4#15. திருமாலின் அவதாரம்

“பிருகுவின் சாபத்தால் என்னென்ன அவதாரங்கள்
திருமாலுக்கு ஏற்பட்டன எனக் கூறுங்கள் குருதேவா!”

“ஜனமேஜயா! திருமால் எடுத்தார் அவதாரம்
சாக்ஷூஷூ மன்வந்தரத்தில் முதன் முதலில்.

கிருத யுகத்தில், முதல் சதுர் யுகத்தில்
தருமரின் பிள்ளைகள் நர, நாராயணராக.

அத்திரி முனிவர் பத்தினி அனசூயாதேவி
புத்திரனாக வேண்டினாள் மும்மூர்த்தியரை.

கிருத யுகத்தில் முதல் சதுர் யுகத்தில் இங்கு
உருவெடுத்தார் தத்தாத்ரேயராக விஷ்ணு.

நான்காவது சதுர்யுக கிருதயுகத்தில் விஷ்ணு
நரசிங்கராகத் தோன்றினார் ஹிரண்யனை அழிக்க.

அடுத்த யுக்தில் பிறந்தார் காச்யபர் மகனாக;
கெடுத்தார் பலியின் கர்வத்தை வாமனனாக.

திரேதா யுகத்தில் பத்தொன்பதாவது சதுர் யுகத்தில்
பரசுராமராகத் தோன்றினார் ஜமதக்னி முனியிடம்.

திரேதா யுகத்தில் தசரத மன்னனுக்கு
ஸ்ரீ ராமராகப் பிறந்தார் ரகு வம்சத்தில்,

துவாபரயுகம் இருபத்தெட்டாவது சதுர் யுகத்தில்
அவதரித்தார் கிருஷ்ண, அர்ஜுனர்களாக.

எங்கும் நிறைந்தவர் பரமாத்மா எனினும்
எதற்கும் புலப்படாதவர் பரமாத்மா.

ஆதாரம், உருவம், ஆசைகள் இல்லாதவர்;
அறிய முடியாதவர் அந்தப் பரமாத்மா.

முக்குண பேதத்தால் மும்மூர்த்தி ஆகின்றார்
முத்தொழில்கள் புரிகின்றனர் மும்மூர்த்திகள்.

இத்தனைக்கும் காரணம் சக்தி தேவியே.
அத்தனையும் கட்டுப்படுகின்றன அவளுக்கு.

4#15. Vishnu’s avatars


King Janamejayan asked sage Vyaasaa, “What are the Avatars taken by Vishnu, as a result of sage Brugu’s curse?'”


Vyaasaa replied, “Oh king Janamejaya! Vishnu took his first avatar as Nara and Naaraayan – sons of Dharman in Kruta yugam in the first chatur yugam in the Sakshushu manvantara.


Anasooyaa Devi the patni of sage Atri wished to have the The Trinity as her son. So Vishnu took avatar as Dattaatreya in the Kruta yugam in the first chatur yugam.


In the fourth chatur yugam in Kruta yugam Vishnu took avatar as Narasimham to kill HinraNyan. In the next yugam he was born as Vaamana and destroyed the ego of Mahaa Bali.


Vishnu took avatar as Parasu Rama in the nineteenth chatur yugam in Treta yugam. Vishnu took the avatar as Sree Rama in Raghu vamsa as the son of Dasaratha in Treta yugam. Vishnu took the avatar as Krishna and Arjuna in the Dwaapara yugam in the twenty eighth chatur yugam.


Paramaatma pervades everywhere – yet he cannot be seen or known by any sense organ. He does not need any support, he is devoid of any form or any desires. The Paramaatma becomes the the Trinity due the guNa vikaaram. Then he performs the three tasks of Generating, Sustaining and Destroying the creation.


Every thing happens as per the wishes of Shakti Devi. Everything is controlled by her.

KANDA APURAANAM - ASURA KAANDAM

22. விந்திய மலை.

விந்திய மலையிடம் சென்றார் நாரதர்;
வியந்து வாழ்த்திப் போற்றினார் அதை.

விந்திய மலை தொழுதது நாரதரை;
வினயத்துடன் இன்மொழி இயம்பியது.

“மேருமலைக்குத் தருக்கு மிகுந்து விட்டது.
பொருப்பு சிவன்கை வில் ஆகிவிட்டதே!

அன்னை உமை வளர்ந்தாளாம் அதனிடம்;
அனைத்து மலைகளுக்கும் அரசனாம் அது.

கதிரவனை தொடும் உயரம் உள்ளதாம்.
கணக்கற்ற கொடுமுடிகள் கொண்டதாம்.

கயிலை மலை பொருந்தியுள்ளதாம் அங்கு!
பயிலுகிறது தனக்கு ஒப்பார் இல்லை என!”

“மேருவின் பெருமைகள் எனக்கு இல்லையா?
மேருவின் சிறுமைகளையும் நான் அறிவேன்!

மேருவும் ஒரு மலை தான், மால் அல்லவே!
மேருவுக்கு உணர்த்துவேன் என் பெருமையை!”

சத்தியலோகம் வரை வளர்ந்தது விந்தியம்;
நித்தியமாக விண்வழியைத் தடைசெய்தது.

வியப்பின் விளிம்பில் விண்ணவர், மண்ணவர்,
விந்தியம் வளர்ந்த காரணம் விளங்கும் வரையில்.

வளர்ந்த காரணத்தையும், அகத்தியரால் அது
தளர்ந்து போகும் எனவும் அறிந்து மகிழ்ந்தனர்.

KANDA APURAANAM - ASURA KAANDAM

2 (# 22). The Vindhya Giri.

Narada approached the Vindhya giri. He praised it sky-high. The giri paid its respect to Narada and spoke sweet words to him.
Narada told Vindhya,

” The mount Meru has become very arrogant since Siva uses it as his
bow. Uma Devi grew in its lap. It claims to be the king of all the mountains.

It claims it can touch the Sun. Is has countless sikharaas. Kailash is situated on it. So it says it is unmatched in its greatness.”
Vindhya replied,

“I know the greatness as well the meanness of Mount Meru. Meru is only a mountain. It is not a God like Vishnu. I will prove to him my greatness now.”

It grew up rapidly and reached Satya lokam. It obstructed the path of the sun, moon and stars.

The devas and manushyas were dumbfound by this sudden spurt of
growth. Later when they understood the cause of the growth and how it would be kept in check by sage Asasthya, they felt relieved.

4d. திக்விஜயம்

தேவர்கள் விரைந்தனர் கைலாசம்;
தேவலோகம் தகித்தது வெப்பத்தால்!

“கௌரீபதே! பஞ்சாக்ஷரம் ஜபித்துக்
கோரத் தவம் செய்கின்றான் ஒருவன்.

தகிக்கிறது சுவர்க்கத்தை யோகாக்னி.
தாங்களே அபயம் அபயம்” என்றனர்.

காளை வஹானம் ஏறி உமையுடன்
காட்சி தந்தார் சிவபிரான் கனணுக்கு.

மெய் சிலிர்த்துப் புளகம் அடைந்தான்;
கை கூப்பியபடி வலம்வந்தான் கணன்.

“என்றும் மங்காத பக்தியை அருள்வீர்!”
குன்றாத பக்தியை அளித்தார் – மேலும்

மூவுலகையும் வெல்லும் வல்லமையும்,
தேவர்களைத் தோற்கடிக்கும் திறமையும்,

நீண்ட ஆயுளையும் பெற்றபின் கணன்
மீண்டும் வந்தான் தன் பெற்றோரிடம்.

மணம் முடித்தனர் தக்க பெண்ணை;
கணனுக்கு முடி சூட்டினான் அபிஜித்.

பரமசிவன் வரத்தால் உலகை வெல்ல
அரசன் ஆனவுடன் விரும்பினான் கணன்.

குமாரர்கள் சூலபாணி, சுலபன் மற்றும்
அமைச்சருடன் சென்றான் திக் விஜயம்!

நாற்படையுடன் வந்த கணனை எதிர்க்க
நாற்றிசையில் எவரும் துணியவில்லை.

சென்ற இடமெல்லாம் நல்ல வரவேற்பு!
செல்வங்களை வாரித் தந்தனர் மன்னர்.

மண்ணுலகு முழுவதையும் வென்ற கணன்
விண்ணுலகை நோக்கிப் பயணித்தான்.

VINAAYAKA PURAANAM 2

#34d. Digvjayam

The Deva ran to Kailash. The swargga had became very hot. They begged Siva, “Oh Lord! Please save us from the yoga agni created by a man who is doing severe penance towards you.”

Siva appeared to GaNan with Uma on Nandi vaahanam. GaNan was thrilled and praised his god. He prayed for undiminished Bhakti. He got several boons from Siva. He would win over the three words. He would defeat the Deva and he had a very long lifespan.

GaNan returned to his parents very pleased with his boons. Abhijit got him married to a suitable princess. GaNan was made the new king. GaNan wanted to conquer the three worlds. He set out on a digvijayam along with his sons SoolapaaNi , Sulabhan and his ministers.

No one dared to oppose the chaturanga sena of GaNan. The kings welcomed GaNan and showered gifts on him. After conquering the earth, GaNan set out towards the Heaven.

4#16a. சில கேள்விகள்

“விரும்பி வந்த தேவ கன்னியரை அங்கிருந்து
திரும்பிச் செல்ல வைத்தானா நாராயணன்?”

ஜனமேஜயனின் ஐயத்துக்கு வியாச முனிவர்
மனம் தெளியும்படி விரிவாக பதிலளித்தார்.

“சபதம் செய்துள்ளோம் நாங்கள் இருவரும்;
சபலம் அடைவதில்லை இப்பிறவியில் என.

நாட்டம் இல்லை காமக் கேளிக்கைகளில்!
நடக்குமா எதுவும் காம வேட்கையின்றி?

காரியம் ஆண் பெண் சங்கமம் என்றால்
காரணம் ஆகும் அதற்குக் காம வேட்கை .

மீண்டும் பிறப்பேன் நான் இந்த பூமியில்;
வேண்டும் சுகம் தருவேன் நான் அப்போது.

தருமமும் சபதமும் மீறப் படமாட்டா.
விருப்பமும் நிறைவேறும் அப்போது!

இரக்கம் கொள்ளுங்கள் சிறிது என் மேல்;
விரத பங்கம் ஏற்படுத்தாமல் செல்லுங்கள்.

இருபத்தெட்டாவது சதுர்யுக துவாபரத்தில்
அரசகுமாரிகளாக அவதரிப்பீர்கள் நீங்கள்.

ஆசை மனைவியர் ஆவீர்கள் எனக்கு
நேசம் காட்டுவேன் மனம் குளிரும்படி!”

திரும்பிச் சென்றனர் தேவ கன்னியர்
விரும்பிக் கூறினர் இந்திரனிடம் இதை.

தேவ கன்னியரைக் கண்டும் மயங்காததால்
தேவேந்திரன் வியந்தான் வைராக்கியத்தை.

4#16a. Some more questions

“What did Naarayanan do to make those divine damsels return to the heaven?” Janamejayan asked sage Vaasaa. The sage replied, “Naaraayanan told those apsaras this:

I and my brother have sworn to celibacy and will remain staunch brahmachaaris throughout our lives. We are not interested in love or lust. Nothing can happen between us unless the desire is there.

If union of a man and woman is the effect, the cause of that effect is the desire for the union. I will be born again in this world in the Dwaapara yugam in the twenty eighth chatur yugam.

At that time all of you will be born as the Princesses. I will marry all of you and shower my love and affection on you. But please do not disturb my decision or vrata to remain celibate in this birth.”

The apsaras went back to the swraggam. They told Indra the recent happenings. Indra wondered at the vairaagaym of the two young bothers who did not get infatuated with the divine damsels.

23. அகத்திய முனிவர்.

உயர்ந்த விந்திய மலையை அடக்கிட
உயரம் குறைந்த குறுமுனியை நாடினர்.

கதிரவன் முதலோர் முனிவரை நினைத்து
துதிபல செய்துப் போற்றிப் புகழ்ந்தனர்;

தமக்கு இட்ட விண்ணப்பத்தை ஏற்றுத்
தாமே தேவர் குறை தீர்க்க எண்ணினார்.

சிவனை நினைந்தார் குறுமுனி அகத்தியர்.
சிவன் வந்தான் காளை ஊர்தியில் ஏறி.

“விந்திய மலையின் ஆணவத்தை அடக்க
வேண்டிய வலிமை எனக்கு அருள்வாய்!”

“விந்தியத்தின் ஆணவத்தை அடக்கியபின்
விளங்குவாய் நீ பொதியமலையின் மீது!”

“தென்திசை சென்றபின்னர் உம்மை வழிபட
நன்நீரைத் தந்து அருளவேண்டும் ஐயனே!”

திருக்கயிலையில் இருந்த ஏழு நதிகளில்
பெருமை மிகுந்த காவிரியை அளித்தார்.

விரும்பிப் பெற்ற காவிரி கமண்டலத்தில்!
மேருவிலிருந்து செல்லலானார் பொதிகை.

KANDA PURAANAM - ASURA KAANDAM

2 (# 23). Sage Agasthya.

To check the haughty behavior of the Vindya giri, devas sought the help of the vaamana roopa sage Agasthya.

The Sun, the moon and the other planets prayed to the sage to help them. Agasthya accepted their request. He contemplated on Lord Siva, who appeared seated on his bull Nandhi devan.

“Lord! Please give me the ability to control the arrogant Vindya giri.”

Lord replied, “After conquering Vindhya giri, you will reside in the mountain Pothigai”

” Lord! I will need pure water to perform my daily rituals and puja.”

Siva presented him with one the seven rivers flowing in Kailash called the river Kaveri.

The river was placed in the kamandalam of the rishi and he set out towards the Pothigai giri.

4e. இந்திரன்


விண்ணுலகு அடைந்ததும் கைப்பற்றினான்,
வியத்தகு குதிரையான உச்சைஸ்ரவத்தை.

பதறி அடித்துக்கொண்டு வந்தான் இந்திரன்,
இதர தேவர்களுடன் செய்தியை அறிந்ததும்!

சதுரங்க சேனையுடன் தயாராக இருந்தவனிடம்,
மெதுவாகச் சொன்னான், “குதிரையைத் தருவாய்.”

தேவலோகத்தை வெல்லுவதற்கு வந்தவன்
கேவலம் நல்ல வார்த்தைகளுக்கு மசிவானா?

“பரியைத் தரவும் மாட்டேன்; உன்னுடைய
கரியையும் கைப்பற்றப் போகிறேன் நான்!”

சினம் மேலிட்டது இந்திரனுக்கு! தன்னுடைய
இனத்தவரைப் போரிடும்படிப் பணித்தான்.

கோரமான ஒரு யுத்தம் தொடங்கியது;
மோதிக் கொண்டனர் இரு தரப்பினரும்!

கணன் அருகே வந்தவுடன் இந்திரன்
கணனைத் தாக்கினான் குலிசத்தால்.

விழுந்து விட்டான் மூர்ச்சித்து கணன்;
எழுந்து கொண்டான் சுதாரித்து உடன்!

தரையில் விழுந்து விட்டன ஆயுதங்கள்;
தரையில் இறங்கி விட்டனர் அவர்களும்.

ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் என்ற போர் முறைப்படி
ஒருவருடன் ஒருவர் கை கலந்தனர் அங்கு.

பொறி பறக்கக் குட்டினான் கணன் இந்திரனை;
பொறி கலங்கி அமர்ந்து விட்டான் இந்திரன்!

“தேவலோகத்தை நீயே ஆண்டு வரலாம்!
வேலைகள் தொடரலாம் என்றும் போல்!

என் கட்டளைக்கு அடிபணியும் வரையில்
என்னால் இல்லை உனக்கு ஒரு தொல்லை”

VINAAYAKA PURAANAM - 2

#34e. Indra

As soon as GaNan reached the swargga, he took hold of Indra’s wonderful horse Uchchaisravas. Indra came running with the other Deva the moment he heard this news. He told GaNan who was ready with his army, “Release my horse!”

GaNan laughed and said, “I am going to take hold of your elephant Airaavat also”

Indra became very angry and ordered his army to fight with GaNan’s army. A terrific war ensued immediately. When GaNan moved in closer, Indra attacked him with his kulisam. GaNan fell faint but managed to get up immediately.

Their weapons had fallen on the ground. They too stood on the ground and they started to fight one to one.

GaNan rapped Indra real hard on his head. Indra sat down in a state of shock. GaNan told him, “You my continue to rule the swargga as usual. You may go about your job as usual. As long as you remember to obey me, there will be no trouble for you from me”

4#16b. மேலும் ஐயங்கள்

“மேலும் ஐயங்கள் எழுகின்றன குருதேவா!
வேணும் அவற்றுக்கும் ஏற்ற விளக்கங்கள்.

பலமிக்க மகன்களைப் பெற்ற தேவகி வசுதேவன்
பரிதவித்தனர் கம்சனின் சிறைச் சாலையில்.

சிறையில் பிறந்த கண்ணன் வளருவானேன்
இரவோடு இரவாக கோகுலம் சென்று?

கொன்றது ஏன் கம்சன் ஆறு சிசுக்களை?
சென்றது ஏன் கண்ணன் மதுரையை விட்டு?

கோபம் அடைந்த முனிவரின் சாபத்தால்
நாசம் அடைவானேன் கண்ணனின் குலம்?

பூபாரம் குறைய அவதரித்த கிருஷ்ணன்
பூமியை விடுத்தது ஏன் நரனைப் போல?

கள்வர்களிடம் அடிபட்டு உதைபட்டுக்
கொள்ளை அடிக்கப் பட்டனர் மனைவியர்.

தவம், தானம், தர்மம் இவற்றில் சிறந்த
தரமான மனிதரை அழித்தான் கண்ணன்.

எண்ணினானா அவர்களைப் பாவிகள் என?
எண்ணினானா கள்வரைப் புண்ணியர் என?

பதிவிரதைகள் கண்ணனின் மனைவியர்
பரிதவித்தனரே மான பங்கம் அடைந்து!

வசுதேவன் புத்திரசோகம் அடைந்தது ஏன்?
சுகுமாரன் அபிமன்யு போரில் பலியானது ஏன்?

ஏன் கிருஷ்ணன் மாற்றவில்லை இவற்றை?
ஏன் கண்ணன் அடிமையனான் உக்கிரசேனனுக்கு”

4#16b. More and more doubts

King Janamejayan asked some more doubts to sage Vyaasaa now.
“Devaki and Vasudev were blessed with strong powerful sons. Why did they have to suffer in Kamsa’s prison?

Why did Krishna born in the prison have to grow up in Gokulam in secrecy? Why did Kamsa kill six new born babies?

Why did Krishna go to Dwaraka from Maduraa? Why was Krishna’s race destroyed by the curse of an enraged sage?

Krishna was born to reduce the population of the world. Why did he leave the world like any other ordinary mortal? Krishna’s wives were beaten up and insulted by a band of thieves.

Krishna did nothing about this but he killed many good persons in the Mahaa Bhaarata war. Why did Vaudev suffer the pangs of separation from his sons?

Why was Abhimanyu sacrificed in the war? Krishna could have changed all these happenings if he had wished to. Why did he not do it then?”

24. கிரௌஞ்சமலை.

தூயபிரான் சொற்படிச் செல்லும் முனிவர்
மாயாபுரி நகரை நெருங்கி விட்டார்.

மாயங்கள் செய்யும் அவுணன் கிரௌஞ்சன்
மாயமலையாகிச் செல்லும் வழிமறித்தான்.

வியந்து நின்றார் அகத்திய முனிவர் அந்த
வினோத மலையை எதிரே கண்டவுடனே.

தன்னுள்ளே அவரைச் சிறை செய்ய எண்ணித்
தானே ஒரு வழியைக் காட்டினான் அவுணன்.

வேறு வழி எதையும் காணாத அம்முனிவர்
வேறு வழியின்றி அதனுள்ளே நுழைந்தார்.

குகையும் தொடர்ந்து வழி விட்டது – பிறகு
குகையின் வழி தடைபட்டது முற்றிலுமாக!

மூடிய குகையில் எப்படி உண்டாயின
இடியும், காற்றும், மழையும், தீயும்?

அவுணனின் மாயையைக் கண்டு சினந்து
அவுணமலையைத் தடியால் அடித்தார்.

“சொந்த வடிவம் தொலைந்து மலையாகி நில்!
கந்தன் கைவேல் உன்னைப் பிளக்கும் வரை!”

கையால் நீரை அள்ளித் தெளித்து அவுணப்
பொய்யோனின் மாயத்தைப் போக்கினார்.

அன்று தொட்டு ஒரு மலையாக நின்றவனை
இன்று உன் கைவேல் பிளந்தது முருகா!

KANDA PURAANAM - ASURA KAANDAM

2 (#24). Krounja Giri.

Agasthya went southwards to Pothigai giri as ordered by Lord Siva. He reached Maayaapuri – the capital city of Taaraka asuran.

Krounjan, an asuran with many tricks up his sleeves, transformed himself into a mountain and blocked the path of the sage.

Agasthya was wonder-struck at the sight of this strange mountain. The mountain wanted to imprison the sage inside its womb.

It showed a solitary path to enter into it. The sage entered into the path which took him deeper inside.

Then he came to a dead end. There came bolts of thunder, a severe storm, heavy rain and burning fire in that closed mountain.

The sage realized that they were the trick of the aursan. He hit the mountain with his staff and cursed it thus.

“You will lose your original form and stand here as a mountain until the spear of Skandan destroys you completely!”

He sprinkled some water and destroyed the power of the asura turned mountain. Since than he had stood here as this mountain.

Today your spear has destroyed him completely oh Lord Muruga!”
Thus spoke the Deva guru Bruhaspathi.

4f. கபிலர்

சத்தியலோகம் சென்றான் கணன்;
சத்தியமாகக் கோலாகல வரவேற்பு!

“வெற்றி கொள்ள முடியாதவனோடு
வெற்றுப் போர் புரிவது எதற்கு?” என

அள்ளித் தந்தார் அநேகப் பரிசுகளை;
உள்ளம் களிக்கும்படி பிரம்மதேவன்.

வைகுண்டமும் வரவேற்றது கணனை;
வெகுமானித்தது அரிய பல பரிசுகளால்.

மூவுலகையும் வென்ற பின்னர் கணன்
முன்போலவே நல்லாட்சி புரிந்தான்.

நற்பெயர் விளங்கியது நாற்றிசையிலும்,
நற்பணிகள் தொடர்ந்தன நாடு முழுவதும்.

துஷ்ட மிருகங்கள் தொல்லை தந்தன!
கஷ்டம் அளித்தன வாழும் மனிதருக்கு.

நடமாட வசதியாக அவற்றை அழிக்கத்
திடமாக விண்ணப்பித்தனர் வேடர்கள்.

வேட்டையாடினான் அவ்விலங்குகளைக்
காட்டுக்குச் சென்று படை வீரர்களுடன்!

வேட்டைக்கு அலைந்து திரிந்ததால் நீர்
வேட்கை அதிகரித்துத் துன்புற்றனர்.

அலைந்து திரிந்தனர் நீரைத் தேடி;
அழகிய சோலை கண்களில் பட்டது!

தெளிந்த நதியில் நீராடி மகிழ்ந்தனர்;
களைப்பு நீங்க அமர்ந்தனர் அங்கேயே.

ஆசிரமம் அமைந்திருந்தது சோலையில்;
வாசம் செய்தனர் கபிலரும், சீடர்களும்.

நீர் எடுக்க வந்த சீடன் கண்டான் அங்கு
நீராடிக் களைப்பாறும் படைவீரர்களை.

ஓடிச் சென்று சொன்னான் முனிவரிடம்;
தேடிவந்து அழைத்தான் அந்த ஆசிரமத்துக்கு.

VINAAYAKA PURAANAM 2

#34f. Kapilar

GaNan went to Sathya lokam. He was given a warm welcome. Brahma knew that GaNan was invincible and did not want to fight with him. He showered rare gifts and honored GaNan.

Vaikuntam also extended a warm welcome to GaNan since it was useless to try to defeat him. Vishnu presented GaNan with many rare and rich gifts. After conquering all the three worlds, GaNan ruled his kingdom as before.

His fame and name spread in all the directions. He was good king and did many good things to his citizens.

The wild animals in the forest threatened the hunters living there. They requested GaNan to make their lives easier and safer by killing those wild animals.

GaNan left with his soldiers to the forest. They hunted down all the wild animals. They became very thirsty and tired. They looked for fresh water and found a beautiful garden. It had sparkling clear river running through it.

GaNan and his soldiers took a refreshing bath in the cool water and sat on the bank to rest for a while. There was an ashram in the garden it belonged to the sage Kapilar. He lived there with this disciples.

One of his disciples came for water. He was excited to see the king and his soldiers there. He ran to inform his guru of this. He came running again to invite GaNan and his soldiers to the ashram of Kapilar.

4#16c. மேலும் மேலும் ஐயங்கள்

“பாண்டவர்கள் துன்பம் அடைந்தது ஏன்?
பத்தினி திரௌபதி துன்பம் அடைந்தது ஏன்?

ஒற்றை ஆடையில், மாத விடாய்க் காலத்தில்
பற்றி இழுத்து வரப்பட்டாள் ராஜ தர்பாருக்கு.

கூந்தலை இழுத்தான் கொடிய துச்சாதனன்;
சேலையை இழுத்தான் கொடிய துச்சாதனன்!

பலவந்தமாகக் கடத்திச் சென்றான் சிந்துராஜன்;
பலவந்தம் செய்ய முயன்றான் பாவி கீசகன்.

அநியாயமாகக் கொன்றான் அஸ்வத்தாமன்
அயர்ந்து உறங்கிய அவள் பிள்ளைகளை.

சம நோக்குக் கொண்டிருந்த நர நாராயணர்
சமரில் குணம் மாறுபட்டது எதற்காக?

வரும் சுக, துக்கம் மனிதர்களுக்கு என்றால்
வருவது ஏன் சுக, துக்கம் இறைவனுக்கும்?

குறுக்கு வழிகளில் கிருஷ்ணன் சென்றதேன்?
மறைந்து துவாரகைக்குச் சென்றதேன்?

தெய்வத்தன்மை வாய்ந்த கிருஷ்ணன்
செய்தது எல்லாம் தர்மம் அல்லவே!

ஐவரின் பத்தினியான பஞ்சாலியை
வைவதில்லை உலகம் குற்றம் கருதி!

ஐவரும் அனுபவித்தனர் அவளிடம் இன்பம்
ஐந்தறிவு உள்ள விலங்கினம் போலவே!

ராஜ பத்தினிகள் உற்பத்தி செய்தனர் – தம்
ராஜ குமாரரைப் பரபுருஷர் உதவியுடன்!

எதுவுமே எனக்கு ஏற்புடையன அல்ல.
புதிர்களைப் புரியச் செய்வீர் குருதேவா!”

4#16c More and more doubts!

Janamejayan fired at sage Vyaasaa more and more doubts which were riddling his active mind.

“Why did the PaaNdavaas have to suffer so much? Why did their patni Droupati have to suffer so much? She got dragged to the Durbar filled with menfolk, when she was in her monthly period and was dressed in a single piece of clothing. She was dragged by her hair first and then by her dress by the wicked Dushasan.

Sindu Raajan abducted her. Keechagan tried to rape and molest her. Her five sons, the Upa PaaNdavaas, were mercilessly killed by Aswathaama, when they were in deep slumber.

Nara and Naaraayan possessed equanimity but during the war thy were transformed. Sukham and Dukham are in the destiny of man but why do Gods also suffer from dukham and enjoy sukham like any mortal?

Why did Krishna do several unjust things? Why did he go to Dwaaraka from Maduraa secretly? Krishna is the amsam of God VishNu but all he did is neither fair nor just.

Paanchaali is not ridiculed for being the wife of five men. All the five brothers shared her like the animals which lack the power of discretion.

The queens and wives of kings produced sons outside wedlock with the help of other men. I am not be to accept or digest any of these weird things. Oh Guru! please clarify my confusions and grant me peace of mind!“

25. விந்திய மலை

திருத்தலங்களைத் தரிசித்த அகத்தியர்
கருவம் மிகுந்த விந்தியத்தைக் கண்டார்.

“பொதிய மலை செல்ல வேண்டும் யான்
ஒதுங்கி வழி விடுவாய் விந்திய மலையே!”

“சந்திரனும், சூரியனும் செல்லாதபடி
விந்தையாக வளர்ந்து நிற்கின்றேன்.

எந்தக் காரணத்துக்கும் வழி விடேன்!
வந்த வழியே திரும்பிச் சென்றுவிடு!”

குறுமுனி நகைத்தார் இம்மொழி கேட்டு.
இறையின் திருவடியை நெஞ்சில் பதித்தார்.

நீண்ட கரத்தை மலை உச்சிமேல் வைத்து
மீண்டும் அழுத்தினார் மலையைக் கீழே!

பாதாளத்துக்கு இறங்கி விட்டது மலை.
ஆதி சேடன் நிலையை அடைந்தது அது.

புத்தி கெட்டது ஆணவம் கொண்டதும்!
புத்தி வந்தது அதன் ஆணவம் அழிந்ததும்!

“பிழையைப் பொறுத்து என்னை மன்னியும்.
பழைய நிலையை நான் அடைவது எப்போது?”

“மீண்டும் நான் இந்த வழிவே வரும்போது
மீண்டும் நீ உன் உயர்நிலை அடைவாய்!”

விந்தியம் மறைந்து விட்டது நிலத்துக்குள்.
விண்ணவர் மலர் மழையைப் பொழிந்தனர்.

கையைச் சுருக்கிக் கொண்டார் அகத்தியர்.
பையச் செல்லலானார் பொதிகை மலைக்கு.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

KANDA PURAANAM - ASURA KANDAM

2 (#25). Vindhya giri pushed down.

Agasthya visited the holy places on his way and reached the Vindhya giri. “I am on my way to the Pothigai giri. Please let me go past you!”.

Vindhya replied arrogantly,” I stop the passage of the sun and the moon. I will not give way to you and let you pass by. Go back to where you are coming from!”

Agasthya was undaunted by this reply. He stretched his hand and placed it on the top of the Vindhya giri. He pushed it down with all his might.

Now the Vindhya descended to the paatala and was in the same level as Adhisesha. It felt humiliated and became humbler. It begged to the sage,

“Please forgive me and my arrogance. When will I regain my original place of glory?”

“When I come back here again, you will rise to your original place of glory” the sage replied.

Vindhya was now in the paataala. The devas rained flowers down from the sky. The sage shrunk his hand to its original size and went on his way to Podhigai giri.
