The doctors will find out that the method used for nearly 400 years is not healthy

only when the president of the country has a problem and suffers!

OMG! One kutty fellow in our family had a serious doubt.
Since numbers are allotted, should a person do # 1 and # 2 one after the other or simultaneously? :decision:

Scientific discoveries sometimes proceed that way. Remember how Archimedes discovered a way to distinguish genuine gold from spurious one? Apparently the story goes that the King of Greece threatened to behead him ( or put him in jail) if he did not figure out whether the royal crown made by the goldsmith was made of pure gold or not.

In mathematics, 1 always comes before 2. In biology, that happens naturally most of the time, though not always.

Dear Dr Ross

I thought Ayatollah Khomeini was the cause for many ailments of Jimmy Carter
- hemorrhoids being one of them !

Good that he learnt to S_IT in 1978 itself. -because '79 onwards of course he had all sorts of problems
- sent as free gifts with affection from the Ayatollah with the Trademark " Moon & Star ".

On serious vein Dr Ross, your post on 'Squatty Potty' was very informative.

Anybody have suggestions - which direction to face while squatting - aligning oneself to the
Earth's magnetic field while squatting might ease the pressure on the anal sphincter, thereby
enhancing smoothness of bowel movement ?

Yay Yem

..... Talk to the Vastu specialists!
The Vastu specialist appointed by Times of India often writes about the place where the toilet should NOT be built.

Direction to face is not given though! :D

P.S: The first job our tenants upstairs did was to demolish the toilets built in the South West and make a special room
to store their official documents! Vastu sAsthram! :faint:

Dear Yay Yem Sir, Greetings. Best way IMHO is that to hold on for as long as you feel and let go whatever be the direction in which you squat.. LOl... Jokes apart , i think some religion even has fatah on one should not face certain direction even while urinating!!!

Cheers.

Direction of south-north/north-south for the closet is aviodable..

I know an old lady who refused to use the western toilet even after she became 85+

She used to sit in the Indian toilet and would not be able to get up after finishing her business.

Her sons had to rush to her help dropping whatever they were doing, to get on to her legs.

She would say unless she sat in the squatting position

she would be unable to do her business.

Later she became bedridden and had to pass motion in the lying position

which she managed to do very well surprisingly!!!

A man visiting abroad had no idea of how to use the European closet.

(This is supposed to have happened long back say ~50 years ago!)

He finished his business on a paper and wondered where to throw it.

He saw the window on the wall and took an aim and let the packet fly.

Unfortunately it was not an open window and had a crystal clear glass pane in it.

Now this man was in real hot soup. Just then he saw the janitor pass by.

He made the janitor an irresistible offer,

"I will give you a ten dollar bill if you will clear that mess"

The janitor replied with a benevolent smile,

I will give you a twenty dollar bill if you tell me

HOW you managed to aim it so high!"

Dear MK Ji

Your post # 386. I think you meant 'Fatwah'. I am a bit out-of-touch with Arabic, but 'Fatah'
- actually 'Al Fateh' [ 'Al' in Arabic is the equivalent of 'THE' in English eg., Al Khaleej means The Gulf,
" Wein Al Kagaz ? " means " Where is the paper/document ? " ]

'Al Fateh' as I understood is meant some kind of a Conquering / Victory. Yasser Arafat named his party
Al Fateh - later merged with PLO.

But you may be correct they are capable - of passing such a Fatwah, punishable with a castration.

Why, can you please explain? When somebody has to do it urgently, the last thing that will
come to his / her mind is searching for a compass !

It is not like that.. What I have posted is a general thing adopted for construction of house.. I have mentioned it as

"closet" which is a permanent fixture..

When I visited the U S of A for the first time, my son showed an area covered with sliding doors and said that it was a closet!

I wondered why such a big door for a toilet and then knew that a closet also meant a cabinet or enclosed recess for linens,

household supplies or clothing!

A closet.

Yes U R Correct Yay Yem Sir. Yesterday from the Local Library i have brought one book on the Fatwahs by Shri Arun Shorie called "The world of Fatwahs"... Will try & post some interesting aspects from the books once i finish the same.

Cheers.

Dear MK Ji

I don't think it will be wise for you to post fatwahs on the forum. In the light of recent developments such as the
world-wide flare-ups and mob fury against the ' Innocence of Muslims ', I don't think we need to look like a bunch
of people discussing / ridiculing any particular religion / community or any such sensitive issue.

Things could have a snow-balling effect and go out of control. I would sincerely advise you against it.

By all means, you have all the freedom to read, imbibe, and enjoy the logic/humor/absurdity. PERIOD.

I hope you will not construe my suggestion as some kind of a 'censorship'.

Dear Mr.Yay Yem,

Point taken in the same spirit that you have written, Though i was not intenting on posting anything related to another religion from the book, but only the interesting part which will be thought provoking one. I read somewhere, that 10% of the conflicts is due to the difference in opinion, and 90% is due to the wrong tone of the voice/writtten words.

Thanks for showing the caution at the correct time.

Cheers.

Dear TVK Sir

Ref your post # 393 and Tmt RR's post # 394.

Now, what direction is this supposed to 'face' / 'not face' ?
How to fit in Dr Ross's " innovative posture equipment " in here ?

I don't think " Vaasthu Shaastram " was written with a WC in mind.

I agree with your sentiment.

There is no freedom of speech, with out consequence. So a limited "censorship" is mandatory for this site, and the country.

I am bit confused with your posting... Vasthu or no vasthu..certain basic principles are follwed in construction..

Adoptability is left to the choice of the client...
