#17a. தக்ஷனின் யாகம்

தக்ஷப் பிரஜாபதி பிரமனின் மைந்தன்;
தவம் செய்தான் இவ்வரங்களைக் கோரி;

"தேவர்கள் அடிபணிய வேண்டும் எனக்கு;
தேவி உமை பிறக்க வேண்டும் மகளாக!"

பிறந்தாள் தேவி உமை தாட்சாயணியாக;
சிறந்தாள் கயிலை நாதன் மனைவியாக.

மகளைக் காணக் கயிலை சென்றான் தக்ஷன்
மகேஸ்வரன் மரியாதை தரவில்லை எழுந்து.

"மாமனாருக்கு மரியாதை தராத மருமகனா?"
மகேஸ்வரனிலும் உயர்ந்தவன் ஆவேன் நான்!"

யாகத்தைத் துவக்கினான் தக்ஷப் பிரஜாபதி.
யாவருக்கும் அழைப்பு சிவபிரானைத் தவிர

தாட்சாயணிக்கும் வரவில்லை அழைப்பு!
தாங்கவில்லை அவளுக்குத் தள்ளி வைத்தது.

தந்தைப் பாசம் உந்தித் தள்ளியது அவளை!
தந்தையின் யாகத்துக்குச் செல்ல வேண்டும்

"மதியாதார் வாயில் மிதியாமை நன்று
மதியணி நாதன் விளக்கிக் கூறினான்

அழையாதார் இல்லம் நாடிச் சென்றால்
அவமானம் தான் மிஞ்சும் என்றறிவாய்!"

"பிறந்த வீட்டுக்குச் செல்ல அழைப்பா?
அறிந்தவர் பேசும் பேச்சா இது நாதா?"

"சரியே நீ சொல்வது வெறும் நாட்களில்
அரிய யாகம் நடக்கும்போது அல்லவே!

பிடிவாதம் பிடித்தாள் தாட்சாயணி .
நடராசனால் தடுக்க இயலவில்லை.

கணவன் கட்டளையை மீறிச் சென்றாள்
கணவனை பழிக்கும் யாகத்தைக் காண!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

#17a. Daksha prajapati

Daksha prajapathi was Brahma's son. He did penance to get these two
boons. "The deva should obey me and Devi Uma must be born as my
daughter"

Uma was born as his daughter Daakhaaayani.. She married lord Siva.
Once Dakshan visited kailash. Siva did not pay respect to Dakshan. "A
son in law who won't show respect to his father in law? I shall
become greater than Siva himself"

Dakshan performed a yagna to belittle Siva and to get more powers. All
were invited to attend the yagna except Siva and Dakshayani.

Dakshayani wanted to attend the yagna even though neither she nor
Siva were invited . She argued to Siva that no one needed invitation
to visit one's parents.

Siva told her, "It is better not to step into the house where you are
not respected nor wanted. If you go there uninvited you will feel
slighted."

But Dakshayani was in no mood to listen and went there disregarding
Siva's advice.
 
#17b. தாக்ஷாயணி

தாக்ஷாயணியை வரவேற்கவில்லை எவரும்;
தாய் தந்தையரே காட்டினர் அதீத வெறுப்பை.

மெய்யாகியது கணவர் கூறிய வார்த்தைகள்;
பொய்யகியது மகள் மேல் கொண்ட பாசம்

பெரும் கோபம் கொண்டாள் உதாசீனத்தால்
அரும் சாபம் தந்தாள் தக்ஷ யாகசாலைக்கு.

"பேய்கள் நடமாடும் சுடலை ஆகட்டும் இது!"
போய்ச் சேர்ந்தாள் கயிலை பரமசிவனிடம்.

"கெடுப்பீர் தக்ஷனின் யாகத்தை!" என்றாள்.
எடுத்தான் பிறவி வீரபத்திரன் அக்கணமே.

சிவன் சினத்தில் உருவெடுத்த வீரபத்திரன்
சினத்துடன் விரைந்தான் யாகசாலைக்கு.

அழித்தான் யாகசாலையை முழுவதுமாக!
ஒழித்தான் யாகம் காண வந்தவர்களையும்!

தந்தார் ஈசன் சினம் தணிந்து ஆறிய பிறகு
அந்த மனிதர்களுக்கு மீண்டும் உயிர்பிச்சை.

ஆட்டுத் தலையைப் பெற்றான் தக்ஷன் - தன்
அபசாரம் என்றென்றும் நினைவிருக்கும்படி!

தாக்ஷாயணி வருந்தினாள் தக்ஷன் செயலால்;
தக்ஷன் தந்த உடலை விரும்பவில்லை சிறிதும்!

விடுத்தாள் தன் சரீரத்தை யோக அக்னியில்;
எடுத்தாள் வடிவு யோகினி பார்வதிதேவியாக;

வரித்தாள் பரமசிவனைத் தன் மணாளனாக;
விவரித்தாள் பர்வத ராஜனிடம் தன் மனதை;

"பிரானை மணந்து கொள்வதற்கு என்னென்ன
விரதங்கள் நான் இருக்கவேண்டும் தந்தையே?"

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#17b. Daakshaayani

No one was happy to see Dakshaayani there. No one welcomed her to the yaaga. Even her parents ignored her arrival. So what Lord Siva said had proved to be true and what she thought proved to be false.

She got very angry at being ignored thus. She gave a terrible saapam to the yaaga saala. "May this place become a burning ghat where ghosts roam around"

She went back to Kailash and told Siva, "Please destroy the Daksha Yagam". Siva created veerabdran out of his anger and ordered him to destroy this Daksh yagna. Veerabadran hurried to the yaaga saala and destroyed the place completely. He destroyed all the guests who were attending the yagna.

Siva cooled down soon and resurrected everyone who was killed by Veerabadran. Dakshan was fitted with the head of a goat - a gruesome reminder of his misbehaviour.

Dakshaayani did not wish to be identified as Dakshan's daughter. She wanted to drop down her body given by him. She burned her body in Yoga agni created by her and was born as Parvati Devi.

She wanted to marry Siva again. She told her heart's wish to her father Parvatha Rajan and asked him what were the vraths she should observe in order to marry Lord Siva and get her wishes fulfilled.
 
#17c . சதுர்த்தி விரதம்

ஆதிப் பரம்பொருள் ஆவார் விநாயகர்;
மூவர்க்கும் முதல்வர் ஆவர் விநாயகர்;

சதுர்த்தி விரதம் அனுஷ்டிப்பவர்கள்
சாதிப்பார்கள் உள்ளக் கிடக்கையை.

ஆவணி மாதம் பூர்வ பட்ச சதுர்த்தியில்
ஆரம்பிக்க வேண்டும் இந்த விரதத்தை.

மண்ணால் ஓர் உருவம் சமைக்கவேண்டும்;
பொன்னால் ஓர் உருவம் சமைக்க வேண்டும்;

பொற்கலசம் ஒன்றை அமைக்க வேண்டும்;
பற்றுடன் விரதத்தைத் தொடங்க வேண்டும்.

அடுத்தமாதம் சுக்கில பட்ச சதுர்த்தியில்
விடவேண்டும் மண் விநாயகரை நீரில்.

முப்பது நாளும் குறையாத பக்தியுடன்
தப்பாமல் விநாயகரைத் தொழவேண்டும்."

"இத்துணை கடின விரதத்தை எவரேனும்
இதுவரை செய்தது உண்டா தந்தையே?"

"விரதங்களில் சிறந்தது சதுர்த்தி விரதம்!
பரமனே உரைத்தான் அன்று முருகனுக்கு.

முழுமுதற் பொருள் விநாயக மூர்த்தி.
மும்மூர்த்திகளைப் படைத்தவரும் அவரே.

தோற்றங்கள் பல எடுத்துள்ளார் அவர் - என்
மூத்த குமாரனாக வந்ததது அதில் ஒன்று."

சதுர்த்தி விரதம் அனுஷ்டித்தாள் பார்வதி
வதுவையாடினாள் சிவனை எண்ணியபடி!

விவரித்தார் முனிவர் விரதமகிமைகள்,
வினாயகர் பெருமைகள் பற்றி மேலும்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
# 17c. Chathurti vratham.

"Vinayaka is the foremost among Gods. Vinayaka created the trimoortis. Those who observe Chathurti vratham achieve what they had set out to achieve. The Chathurti vratham must be started on the fourth day in the poorva paksha in the month of Aavani.

Image of Vinayaka must be made of clay as well as gold. A gold kalasam must be set up along with the two moortis. Pooja must be done with bhakti for thirty days continuously. On the chathurti day of the next month, the clay image must be thrown in a river or lake.

"Has anyone performed this difficult vratham so far?" Parvathi asked her father Parvatha Rajan. "Chathurti vratham is considered the best among all the vrathams. Parama Sivan told Murugan on one occasion that Vinayaka is the foremost among gods. He has taken many avatars. Appearing as his elder one was one of them."

Parvathi observed the tough Chathurti Vratham in the prescribed manner. She married Lord Siva as her heart desired. The sage went on to describe the greatness of Vinayaka and Chathurti Vratham .
 
#18a. கர்த்தமன்

தர்மத்தில் நிலை நின்று அரசாண்டான்
கர்த்தமன் என்னும் ஒரு பராக்கிரமசாலி.

அரண்மனைக்கு வந்தார் பிருகு முனிவர்,
ஆசிகள் பெற்றான், கேட்டான் ஓர் ஐயம்.

"இப்பிறவியில் கிட்டும் நற்பயன்கள்
முற்பிறவியோடு ஒட்டியவா அல்லவா?"

கர்த்தமனின் முற்பிறப்பை உரைத்தார்
கருத்துடன் கண்டறிந்த பிருகு முனிவர்.

"ஏழை வைசியனாக இருந்ததால் நீ
ஏழை பாழைகளுக்கு உதவவில்லை.

குற்றம் கூடியது உன் உற்றம் சுற்றம்,
முற்படவில்லை காரணம் அறிந்திட.

பிராணத் தியாகத்தை தீர்மானித்தாய்,
பிரயாணித்து அடைந்தாய் ஓர் காட்டை.

முனிவர் சௌபரியின் ஆசிரமம் கண்டாய்
கனிவுடன் அம்முனிவரை வணங்கினாய்.

"வாடிய முகத்தோடு நீ இந்தக் காட்டைத்
தேடி வரக் காரணம் என்ன?"என்றார்.

"வறுமையால் செய்ய இயலவில்லை
தரும காரியங்களைக் குலவழக்கப்படி!

உயிர்த் தியாகம் செய்யவந்தேன் இங்கு
உயர்ந்த உம்முடைய தரிசனம் கண்டேன்."

விநாயகர் மகா மந்திரத்தை சௌபரிமுனி
விருப்பத்துடன் உபதேசித்தார் உனக்கு.

சதுர்த்தி விரதத்தையும் நடத்தி வைத்தார்
அது சேர்த்தது செல்வதை உன் வீட்டில்.

பழமரத்தை நாடும் பட்சிக் கூட்டம் என
இழிநிலையை மறந்து வந்தது உறவு!

தான தருமங்கள் செய்தாய் குறைவின்றி,
தானே மன்னன் கர்த்தமனாகப் பிறந்தாய்."

#18A. Kardaman

A King named Kardaman ruled his country in a manner which earned him a lot of praise. Brugu rushi visited him once. The King got his blessings and asked him a doubt.

"Does our previous birth influence our present birth?" Brugu could look into his previous birth and told him about it.

"In your precious birth you were a poor vaisya. You could not perform any good karma due to the lack of riches. Your relatives found fault with you for not donating money to the poor but they did not try to find out the real reason behind it.

You felt very hurt and decided to end your life. You went to the dense jungle and saw the ashram of Rushi Soubari there. You went near and paid obeisance to him.

The rushi asked you for the reasons which made you go to the unfriendly forest and for feeling so dejected in life.

You told him the reasons . He took pity on you and taught you the Vinayaka Mahaa mantra. He helped you to conduct the Chathurthi Vratham in the prescribed manner.

Your house was filled with riches. Your relatives forgot your miserable past and became friendly with you again. You could do sat karma as prescribed and as a result of the punya you are now born as a king Kardaman."
 
#18b. நளன்

நளராஜன் என்னும் நிடத மன்னனும்
நலம் பெற்றான் சதுர்த்தி விரதத்தால்.

நிடத நாட்டை ஆண்டு வந்தான்
ஈடு இணையற்ற மன்னன் நளன்.

அழகன் நளராஜனின் மனைவி
அழகி, குணவதி ஆகிய தமயந்தி.

கௌதமர் வந்தார் நளனைக் காண;
கௌரவித்த நளன் அவரைக் கேட்டான்,

"பேரின்பப் பேற்றினை அடைவதற்குச்
சீரிய விரதங்கள் செப்புங்கள் ஐயா !" என

"சென்ற பிறவியில் நீ கௌட தேச மன்னன்;
சென்றாய் பகைவரை வென்று வாகை சூட.

சதுர்த்தி விரதம் செய்தாய் பக்தியுடன்.
அது தந்தது விநாயகரின் பூர்ண அருள்.

வென்றாய் பகைவரைப் போரில் எளிதல்;
இன்றும் மன்னனாக வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றாய்.

இப்பிறவியிலும் செய்வாய் சதுர்த்தி விரதம்
எப்பிறவியிலும் எய்துவாய் நற்பயன்கள்!"

நளராஜன் செய்தான் சதுர்த்தி விரதம்;
நளன் அடைந்தான் இகபர போகங்கள்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#18b. NaLan

NaLa raajan ruled over Nishada Kingdom. His beautiful wife was Damayanti. NaLan performed Chathurti vratham and obtained happiness in this world as well as in the next.

Rushi Gouthama came to visit NaLan once. The king asked the sage, "Sire! please tell me the vrathams I should observe in order to break away from the samsaara and obtain eternal bliss"

Sage Gouthama replied to the king,"You were the king of Gowda desam in your previous birth. You went to the battlefield to vanquish your enemies. You performed the Chathurti vratham with sradhdha and bhakti. It earned you the grace of Lord Vinyaka.

You won the battle with ease. You lived a good life. You are again born as a king . If you observe the chathurti vratham now, it will shower on you the grace of Vinayaka and make your life good. "

The king performed the Chathurti vratham and obtined happiness in this world as well in the next.

18c. சந்திராங்கதன்

மாளவ தேசத்தின் கன்ன நகரை
ஆளப் பிறந்தவன் சந்திராங்கதன்.

சத்ருக்களை அழிக்கும் அரிய சக்தி
பெற்றது அவனது அரிய சூலாயுதம்.

நாட்டு மக்களைத் துன்புறுத்தலாயின
காட்டு விலங்குகள் நாட்டில் புகுந்து!

துஷ்ட மிருகங்களை வேட்டையாடுவது
இஷ்டமான பணியே நம் அரசர்களுக்கு.

கொடிய விலங்குகளை அழித்தவனைக்
கொடிய அசுரர்கள் வந்து வழிமறித்தனர்.

அச்சம் என்பதே இலாத அரசனும் அரக்கரை
மிச்சம் மீதியின்றிக் கொன்று குவித்தான்!

அரக்கர்கள் மடிவதைக் கண்டதும் ஓர்
அரக்கி வந்தாள் அப்போரைத் தொடர.

பெண்ணுடன் போர் புரிய விரும்பாமல்
தண்ணீரில் ஒளிந்து கொண்டான் அரசன்.

அந்தத் தடாகமோ நீராடும் இடம் ஆகும்
சிந்தையை மயக்கும் நாக கன்னிகளுக்கு.

மயக்கும் அழகியர் மயங்கினர் அவனிடம்
தயக்கமின்றி உடன் அழைத்துச் சென்றனர்

கூடிக் களிக்க வேண்டும் அவனுடன் என
ஆடிப் பாடி அவனை மயக்க முயன்றனர்.

சந்திராங்கதன் இணங்கவில்லை அதற்கு
சிந்தை கலங்காமல் மறுத்து விட்டான்!

"மன்னன் மகன் நான்; மணமானவன் கூட.
என்னை அனுப்பிவிடுங்கள் என் உலகுக்கு!"

மனம் மாறிவிடாதா என்ற நப்பாசையால்
மன்னனைப் போக விடவில்லை பெண்கள்

18c. Chandraangathan

Chandraangathan was the king of a city in MaaLava desam. He had a weapon (a soolaayudham) which could destroy all his enemies. The wild animals invaded the city and troubled the citizens. It was the king' s duty to keep the wild animals in check and protect his citizens.

The king went on a hunting spree and killed many wild animals. He was waylaid by a group of asurasa. The king who never knew fear killed all of them with his Superior weapon.

Immediately a raakshasi came to continue the battle. Since the king did not want to fight with a woman, he hid himself in the water of a pond. The pretty naaga kanyaas used to bathe in that pond.

They saw the handsome king and fell in love with him. They took him with them to their world. They sang and danced and tried their best to win his love. But the king kept saying, "I am the son of a king. I am already married. Please let me return to my world"

The naaga kanyaas did not lose their hope of winning his love and retained him in their land for a long time.
 
#18d. இந்துமதி

வேட்டைக்குச் சென்ற அரசன் அங்கு
காட்டில் காணாமல் போய்விட்டான்.

தேடினர் இறங்கித் தடாகம் முழுவதும்;
இடிந்த மனத்துடன் திரும்பினர் நாடு.

கூறினர் அரசி இந்துமதி தேவியிடம்
வீரர்கள் இந்தத் துயரச் செய்தியினை.

"தடாகம் முழுவதும் தேடிய போதும்
உடல் கூடக் கிடைக்கவில்லை!" என.

இடிந்து போய்விட்டாள் அரசி இந்துமதி!
கடந்தன பன்னிரண்டு நீண்ட ஆண்டுகள்.

நாரதர் வந்தார் நன்மைகள் புரிந்திட ;
நடந்ததை கண்டார் ஞானக்கண்ணால்.

"இந்தக் கோலம் இனி வேண்டாம் தாயே!
சொந்தக் கணவன் உள்ளான் உயிருடன்.

கடத்திச் சென்றவர் நாக கன்னிகைகள்!
காவலில் வைத்தனர் நாகலோகத்தில்!

மனம் மாறிப் பெண்கள் உன் கணவனை
அனுப்பச் செய்திட வழி ஒன்று உள்ளது.

பொறுப்புடன் சதுர்த்தி விரதம் செய்தால்
விருப்புடன் திருப்பி அனுப்புவர் அவனை!"

உபதேசித்தார் நாரதர் ஏகாக்ஷரத்தை.
உபதேசித்தார் சதுர்த்தி விரத விதியை.

பூர்த்தி ஆனது அரசியின் சதுர்த்தி விரதம்!
மாற்றியது அது நாககன்னியர் மனங்களை!

பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் மாறாது இருந்த
மன்னனின் மனவுறுதியை வியந்தனர்.

ஏராளமான பரிசுகளை அளித்து அவனைத்
தாராளமாக அவர்கள் திருப்பி அனுப்பினர்.

மறைந்திருந்த மன்னன் வந்தான் மீண்டு;
நிறைவெய்தியது நாடு முன்போல் மீண்டும்!

விரத மஹிமையை உணர்ந்த அரசனும்
விநாயகச் சதுர்த்தி விரதத்தை செய்தான்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#18d. Indumathi

The King Chandraangathan went on a hunting expedition with his soldiers and went missing. The soldiers searched inside and outside the lake but found no trace of the missing king. They returned to their city dejected and told the bad news to the queen Indumathi.

She was shattered by this sudden shock. Years rolled by and it was twelve years since the king was missing. Narada came to meet the queen. He knew the whereabouts of the missing king.

Narada told the queen, "No need to shed tears any more oh queen. You husband is alive and well looked after but he is under guard in the land of Naagaas. The only way to bring him back here is to observe the chathurti vratham. "

Narada taught the queen Indumathi Vinayaka mantra and the Chathrurti puja vidhis. She completed the vratham successfully. That made the naaga kanyas change thir minds.

They understood that if the king could resist their temptation for twelve years, he could do it for any number of years more. They admired his courage and commitment. They showered him with gifts and took him back to his city.

The whole city rejoiced the return of the missing king after twelve years. The king understood the power of chathurti vratham. He himself observed it successfully and lived happily for a long long time.
 
#19a. தாருகன் தவம்

தாருகன் புரிந்தான் நெடும் கடும் தவம்;
'தனிப்பெரும் தலைவனாக ஆக வேண்டும்.

அண்டங்கள் அனைத்திலும் தன் ஆணை
அமலாக வேண்டும் நூற்றெட்டு யுகங்கள்.

பிரான் அளித்தார் கோரிய வரங்களை!
பிற சக்திகளால் அழிவின்மையும் கூட.

லோகங்கள் அனைத்தையும் வென்றான்;
தேவர்கள் ஆயினர் அடிமைகள் கூட்டம்.

இந்திரன், நான்முகன், நாரணன் சேர்ந்து
சென்றனர் கயிலை பிற தேவர்களுடன்.

"சிவகுமாரன் அவதரிக்க வேண்டும் எனில்
சிவன் உமையுடன் இணைய வேண்டும் !"

எதிர்ப்பட்டாள் உலகத்தின் அன்னை உமை;
துதித்தனர் ஒன்று கூடி அவள் அருளை நாடி,

"பிரான் போதிக்கின்றார் முனிகுமாரருக்கு
பிறர் அறியாவண்ணம் தத்துவ ஞானத்தை!

பிரானை அண்டித் துயர்களைக் களையப்
பிரார்த்திப்பது நல்ல பயன் தரும்!" என்றாள்.

யோகத்தில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள பெருமானை
போகத்தில் ஈடுபடச் செய்ய வேண்டும்!

யாரால் புரிய முடியும் இவ்வரிய செயல்?
மாரன் மலர்பாணங்களே வெல்லும் வழி

மலர்க்கணைகளைத் தொடுத்து மன்மதன்
சலனப் படுத்தவேண்டும் பிரான் மனத்தை.

அஞ்சினான் மன்மதன் இச் செயல் புரிய.
கெஞ்சினர் தேவர்கள் வேறு புகல் இன்றி.

யோக நிஷ்டையைக் கலைத்தான் மன்மதன்
கோப அக்னியில் எரிந்து சாம்பலானான்!

#19a. The penance of Taarukan

Tarukan performed hard penance for a long time. He wanted to rule over all the worlds for one hundred and eight yuga. He wanted to enslave all the Deva. Siva granted all his wishes. Taarukan could not be destroyed by any power other than that of Siva himself.

Taarukan conquered all the universes. The Deva became his slaves. His atrocities increased day by day. Finally Indra, Brahma and Vishnu went to Kailash. They knew that only Siva's son could destroy Taarukan.

Uma Devi met them. They consulted her about their course of action. Uma told them," Lord Siva is teaching the tatva to Sanakan and his three brothers. You express your problems to the Lord. He will surely help you"

Siva had to wed Uma to get a son who could kill Taarukan. But Siva was in yoga nishta. Who could disturb his nishta, change his mind, make him take interest in Uma and procreate a son?

They all decided that only Manmathan was capable of playing such tricks on the mind, by using his flower arrows. They approached Manmathan with this request. He was scared of Siva's wrath and refused.

But when requested by all the deva, he finally gave in. He went to Kailash and shot the flower arrow on Siva. Siva opened his fiery third eye and Manmathan turned into ash.


 
#19b. ரதியும், மதனும்.

யோக நிஷ்டையைக் கலைக்கச் சென்று
கோப அக்னியில் எரிந்து போனான் மதன்.

செய்தி அறிந்த ரதிதேவி ஓடோடிவந்தாள்
செய்வது அறியாமல் சிவபெருமானிடம்.

"தேவர்களின் வற்புறுத்தலுக்கு இணங்கி
தேவரீர் மீது பாணம் எய்தான் மன்மதன்.

பாவம் எதுவும் செய்து அறியாத எந்தன்
பதியை சம்ஹரித்தது நியாயமா ஈசா?

எனக்கு இந்த ஈன கதியினை அளித்திட
எங்ஙனம் மனம் வந்தது பெருமானே!"

மனம் கனிந்தான் பெருமான் உடனேயே.
மகள் அனைய ரதியிடம் சொன்னான்,

"மன்மதன் உயிர்த்து எழுவான் இப்போதே
தென்படுவான் உன் கண்களுக்கு மட்டுமே!

உருவம் இல்லாதவன் போலவே அவன்
அருவமாக இருப்பான் பிறகண்களுக்கு!"

எழுந்தான் மன்மதன் மீண்டும் உயிருடன்
விழுந்தான் ஈசனின் கால்களில் உடனே!

"அச்சம் கொண்ட தேவர்களுக்கு உதவிட
அச்சத்துடன் செய்தேன் நான் அபசாரம்.

இழந்த சக்திகளைப் பெற்று மீண்டும் நான்
பழையபடி ஆவதற்கு அனுக்ரஹிப்பீர் !"

"ஐங்கரனை சிந்தையில் நிறுத்துவாய்!
பங்கம் இன்றி அனுதினம் ஆராதிப்பாய்!

வந்தடையும் சகல சக்திகளும் முன்போல்.
முந்தைய ஆளுமை மீளும் உயிர்கள் மேல்"

ஏகாக்ஷரத்தை உபதேசித்தான் பெருமான்;
ஏக மனத்துடன் தியானித்தான் மன்மதன்;

ஆராதித்தான் கணபதியை மாயூரத்தில்
ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் ஓடி மறைந்தன.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#19b. Rati and Manmathan

Manmathan went to Kailash to deviate Lord Siva's mind from Yoga to Bhoga and got burned down to ashes in that process. Rati Devi came running to Lord Siva shedding streams of tears.

"My husband never wanted to disturb your yoga nishta, but all the Deva forced him to do that. Now you have burned him down to ashes. How can you put me in this state of despair my Lord? My husband has never harmed anyone till now."

Siva's heart melted with sympathy and he told Rathi Devi, "Do not worry my child! Manmathan will come back to life right now. But he will be visible only to your eyes! He will be invisible to all the other eyes"

Manmathan came back to life immediately and fell on Siva's feet. "I was afraid to do abachaaram, but I had to help the Deva. Please pardon my crime oh Lord!! Please tell me how I can get back all my original powers "

Siva told him, "Establish your mind on Vinayaka and chant his mantras. Only he can give you back your powers and your ability to control all the living creatures"

Siva taught him Ekaaksharam. Manmathan went to Mayooram and concentrated of Vinayaka chanting the Ekaaksharam taught by Lord Siva for one thousand years.
 
#19c. பிரத்யும்னன்

ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் கழிந்த பின்னர் ஐயன்
ஆயிரம் ஆதவர்கள் போலத் தோன்றினார்.

"என்ன விரும்புகிறாய் மன்மதா நீ கூறு!
என்னை தியானித்த காரணத்தைக் கூறு!"

"தாருகனை அழிக்கத் தோன்றவேண்டும்
ஏறுமயில் வாஹனன் நம் ஈசனிடமிருந்து!

யோகத்தில் அமர்ந்துவிட்ட ஈசனை நான்
போகத்தில் செலுத்துவது எளிதானதா?

பஞ்ச பாணங்களை எய்தேன் ஈசன் மீது!
பஞ்சாக எரிந்தேன் பார்வை பட்டபோது!

உயிர்ப்பிச்சை தந்துவிட்டார் உடனேயே
உருவத்தை இன்னும் பெறவில்லை நான்!

இழந்த சக்திகளை மீண்டும் தரவேண்டும்
இழந்த உருவை மீண்டும் பெறவேண்டும்"

"நிறைவேறும் உன் கோரிக்கை விரைவில்;
நிறைவெய்துவாய் முன்போலத் திறனில்.

கண்ணன் ஆவான் மண்ணில் நாரணன்.
கண்ணன் மகன் ஆவாய் நீயும் மன்மதா!

முன் போலவே அடைவாய் இழந்துவிட்ட
உன் சக்தியையும், அழகிய உருவையும்!"

மன்மதன் எடுத்தான் ஆலயம் அங்கே;
மகோற்கட வினாயகரை அமைத்தான்;

கண்ணன் ஆனான் மண்ணில் நாரணன்.
காலம் கனிந்தது குறைகள் நிறைவெய்த!

பிரிய ருக்மிணியிடம் தோன்றினான் மகன்
பிரத்யும்னன் என்கின்ற அழகிய மன்மதன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#19c. Pradyumnan

Manmathan meditated on Vinaayaka for one thousand years. Vinaayaka appeared as one thousand suns shining together. He blessed Manmathan and asked him, "What do you wish for? Please tell me!"

"Taarukan has to be destroyed. Only Siva's son can do it. Siva is in Yoga. I was ordered to change his interest from Yoga to Bhoga. I aimed my flower arrows at him. But his fiery glance burned me down. I was resurrected immediately but I am yet to regain my original form and my powers."

"You will regain your powers and your original form very soon. Vishnu will take avatar as Krishna very soon. You will be born as his son Pradyumnan. Then you will regain your form and all your powers as before."

Manmathan became happy with this boon. He built a temple there for Vinaayaka. He established a Vinaayaka there and did Aradana.

When Vishnu appeared as Krishna on earth, Manmathan was born as his son Pradyumnan to Rukmini Devi.
