DEVI BHAAGAVATAM - SKANDA 4

4#18a. Devi Stuti

Sage Vyaasaa told King Janamejayan what VishNu had told Brahma long long ago.

“Those who are deluded will never know the truth, But we The Trinity know the truth. We had a darshan of Shakti Devi in the MaNi dweepam. She who is supreme among Gods and she who is the AadhiParaa Shakti. Let us woship her together now”.

All the Devas, Gods and mother Earth prayed to the Supreme Devi and she gave a very pleasing darshan immeditely.

She was the color of the red hibiscus flowers and had the Paasam, Ankusam and Abhaya, Varada mudra in her hands.

“A spider builds a nest from its own body. You create the whole world from yourself. Sparks appear on the tongues of flame. Jeevaas appear in you. You are the ocean of mercy. You are the remover of difficulties and sorrows.

Please reduce the weight of the earth. Only you are capable of doing this Oh Devi! The number of wicked people on earth is escalating and you must put an end to their atrocities”

The Devi asked in a sweet voice, What is that you want me to do now?”

The Devaas and Gods said. “You must wipe off the tears of sorrow from the eyes of the Mother Earth”

27c. பொய்க் காக்கை

பொங்கும் காவிரியை விடுவிக்க விரும்பி
கொங்குநாட்டை அடைந்தான் ஆனைமுகன்;

பொய்க் காக்கை வடிவெடுத்து அமர்ந்தான்
பொய்க்காத காவிரிநீர் கமண்டலத்தின் மேல்.

பொய்க் காக்கையை புரிந்து கொள்ளாது
மெய்க் காக்கை என எண்ணினார் முனிவர்;

காகத்தை விரட்டக் கையை ஓங்கவே
காகம் பறந்தது, கமண்டலம் கவிந்தது!

“நிலத்தில் பாய்ந்து செல்வாய் காவேரி!”
நினைத்த மாத்திரத்தில் நிலத்தில் பாய்ந்தது!

பறவை உருவத்தை மாற்றிக் கொண்டான்!
பார்ப்பனச் சிறுவன் வடிவம் பூண்டான்.

சிறுவனே கவிழ்த்தான் காவிரியை எனச்
சீறிச் சினந்தார் குறுமுனி அகத்தியர்.

விரைந்து சிறுவனை விரட்டிச் செல்ல
விரைந்தான் அஞ்சிய அச் சிறுவனும்!

“குட்டாமல் விடுவதில்லை இவனை இன்று!”
எட்டாமலும் எட்டியும் திரிந்தான் சிறுவன்.

மடக்கிய கையோடு துரத்திய முனிவர் பின்
உடல் சோர்ந்து தளர்ந்து நின்று விட்டார்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
KANDA PURAANAM - ASURA KAANDAM

 2 (#27c). Agasthya and Vinayaka.

Lord Ganesh went to Kongu Naadu where sage Agasthya was staying. He took the form of a crow and sat on the kamandalam.

The sage did not recognize the Lord. He tied to scare the crow away. The crow flew away and the kamandalam toppled down.

“Flow on the earth!” the Lord commanded and Kaveri started rushing and gushing on the ground.

Now Lord Ganesh took the form of a brahmin boy and the sage thought, “This is the boy who toppled my kamandalam and Kaveri.”

He started chasing the boy wishing to rap him hard on his head. The boy appeared to be very scared and kept running just beyond the reach of the rushi.

After some time the sage stopped running as he became too tired to chase the boy.

4k. லக்கன்

ஆசிரமத்தில் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்,
அபிஷேக ஆராதனைகள் கபில முனிவர்.

“கணன் வந்துள்ளான் பெரும் படையுடன்!
கணநாதா! நீயே அபயம் அபயம்” எனவும்,

வேழமுகன் தோன்றினான், தேற்றினான்;
அழைத்தான் தன் அரிய சிங்கவாகனத்தை.

“நான் செல்கின்றேன் போருக்கு!” என்று
முன் வந்தார் சித்தி தேவியார் உடனே!

உள்ளன்போடு தந்தார் அனுமதி – அவள்
உள்ளங்கையோடு ஒன்றினார் பெருமான்.

நிராயுத பாணியாக ஓர் இளம் பெண்ணா?
குமாரர்கள் கொக்கரித்தனர் ஏளனமாக!

நெருங்கினர் அவளுடன் போர் புரிவதற்கு,
இரு குமாரர்கள் சுலபனும், சூலபாணியும்.

இமைக்கும் நேரத்தில் உற்பத்தி ஆயினர்
இலக்கத்தைக் கடந்துவிட்ட படைவீரர்கள்.

படைகள் மோதின உக்கிரத்துடன்,
தடைகள் இல்லை போர் புரிவதற்கு!

தேவியின் படைகள் தளர்ந்தவுடன்,
தேவி தோற்றுவித்தாள் இலக்கனை.

பஞ்சு போல அழிந்தது படை தீ முன்!
அஞ்சிய வீரர்கள் இட்டனர் புறமுதுகு.

சிறைப்பட்டனர் சுலபன், சூலபாணி,
இறைவன் முன்கொண்டு நிறுத்தினர்!

#34k. Ilakkan

Kapilar was performing the daily abhisheka aaraadhana. When he came to know about the army of GaNan approaching the ashram he prayed to his lord, “Oh Vinyaka! you must protect us from the army of GaNan. We have no one else to save us”

Vinayaka appeared with his two Devis. He called out for his simha vaahanam. But Siddhi Devi offered to go and fight with GaNan. Vinayaka allowed her to go the battle field. He merged in her palms.

When Sulabhan and SoolapaaNi the sons of GaNan saw a young woman all alone without any weapon in the battle field, they sneered and jeered at her. They went near her. Devi produced an army of armed soldiers in a blink of an eye.

Both the armies fought well. When Devi’s army has become weak she created a mighty warrior called Lakkan. GaNa’s army got destroyed like a bale of cotton in a wild fire.

Sulabhan and SoolapaaNi were arrested and taken before Vinayaka.

4#18b. தேவியின் மறுமொழி

புன்னகை பூத்தாள் ஜகதன்னை இது கேட்டு.
“மன்னர்கள் கொண்டனர் தீய அசுர குணம்!

கொல்வேன் துஷ்டர்களை அதிவிரைவில்;
வல்லமை தருவேன்; உமக்கு உதவுவேன்.

காச்யபன் மனைவியுடன் சென்று பிறப்பான்
கனக துந்துபியாக யாதவர்கள் குலத்தினில்.

பிருகுவின் சாபத்தால் பிறப்பான் விஷ்ணு
கிருஷ்ணனாக, தேவகி வசுதேவன் மகனாக.

பெண்ணாகப் பிறப்பேன் யசோதை இல்லத்தில்
கண்ணனும், நானும் இடம் மாறிவிடுவோம்.

பிறப்பான் ஆதிசேஷன் ரோஹிணி மகனாக.
பிறப்பான் அர்ஜுனன் இந்திரனின் அம்சமாக.

பிறப்பான் தருமன் யமனின் அம்சமாக;
பிறப்பான் பீமன் வாயுவின் அம்சமாக;

பிறப்பர் இரட்டையர் அச்வினியர் அம்சமாக,
பிறப்பான் பீஷ்மன் தியா வசுவின் அம்சமாக.

துவாபர யுகத்தின் முடிவில் அழிவார்கள்
துஷ்ட ஜனங்கள் இவர்களால் கரங்களால்.

குறைந்துவிடும் பூமியின் அதிக பாரம்!
மறைந்து விடும் பூமியின் இத் துயரம்!

கொள்வர் யாதவர் அதிக அஹங்காரம்.
கொள்வர் மமதை, மோஹம், காமம்.

அழியும் யாதவகுலம் பிராமண சாபத்தால்!
அழிவான் கிருஷ்ணனும் ஒரு சாபத்தால்!

மதுரா புரியில் சென்று பிறவி எடுங்கள்;
உதவி புரியுங்கள் கிருஷ்ணன் பிறந்ததும்”

4#18b. Devi’s reply

Devi smiled at the Deva gathered in front of her. “Many of the kings are wicked now. I will get all of them killed very soon. I will give you all the power and might you need and also help you kill them.

Kasyap will be born in Yaadava race as Kanaka Dundubi. Vishnu will be born as Krishna due to Sage Brugu’s curse.

I will be born in Yasoda’s house as her daughter. Later on Krishna and I will switch places.

Aadhiseshan will be born as Balram to Rohini. Arjun will be born as Indra’s amsam. Dharman will be born as the amsam of Yama and Bheema as the amsam of Vaayu.The twins will be born as the amsam of the Aswini Devata. Bheeshma will be born as the amsam of Dyaus Vasu.

At the end of the Dwaapara yuga, all the wicked men will get killed. The extra weight borne by the Mother Earth will reduced. So also the deep sorrow she is suffering now.

The Yaadavas will get bloated with pride and arrogance. The Yaadava race will be cursed to destruction by an enraged sage. Krishna will die due to a curse. So all of you be born in Maduraapuri and wait for Krishna’s birth!”

27d. ஐங்கரன்.

மெலிந்து நின்ற அகத்திய முனிவருக்கு
வலியத் தன்வடிவைக் காட்டினான் ஐங்கரன்.

“இச்சிறுவனைக் குட்டுவேன்!” என்று துரத்தியவர்
அச்சம் கொண்டார் ஆனைமுகனைக் கண்டதும்!

இரங்கினார், ஏங்கினார், மனம் கலங்கினார், தலையில்
இரண்டு கைகளாலும் இடிபோலக் குட்டிக் கொண்டார்.

“ஏன் இப்படிக் குட்டிக் கொள்ளுகிறீர்கள் அன்பரே?”
“என் பிழைகள் தீரவும், தீவினைகள் மாறவும் ஐயனே!

அறிவு அணுவளவும் இல்லாது அடியேன் உம்மைச்
சிறுவன் என ஓட ஓட விரட்டினேன் குட்டுவதற்கு.”

“அன்பரே! அறியாது நீர் செய்த பிழை இது;
துன்பம் அகற்றுவீர்! மன இன்பம் உறுவீர்!”

ஆனை முகன் அடியில் விழுந்து வணங்கியவர்
தேனை அருந்தியவர் போல் உள்ளம் களித்தார்.

“இந்திரன் ஒளிந்து வாழ்கின்றான் சீகாழியில்.
நந்தவனம் அமைத்தான் ஈசனைப் பூசிக்க.

வாடிப் போயிற்று பூங்கா மழை நீரின்றி;
நாடினான் என் உதவியை நன்னீர் வேண்டி!

தேடிவந்து உம்மிடம் உள்ள காவேரி நதியை
ஓடிப்பாயச் செய்தேன் அவன் நந்தவனத்துக்கு.

எந்தையிடம் மிக்க அன்பு பூண்டவர் நீர்;
என்னிடத்தும் மிக்க அன்பு கொண்டவர் நீர்.

வேண்டும் வரம் கேளும் நான் தருவேன்
மீண்டும் நான் தருவேன் காவிரி நீரையும் !”

“குன்றாத பக்தியினை அளிப்பீர் எனக்கு – உம்
முன் நின்று குட்டிக் கொள்ளும் அன்பருக்கு

தண்ணருளும் தரவேண்டும் என் ஐயனே!
மண்ணில் நல்வாழ்வு நல்கிட வேண்டும்!”

அந்த வண்ணமே குறுமுனிக்கு அருள்செய்து,
நன்னீரால் நிரப்பினான் அவர் கமண்டலத்தை.

2 (# 27d). The sage and the Lord.

Lord Ganesh revealed himself to the sage. The sage was taken by surprise and felt very sorry for is misdeeds in chasing the Lord all over the land. He rapped his own head hard with both his fists.

The Lord asked him “Why do you punish yourself thus?”

“I was a fool not to recognize you Lord. I chased you and wanted to rap you hard on your head. Please pardon my sins!”

“These were done unintentionally. Do feel sorry for them.”

The sage fell at the feet of Lord Ganesh and praised him. The Lord spoke again,

“Indra is living in Seekazhi. He had planted a garden for fresh flowers for Lord Siva’s worship.

The garden has withered due to the failure of rain fall. He sought my help and hence I released Kaveri from your kamandalam. You are dear to my father. You are dear to me too. I shall give you any boon you wish for. I shall also give you Kaveri water.”

“I seek nothing but undiminished bhakti. You must bless those persons who rap their heads in front of you and grant them good fortune and happiness.”

The Lord Ganesh agreed to this wish and refilled the kamandalam with the water of the river Kaveri.

4l. பஞ்ச பாணம்

“கணனின் மகன்கள் இவர்கள்” என
கணநாதரிடம் கூறினான் லக்கன்.

புறமுதுகிட்ட வீரர்கள் சென்றனர்,
அரசனிடம் கூறினர் நிலைமையை.

“இந்திராதி தேவரால் இல்லை அழிவு!
எந்தக் காரணம் கொண்டு அச்சம்?

செல்வோம் யுத்தகளத்துக்கு நாமே;
வெல்வோம் முனிவரின் படையை;

மீட்போம் இரு குமாரர்களையும்!”
கேட்டான் கணன் அறிவுரையை.

சிதறிய படையைத் திரட்டினான்;
பதறாமல் சென்றான் போர்க்களம்.

சித்திதேவி, புத்திதேவியர் சகிதம் அங்கு
சிங்கவாகனத்தில் கண்டான் கணபதியை1

அருகில் நின்று இருந்தார் கபில முனிவர்,
வெருட்டினான் அவரைச் சொற்களாலேயே.

“என்னைக் கொல்ல வந்தவன் இவனா?
தன்னைக் காத்துக் கொள்ளட்டும் முதலில்!

விளக்கை நாடி வந்து வீழ்ந்து மடியும்
விட்டில் போலவே வந்துள்ளான் இவன்!”

கணன் உரைத்த மொழிகளைக் கேட்டு
கணபதி உரைத்தார் இந்த மறுமொழி.

“உயிர் வாழலாம் என் உயிர் பிச்சையால்;
தயக்கம் இல்லை உன்னை அழிப்பதற்கு!

மறைக்கிறது உன் மதியை மமதை!
இறப்பதற்குச் சித்தம் ஆகிவிட்டாயோ?

தொழுதால் உயிர் வாழலாம் அன்றிப்
பொருதால் உயிர் மாளலாம்” என்றதும்

பதில் வந்தது ஓர் அம்பு வடிவத்தில்,
பஞ்ச பாணங்களை எய்தான் கணன்.

#34L. Pancha baaNam

Lakkan told Vinayaka,”These are the two sons of GaNan.” The soldiers who ran away from the battle field, went to GaNan and told him that the two princes had been captured. GaNan got very worried.

His ministers advised him thus:
“You are invincible O King! Why do worry or feel upset? We will go to the battle field and release the princes immediately.”

GaNan liked this idea. He gathered the remaining soldiers and went to attack the army of Kapilar. He saw Vinayaka with his two Devis and sage Kapilar was standing near them. GaNan got very angry at their sight.

“So you are the one who has come to kill me! First you save yourself from me. A moth gets attracted by a lamp and goes near it only to get killed. You too have come to me only to get killed”

Vinayaka retorted, “You are blinded by your pride and ego. I can still spare your life and you may live longer- if you feel sorry for your actions. But if want a war, hou shall have it and I will not hesitate to kill you.”

GaNan did not reply to this but shot on Vinayaka an arrow consisting of five arrows.

4#19a. யோகமாயை

வித்தை, அவித்தை என்ற உருவங்களில்
விளங்குகிறாள் யோகமாயை பராசக்தி.

சடுதியில் பிணிக்கின்றாள் சம்சாரத்தில்;
சடுதியில் விடுவிக்கின்றாள் அதிலிருந்து.

பிணிக்கின்றாள் நம்மை அவித்தையாக!
துணிக்கிறாள் தளைகளை வித்தையாக!

மும்மூர்த்திகள் வசப்படுவர் அவித்தைக்கு.
மும்மூர்த்திகள் வசப்படுவர் வித்தைக்கும்.

கட்டி இயங்க வைக்கிறாள் அனைவரையும்;
கொட்டிலில் அடைபட்டுள்ள மாடுகள் போல.

துக்கமும், சுகமும் உண்டு அனைவருக்கும்;
தூக்கம், சோம்பல் உண்டு அனைவருக்கும்.

பிறப்பு என்று ஒன்று இருந்தால் உயிர்களுக்கு
இறப்பு என்ற ஒன்றும் இருக்கும் திண்ணமாக.

அமரர்கள் அல்ல தேவர்கள் உண்மையில்;
அதிக காலம் வாழ்கின்றனர் அவ்வளவே!

அதிக காலம் ஜீவிப்பான் தேவரிலும் இந்திரன்;
அதிக காலம் ஜீவிப்பான் இந்திரனிலும் பிரமன்;

அதிக காலம் ஜீவிப்பான் பிரமனிலும் விஷ்ணு;
அதிக காலம் ஜீவிப்பான் விஷ்ணுவிலும் ருத்திரன்

ஒளி தரும் சூரிய சந்திரர்களால் – முடியவில்லை
ஒழிப்பதற்குத் தம்மைப் பற்றியுள்ள பீடைகளை.

மந்தன் ஆவான் ஒளிமிக்க சூரியனின் மகன்;
சந்திரனோ எனில் களங்கங்கள் நிறைந்தவன்

உலவுகின்றனர் வானவீதியில் ஒளி தந்து.
நிலவுகின்றன அவர்களுக்கும் கஷ்டங்கள்.

4#19a. Yoga Maayaa

Paraa Shakti exhibits in two different forms as Avidhya (Ignorance) and Vidhya (Knowledge). She binds a jeeva in Samsaaraa in a moment acting the role of Avidhya. She liberates the jeeva from all the bonds in a moment as Vidhya.

Even The Trinity are bound by Vidhya and Avidhya. Yoga Maayaa controls all the jeeva as the cows tied in a barn. Pleasure and pain are common for all living beings. Sleep and sloth are common for all the jeevaas.

If there is thing called the birth there must be the one called death. The Devaas are not immortals as commonly misunderstood by us.

The Deva live for longer periods than men. Indra lives longer than the Devaas and Brahma lives longer than Indra. Vishnu lives longer than Brahma. Rudran lives longer than Vishnu.

Even the luminous objects could not get rid of their blemishes. The brilliant Sun has a son called Mandhan. The cool moon has many defects and blemishes.

These heavenly bodies roam around in the sky giving us light but they are not free from worries!

28a. திருமுற்றம்.

செல்லும் வழியில் இருந்தது ஓர் ஊர்.
சொல்லும் பெயர் திருமுற்றம் என்பது.

வைணவப் பார்ப்பனர்கள் வாழும் இடம்;
வேத, வேதாந்தங்களைக் கற்றிருந்த போதும்

நல்லறிவு பெறவில்லை அவ்வைணவர்கள்;
பொல்லாத பழவினைகளின் ஊழ்வலியால்.

பகை வளர்த்தனர் சிவனடியார்கள் மீது!
நகைக்கும்படி இழந்தனர் நல்லொழுக்கம்.

திருமுற்றத்து வைணவர்களின் தீச்செயல்களை
குறுமுனிவர் நன்கு அறிந்துகொண்டு இருந்தார்.

தெருவில் நடந்து சென்றார் கோவிலுக்கு.
திருமாலைத் தொழுதார் மனக் களிப்புடன்;

தவளைகள் போலக் கூச்சல் இடலாயினர்
அளவற்ற சினம் கொண்ட வைணவர்கள்.

“ஐயம் ஏற்று உண்டு உயிர் வாழும்
கையனுக்கு அடிமை அல்லவோ நீயும்!

விரைந்து அப்பால் சென்று விடுவாய்!
மறந்தும் மீண்டும் வந்து விடாதே இங்கு!”

“நல்வழி என்று எண்ணி வந்து விட்டேன்;
அல்ல என்பதை அறிந்து கொண்டேன்!

இனம் தெரியாமல் வந்துவிட்ட என்னிடம்
சினம் கொள்ளவேண்டாம் செல்கிறேன் நான்!”

2 (# 28 a). Thirumutram.

Agasthya passed through a place called Thirumutram. It was occupied by Vaishnavites who had learned all the scriptures but had not developed the truegnaanam.They hated the Saivites with all their hearts.

Agasthya knew about these people. He walked to the temple and worshiped Vishnu. The Vaishnavites started scolding him like a bunch of croaking frogs.

“You are a devotee of Siva who lives on the alms he gets by begging. Do not come to our village. Now off you go!”

Agasthya said,”I did not know about this place and so I ventured to enter. Please pardon me! I am going away now.”

4m. முனிவரின் மணி

பஞ்ச பாணம் பிரிந்தது ஐந்தாக!
பிஞ்சு மதியணி முடி மீது ஒன்றும்,

பாதங்கள், புஜங்கள் மீது நான்கும்,
பட்டு நீராகி மறைந்தே போயின!

வேழமுகன் சினந்தான் கணன் மீது;
மழுவினை எய்தான் கணண் மீது!

அண்டங்கள் நடுங்கிக் கலங்கின!
அறுபட்டது கணன் சிரம் மழுவால்!

எஞ்சிய வீரர்கள் அஞ்சி ஓடினர்,
தஞ்சம் புகுந்தனர் அபிஜித்திடம்.

அபிஜித் ராஜன் ஆற்றாது அழுதான்,
“அபசாரத்தால் வீணாயின வரங்கள்!

தவம் செய்து பெற்ற என் புதல்வனே!
தவமும், வரமும் பயனற்றுப் போயின!"

கிரந்தன் மந்திரி கூறினான் அவனிடம்,
"கிடைத்தது தண்டனை செய்த தவறுக்கு.

அளியுங்கள் மணியை முனியிடம்;
அபகீர்த்தி நீங்க வழி அது ஒன்றே!”

உணர்ந்தான் உண்மையை அ பிஜித்;
மணியை அளித்தான் கபிலருக்கு.

மகன் தவறுக்கு அவன் வருந்தினான்;
மன்னிப்பு கேட்டான், மண்டி இட்டான்.

“வருந்த வேண்டாம் அபிஜித் ராஜனே!
இரு குமாரர்கள் உள்ளனர் உயிருடன்.

மன்னர்கள் ஆகி ஆட்சி புரிவர்” என்று
உன்னினார் விநாயகரை மனத்தில்.

#34m. The ChintaamaNi

The Pancha baanam split into five arrows. One of them hit the crown of Vinayaka, the other four hit his legs and arms. They all vanished like vapor without harming Vinayaka.

Now Vinayaka became very angry and threw his mazhu at GaNan. The mazhu sped so fast that there was air turbulence everywhere in the world. The mazhu separated the head from the body of GaNan.

The remaining soldiers took to their heels and went to Abhijith Rajan to convey the sad news. Abhijith was beside himself with sorrow. He wept bitter tears seeing his son’s body. “Oh dear son of mine! I got you as a gift of God through my hard penance. My penance, your penance and your boons have all gone in vain.”

The minister named Krandan consoled KIng Abhijit. “The one who commit a crime or does a mistake will have to get punished. Let us return the ChintaamaNi to the sage Kapilar and seek his pardon”.

King Abhijith understood the truth in this wise counselling. He returned the ChintaamaNi to the sage Kapilar. He knelt down and begged for pardon for the mistakes committed by his son GaNan.

The sage was moved with mercy and told Abhijth. “All is not lost my king. The two sons of GaNan Sulaban and SoolapaaNi are still alive. They will become the new kings and rule the country wisely.”

The sage Kapilar concentrated on Vinayaka.

4#19b. மதுராபுரி

தான் படைத்த சரஸ்வதியிடம் கொண்டான்
தாளாத மோஹம் பிரம்ம தேவன் அன்று!

சீதையைத் தேடி அலைந்த ராமன்
சித்தம் கலங்கிப் புலம்பித் திரிந்தான்.

மாயா விமுக்தர் ஆகிய சிவபெருமான்
மயங்கினார் தாக்ஷாயணியின் மறைவால்.

காமாக்னியின் வெப்பத்தைத் தணிப்பதற்கு
காளிந்தியில் மூழ்க, நதி நீர் கறுத்து விட்டது!

சிவன் தாருகாவனம் சென்ற போது அங்கே
சிதைந்தது முனி பத்தினிகளின் கற்புநெறி.

மதுக் காடு இருந்தது காளிந்தி நதியின் அருகே.
மதுவின் மகன் லவணன் இருந்தான் அங்கே.

போரில் சத்ருக்னன் வென்றான் லவணனை
மாறியது மதுக்காடு அழகிய மதுராபுரியாக.

அரசாண்டனர் மதுராபுரியை இரு மகன்கள்;
அடைந்தான் விண்ணுலகைச் சத்ருக்னன்.

யாதவர்கள் குவிந்தனர் மதுராபுரியில்!
யயாதியின் மகன் ஆவான் சூரசேனன்.

பிறந்தான் சூரசேனன் மகனாகக் காச்யபன்
வருணன் அளித்திருந்த ஒரு சாபத்தினால்.

உக்கிர சேனன் ஆண்டான் மதுராபுரியை
உக்கிர சேனன் மகன் அரக்கன் கம்சன்.

பிறந்தாள் அதிதி, தேவகியாக தேவகனுக்கு..
திருமணம் நடந்தது தேவகி, வசுதேவனுக்கு.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி

4#19b. Madhuraapuri

Brahma fell in love with Saraswati who was created by him. Rama lost his equanimity while searching for his wife Seetaa abducted by RaavaN.

Siva who has conquered Maayaa became deluded when DaakshaayaNi sacrificed her body. He became so lonely and lovelorn that he immersed himself in the cool waters of Kaalindi river and the water tuned black due to his body heat.

When Siva visited Taarukaa vanam as a mendicant all the rushi patnis became infatuated with him and lost their pativratha attitude. Maayaa can not be conquered even by Gods and Devaa.

Madhu vanan was situated near the river Kaalindhi. Lavana the son of Madhu lived there. Satrugnan defeated Lavanan in a war. He converted the Madhu vanam into a beautiful city called Maduraapuri. His two son ruled over Madhuraapuri when Satrugnan went to heaven.

Later Yaadhavas invaded Madhuraapuri. Kahsyap was born as Vasudevan the son of Soorasenan due to a curse cast by Varuna.

Ugrasenan ruled over Madhuraapuri. His son was the wicked Kamsan. Aditi was born as the daughter of Devakan, the younger brother of Ugrasenan. Vasudevan and Devaki got married.

28b. பொய்க்கோலம்

“பாம்பணி நாதனைப் பழித்த இவ்வூர்
பாம்பணைத் துயிலும் மாலின் பக்தரின்

ஆணவ மலத்தை அடக்கிட வேண்டும்!
பேண வேண்டும் இங்கே மதநல்லுறவை!”

திருமால் அடியவரின் திருக்கோலத்துடன்
திரும்பவும் சென்றார் திருமுற்றத்துக்கு.

வைணவக் கோலம் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்து அவரை
வைணவர்கள் எதிர்கொண்டு வரவேற்றனர்.

“அழகர்மலையிலிருந்து செல்கிறேன் அத்திகிரி!
தொழவேண்டும் குடிகொண்டுள்ள பெருமானை!”

திருமால் வழிபாடு செய்யத் தேவைப்படுகின்ற
திரவியங்கள் அனைத்தும் கொண்டு தந்தனர்.

“இறைவனை வழிபடும் முறைகளை நீவீர்
குறைவின்றி கண்டு களிப்பீர்!” என்றார் அவர்.

திருமால் திருமுடியில் திருக்கரம் வைத்து,
பிறையணி நாதனை மனத்தில் இருத்தியபடி,

“குறுகு! குறுகு!” என்று அவர் கூறுகையில்
குறுகிய விக்ரஹம் மாறிவிட்டது லிங்கமாக!

பொய்க் கோலத்தைத் துறந்தார் குறுமுனி;
மெய்யன்புடன் வழிபட்டார் சிவலிங்கத்தை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
