயர் வழங்கலாயிற்று.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

2c. Sthuti

Since Varaahamoorthi stayed back on the earth the Deva, rushis, Indra, Brahma, Dwaadasa Aadithya, Ekaadasa Rudra, ashta Vasu, ashta Dikpaalakaa, Gandharva, Sapta rushi and the 49 Marut gaNa came down to the earth to worship him.

They all had only one prayer,”When you saved the earth from HiraNyaakshan you had a long and terrifying fight with him. You still retain the same fierce expression in your face. We pray that you must bless us and all the other devotees with a pleasant smiling face”

Varaahamoorthi smiled and changed his expression and appearance. He stood there in Kireedaachalam, under the gem studded vimaanam, with his four powerful arms, two beautiful Devi, merciful eyes shaped like the petals of a lotus flower and with an attractive appearance – to bless his devotees with whatever they wish for.

Since Vishnu took the form of a white boar, this Kalpam was named as Sweta Varaaha Kalpam.

5#33b. சக்தியின் லீலைகள் (2)

தவம் செய்தான் அப்போது பிரம்ம தேவனும்
தன்னுடைய அஞ்ஞானத்தை விலக்கிக் கொள்ள;

மனித நடமாட்டமே இல்லாத ஒரு வனத்தில்
தனிமையில் நிஷ்டையில் அமர்ந்து கொண்டு.

விரும்பினான் நாராயணன், ’செல்லவேண்டும்
சுரூதத் த்வீபத்தை விட்டு வேறு தபோ வனம்.’

தேடிச் சென்றான் பிரமனும் அதே சமயத்தில்
வேறு ஒரு நல்ல வனத்தைத் தவம் செய்திட.

இருவரும் சந்தித்தனர் ஓரிடத்தில் ஒரு நாளில்;
ஒருவரை ஒருவர் கேட்டனர், “நீர் யார்? கூறும்!”

பிரமன் சொன்னான் “நான் படைப்புக் கடவுள்!”
பிரமனை எள்ளி நகையாடினான் நாரணன்.

“உன்னைப் படைப்புக் கடவுள் என்கின்றாய்
உன்னைப் படைத்த கடவுள் நான் அன்றோ?

சத்துவ குண சம்பன்னன் மகா விஷ்ணு நான்;
மெத்தவும் தாழ்ந்தவன் நீ ரஜோ குணத்தால்!

அசுரர்கள் உன்னைத் துன்புறுத்துகையில்
அசுரரை வதைத்து, உன்னைக் காத்தேன்!

சரண் புகுந்தவனிடம் இத்தனை கர்வமா?
முரண்பாடாகத் தோன்றவில்லை உனக்கே?

என்னிலும் மேலானவன் அல்ல நீ பிரம்மனே!
என்னிடம் தோன்றி என்னால் வாழ்பவன் நீ!”

வாக்குவாதம் தொடங்கியது இருவரிடையே.
தாக்கிக் கொண்டனர் வாய்ச் சொற்களினால்!

“நானே பெரியவன்; நானே உயர்ந்தவன்!” எனத்
தாமே பறை சாற்றிக் கொண்டனர் வாய் ஓயாது.

5#33b. The Leelaas of Devi (2)

Brahma was also doing severe penance at the same time to remove his ignorance in a remote vanam where no human being ever entered.

He decided to change the location of doing penance at the same time when Vishnu had decided to change over to a new spot.

Both Brahma and Naaraayanan went in search of a suitable spot of doing tapas. They met on the way one day and demanded to know about each other.

Brahma said proudly, “I am the god of creation.” Naarayanan had a hearty laugh on hearing this and said mockingly,

“You call yourself the creator of the world. Have you forgotten that you were created by me? I am satva guna sampannan Sree Mahaa Vishnu. You are much lower to me because of your rajo gunam.

When the asuraas Madhu and Kaitabaa threatened you, I fought with them and saved you. I am surprised to see your arrogance towards me who had created you, protected you and saved you!”

Brahma was crestfallen by this argument but he would not admit the truth. An argument ensued with both the gods boasting about their own greatness vociferously.

12f. வீரவாகு

வீரவாகு வளைத்தார் தன் வில்லை!
விடாமழை எனப் பொழிந்தன கணைகள்.

சினந்தனர் நூற்றுவர் அரிமுகன் மக்கள்;
சிந்தினர் கணைமழை வீரவாகுவின் மீது!

வாட்போர் தொடங்கியது வீரர்களிடையே.
வாட்போரில் வீழ்ந்தனர் அவுணர் நூற்றுவர்.

சூலப் படையை எய்தான் அரிமுகன்!
நீலகண்டன் வாளால் துண்டானது அது.

சிவப் படைக்கலத்தை வீரவாகு எய்யவே
சிவப் படைக்கலத்தை அரிமுகன் எய்தான்.

இரண்டு படைக்கலன்களும் கலந்துறவாடித்
திரும்பிச் சென்றன எய்தவர்களிடமே!

மாய்க்கும் உபாயத்தைச் சிந்தித்த அவுணன்
மாயப் பாசத்தைக் கையில் எடுத்தான்.

“பூதர்களைக் கட்டி, அவர்கள் உயிரை உண்டு,
ஆதவன் தோன்றும் மலை மீது வைத்து,

அவர்களை விட்டு அகலாமல் விலகாமல்
அங்கேயே இருப்பாய் ஆகுக !’ என்றான்.

மாற்றுப் படைக்கலன் செலுத்தும் முன்பே
மாயப் படைக்கலன் விரைந்து சென்றது!

தோதாகப் பிணித்தது பூதர்களை எல்லாம்.
ஆதவன் தோன்றும் மலைமேல் வைத்தது.

“பாடி வீட்டில் பயல் பதுங்கி உள்ளானா?
ஓடிச் சென்று ஒளிந்து கொண்டானா? ‘ என்று

தீயை நாடும் விட்டில் பூச்சியாகியவன்
தீயிற் தோன்றிய முருகனிடம் சென்றான்.

 4 # 12. f. Veerabaahu and Singamukhan.

Veerabaahu shot arrows continuously from his bow. The one hundred sons of Singamukhan became enraged. They too rained arrows on Veerabaahu.

A sword fight ensued and the one hundred sons of Singamukhan got killed in it. Singamukhan threw his soolam at veerabaahu. He promptly cut it into two with the sword given by Siva.
Veeravaagu shot the asthram of Siva and Singamukhan did likewise. The arrows interacted and then went back to their owners. Singamkhan planned the death of the army of demons by treachery.

He ordered the paasam given by Maayaa Devi,“Go forth and bind the army of my enemy. Kill all the warriors and place them on the hill at the eastern side. You too remain there with them.”

Before Veerabaahu could shoot the nullifying arrow, maaya paasam hurried and bound all the demons. It carried them to the top of the mountain in the east.

Singamukhan went looking for Murugan teasing whether the little boy had run away or gone into hiding?

Singamukhan going in search of Murugan born out of fire,
was very similar to a moth being attracted by the flame,
which will eventually cause its death.

3a. நாரதர்

கலியுகத்தில் நிகழ்த்தினர் மாபெரும் யாகம்
காசியபர் முதலிய முனிபுங்கவர்கள் சேர்ந்து.

வேதகோஷம் ஓங்கி ஒலித்தது யாகசாலையில்
தேவரிஷி நாரதர் வந்தார் அந்த யாகசாலைக்கு.

“அவிர் பாகம் அளிக்கப் போவது யாருக்கு?” என
ஆர்வத்துடன் கேட்டார் முனிவர்களை நாரதர்.

“இன்னமும் முடிவு செய்யவில்லை அதனை
இருக்கிறதே காலஅவகாசம் அதற்கு” என்றனர்.

“சத்துவ குணமே முக்குணங்களில் உத்தமம்;
சத்துவ குணம் கொண்டவரைக் கண்டறிந்து,

பூர்த்தி செய்யுங்கள் உங்கள் யாகத்தை ” என்று
பற்ற வைத்தார் நாரதர் கலஹம் நடப்பதற்கு.

“இறைவன் குணத்தை ஆராயும் அளவிற்குத்
திறமை உள்ளவர் யார் உள்ளார் உலகினில்?”

தேர்வு செய்தனர் பிருகுவை பிற முனிவர்கள்;
தேர்வு செய்யவேண்டும் அவர் சத்துவ குணனை.

சத்திய லோகம் சென்றார் பிருகு முனிவர்;
பத்மாசனத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்தார் பிரமன்.

சாவித்திரி, காயத்திரி தேவியருடன் இருந்தனர்
சரஸ்வதி தேவியும், திக்பாலகர்களும் குழுமி!

நின்று கொண்டே இருந்தார் பிருகு – அவரைக்
கண்டதாகவே காட்டிக் கொள்ளவில்லை பிரமன்!

‘எத்தனை நேரம் தான் நிற்பது?” என்று எண்ணிச்
சத்தம் இன்றி அமர்ந்துவிட்டார் பிருகு முனிவர்.

அனுமதி பெறாமலேயே அமர்ந்த முனிவரை
அலட்சியம் செய்தார் பிரம தேவன் சபையில்

முனிவரை அலட்சியம் செய்த பிரமனுக்குக்
கனிவான சத்துவகுணம் இல்லவே இல்லை!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

#3a. Naradar

The sages performed a huge yaagaa in Kaliyuga. The chanting of Vedas reverberated all over the place. Deva rushi Narada visited the yaagasaalaa. He asked the rushis,

”Who will you offer the Havis to?” The rushis replied, “We have not decided about that yet. There is still plenty of time to think about it!”

Naradar said,”Sathva guna is the best among the three gunas. Find out which of the Gods is most satvic in his temperament and offer the Havis to him.”

Who was wise enough to test the satvic temperament of the gods and find the answer? All the sages felt that sage Brugu was the one suitable for that task. So it was decided that

Brugu would test the trimoorthis and find out who was the most satvic among them. Brugu went to Satya Lokam first.

Brahma was seated on his lotus flower surrounded by his three Devis – Savithri, Gaayatri and Saraswathi along with the ashta dikpaalakaas. Brugu kept standing for a long time. Brahma did not tell him a to take a seat. So finally Brugu himself took a seat quietly.

Brahma did not like the sage sitting down without his permission and so ignored his presence in the gathering. Brugu thought to himself, “A god with such a temperament is anything but satvic in nature!”

5#33c. சக்தியின் லீலைகள் (3)

தோன்றியது சிவலிங்கம் அவர்கள் நடுவே!
வெண்மையாக, உயர்ந்து, ஆழ்ந்து, அகன்று!

ஒலித்தது ஆகாசவாணி வானத்தில் கம்பீரமாக ;
“ஒளிரும் சிவலிங்கத்தின் அடி, முடி எங்குள்ளது?

கண்டு வாருங்கள் அடியை அன்றேல் முடியை;
கண்டு வருகின்றவனே உங்களில் உயர்ந்தவன்.”

அன்ன வடிவெடுத்துப் பறந்தான் பிரமன் வானில்;
சொன்னபடி சிவலிங்கத்தின் முடியினைக் கண்டிட.

பன்றி வடிவெடுத்துப் பாதாளம் வரை சென்றான்
சொன்னபடி லிங்கத்தின் அடியைக் காண நாரணன்.

பாதாளம் வரை சென்றும் பயன் ஒன்றும் இல்லை;
பார்க்க முடியவில்லை சிவலிங்கத்தின் அடியை!

வழியில் கண்டான் பறந்து சென்ற பிரம்மன்
நழுவி விழுந்து கொண்டிருந்த தாழம்பூவை.

விழுந்து கொண்டிருந்தது லிங்கத்திலிருந்து!
விஷ்ணுவிடம் காட்டினான் பிரமன் அப் பூவை.

“கண்டு விட்டேன் சிவலிங்கத்தின் முடியினை !
கொண்டு வந்தேன் சாட்சியாக இத் தாழம்பூவை!”

“மலர் கொண்டு வந்தாய் நீ சிவலிங்கத்தின்
முடியிலிருந்து என்பதற்கு என்ன அத்தாட்சி?”

“சொல்லும் சாட்சி இந்தத் தாழம்பூ உமக்கு!
சொல்வதற்கு வேறு யார் உளார் உயரத்தில்?”

சொன்னது தாழம்பூ விஷ்ணுவிடம் பொய் சாக்ஷி,
சொன்னது பிரமன் தன்னைக் கொண்டு வந்ததாக!”

5#33c. The Leelaas of Devi (3)

A glowing Siva Lingam appeared in between Naaraayanan and Brahma. It was bright white in color, very tall, broad and deep!

An aakaash vaaNi was heard from the sky. “Find the top and bottom of this Siva Lingam. Whosoever returns first after locating it, will be the better god between you!”

Brahma assumed the form of a swan and flew higher and higher in sky searching for the top of the endless glowing Siva Lingam.

Naaraayanan took the form of a boar and went down digging the earth deeper and deeper until he had reached Paataalam. But he failed to find the end of the lingam.

Meanwhile Brahma saw a flower falling down from the top of the sivalingam. He took hold of it and showed it to Naaraayanan saying, ” I have seen the top of the Siva Lingam. I brought this flower from there as a witness!”

But Naaraayanan would not believable his words. He asked Brahma,”Who will bear witness to the statement that you have indeed picked the flower from the top of the Siva Lingam yourself?”

Brahma said, “The flower can bear witness to my words. Who else is there so high in the sky to bear witness for me”

The flower falsely testified Brahma’s claim as true!

 12g. முருகபிரான்.

தேரில் ஏறினான் முருகக் கடவுள்,
தேவர்கள் மகிழ்ந்து ஆரவாரித்தனர்.

பூதர் புடைசூழ தேவர்கள் துதிக்க,
புறப்பட்டான் முருகன் போர்க்களம்!

அரிமுகன் படையுடன் எதிர்த்தான்;
அவுணர்கள் அழிதலைக் கண்டான்;

மாயையினால் தரித்தான் பேருருவம்.
மருண்டனர் தேவர்கள், பூதர்கள்.

அண்டங்கள் போன்ற ஆயிரம் வாய்கள்!
உண்டு விழுங்கின பூதர்க் கூட்டத்தை!

மூச்சுக் காற்றுடன் உட்புகுந்து பின்
மூச்சுக் காற்றுடன் வெளி வந்தனர்.

ஆயிரம் வெள்ளம் பூதங்களையும்
அடக்கிவிட்டான் அரிமுகன் வயிற்றில்.

களித்தான் சூரன் செய்தி கேட்டு!
அளித்தான் பரிசு தூதுவனுக்கு.

பக்க துணையாகப் படையை அனுப்பி ,
பார்த்தான் போரை உயர ஏறி நின்று!

விண்ணளவு வளர்ந்த அரிமுகனையும்,
மண்ணில் தனித்து நின்ற முருகனையும்,

கண்டு மிக மகிழ்ச்சி கொண்டான்.
பண்டு அடைந்த துயரம் பறந்தது!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

4 # 12. g. Lord Murugan.

Murugan climbed into his chariot and the Deva cheered him heartily. He went to the battle field accompanied by his army. Singamukhan came forward to fight Murugan.

He was unhappy to see the setback suffered but the asura army. He assumed a gigantic form, The Deva and the demons got frightened.

His thousand mouths were like a thousand worlds. He swallowed the army of Murugan, grabbing it by handfuls. The demons were alternately drawn in and thrown out by his breath!

Soon every single demon warrior was inside his stomach.
Soorapadman became very happy to hear this news and
showered costly gifts on the messenger.

He sent his army as a back up to Singamukhan. Sooran climbed on a tall tower and was happy to see Singamukhan stand towering to the sky and puny little Murugan standing on the ground all alone.

All his sorrows and fears disappeared and he became very happy.

3b. ஈசனும், உமையும்

பிரமனின் போக்குப் பிடிக்காத பிருகு
பிரம்மலோகத்தை விட்டுச் சென்றார்.

அடுத்துச் சென்றார் கயிலை மலைக்கு
அங்கும் ஆனார் சிவபூஜையில் கரடியாக.

தனிமையில் இனிமை கண்டிருந்தவரின்
தனிமையைக் குலைத்தார் பிருகுமுனிவர்.

கவனம் வேறிடத்தில் இருந்ததால் ஈசன்
கவனிக்கவில்லை பிருகுவின் வரவை.

பெண்ணுக்கு உண்டு அதிக உள்ளுணர்வு;
கண்டு விட்டாள் உமை முனிவர் வரவை.

விலகிச் செல்லுமாறு ஈசனுக்குணர்த்த,
விலகிச் செல்லாமல் நின்று கொண்டிருந்த

முனிவர் மேல் கொண்டான் சீற்றம் சிவன்;
முனிவரும்கொண்டார் சீற்றம் சிவனிடம்.

தேடி வந்தவரைக் காக்க வைத்தது ஒன்று;
தேடி வந்தவரை வரவேற்காதது இரண்டு;

நாடி வந்த காரணத்தை வினவாதது மூன்று;
நாடி வந்தவரிடம் சினம் கொள்வது நான்கு!

தவறுக்கு மேல் தவறு செய்து கொண்டிருந்த
சிவபெருமான் மேல் சீற்றம் பொங்கியது.

கோபத்தின் மிகுதியால் பிருகு முனிவர்
சாபத்தை அளித்தார் சிவ பெருமானுக்கு,

“உலகில் இனிக் கிடையாது உனக்கு
உருவ வழிபாடு என்ற ஒன்று!” என்றார்!

நின்றுவிட்டது சிவனுக்கு உருவ வழிபாடு
இன்றும் எங்கும் நடப்பது லிங்க வழிபாடே.

சத்துவ குணம் இல்லாதவன் சிவன் என்று
உத்தம குணனைத் தேடினார் வைகுந்தத்தில்.

#3b. Siva and Uma

Brugu rushi left Brahma lokam in a huff after being slighted and insulted by Brahma. He went straight to Kailash. Siva and Uma were enjoying each others’ company in solitude.

Brugu disturbed their solitude. Siva did not notice the arrival of the rushi but Uma noticed it and told Siva to keep some distance.

Siva got annoyed with Brugu who disturbed their happy moments and stood rooted to the spot without leaving the place silently. Burgu also got annoyed with him since Siva did not welcome him, made him wait, did not ask for the reason which brought him there and on top of all these got angry with him.

He cursed Siva, “Hence forth you will not have any puja performed for your roopam. ” The worship now changed to the linga roopam.

Brugu was disappointed with Siva and went to vaikuntam to continue his quest for the most satvic god.

5#33d. சக்தியின் லீலைகள் (4)

நம்பவில்லை நாராயணன் இருவர் கூற்றையும்;
“நம்புவேன் பரமசிவனார் உரைத்தால் மட்டுமே!”

கோபம் கொண்டார் பரமசிவன் இவற்றால்;
சாபம் தந்தார் பொய் சொன்ன தாழம்பூவுக்கு!

“நழுவிக் கொண்டிருந்தாய் என் முடியிலிருந்து;
நடுவில் கைப்பற்றினான் உன்னைப் பிரமன்.

வழுவினாய் உண்மையிலிருந்து முற்றிலும்!
இழந்தாய் என்னைப் பூஜிக்கும் தகுதியை”

நாணம் கொண்டு சிவனை வணங்கினர்;
நாணம் ஏற்படக் காரணம் தெரியுமா?

அடைந்தனர் மனமயக்கம் நாரணனும், பிரமனும்;
அடைந்தனர் கர்வம் ‘நானே உயர்ந்தவன்’ என்று!

மாயையே காரணம் அவர்கள் மயக்கத்திற்கு;
மாயையே காரணம் அவர்கள் கர்வத்திற்கு.

மயக்கத்தைத் தந்து நம்மை பந்திக்கும் மாயை;
மயக்கத்தைத் தொலைத்தால் சித்திக்கும் முக்தி.

எங்கும், எதிலும், எப்போதும் நிறைந்து
தங்கும் அன்னை பராசக்தியே மாயை!

தருவாள் ஞானம்; நீக்குவாள் அஞ்ஞானம்;
தருவாள் முக்தியை; நீக்குவாள் பந்தத்தை!”

சுரத மன்னனுக்கும், வணிகன் சமாதிக்கும்
சுமேதஸ் முனிவர் விளக்கினார் இவற்றை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#33d. The Leelaas of Devi (4)

ANwould not believe the words of either Brahma or the flower as the truth. He declared. “I will believe this only if Lord Siva himself confirms the truth of this statement”

Siva got annoyed by the audacity of the flower and cursed it. He said, “You had slipped from the top of my Lingam and were falling down. Brahma intercepted you midway and took hold of you. Yet you had the audacity to a tell a total lie. You are not fit for my aaraadhana hence forth.”

Brahma and Vishnu prostrated to Lord Siva humbled. Brahma became red with guilt.

Why did they feel ashamed and had to be humbled? It is because both of them got deleted and became proud and arrogant about their own greatness.

Maayaa deluded them. maayaa made them proud and arrogant. Maayaa deludes us and binds us. If we can come out of the delusion we can get liberated. The Paraa Shakti who resides in everything, everywhere and all the time is the all powerful Mahaa Maayaa.

She steeps us in ignorance. She can enlighten us in one moment. She binds us in samsaaraa. She can deliver us from bondage in one second. Everything and everyone is always in her power.”

Sage Sumedas explained the Leelaas and greatness of Paraa Shakti Devi to king Suratha and the merchant Samaadhi.
 
KANDA PURAANAM - PORPURI KAANDAM

12h. அரிமுகன்,ஆறுமுகன்

வில்லை வளைத்தான் வடிவேல் முருகன்;
விற்புருவத்தையும் உடன் வளைத்தான்!

எல்லை இல்லாத நாண் ஒலி எழுப்பினான்;
தொல்லைகள் தந்தது அந்தப் பேரொலி.

ஆயிரம் அண்டங்கள் வெடித்துச் சிதற,
அறிவிழந்து விழுந்தனர் அவுணர்கள்.

வீழ்ந்தன கரிகளும், பரிகளும் ;
அழிந்தன தேர்களும், பிறவும் ;

முருகன் முன் சென்றான் அரிமுகன்,
ஒரு கேள்வி கேட்டான் முருகனிடம்,

“சிவனார் திருமகனே! பதில் கூறும் !
அவுணர்கள், தேவர்கள் பகைவர்கள்;

பகைவரை ஒறுப்பது அரசன் கடமை!
பகைமை எம்மிடம் நீ கொண்டது ஏன்?” என

“வலியவன் எளியவனை ஒறுத்தால்
எளியவனைக் காப்பது எம் கடமை.

சிறையில் அடைத்தீர் அமரர்களை.
சிறை நீக்குவது எம் கடமை ஆனது.”என

“பிழைக்க விரும்பினால் ஓடிவிடு நீ !
அழிய விரும்பினால் போரிடு சிறுவா!”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

4 # 12. h. Murugan and Singamukhan.

Murugan drew his bow. He bent his bow-like eye brows in anger. The noise made by his bow made the worlds tremble.

The army of the asura fell faint on the ground! The elephants and horses rolled down on the ground. The Chariots and everything else got destroyed.

Singamukhan went in front of Murugan and put a question to him.

“Answer my question oh son of Siva! Devas are our sworn enemies. The duty of a king is to punish his enemies. Then why do you wage war on us for doing our kingly duty?”

Murugan replied, “If the mighty people trouble the meek and the weak, it is my duty to save the meek from the mighty. You have imprisoned the Devas and it is my mission to free them from your prison!”

Singamukhan became mad with rage and warned Murugan,“If you want to live, run away now. If you want to get killed start the war.”
