14g. சூதாட்டம்
திருக்கயிலை சென்றார் மால் ஒருநாள்.
பிறைச்சூடி கூறினர் அன்னை உமையிடம்,
“இன்றைக்கு ஆடுவோம் சூதாட்டம்;
வென்றவருக்கு அளித்திட வேண்டும்
தன் அணிகலன்களைத் தோற்றவர்.
உன் அண்ணனே நடுநிலையாளர்!”
அன்னையும் உடன்பட்டாள் இதற்கு.
அண்ணன் திருமால் நடுநிலையாளர்.
சிவன் தோற்றான் அச் சூதாட்டத்தில்.
சிவன் கூறினார்,”நானே வென்றேன்!”
பந்தயப்படி அளித்துவிடு எனக்கு
உந்தை அணிவித்த ஆபரணங்களை!”
“நடுநிலையாளரே கூறுங்கள் இந்தக்
கடுமையான போட்டியில் இன்று
வென்றவர் யார்? தோற்றவர் யார்?”என,
“வென்றவர் சிவனே என்றார் மால்!”
அண்ணன் அண்ணலுக்கு சாட்சியா?
அன்னைக்கு எல்லை மீறியது சினம்.
“வஞ்சகமாகப் பொய் உரைத்த நீங்கள்
நஞ்சு மிகுந்த பாம்பாக மாறக்கடவீர்!”
கொடிய பாம்பு வடிவெடுத்தார் மால்.
அடிபணிந்தார் அண்ணல் சிவனாரை.
“இந்த வடிவம் என்று மறையும்?
சொந்த வடிவம் என்று அமையும்?”
“ஆலங்காட்டில் உள்ளது ஆலமரம்.
ஆலமரத்தடியில் உள்ளது பொந்து;
அமர்ந்து அதில் தவம் செய்வீர்.
ஆனைமுகனால் நீங்கும் சாபம்!”
பெருமான் கூறினான் அருளுடன்!
திருமால் அடைந்தார் ஆலங்காட்டை.
வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
6#14g. The gambling and the lie
Vishnu went to Kailash one day. Siva wanted to play a prank. He told Uma, “We will play a game of dice. The loser must give all the ornaments to the winner!”
Uma agreed. Vishnu was made the judge. Siva lost the game but claimed the prize as if he were the winner. Uma asked Vishnu “Who is the winner in this game?”
Vishnu lied and said,”Siva has won the game.” Uma got terribly angry at this lie. She cursed Vishnu to become a poisonous snake.
Vishnu asked Siva, When will I get saapa vimochanam? When will I regain my original form?”
Siva replied, “Go to Aalangaadu. There is huge banyan tree. It has a hole in its trunk. Live there an do penance. My son will come there and deliver you from the saapa.” Vishnu went to Aalangadu.

அண்ணன் அண்ணலுக்கு சாட்சியா?
அன்னைக்கு எல்லை மீறியது சினம்.
“வஞ்சகமாகப் பொய் உரைத்த நீங்கள்
நஞ்சு மிகுந்த பாம்பாக மாறக்கடவீர்!”
கொடிய பாம்பு வடிவெடுத்தார் மால்.
அடிபணிந்தார் அண்ணல் சிவனாரை.

சொந்த வடிவம் என்று அமையும்?”
“ஆலங்காட்டில் உள்ளது ஆலமரம்.
ஆலமரத்தடியில் உள்ளது பொந்து;
அமர்ந்து அதில் தவம் செய்வீர்.
ஆனைமுகனால் நீங்கும் சாபம்!”
பெருமான் கூறினான் அருளுடன்!
திருமால் அடைந்தார் ஆலங்காட்டை.
