ANYONE with two straight hands and one crooked mind can do it! :)
 
I have decided to wind up Devi Bhaagavatam with the tenth skanda.

The eleventh and the twelfth skandas do not speak of the glory of Devi.

They speak of the glory of many other things.

Since my aim to glorify Devi I will complete the blogs with the tenth

skandam. That means there are eaxactly 108 poems to be typed and posted

along with their translation in English.


WILL they appear here??? :decision:

I shall wait for the divine guidance!!! :pray:

(What with stalkers and pouncers operating in groups

and that too underground away from other people's sight) !!!

I gained a few hours of extra free time!

I could type and post seven poems today!!

I could type and post seven translations today!!!

9# 31. யமாஷ்டகம்

“தர்மராஜன் என்ற பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்!

தவம் செய்து சூரிய தேவன் பெற்றார் உம்மை
தர்ம தேவதையை ஆராதனை செய்த பின்னர்.

சமன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்!

சாட்சியாக உள்ளீர் சகலமான நிகழ்வுகளுக்கும்;
சமத்துவம் கொண்டுள்ளீர் சகல ஜீவன்களிடமும்.

யமன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்
இறுதி அழிவை நீர் உண்டாக்குவதால்!

கிருதாந்தகன் என்ற பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்!
காலத்துக்கேற்ப ஜீவராசிகளை நீர் அழிப்பதால்.

தண்டதரன் என்ற பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்!
தண்டாயுதத்தால் பாவிகளைச் சரி செய்வதால்!

யமன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றுள்ளீர் நமஸ்காரம்!
கர்ம பலன் தரும் ஜிதேந்த்ரியர்! பிரம்ம நிஷ்டர்!

புண்ணிய மித்திரன் என்ற பெயர் பெற்றீர் நமஸ்காரம்!
புண்ணிய சீலர்களுக்கு நீர் கண்ணிய நண்பர் ஆவதால்!

பிரம்ம அம்சமும், பிரம்ம தேஜஸ்ஸும் பெற்று
பிரம்மத்தைத் தியானிக்கும் உமக்கு நமஸ்காரம்!”

பலஸ்ருதி

நீங்கிவிடும் யம பயம் அதிகாலையில் துதித்தால்;
நீங்கி விடும் செய்த சகல விதமான பாவங்களும்!

மஹா பாவிகள் படித்து வந்தால் நரகத்தில்
தேஹ தண்டனைகள் விதிக்கப்பட மாட்டா.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
9#31. YamAshtakam

“O DharmarAjan! The Sun practiced hard austerities and worshiped Dharma Devan. Dharma Himself was born as the son of SooryA. You are incarnation of Dharma. So I bow down to You!

You are the Witness to all the JeevAs! You treat them all equally! Your other name is Samana. I bow down to You!

Sometimes you take away the lives of jeevas according the time prevailing then. Hence your other name is KritAnta. My Obeisance to You!

You wield the rod to bestow justice and pronounce sentence on the sinners. You destroy the sins of the JeevAs! Your other name is Dandadhara! My obeisance to you!

If you wish to destroy the universe, no one can stop you! You are known as KAlA! My obeisance to you!

You are an ascetic; you are devoted to BrahmA; you have perfect control over your IndriyAs; and you are the distributor of the fruits of Karmas to the JeevAs; You are called Yama since you rule over your senses. I bow down to You!

You are delighted with yourself! You are omniscient! You torment the sinners but you are a good friend of the Virtuous persons. Hence your name is PuNya Mitra. I bow down to you.

You are born as a part of BrahmA! The tejas of BrahmA shines in your body. You meditate on Para BrahmA. You are the Lord. Obeisance to you!”

He who recites these eight hymns to YamA early in the morning is freed of the fear of death. He becomes free of all the sins committed by him.

Even if he is a horrible sinner, he will not suffer from physical punishments in the hell where he may fall.

I am just ~150 poems away from my target.
So the posting of Devi Bhaagavatam will be resumed
in November/ Deceeber as early as possible-
after the completion of the remaining skandas.
 
For the sake of those who firmly believe that
women are good enough only for food and bed!
You will be shocked to know that the Almighty
ParamAtmA gets dissolved in Prakruti Devi
(in other words Mother Nature) during PraLaya -
AFTER everything else has got dissolved in HIM!
So it the Prakruti Devi who exists always ...
before the creation, during the creation
and after the dissolution due to PraLaya!

” சொல்வது அரிது தேவியின் மேன்மைகளை
சொல்ல முயல்வது பெரும் கடலை நீந்துவது.

ஆயிரம் நாவு படைத்த ஆதிசேஷனாலும்;
ஆறு நாவு படைத்த அந்த ஆறுமுகனாலும்;

ஐந்து நாவு படைத்த மஹேஸ்வரனாலும்;
நான்கு நாவு படைத்த பிரம்ம தேவனாலும்;

மஹா விஷ்ணுவாலும், நான்கு வேதங்களாலும்;
மஹா கணபதியாலும், யோகீந்திரர்களாலும்;

சொல்ல முடியாது பதினாறில் ஒரு பங்கும் கூட
சொல்ல முடியாது கலைமகள் வாணியாலும் கூட.

இயலவில்லை சனத் குமார சகோதரர்களால்;
இயலவில்லை கபிலரால், சூரிய தேவனால்!

தியானிக்கிறார்கள் திரி மூர்த்திகள் தேவியை
துணியவில்லை தேவி மேன்மைகளை விவரிக்க!

சொல்லும் திறன் இல்லாத போதும் மேன்மையால்
வெல்லும் தேவியின் பக்தி சகல சித்திகளையும்.

அறிவார் பரம ஞானி தேவியின் சிறப்பைச் சிறிது
அறிவார் பிரமம் தேவன் அதனிலும் சற்று அதிகம்

அறிவார் விநாயகர் அதனிலும் சற்று அதிகம்
அறிவார் முருகன் அதனிலும் சற்று அதிகம்

அறிவார் சிவபிரான் அதை விடச் சற்று அதிகம்
அறிவார் சிவபிரான் அனைவரிலும் நன்றாக!

உபதேசித்தார் சிவபெருமான் தருமருக்கு;

“தேவியின் சிறப்பை முற்றிலும் அறிந்தவள்
தேவி மட்டுமே என்பது அதிசயமான உண்மை.

அளக்க முடியாது விரிந்து பரந்த வானத்தை!
அளக்க முடியாது விரிந்து பரந்த சிறப்புக்களை!

ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் ஆத்மா சர்வேஸ்வரன்;
ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் காரணம் சர்வேஸ்வரன்;

ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் முதல்வர் சர்வேஸ்வரன்;
ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் பரிபாலகர் சர்வேஸ்வரன்;

ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் வித்தாக சர்வேஸ்வரன்;
ஆவார் அனைத்துக்கும் அப்பற்பட்டவராக அவர்.

நித்திய ரூபி, நித்தியானந்தர் ஆவார் சர்வேஸ்வரன்
நிர்குணர் ஆவார், நிராகாரர் ஆவார் சர்வேஸ்வரன்.

நிரங்குசர் ஆவார், ஆதார புருஷர் சர்வேஸ்வரன்
பரமாத்மாவின் சக்தி ஆவாள் மாஹா மாயை

அக்னியும் உஷ்ணமும் போலக் கலந்துள்ளனர்
பரம புருஷனும், பிரகிருதி தேவியும் ஒன்றாக!

சச்சிதானந்த வடிவானவள் பிரகிருதி தேவி – அவள்
பக்தருக்கு அருள் பாலிக்கவே உருவெடுக்கின்றாள்.”

“பிரமன் சிருஷ்டிக்கின்றான் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி!
கர்மங்களை, அனுபவங்களை நிச்சயிக்கின்றாள் தேவி!

வழங்குகின்றார் விஷ்ணு பிரான் கர்ம பலன்களை;
வழங்கப்படுகின்றன அவை தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.

காலாக்னி ருத்திரர் சம்ஹரிக்கின்றார் சிருஷ்டியை;
காலாக்னி ருத்திரர் சம்ஹரிப்பது தேவி ஆணைப்படி.

சுழல்கின்றான் வாயுதேவன் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.
அழல் வீசுகின்றான் சூரியன் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.

குளிர்விக்கின்றான் வருணன் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி;
பெய்விக்கின்றான் மழை இந்திரன் தேவி ஆணைப்படி;

பணி புரிகின்றான் காலதேவன் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி,
பணி புரிகின்றனர் திக்பாலகர் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.

சுழல்கின்றது ராசிச் சக்கரம் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி;
பழுக்கின்றன இனிய கனிகள் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.

நீரிலும், நிலத்திலும் வாழும் அனைத்து ஜீவராசிகள்
ஆருயிர் வாழ்வதும் ஆகும் தேவியின் ஆணைப்படி.

தாங்குகின்றான் ஆதிசேஷன் பூமியைத் தன் ஆயிரம்
தலைகளால் தேவி அவனுக்கு இட்ட ஆணையின்படி!”

9#38e. பிராகிருத பிரளயம்

பிரம்மனின் ஒரு நாளுக்கு சமம் ஆகும்
இருபத்தெட்டு இந்திரரின் ஆயுட்காலம்

முப்பது நாட்கள் சேர்ந்தது ஒரு மாதம்;
பன்னிரண்டு மாதங்கள் ஒரு வருடம்.

பிரம்மனின் ஆயுள் நூறாண்டுகள் – இது
கிருஷ்ணபிரான் கண்ணிமைக்கும் காலம்.

பிரம்மனின் ஆயுட்காலம் முடிந்தவுடனே
ஹரியும் மூடிக்கொள்வான் தன் கண்களை!

பிராகிருதப் பிரளயம் என்பது இதுவே ஆகும்
சாராசரம் அனைத்தும் அழிந்துவிடும் அப்போது!

பிராகிருதப் பிரளயத்தில் அழிந்து விடும் சிருஷ்டி;
பிரளயத்தில் ஒடுங்கி விடும் மொத்த சிருஷ்டியும்.

ஒடுங்குவான் பிரம்மன் விஷ்ணுவின் நாபியில்;
ஒடுங்குவான் விஷ்ணு கிருஷ்ணனின் இடப்புறம்!

ஒடுங்குவர் சக்தியர் எல்லோரும் மூலப் பிரகிருதியில்;
ஒடுங்குவாள் மூலப் பிரகிருதி கிருஷ்ணனின் புத்தியில்.

ஒடுங்குவான் ஸ்கந்தன் கிருஷ்ணனின் மார்பினில்;
ஒருங்குவான் ஆனைமுகன் கிருஷ்ணனின் புஜத்தில்.

ஒடுங்குவர் லக்ஷ்மியின் அம்சங்கள் லக்ஷ்மியில்;
ஒடுங்குவாள் லக்ஷ்மி ராதா தேவியின் உடலில்!

ஒடுங்குவர் கோபியர் ராதா தேவியின் உடலில்!
ஒடுங்குவாள் ராதை கிருஷ்ணின் பிராணனில்!

ஒடுங்குவாள் சாவித்ரி சரஸ்வதி தேவியில்;
ஒடுங்கும் வேதங்கள் சரஸ்வதி தேவியில்.

ஒடுங்குவாள் சரஸ்வதி கிருஷ்ணின் நாவினில்;
ஒடுங்குவர் கோபர் கிருஷ்ணின் ரோம கூபத்தில்!

ஒடுங்கும் வாயு கிருஷ்ணின் பிராண வாயுவில்;
ஒடுங்குவான் அக்னி கிருஷ்ணனின் ஜடராக்னியில்!

ஒடுங்குவான் வருணன் கிருஷ்ணனின் நா நுனியில்;
ஒடுங்குவர் வைஷ்ணவர் கிருஷ்ணின் பாதங்களில்!

ஒருங்குவர் சின்ன விராட்கள் பெரிய விராட்டில்;
ஒடுங்குவார் பெரிய விராட் கிருஷ்ணன் உடலில்!

சிருஷ்டி நடக்கின்றது கிருஷ்ணன் கண் திறக்கையில்!
சிருஷ்டி அழிகின்றது கிருஷ்ணன் கண் இமைக்கையில்

கிருஷ்ண பரமாத்மாவே ஐக்கியம் ஆகின்றார்
பிரளய காலத்தில் பிரகிருதில் ஒடுங்கி மறைந்து!.

இறுதியில் மிகுந்திருப்பது பிரகிருதி ஒன்று மட்டுமே
ஆதியில் சத் ரூபமாக இருந்ததும் பிரகிருதி மட்டுமே

ஆதியிலும் இருந்து, அந்தந்திலும் மிகுந்திருக்கும்
ஆதி காரணியின் புகழைப் புகலவும் இயலுமோ?

இயலாது தேவியின் பெருமைகளைப் புகலுவது!
இயலும் தேவியிடம் அளவற்ற பக்தியைப் புரிவது.

தேவிபக்தன் விரும்புவதில்லை உத்தம முக்தியையும்!
தேவிபக்தன் விரும்புவான் பக்தி செய்வதை மட்டுமே !

பக்தித் தொண்டாற்றுவது முக்தி தரும் ஆனந்த்ம்;
பக்தி தரும் ஆனநதம் பரமாத்மாவின் தொண்டு !

பக்திக்கு விரோதமானது சுக போகங்களில் விருப்பம்;
பக்திக்கு நிஷேதமானது புரிந்திடும் காமிய கர்மங்கள்.

பற்றற்று பரமாத்மாவின் தொண்டாற்றுவதே
நற் கருமமும் ஆகும்; தத்துவ ஞானமும் ஆகும்;

ஆசிகள் தந்து கணவனை உயிர்ப்பித்தான் யமன்
ஆணையிட்டான் இருப்பிடம் திரும்பிச் செல்லுமாறு

அழுதாள் சாவித்திரி அந்தப் பிரிவற்றமையினால்!
தொழுதாள் சாவித்திரி தர்மராஜனின் பாதங்களை!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
Amidst all odds and enmities,
amidst the travels and taunts,
I have just completed writing
the remaining three Skandas
Of Devi Bhaagavatam (10 to12). :)

They add up to 100 poems exactly
compared to the 182 in skanda 9!!!

Whatever has to be learned through
a qualified Guru have been underplayed.

My aim is ONLY to bring out the glories of Devi.
I Hope I have done my best in my attempt!

I hope to able to post the remaining 21 poems
and translations in Skanda 9 before 30th inst.

I will be away for one week to attend a wedding.

I shall launch the 6th blog comprising of the
10th, 11th and 12th Skandas then.

The work was started in July 2013
and the total number of poems is 937.

I had roughly estimated it will be 900+
and my estimate proved to be correct.

read my mind and thoughts.
Or we remain connected by telepathy.
Here is one more proof.
The 6th Blog of Devi Bhaagavatam has been lunched.
I was amazed to see it highlighting Gayatree Devi
since the entire 12th Skanda is devoted to Gayatree Devi.
i never told about this to my DIL nor can she read Tamil
since she was born and brought up at Bombay
and has learned many other languages.
YET she had chosen the right image for the home page!

Posting of the new poems in it will commence from today.
 
The sixth blog in Devi Bhaagavatam will be completed on or before 25th Inst

by the Grace of Aanaimukhan, AaRumukhan and Devi ParAshakti.

I will be really happy to complete this massive work of

~940 poems and as many translations in less than 11 months.

Posting in the poem thread will resume as soon as this work gets completed!

I have just completed The Devi Bhaagavatam series

by completing the sixth blog ( of Skandas 10, 11 and 12)

I have included some portions on second thoughts -

which I had originally decided to omit -

being a MERE woman and hence by being

Not qualified to talk about GAyatree Mantra (???!!!)

But I felt the work will be incomplete without portraying

the greatness of Gayatree Devi and GAyatree Mantra.

So 15 more poems have been written and added during the

past few days.

The only catch is that I have NOT YET given the English

Tranlsation of all the 125 poems in Chapter 12.

This will be taken up from NOW and hopefully completed

during this week by Devi's grace. :pray:
