Yoga means ‘union’. In India, where yoga has been flowing in the veins of the people since time immemorial, we must strive for the harmonious coexistence of the many faiths and beliefs, which is the ideal type of Universal Religion. Those who can heroically put their faith into daily living can accomplish this ‘togetherness’ in their relationships and between their outer behaviour and inner nature. The Sadhaka (aspirant for spiritual progress), intent on the path of Prema (Love), must strive for union between himself and the embodiment of Prema, namely, God.
- Sathya Sai Vahini, Chap 10, "The Yogis".

Two men look out through the same bars,
one sees the mud and other the stars.

Nice one but I cant help saying both man are just either end of the spectrum and in reality not all that different cos both still have dualistic views.
Most of us fall in either one category..this was realized by Ravana when he emptied his heart in this line from Shiva Tandav Stotram.

Drusha dwichi thra thalpayor bhujanga moukthika srajo,
Garishta rathna loshtayo suhrudhwi paksha pakshayo,
Trunara vinda chakshusho praja mahee mahendrayo,
Samapravarthika kadha sadashivam bhajamyaham.

Towards different ways of the world, towards a snake or a garland,
Towards precious gems or lump of dirt, friends or enemies,
Towards a blade of grass or a lotus, towards a common man and a king,
When will I have equal vision and I will worship Lord Sadashiva?

If a religion is to be popular and powerful, its followers should observe its tenets faithfully and well. It is not in numbers or in demonstrations that the vitality of a religion lies.

- Pujyasri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamiji of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam
