Ramana Maharishi sure knew how to dissociate his Atman from his physical body. So he did not need any anesthetics during the surgery.

After the removal of the avidya that this body is me , he became a jnani.
This wisdom or jnana dawned on him at a very young age. Throughout his
life he was immersed in the self and never for once he thought of the body
at all. I had the purva punya of knowing him personally.

# 5. இதயம்.(ஹிருதயம் = Atman.)

சுருக்கமாகச் சொன்னால் நான் என்ற எண்ணமே

எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மூலம்.

அது உதிக்கும் இடம் இதயம்.

இந்த இதயம் ரத்த சுத்திகரிப்பு செய்யும் அங்கம் அல்ல.

ஹிருதயம் என்பதற்கு "இதுவே மையம்" என்பது பொருள்.

ஆகவே அது ஆத்மாவைக் குறிக்கிறது.

# 6. ஹிருதயம். (இதயம்).

இதயம் மார்பின் வலப்பகுதியில் இருக்கிறதே தவிர இடப்பகுதியில் இல்லை.

உணர்வின் ஒளி இதயத்திலிருந்து சுழுமுனை வழியாக ஸஹஸ்ராரத்துக்குப் பாய்கிறது.

ஸஹஸ்ராரத்திலிருந்து உணர்வு உடல் முழுவதும் பரவும் போது உலக அனுபவம் உண்டாகிறது.

அந்த உணர்விலிருந்து நம்மை வேறாகப் பார்க்கும்போது பிறவித் தொடரில் மாட்டிக் கொள்கிறோம்.

# 7. பிரபஞ்சம்.

பிரபஞ்சம் முழுவதும் உடலில் இருக்கிறது.

உடல் முழுவதும் இதயத்தில் அடங்குகிறது.

எனவே பிரபஞ்சமே இதயத்தில் அடக்கம்.

உலகத்திற்குச் சூரியனைப் போன்று உடலுக்கு இதயம்.

சூரியன் சந்திரனுக்கு ஒளி தருவதுபோல்

இதயம் மனதிற்கு ஒளி தருகிறது.

Baghavan Ramana often used to quote the example of sleeping state. When
you are fast asleep, you are not aware of the outside world and as far as you
are concerned the world does not exist. Only in the waking state , when
the aganthai raises, everything elase arises. So the world is in your mind.

# 8. பிரக்ஞானம்.

சூரிய அஸ்தமனத்தின் போது சந்திர ஒளியை மட்டும் காண்பது

போன்று இதயத்தில் இருந்து விலகி நிற்கும் போது மனத்தை

மட்டுமே காண முடிகிறது.

இதயத்தில் வசிப்பவர்கள் மனம், பகலில் சந்திர ஒளிப்போன்று

இதய உணர்வில் கலந்து விளங்குகிறது.

# 9. இதயமே பரம் பொருள்.

பிரக்ஞானம் என்ற சொல்லுக்கு வெளிப்படையான பொருள்

மனம் என்றாலும், அது இதயத்தையே குறிக்கிறது என அறிஞர்

உணர்வர். பரம்பொருள் இதயமே.

அறிபவருக்கும் அறிபொருளுக்கும் இடையே உள்ள வேறுபாடு

மனத்தளைவிலே தான் உண்டு.

இதயத்தில் வசிப்பவர்கள் காட்சி ஒருமைப்பட்டதே ஆகும்.

# 10. சமாதி.

மயக்கம், அதிகமான மகிழ்ச்சி, அல்லது, துக்கம், பயம்

போன்றவற்றால் எண்ணங்கள் வலுக்கட்டாயமாக

நிறுத்தப்பெறும் போது மனம் தன் மூலமாகிய இதயத்துக்குச்

செல்லுகிறது.

அத்தகைய கலப்பை நாம் உணருவதில்லை.

இருப்பினும் உணர்வோடு இதயத்தில் நுழையும் போது அது

சமாதி என்று அழைக்கப்படும்.

இவ்வாறு வேறுபாடு வார்த்தைகளில் மட்டுமே.

#11 . ஆன்ம அனுபவம்.

இதய குகையின் நடுவே பிரமம் மட்டுமே ஒளிர்கிறது. "நான்-நான்"

என்றே நேரிடையான ஆத்மா அனுபவமே இது. ஆத்மா விசாரத்தின்

மூலமாகவோ, அல்லது கலப்பினாலோ, அல்லது

மூச்சடக்கத்தினாலோ, இதயத்தில் நுழைந்து அதாகவே வேரூன்றி

இரு.

# 12. ஹிருதயம் வலப்பக்கத்தில்.

ஸ்தூல இதயம் இடது பக்கத்தில் இருக்கின்றது என்பதை யாரும்

மறுப்பதற்கில்லை. ஆனால் நான் பேசுகின்ற இதயம்

வலப்பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறது. இது எனது அனுபவம். இதற்கு

வேறு சான்று தேவை இல்லை. இருப்பினும் மலையாள நூல்

அஷ்டாங்க ஹ்ருதயத்திலும், சீதா உபநிஷத்திலும் இது உறுதி

படக் கூறி இருப்பதைக் காணலாம்.

#13 . இதயமே உணர்வு.

நாம் உண்மையான உணர்வைத் தேடிகிறோம்.

அதை எங்கே கண்டு பிடிப்பது?

நம் ஆன்மாவுக்கு வெளியில் அதை அடைய முடியுமா?

அதை உள்ளே தான் கண்டு பிடிக்க வேண்டும்.

எனவே உள் நோக்கிச் செலுத்தப் படுகின்றீர்கள்.

உணர்வின் இருப்பிடம் இதயமே. இதயமே உணர்வு.

Madam,
Sri Ramana Maharishi said that there is a very tiny space in the right side of the
heart and in it Atman resides. Though Atman is everywhere, in order to show
it in physical frame, this is said to be in the heart. That is why we always point
out to our heart when we say I.

One has to look inwards , withdrawing all the senses from the outisde world,
to realise the indwelling self.

முதுகும் முதுகும் ஒட்டி நிற்கும் இருவர் ,
முகம் கண்டு எப்படிப் பேச முடியும்?
எதிர் எதிரே வந்து நிற்க விரும்பினால்,
எண்ணி ஓர் அடி பின் வாங்கினாலே போதும்.

“முன் வைத்த காலைப் பின் வையேன்” என,
முரண்டு பிடித்து முன் நோக்கிச் சென்றால்;
முழு உலகையுமே சுற்றி வர முயன்றால்;
முகமன் கூறலாம் அதன் பாதிச் சுற்றிலே.

நினைத்துப் பார்த்தால் அதிசயம், உண்மை;
அனைத்துப் பொருட்களையும் விடவும் நம்
அருகில் இருப்பவன் நாம் காண இயலாத,
சிறு வடிவுடைய அந்த ஆண்டவன் தானே!

கை அளவு இதயத்தில் கட்டை விரல் உயரத்தில்,
மையத்தில் அமர்ந்து, ஆட்சி செய்கிறான் அவன்.
குருதி கொப்பளிக்கும் நம் இருதயமே அவன்,
விரும்பி அமரும் ஒரு இரத்தின சிம்மாசனம்.

சூரியன், சந்திரன், மின்னும் தாரகைகளை,
சீரிய முறையில் கண்ணால் காண முடியுது.
மழையை, மின்னல் கீற்றினை காண முடியுது;
மாதவனை மட்டும் ஏன் காண முடியவில்லை?

விரித்த வலை போன்றே நம் ஐம் பொறிகள்,
விரிந்து பரந்து வெளியே செல்கின்றன.
திருப்பி அவற்றை உள்ளே செலுத்தினால்,
திவ்ய மங்களனை நாம் உணர முடியும்.

மிக மிக அருகில் அவன் இருந்த போதிலும்,
மிக மிகத் தொலைவில் இருப்பது போல,
உணர்வது தவறான பயண திசையினால்!
உள்முகம் சென்றால் உணர்வோம் அவனை.

பாதையை மாற்றுவோம் உள்முகம் நோக்கி,
பயணத்தைத் தொடர்வோம் இறைவனை நோக்கி,
பரந்த உலகில் மாறாத சிறந்த பயன் என்று,
பரந்தாமனை விடவும் வேறு என்ன உண்டு?

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

# 14. கதிரவனும் கை விளக்கும்.

அறை இருட்டாக இருக்கும் போது வெளிச்சம் தர அங்கே

விளக்கு தேவை. ஆனால் சூரியன் உதித்த பின் விளக்குக்குத்

தேவையே இல்லை. சூரியனைக் காண விளக்கு ஏதும் தேவை

இல்லை. அது தானாகவே ஒளி விடும்.

மனமும் அப்படியே. உலகப் பொருட்களைக் காண மனதின்

பிரதிபலிக்கப்பட்ட ஒளி தேவை. ஆனால் இதயத்தைக் காண

மனத்தை அதை நோக்கித் திருப்பினால் போதும். பின் மனம்

அதில் இல்லாது போகின்றது. இதயம் மட்டும் ஒளி விடுகிறது.
