5#2a. தெய்வயானை திருமணம்.

பகைவனை அழித்து அருளியவனுக்கு ஓர்
உகந்த பரிசினை அளிக்க வேண்டுமே!

பொற்கொடி போன்ற தன் வளர்ப்புமகளை
உற்ற மனையாளாக ஆக்க விரும்பினான்.

இந்திரன் கருத்தினை அறிந்த தேவர்கள்
அந்தமில்லாத மகிழ்ச்சியை அடைந்தனர்.

"முந்நாளில் தவம் செய்தாள் தெய்வயானை,
இந்நாளில் முருகனை மணக்க விரும்பி!"

தூதுவனை அழைத்தான் அமரர்கோன்.
"ஏகுவாய் நீ காற்றெனக் கடுகி விரைந்து.

பொன் மேருவில் வாழ்ந்து வருகின்ற
என் மகளை, மனைவியைக் கொணர்க!'

மேருமலை சென்றான் தூதுவன் உடனே,
பேருவகையுடன் கண்டான் அவர்களை.

"சூரபத்மனை வென்றுவிட்டான் குமரன்,
சூரபத்மனின் சிறை மீண்டனர் அமரர்.

திருப் பரங்குன்றம் சேர்ந்த முருகனுக்குத்
திருமணம் செய்யவேண்டும் உம் மகளை.

உடன் புறப்பட்டு வரவேண்டும் தாயே!
தடையின்றித் திருமணம் நடை பெற்றிட."

ஒற்றனின் மொழி கேட்டு மகிழ்ந்தனர்
பொற்கொடியும் அவள் அன்னையும்

துன்பம் தொலைந்தது! இன்பம் வந்தது!
வெண்ணிறயானை மீது ஏறி அமர்ந்தனர்.

அரம்பையர் புடை சூழ அடைந்தனர்
பரங்குன்ற மலையை விண் வழியே!

கண்ணீர் விட்டாள் கணவனைக் கண்டு!
கட்டியணைத்து உச்சி மோந்தாள் மகனை.

காதல் மனைவியை, மகளைக் கண்டதும்
களிப்பு மிகவும் எய்தினான் அமரர்கோன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#2a. Wedding with Devayaani.

Indra wanted to repay Murugan appropriately for the services he had rendered. He wished to give away his daughter's hand to Murugan in marriage. The other Devas welcomed this suggestion.

"Devayaani had done severe penance in her previous birth, wishing to wed Murugan. So be it!"

Indra sent his messenger to mount Meru to fetch his wife and daughter immediately. The messenger reached Mount Meru and told Indraani and Devayaani.

"Murugan has vanquished Soorapadman. Indra wants to marry Devayaani to Murugan. So please come with me immediately."

Indraani and Devayaani were happy that their days of suffering were over. Their days of glory had returned.

They sat on Iraavat and went to Prangkungram with all the Apsaras by flying. Indraani wept with joy on seeing her husband and embraced her son. Indra was overwhelmed to see his wife and daughter safe and sound again.

5#2b. முருகனின் சம்மதம்.

தேவர்களுடன் சென்று தொழுதான்
தேவர்களின் அரசன் முருகபிரானை;

மலர்த் தூவி, மலர்ப்பதம் தொழுது,
மலர்ந்த முகத்துடன் பேசலுற்றான்;

"பேரருள் தந்து, பேராபத்து நீக்கினீர்,
சூரபத்மனையும் அழித்து ஒழித்தீர்;

கைமாறு ஒன்று செய்ய விழைந்தேன்;
தெய்வயானையை மணக்க வேண்டும்."

"முந்தைப் பிறவியில் தவம் செய்தாள்;
இந்தப் பிறவியில் என்னை மணந்திட!

வேளை வந்தது அவள் கனவு நனவாக!
நாளை வதுவை புரிவேன் அவளை!"

மகிழ்ச்சிக் கடலில் வீழ்ந்தான் இந்திரன்;
புகழ்ச்சிக் கடலில் வீழ்ந்தான் முருகன்!

பறந்தது திருமணச் செய்தி நாற்புறமும்;
பறந்தனர் தூதர் விரைந்து நாற்றிசையும்;

"பூவுலக மன்னருக்கும், முனிவருக்கும்,
தேவருக்கும் அனுப்புவீர் மணச்செய்தி.

பரங்குன்றில் நிகழும் ஆறுமுகன் மணம்,
வரவேண்டும் உடனே அனைவரும் விரைந்து!"

தெய்வத் தச்சன் தருவிக்கப் பட்டான்
தெய்வ யானையின் மண ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்ய.

திருமண மண்டபம், தங்கும் இடங்கள் மற்றும்
விரும்பிடும் சோலைகள், சுனைகள் அமைத்தான்.

தருவித்தான் அமரர்கோன் தெய்வங்களின்
திருமணத்துக்கு தேவையான பொருட்களை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#2b. Murugan consents.

Indra went to meet Murugan. He did paada pooja and said to Murugan,

"You have saved us from out worst enemy Soorapadman. I want to honor you for your help you have rendered. Please accept the hand of my daughter Devayaani in marriage."

"Devayaani did severe penance in her previous birth wishing to marry me. Her wish will come true now. I will marry her tomorrow"

Indra became very happy and praised Lord Murugan elaborately. The wedding was announced. Messengers were sent to convey the news and invite the kings of earth, the great rushis and the Devas.

The invitation was conveyed to every one. Viswakarma was ordered to make the wedding arrangements. He created the Wedding mandapam, places to stay for the guests, fountains and flower gardens. Indra fetched all the things needed for the wedding of the Gods.

5#2c. முசுகுந்தன்.

முன்னாளில் திருக்கயிலையில் சோலையில்
அன்னையும், ஐயனும் அமர்ந்து இருந்தனர்.

வில்வ மரங்களில் வசித்து வந்தது;
நல்ல முசுக்களின் பெருங்கூட்டம் ஒன்று.

ஆண் முசு ஒன்று இவர்கள் இருவர் மீதும்
ஆர்வத்துடன் சொரிந்தது இலைகளை.

இறைவி இதைத் தொல்லை என்று எண்ண ,
இறைவனோ வழிபாடாக ஏற்றான் அதனை.

இறைவியின் சினம் தீர்ந்து அவள் அருளிட
இறைவன் அளித்தான் மெய்யறிவினை.

அறிவு பெற்ற ஆண் முசு இறங்கி வந்தது!
அறியாமையை மன்னிக்க வேண்டியது!

"குற்றம் அல்ல நீ அறியாமல் செய்தது!
குற்றமற்ற வில்வத்தால் பூசை செய்தாய்.

மனுவின் மகனாகப் பிறந்து வளர்ந்து
மண்ணுலகத்தை அரசாள்வாய் நீ!"

இனிய இந்தச் செய்தியைக் கேட்டு
இன்பம் அழிந்து துன்பம் எய்தியது.

"அழியாத பேரின்பத்தோடு இங்கிருந்து
தொழுகின்ற நல்வினையை இழந்து

அழிகின்ற செல்வ வலையில் அகப்பட்டு
அழிவேனோ உய்யும் வழியினை நான்?"

"ஆண்டு அனுபவித்த பின்னர் நீயும்
மீண்டு வருவாய் என்னிடம், வருந்தாதே!"

"பொய்யுடம்பில் மயங்காதவாறு என்னை
அய்யா இந்த முகத்துடனே படைப்பீர்களா!"

5#2c. Muchukundan.

Siva and Uma were sitting in a nandavanam in Kailash. There were many vilva trees there. Groups of monkeys lived on these trees. One male monkey kept plucking the vilva patrams one by one and throwing them down on Siva and Uma.

Uma got irritated by this act. Siva accepted it as a form of worship. He blessed the monkey and gave him true knowledge.

The enlightened monkey came down from the tree and begged for pardon for disturbing them. Siva smiled and said,

"You don't have to ask for pardon since you have not committed any mistake. You have worshiped us with the pure vilva patram. May you be born as the son of a Manu and become the ruler of the world."

Instead of becoming happy the monkey became very sad and said,

"I do not wish to leave your presence and go to the earth even to become the ruler of the world. I may get intoxicated by the wealth and power and forget you"

"Do not worry. You will come back to me after ruling well for a long period" promised Siva.

The monkey made a strange request, "Sire! Can you make me be born with this monkey face, so that I will never fall a prey to the earthly pleasures?"

5#2d. குரங்கு முக அரசன்.

திருக்கயிலையை நீங்கியது அந்த முசு.
அரிச்சந்திரனின் வழித் தோன்றலானது.

பிறந்தது குரங்கு முகத்துடன் ஆயினும்
சிறந்தது அழகில், பிற உறுப்புக்களால்.

முசுவின் முகத்துடன் பிறந்த மன்னன்
முசுகுந்தன் என்று பெயர் பெற்றான்.

அரசு செலுத்தினான் கருவூரிலிருந்து.
சூரபத்மனுக்கு அஞ்சி அடிபணிந்தான்.

ஆறுமுகன் சூரனை வென்ற செய்தி
அளித்தது அளவற்ற மகிழ்ச்சியை.

தேடி வந்தனர் அவனைத் தூதுவர்கள்.
சேதி கூறினர் அமர்களின் அரசனின்.

"உற்றார் சுற்றத்துடன் நீடு வாழ்வாய்!
மற்றொரு செய்தியும் மகிழ்ச்சி தருவது.

திருப் பரங்குன்றத்தில் எழுந்தருளிய
திரு முருகனுக்கு திருமணம் நாளையே.

தேவர்கோன் அளிக்கின்றான் தன் பரிசாக,
தெய்வயானையை, வளர்ப்புப் பெண்ணை.

திருமணம் காண வரவேண்டும் நீர்!
திருப் பரங்குன்றம் சுற்றம் புடைசூழ."

5#2d. The King with a monkey face.

The monkey left Kailash and was born in the lineage of Harischandra. He was born with a monkey face but was very beautiful in his other features. He was named as Muchukundan since he was monkey-faced.

He ruled from Karoor. He was a subordinate of Soorapathman. He was very happy to hear that
Soorapadman was vanquished by Murugan.

The messengers came to him. They conveyed the good news of the wedding between Murugan and Devayaani. He was invited to attend it along with his family and friends.

5#2e. திருமணத்துக்குச் செல்லுதல்.

மட்டற்ற மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தான் மன்னன்,
கட்டியணைத்தான் இந்திரனின் தூதுவரை;

"என்ன பரிசு கொடுப்பேன் உங்களுக்கு?
என் அரசையே பரிசாகத் தரட்டுமா?

"தூதுவர்கள் நாங்கள்; அறிவீர் நீங்கள்;
ஏதும் எமக்குத் தேவை இல்லை மன்னா!

விரைந்து திருமணத்துக்குச் செல்வதே
விழைந்து நீர் செய்யும் பேருதவி ஆகும்!"

நகர மக்களுக்குச் செய்தி அறிவித்தான்;
நகர மக்களும் உடன் புறப்பட்டனர்.

திருமணம் காண விழைந்தவர்களுக்கு
முருகன் அருளால் அற்புதம் நிகழ்ந்தது!

ஊமைகள் பேசினர் சொல்வன்மையுடன்;
ஊனர்கள் பெற்றனர் உடல் உறுப்புக்கள்.

குருடர்கள் பெற்றனர் கண் பார்வை!
செவிடர்கள் பெற்றனர் செவிச்செல்வம்.

திருப்பரங்குன்றத்தை அடைந்தனர்.
திருமண மண்டபத்தை அடைந்தனர்.

விண்ணில் இயங்குகின்ற கோள்களும்,
மண்ணுலகைக் காக்கும் திக்பாலகரும்,

தேவமகளிரும், முனிவர் மனைவியரும்,
தெய்வயானையைப் போற்றி வணங்கினர்.

5#2e. Attending the Wedding.

The king became very happy and hugged the messengers. He wanted to reward them appropriately. They wished for nothing except that he and his countrymen make haste to attend the wedding of Murugan.

The news spread and every one got ready to attend the wedding. Miracles happened to those who wished to see the God's wedding.

The dumb were able to talk; the lame regained their limbs; the blind were able to see and the deaf were able to hear.

They all left for Parankundram and reached the wedding mandapam. The nine planets, the eight Dikpaalakaas, the apsaras and rushi patnis praised the bride.

5#2f. அலங்கரித்தல்.

அழகிற் சிறந்த தெய்வயானைக்கு
அழகுக்கழகு செய்ய விரும்பினர்.

கூந்தலை நெய் தடவி நீராட்டினர்;
கூந்தலுக்கு அகிற்புகை ஊட்டினர்;

அணிவித்தனர் தலைக் கோலங்களை;
அணிவித்தனர் ஆடை அணிகலன்களை.

கருஞ்சாந்தில் நெற்றியில் பொட்டு!
கழுத்தில் புலிமுகம் பதித்த பதக்கம்.

வளைகள்; குலுங்கும் மாலைகள்!
தோள்களில் சேர்ந்தன தொடிகள்;

திருமால், இந்திரன் பிரமன் சென்றனர்
அறுமுகன் திருக்கோவில் அடைந்தனர்.

"தெய்வயானையைத் திருமணம் புரிந்திட
தேவரீர் எழுந்தருள வேண்டும்!" என....

அரியணையிலிருந்து இறங்கிய முருகன்
அரிய மயில் மீது அமர்ந்தான் சென்று.

தேவர்கள் தொழுதனர் மலர்ப்பதம்.
தேவர்கள் பொழிந்தனர் மலர்மாரி.

கதிரவன் திங்கள் வெண்குடை பிடிக்க;
காற்றுக் கடவுள் வெண்சாமரம் வீச;

வருணன் சுழற்றினான் ஆலவட்டங்கள்;
வாட்படை ஏந்தி நடந்தான் நமன்,

நிலம் அதிரக் கூவியது சேவற்கொடி;
ஒலித்தன உலகெல்லாம் நான் மறைகள்;

ஆரவாரம் செய்தனர் அரம்பையர்கள்,
ஆர்ப்பரித்தன மங்கல வாத்தியங்கள்;

பாடி ஆடினார் அற்புத தேவ மகளிர்,
பாடினர் இன்னிசை வித்தியாதரர்கள்,

திருமண மண்டபத்தை அடைந்தான் முருகன்
திரும்பிய இடமெல்லாம் மகிழ்ச்சி கடல்!

தேவ மங்கையர் சுற்றினார் ஆலத்தி!
தேவர்கள் அரசி வந்தாள் எதிரே!

காமதேனுவின் பாலால் கழுவினாள்
காமனை ஒத்த முருகன் திருவடிகளை.

மலர்களையும், மாலையையும் புனைந்து
மணமண்டபதை அடைந்தான் முருகன்.

5#2f. The Bride.

The beautiful bride was made more beautiful! Her hair was washed and dried with the fumes emitted by burning the fragrant incenses. She wore silk clothes and jewels studded with precious gems.

She had a black thilakam on her forehead and a tiger pendent in her neck.
She wore bangles, chains and ornaments on her arms.

Brahma, Indra and Vishnu invited Murugan to the wedding hall. Murugan got down from his throne sat on his peacock. The Deva worshiped him.

The Sun and The moon held the royal white umbrellas. Vaayu blew gentle wind with chaamaram. Varuna held the aalavattam and Naman walked guarding the procession with his sword.

The crowing of the cock shook the entire world. The Vedas were chanted,
the apsaras and the musical instruments filled the air with divine music. The apsaras and Vidhyaadaraas sang and danced with joy.

Murugan reached the wedding hall. There was happiness everywhere. The apsaras took haarathi. Indrani washed the feet of Murugan with the milk of Kamadenu. Adorned with flowers and garlands, Murugan reached the wedding hall.

5#2g. பிரானும், பிராட்டியும்.

விண்ணில் தோன்றிய அன்னை தந்தையரை
விழுந்து வணங்கினர் முருகனும், தேவரும்.

மார்புறத் தழுவி மகிழ்ந்தார் பெருமான்;
மார்புறத் தழுவி உச்சி முகர்ந்தாள் உமை.

விண்ணுலகிலிருந்து இறங்கி வந்தது கீழே
மண்ணுலகிற்கு ஓர் அற்புத அரியணை.

இனிதே அமர்ந்தனர் பிரானும் தேவியும்;
இனிதே தொடங்கின திருமண நிகழ்சிகள்.

தெய்வயானையை அழைத்து வந்தனர்.
தெய்வயானை வணங்கினாள் பெற்றோரை.

முருகனைக் கண்டதும் நாணினாள் அவள்.
முருகன் அருகே நின்றாள் மணப்பெண்.

முருகன் கையில் மகள் கையை வைத்து
விரும்பி தாரை வார்த்தனர் பெற்றோர்கள்.

பிரமன் எடுத்துத் தந்த திருத்தாலியை
பிரியத்துடன் அணிவித்தார் முருகன்;

மங்கல வாத்தியங்கள் முழங்கின;
மங்கல வாழ்த்துக்கள் ஒலித்தன.

மணக்கோலம் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தனர்;
மணச்சடங்குகள் முற்றுப் பெற்றன.

மணமக்கள் வணங்கினர் சபையை,
மணமக்கள் பெற்றனர் வாழ்த்துக்கள்.

அனைவரையும் வாழ்த்தி அருள் புரிந்து
அன்னை தந்தையர் சென்றனர் கயிலை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷிரமணி.

5#2g. Siva and Uma.

Siva and Uma appeared in the sky. Murugan and others prostrated to them.

Siva and Uma embraced Murugan. A rare throne descended from the sky. Siva and Uma sat on it. The wedding ceremony was commenced.

The bride was bought to the wedding mandapam. She paid respect to Siva and Uma. She blushed on seeing Murugan.

Indra and Indrani offered the hand of their daughter to Murugan. Brahma gave the maangalyam which Murugan tied around Devayaani's neck.

Auspicious blessings were showered on the couple and auspicious music was played. After blessing everyone gathered there, Siva and Uma left for Kailash.

5#2h. திருமண நிறைவு.

திருமணம் நடந்து முடிந்தது இனிதே!
திருக்கோவில் அடைந்தனர் மணமக்கள்.

விருந்தினரை உபசரித்தனர் நன்கு,
திருமால், இந்திரன், பிரமன் அங்கு!

தத்தம் இடத்தில் அமர்ந்தவர்களுக்குத்
தக்க பரிசுகள் வழங்கினான் இந்திரன்.

அறுசுவை உணவை அன்புடன் அளித்தது
விரும்பிய வண்ணம் காமதேனுப் பசு!

உடைகளை, அணிகளை அளித்தனர்
அடைந்தவர் மனம் மகிழும் வண்ணம்.

அனைவரும் திரும்பினர் தம் இருப்பிடம்,
அமரர்கள் இன்புற்று வாழ்ந்திருந்தனர்.

நாட்கள் உருண்டு ஓடின வேகமாக!
நானிலம் மகிழ்ந்திருந்தது வெகுவாக!

5#2h. After The Wedding.

The wedding ceremonies were completed and the newly wed couple reached their place of stay.

Vishnu, Brahma and Indra played perfect hosts and took care of the needs of their guests.

The Gods and Devas were seated according to their importance and rich gifts were showered on them by Indra.

Kamadhenu gave each person his choicest dishes in the wedding feast.

Every one received new clothes and ornaments to their heart's delight. Everyone went back to his place of residence.

Days rolled by. The Devas lived in peace and pleasure. The earth also lived in peace and prosperity.

5#3. அமராவதி.

விண்ணுலக வேந்தனை, தேவர்களை
விண்ணுலகில் குடியேற்ற வேண்டுமே!

தெய்வயானையுடன் தேரில் சென்றான்
தேவர் உலகுக்கு முருகன், மால்மருகன்;

தங்கள் தங்கள் ஊர்திகளில் ஏறிச் சென்றனர்;
தங்கள் அமராவதி நகருக்குத் தேவர்கள்!

எரிந்து கரிந்து போயிருந்தது அமராவதி.
எரித்தவன் பானுகோபன் அன்றொரு நாள்.

"முன் போல் இந்நகரைச் சமைப்பாய்
பொன்னுலக தேவர்கள் வாழ்வதற்கு!"

வாயில்கள், மதில்கள், கோபுரங்கள்,
செய்குன்றுகள், நீர்நிலைகள், மாடங்கள்,

விண்ணுலகை மீண்டும் காண்போர்கள்
கண்கவர அமைத்தான் தேவத் தச்சன்.

நகரின் அழகைக் கண்டதும் இந்திரன்
நட்புடன் தழுவினான் விஸ்வகர்மனை.

நான்முகனைப் பணித்தான் முருகன்,
" நாட் கடத்தாமல் முடி சூட்டுவாய்!"

கங்கையில் நீராட்டினர் இந்திரனை.
தங்க அணிகள், ஆடைகள் அணிவித்து

அமரச் செய்தனர் அரியணை மீது.
அமரர்கள் முடி சூட்டி மகிழ்ந்தனர்.

ஆறுமுகனை வாழ்த்தி வணங்கினான்
அமரர்கோன் நன்றி உணர்வுகளுடன்.

"இனிதே ஆண்டு வருவாய் இந்திரா!"
இனிக்க இனிக்க வாழ்த்தினான் முருகன்.

5#3. Amaravathi.

It was time for the Devas to return to Amaraavathy and live there as before.

Murugan went first in his chariot along with Devayaani.
The other Devas and Gods got into their own vaahanams and they all flew to Amaraavathy.

Amaraavathy was charred and in ruins. Bhaanukoban had burned it down earlier.

Viswakarma was ordered.
"Restore Amaraavathy to its original glory."

He built archways, encircling walls, gopurams, artificial mounds, ponds and multi storied buildings.

Amaraavathy had never looked better. Indra became very happy and embraced Viswakarma in appreciation.

Murugan told Brahma, "Coronation of Indra must be done without further delay"

Indra was bathed in the water from river Ganges. He was adorned with gold ornaments, silk clothes and made to occupy the throne.

He was crowned and every one felt very happy. Murugan blessed Indra and said,"Rule happily as before!"

5#4. கந்தவெற்பு.

கந்தன் செல்ல விரும்பினான் மீண்டும்
கந்தவெற்பு என்னும் தன் மலைக்கு!

தெய்வ யானையுடன் புறப்பட்டான்
தேவர்கள் வந்து தாள் பணிந்தனர்.

திருமுருகன் விடை கொடுத்தான்
திரும்பத் தம் இடம் செல்வதற்கு.

தேரைச் செலுத்தினான் இளவல்
வீரவாகு என்னும் நவசக்தி குமாரன்.

கயிலை சென்று அடைந்தனர் மூவரும்.
கயிலை நாதன் பொற்றாள் பணிந்தனர்.

அன்னை உமையும் ஆசிகள் தந்தாள்.
பின்னர் அடைந்தனர் கந்த வெற்பை.

வீரவாகு தம் பணிகளைச் செய்துவர,
அரியணை மீது முருகனும், தேவியும்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5#4. Kanda verpu.

Kandhan wanted to go back to his Kandha veppu.
He left with Devayaani in his chariot.

The Devas came and paid them their respects.
Murugan took leave of them.

Veerabaahu became the charioteer.
They reached Kailash.

They took leave of Siva and Uma.
Then they proceeded to Kanda verpu.

Veerabaahu went about his business and
Murugan and Devayaani occupied their throne.

5#5a. இந்திரனின் மாற்றம்.

விண்ணுலக போகங்களில் திளைத்து
விருப்பங்கள் நிறைவேறிய பின்னர்

கண்கள் திறந்தன தெளிவு பிறந்தது
எண்ணி ஆராய்ந்த இந்திரனுக்கு!

"இன்ப துன்பங்கள் மாறி மாறி வரும்
புன்மை வாழ்க்கை இனியும் வேண்டாம்.

அரசைத் துறந்து கானகம் அடைந்து,
அரிய தவம் செய்து அடைவேன் முக்தி."

விபரீதமான மன மாற்றங்களை குலகுரு
வியாழபகவான் அறிந்து கொண்டார்.

இன்பங்களில் நாட்டம் இல்லாதவன்
இந்திரப் பதவி எப்படி வகிக்க முடியும்?

"அரசே நான் கூறுவதைச் சற்றுக் கேளும்!
சூரனின் கொடுமையை எண்ணியே நீர்

விண்ணுலக வாழ்வினை வெறுக்கின்றீர்.
பெண்தரும் இன்பத்தையும் மறுக்கின்றீர்.

ஒழிந்து போன துன்பங்களுக்கு அஞ்சி
இழக்கலாகுமோ சுவர்க்க வாழ்வினை?

மனத்தை அடக்கி, உடலை ஒடுக்கி
மாதவம் புரிவதால் எத்தனை துயரம்!

கானல் நீரைக் கண்டு அஞ்சியதால்
கடல் நீரில் போய் நீர் விழலாமா?

உடலை வருத்தி ஐம்புலன்களை அடக்கி
அடையும் பயனும் ஒருவித போகமே.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

5 # 5 a. The changes in Indra.

After enjoying to his heart's content the swarga bhogam, Indra realized one day that life is a chain of pleasures and pains.

He had go beyond this kind of uncertain life. He decided to give up his kingdom, do penance and obtain total liberation.

Kulaguru Vyaazha bhagavaan knew the changes in the mentality on Indra. 'How can a person who is not interested in pleasures continue to be Indra?'

He gave a long sermon to Indra. "Listen o king! You are thinking about the atrocities committed and humiliation inflicted by the Sooran and his people. You want to give up this life of pleasures. The days of Soorapadman are over. He is no more.

Will you sacrifice this happy life fearing a dead person? Are you so much afraid of a mirage that you are willing to go and dive in the deep sea? The life of sanyasin is also filled with troubles and pains. Gaining control over the body and its desires is also kind of bhogam."

5 #5b. வியாழனின் வெற்றி.

வியாழ பகவான் தொடர்ந்தார் தமது
விபரீத அறிவுரைகளை மேலும்.

"ஒடுங்கும் புலன்கள், ஒடுங்கும் மனம்,
தொடங்கும் பேரின்பம் என்பார் சிலர்.

'கண்டதே காட்சி கொண்டதே கோலம்
விண்டதே மெய்' என்பதை அறியீரோ ?

'வெடித்த நிலத்தில் விழுந்த அமுதமே'
கிடைப்பதற்கு அரிய அந்த வீடுபேறு.

அடுத்தவர் சொற்களை ஆராயாமல் நம்பி
விடுக்கலாகுமோ இன்ப நுகர்ச்சியை?

மறுமை, மறுமை என்று மறுகி மயங்கி
இம்மைப் பயனை இழந்து விடாதீர்!

பெண்களுடன் வாழ்வதே வாழ்வு!
பெண்கள் இல்லாத வாழ்வே வறுமை!

பெண்கள் தரும் இன்பமே இன்பம்.
இது இல்லாவிடில் வாழ்வே துன்பம்.

இது சிற்றின்பம் என்பது அறிவின்மை.
இது பேரின்பம் என்பதே அறிவுடைமை!"

சாத்தான் வேதம் ஓதி சாதிப்பதைச் செய்ய
சாத்திரம் படித்த குருவால் முடியாதா!

தவம் செய்யும் எண்ணத்தைத் துறந்தான்;
தனிப் பெரும் போகத்தை விழைந்தான்;

அளித்தான் அரசுரிமையை ஜெயந்தனுக்கு;
களித்தான் சிற்றின்பக் கடலில் மூழ்கியபடி.

அரசு செலுத்திய ஜெயந்தன் ஒருநாள்
குருவுடம் கேட்டான் இந்தக் கேள்வியை!

"அவுணர்களால் துன்புற்று பலகாலம்
தேவர்கள் துவண்டது ஏன் எனக் கூறுவீர்."

"தக்கன் சிவனை அவமதித்துச் செய்த
தகாத யாகத்தில் பங்கு கொண்டதால்."

"விவரங்களை விளக்கமாகக் கூறுங்கள்!"
வியாழனிடம் வேண்டினான் ஜெயந்தன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
தேவ கண்டம் முற்றுப் பெற்றது. ray2:

5 # 5b. The kulaguru succeeds!

Vyaazha bhagavan continued his weird sermon further!

"When the senses are controlled and the mind is conquered, the joy of liberation starts. This is what the sanyasins tell us.
But one should live one's life the way one's mind dictates.

Liberation can be compared to the nectar spilled on a parched dry land! Why do you believe those words that can never be verified? Thinking about the next birth - which no one knows for sure - should you give up the joys in your present life?

Women add spice to our lives. The true pleasure is that given by a woman. The real poor man is one who has no place for a woman in his life. People may call it as a mean pleasure but be sure that this is the greatest pleasure in life."

It was a case of Satan reciting the scripture for his purpose and the evil teachings took deep root in Indra's mind. He made his son Jayanthan the new king of heaven and dived into a life overflowing with pleasures of all kinds.

Jayanthan approached his kulaguru and put him this question. "Why did the Deva have to suffer in the hands of Soorapadman for a very long time?"

"The Deva part took in the yagna performed by Dakshan humiliating Siva. As a punishment they had to suffer in the hands of Soorapadman."

"Sire! please tell me all the happenings in great detail!" Jayanthan requested Vyaazhan.
