ஒரு சிறந்த இறை பக்தனுக்கும்,
ஒரு சலவைத் தொழிலாளிக்கும்

வலுத்து விட்ட வாக்குவாதம்
வம்புச் சண்டையில் முடியவே;

துவைக்கலானான் அப்பக்தனையும்
துணிகளைப் போலவே வண்ணான்.

“கண்ணா! கண்ணா!” என்று பக்தன்
கதறுவது கேட்டதும் எழுந்தான்,

ஒய்யாரமாக வைகுண்டத்திலே
ஓய்வு எடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தவன்.

நான்கடிகள் நடந்து சென்றவன்,
மீண்டும் வந்து அமர்ந்துவிடவே,

நாயகனிடம் விவரம் கேட்டாள்,
நானிலம் வணங்கும் இலக்குமி.

“நானே செல்ல வேண்டியதில்லை;
தானே திருப்பி அடிக்கத் துணிந்தவன்,

தன்னையே காத்துக் கொள்வான்;
என்னை எதிர்பார்க்க மாட்டான்!”

சரணாகதியும் பலன்கள் தரும்
பூரணமாக இருந்தால் மட்டுமே.

போராடியவரை பாஞ்சாலிக்குமே
புடவை தரவில்லையே கண்ணன்.

PARIPOORNA CHARANAAGATHI.

A quarrel broke out between a Krishna bakthA and a washer man.At first it was a verbal fight. But very soon it became a fist fight. Naturally the washer man was better equipped for the exchange of blows than the Krishna bhaktA.


Baktha called out for KrishnA’s help. God was about to help him, but He found that the bhakthA had started returning the blows of the washer man.


God sat back saying to Lakshmi dEvi that the bhaktA can take care of himself now. He does not come to help us, unless we surrender totally. Even to droupathi, He did not give the sari, until she stopped struggling and surrendered to Him totally

[h=1]சிறு தவளை.[/h]

வனவாசம் செய்யும்போது ராமன்,
தனது தாகத்தைத் தணிக்கவேண்டி;

அம்பையும், வில்லையும் மண்ணில்
ஆடாமல் பதித்துவிட்டுச் சென்றான்.

வந்து பார்க்கையில், மண்ணில்
சிந்தும் ரத்தத்தில் சிறு தவளை.

வில் ஊடுருவியதால் அதற்கு
விளைந்து விட்டது விபரீதம்!

“ஒரு குரல் கொடுத்திருந்தால்
ஒரு கொலை நிகழ்ந்திராதே!”

மறுகிய மனத்துடன் ராமன்,
மரணம் தழுவும் தவளையிடம்

மனம் வருந்திக் கேட்கவே,
மறுமொழி பகர்ந்தது அது.

“யார் எனக்குத் தீங்கு செய்தாலும்
யாரை நான் அழைப்பேனோ,

அவனே எனக்குத் தீங்கிழைத்தால்,
யாரிடம் சொல்வேன் நான்?”

தெய்வம் உதவிடும் நமக்கு,
மற்றவர் தொல்லை செய்தால்!

தெய்வமே தொல்லை செய்தால்,
மற்று எவர் உதவுவார் நமக்கு ?

RAMA AND A FROG.

During His vanavAsam Rama planted his bow on the ground – while going for a drink of water. The edge of the bow pierced through a frog by mistake.

When RAmA returned, He found the tiny frog dripping blood and in severe pain. He felt very sad and asked the frog,” Why didn’t you croak to let me know of your presence? This accident could have been easily averted then!”

The frog replied in a feeble voice,”When the others harm me, I call out your name. When you yourself harm me,whose name can I call out?”

When the world punishes us, we can seek asylum in the lotus feet of the Lord.
When the Lord himself punishes us, who can save us?

When God is with us, no one can harm us.
When God is against us, no one can save us!

07. அஞ்சனாத்ரி

வந்தனர் அங்கே சிவனும், உமையும்.
மந்திகள் கூடிக் களிப்பதைக் கண்டனர்.

இன்புற விரும்பினர் தாமும் அவ்விதமே ;
இருவரும் மாறினர் இரண்டு மந்திகளாக!

பரம சிவனிடம் வெளிப்பட்ட தேஜசைப்
பிரசாதமாகத் தந்துவிட்டான் வாயு அன்று!

கனி என்று எண்ணிப் புசித்துவிட்டாள்!
கனி அல்ல அது; சிவனுடைய தேஜஸ்!

அசரீரி கேட்டது அஞ்சனைக்கு அப்போது;
“அசாதரணமான மகன் பிறப்பான் உனக்கு!

மகேஸ்வரனின் ஒரு அருட்பிரசாதமாக;
மகா பலவானாக; ஒரு மகா பண்டிதனாக;

மகா பக்தனாக, ஒரு சிரஞ்சீவியாக!” என்று.
மனம் நிம்மதி கொண்டாள் தேவிஅஞ்சனை.

வானர உருவில் வந்து பிறந்தான் மகன்,
வானில் பாய்ந்து சென்று விளையாடினான்.

கனி எனக் கருதினான் செங்கதிரவனை!
இனித்துச் சுவைக்கப் பறிக்கச் சென்றான்.

தடுத்தான் பிரம்மாஸ்திரத்தால் பிரமன்;
தரையில் விழுந்தான் குழந்தை மயங்கி!

அஞ்சனையின் கண்ணீருக்கு அளவில்லை.
அஞ்சி ஓடிவந்தனர் தேவர்கள் அவளிடம்.

“பாலகனுக்கு இல்லை என்றுமே ஆபத்து!
பாலகனுக்கு இல்லை என்றுமே மரணம்!”

தேவ கானமும், சாஸ்திர ஞானமும் தந்து,
தேஹ வலிமை, தொண்டு மனப்பான்மை,

வாக்கில் சாதுர்யம், மனதில் பூரண பக்தி,
திக்கெட்டும் பரவிய புகழ், அஷ்டசித்திகள்;

அனைத்தும் தந்தனர் அஞ்சனை மகனுக்கு;
“இனியொருவர் இணையாகார் இவனுக்கு!

புனிதத் தலம் விளங்கிடும் புவனத்தில்
இனி அஞ்சனாத்ரி என்று உன் பெயரால்.”

Siva and Uma came to that garden. They saw the monkeys there enjoying intimacy on the tress. They too wished to enjoy in the same manner. So they both assumed the form of two monkeys.

When Siva released his tejas, Vaayu caught hold it and took it to Anjanaa. He dropped it in her hands as usual and she gulped it down as usual. But it was not a fruit as usual and was the tejas which had emerged from lord Siva.

Anjanaa became both pregnant and worried. Just then she heard an aakaash vaaNi which told her, “You will be blessed with a very unusual son as the divine prasaadam of Lord Siva.

He will be extremely strong, extremely intelligent, a great devotee and a chiranjeevi”. Anjanaa felt relieved on hearing this.

She delivered a son at the due time. He was unusual no doubt. He could jump very high in the sky and he was utterly fearless. He mistook the red Sun to be a ripe fruit and jumped into the heavens to pluck it and eat it.

Brahma got bewildered and tried to stop the child from stealing the Sun with his Brahma asthram. The child got hit and fell down unconscious on the earth.

Anjanaa’s tears were uncontrollable. The Deva felt sorry for Brahma’s action and rushed to where Anjanaa and her son were.

They showered blessing upon blessing on that child. “Nothing can harm this child. He will be a chiranjeevi. He will have the most coveted ashta sidhdhi.

He will be divine singer. He will have the gnaanam of all the saasthraas. His physical strength will be nonpareil.

He will be service minded. He will be an expert in the play of words and arguments. He will be a great devotee of god.

His fame will spread far and wide and it will never ever diminish. No other person can ever become as great as this child.

In addition to all these boons bestowed on your son, this place will be named after you as Anjanaadri hence forth”

பரத்வாஜரின் நண்பர் ரைப்யர்,
பாரதத்தின் சிறந்த வித்துவான்.
தந்தையர் நண்பர்கள் ஆனாலும்,
மைந்தர்கள் மிக மாறுபட்டவர்கள்.

ரைப்யரின் மகன்கள் இருவர்,
பராவசு மற்றும் அர்வாவசு.
தந்தை போன்றே இருவரும்
வேதவல்லுனர், வித்துவான்கள்.

பரத்வாஜரின் மகன் யவக்ரீவன்,
சிரமப் படாமலேயே கல்வி கற்க
ஒரு முயற்சி செய்தான், கொடிய
நெருப்பினில் தன் உடலை வாட்டியே!

இந்திரனை நோக்கிக் கடும் தவம்,
“எந்த முயற்சியும் இன்றியே அரிய
வேத வேதாந்தங்களின் அறிவினைத்
தோதாகத் தந்தருளுமாறு” வேண்டியே.

கங்கைக் கரையில் கண்டான் அவன்,
மங்கிய பார்வை உடைய கிழவனை;
அங்கையில் மணலை அள்ளி அள்ளியே,
கங்கையில் வீசும் வினோத மனிதனை.

“எண்ணம் என்ன சொல்லும் தாத்தா,
தண்ணீரில் மணலை அள்ளி வீசுவதில்!
தள்ளாத வயதில் இது என்ன ஒரு விதப்
பொல்லாத விளையாட்டு உமக்குக் கூறும்”

“பொங்கும் கங்கையை கடந்து செல்ல,
தங்கும் மணல் அணை கட்டுகின்றேன்.
எத்தனை பேர்கள் இந்த ஆற்றினை
யத்தனமின்றிக் கடக்க, அது உதவும்!”

“புத்தி பேதலித்துவிட்டதா, அல்லது
புத்தி மழுங்கியே போயிற்றா கிழவா!
கங்கை ஆற்றை ஒரு மண் அணையால்,
எங்கேனும் தடுக்க முடியுமா, சொல்லும்!”

“குருவிடம் சென்று சிரமப்படாமலேயே,
பெரும் வேதங்களைக் கற்க முடிந்தால்,
பொங்கும் கங்கையில் இம்மணல் அணை
தங்கும்; வேண்டாம் வீண் ஐயங்கள்!”

இப்போது புரிந்தது, யவக்ரீவனுக்கு
அப்போது வந்திருப்பது யார் என்று!
தவத்துக்கு அருள் செய்ய வேண்டித்
தன்னைத் தேடி வந்துள்ள இந்திரனே.

அடி பணிந்தான், ஆசி கோரினான்;
“குரு அருள் இன்றி கல்வி இல்லை!
ஒரு குருவினை நாடுவாய், நீயும்
பெரும் வித்துவானாகவே ஆவாய்”

சுவர் இல்லாமல் சித்திரமா?
குரல் இல்லாமல் இன்னிசையா?
கால் இல்லாமல் நாட்டியமா?
குரு இல்லாமல் ஒரு கல்வியா?

A DAM OF SAND!

Bharadwaajar and Raibhyar were good friends.But their sons were very different from one another. Raibhyar’s two sons Paraavasu and Arvaavasu were well versed vidhvaans in Vedas.

Yavagreevan, the son of Bharadwaja was jealous of their accomplishment but wanted to get the knowledge of Vedas without studying under a guru.

He did a severe penance and roasted his body in the burning flames, hoping that Indra would take pity on Him and bless him with the knowledge of the Vedas.

One day he saw a very old man throwing handfuls of sand in the river Ganga. When questioned the old man said that he was building a dam across Ganga with the sand.

Yavagreevan asked whether it was humanly possible to do so.The old man replied that if it were possible for person to learn Vedas without the guidance of a Guru, this was also a possible feat.

The old man was none other than Indra in disguise. He blessed Yavagreevan and advised him to approach a Guru to learn Vedas.

08. மாதவன்

நந்தனத்தில் வாழ்ந்து வந்தான்,
அந்தணன் புரந்தரன் என்பவன்.

நன்கு தேர்ந்தவன் கல்வி, கேள்வியில்,
நல்ல மகன் இருந்தான் மாதவன் என்று.

தந்தையைப் போல உத்தமன் அவன்,
சந்திரரேகை அன்பு கொண்ட மனைவி.

தீர்த்த யாத்திரை சென்றனர் இருவரும்;
தீர்த்தமாடித் தரிசித்தனர் இறைவனை.

தங்கி இருந்தாள் மனைவி தடாக்கரையில்,
தான் மட்டும் சென்றான் கனிகள் கொணர!

புல்லறுக்க வந்த புலைச்சியைக் கண்டு,
மெல்ல அவளைத் தன் வசப்படுத்தினான்.

உடன் வந்த மனைவியை மறந்து விட்டுத்
தொடர்ந்து போனான் புலைச்சி குடிசைக்கு.

அந்தணன் தான் என்பதை மறந்து விட்டான் ;
சொந்த குலஆசாரத்தைத் துறந்து விட்டான்;

வழிப்பறிக் கொள்ளைகள் செய்தான் – பின்பு
வழிப்பறியே வாழ்வாதாரம் ஆகி விட்டது!

காலம் செல்லக் கட்டுத் தளர்ந்தது மேனி;
காமக் களியாட்டம் கிழவனாக்கி விட்டது.

வழிப்பறி செய்ய உடல் வலிமை இல்லை;
வழியில் வந்த அவள் வழியோடு போனாள்!

#08. Maadhavan


Purandaran was a good Brahmin who lived in Nandanam. He had a son as good as himself called Maadhavan. Chandra Rekha was his daughter in law and they lived a peaceful and contented life.

Maadhavan and Chandra Rekha went on a theerta yaatra. They bathed in the holy rivers and ponds and prayed to the deities.

One day he made her wait near the banks of a pond and went to the forest to fetch some fruits for her. But by the cruel play of fate, he saw a very attractive woman who had come there to cut the grass.

He fell madly in love with her and followed her to her hut – forgetting all about his loyal wife who was waiting for him on the banks of the pond. He lived with that woman and ate what she ate. Soon he forgot that he used to be a pure Brahmin.

He waylaid passers by and stole their goods and money. He enjoyed carnal pleasures with her endlessly. Soon he had become very old, infirm and weak. He could not commit robbery any more nor keep his woman happy.

One fine day the woman walked away from him quietly.

09. வேங்கடம்

தனியனாக ஆகி விட்டான் மாதவன்;
தன் நிலைமைக்கு மிக வருந்தினான்.

மனைவியிடம் செல்லவும் வழியில்லை
தனியே தவிக்க விட்டு விட்டு வந்ததால்!

நோய் வாய்ப்பட்டு அவளிடம் செல்வது
வாய்மை அல்ல என்பதை உணர்ந்தான்.

ஊர் ஊராகச் சுற்றி அலைந்து திரிந்தான்!
தீர்மானம் என எதுவும் இல்லை மனதில்!

சேஷாச்சலத்தை அடைந்தான் – ஆதி
சேஷனே அங்கு மலையாகக் கிடந்தான்.

பாவங்கள் தீரப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தான்;
பாவனமாகிடப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தான்;

காலடி வைத்தவுடன் அவனை எரித்தான்,
கால் முதல் தலை வரை அக்னி தேவன் .

பாவங்கள் எரிந்து சாம்பல் ஆனதும்,
பார்ப்பவர் வியக்கும் தேஜஸ் வந்தது.

வணங்கினர் அவனைக் கண்ட பேர்கள்,
வணங்கினர் அவனை முனிபுங்கவர்கள்.

கருணை எரித்தது பாவக் குவியலை;
கருணை அளித்தது புனிதமான உடலை!

வேங்கடம் என்றால் பாவத்தை எரிப்பது;
வேங்கடம் எரிக்கும் பக்தனின் பாவத்தை!

மாதவனின் பாவத்தை எரித்தது முதல்
மறு பெயர் பெற்றது வேங்கடகிரி என.

#09. VEnkatagiri

Maadhavan became all alone in the world. He felt sorry for himself. He did not want to go back to his wife – whom he had deserted without sympathy on one fine day. He had taken ill and he did not think it proper to go back her sick and old .

He roamed around wherever his legs took him to. He had neither plans and nor destinations. He reached Seshaachalam while wandering like a vagabaond .

Aadhiseshan had become the Seshaachalam it was told. He prayed for deliverance form his sins and he prayed to become purified.

Lo and behold! Agni Devan burned him from his feet to his head. All his sins got burnt. He received a body emitting brilliance. Whosoever saw him paid him their respects. Even the rushis were impressed by his luminous sareeram.

The mercy of God had burned down all his sins. It made him a new man worthy of being respected by everyone. VEnkatam means burning the sins. VEnkatam will rid a devote of all his sins.

It removed all the sins of Maadhavan and the name of Seshaachalam became VEnkatagiri.

ஊரையே தன் ஆட்சிக்குள் கொண்ட
ஊர்ப் பெரியவரிடம் பணி புரிந்தான்,

அன்பும், அடக்கமும் கொண்டிருந்த
தன்மையுள்ள வேலையாள் ஒருவன்.

நன்கு விளைந்த இலந்தைப் பழங்கள்,
நான்கு, ஐந்து கிடைத்திடவே, அதைத்

தானே உண்ணாமல் துணியில் சுற்றித்
தன் எஜமானனிடம் எடுத்துச் சென்றான்.

வாயில் சிந்தும் சிறு புன்னகையுடனும்,
கையில் ஒரு பொதியுடனும் கண்டதும்,

அருகில் அழைத்து விசாரித்தவரிடம்,
பெருமையுடன் அளித்தான் பழங்களை.

விரும்பி உண்ணும் எஜமானைப் போலவே
விளங்குபவர் நம் இறைவனும் அறிவீர்!

எளியவருக்கு அவன் மிகவும் எளியவன்!
வலியவருக்கு அவன் மிகவும் வலியவன்!

கள்ளம் இல்லா உள்ளமே அவனுக்கு
வெள்ளையான வெண்ணையாகும்!

OUR PETTY OFFERINGS.

A humble and honest man worked under a rich and powerful master – who had control over his whole village.

One day the man-servant got some fresh bear fruits (elantham pazham) which he did not taste, as he wanted to offer them to his master.

He had a mixed feeling since his master was a man of great importance, whether he would make fun of him for offering such cheap fruits.

Contrary to his fears, the master is very pleased with him and the fruits he had offered.

God, who is and who has everything we see in the universe, also feels pleased with us in the same way, with our petty offerings.

[h=1]பக்தி,பகுத்தறிவு.[/h]

மூவுலக சஞ்சாரியான நாரதர்
முன் நிற்கக் கண்டார் இருவரை.

இருவருமே நல்ல தபஸ்விகள்,
இறையைக் காண விழைபவர்கள்.

“வைகுண்டத்திலிருந்தா வருகின்றீர்?
வைகுண்டநாதன் என்ன செய்கின்றார்?”

நாரதர் சிரித்துவிட்டுச் சொன்னார்,
“நாரணனுக்கு எல்லாமே விளையாட்டு!

யானைகளையும், ஒட்டகங்களையும்,
யாராலுமே செய்ய முடியாதபடி, அவர்

ஊசியின் சிறு கண்ணின் வழியே
உள்ளே புகச் செய்கின்றார், ஆஹா!”

முதலாம் யோகி பரம பக்தர்,
முழு விசுவாசம் உடையவர்.

“செய்வார்! செய்வார்! அவர்தான்
செய்ய வல்லவர் அற்புதங்களை!”

இரண்டாமவர் பகுத்தறிவுவாதி;
இளநகை புரிந்தார் அப்போது.

“யானையாவது? ஊசிக் காதாவது?
யாருக்கு காது குத்துகின்றீர்கள்?”

“முடியும்” என்றால் எல்லாம் முடியும்;
“முடியாது” என்றால் எதுவும் முடியாது!

“உருவம்” என்றால் உண்டு உருவம்;
“அருவம்” என்றால் வெறும் அருவமே.

நாம் விரும்புகின்றபடியே தன்னை,
நமக்குக் வெளிக்காட்டுவான் இறைவன்!

PARIPOORNA BHAKTI.

Narada was returning from Vaikuntam. He met two true thapasvis on the way. They were doing penance with the idea of getting BhagavAn’s dharshan.

They asked whether NAradA was returning from Vaikuntam . When nAradA said that he was in fact retuning after having dharshan of Lord NArayanA.

The tapasvis asked him what the God was doing there?

NAradA told them that God NArAyanA was passing elephants and camels through the eye of a needle.

One of the two tapasvis beleives Narada as he had paripoorna bhakti and said that nothing is impossible for the Lord.

The other tapasvi used his common sense and hence doubted NAradA.

In the world also half the people doubt the powers of God, while the other half believes that everything is possible for God.

#10. நாக கன்னிகை

சோழ ராஜன் சென்றான் வேட்டைக்கு,
சேஷாச்சலத்தை அடைந்தான் திரிந்து.

பிரிந்து விட்டான் படை வீரரிடமிருந்து;
மறந்து விட்டான் வெளிச்செல்லும் வழி!

தட்டு தடுமாறி வெளிவர முயன்றவன்
பட்டு ரோஜாப் பெண்ணைக் கண்டான்!

மலரே மலர்களைக் கொய்யுமா என்ன?
மலர் மங்கை மலர்கள் கொய்திருந்தாள்!

மையல் வசப் பட்டான் சோழ மன்னன்
தையலின் லாவண்யத்தைக் கண்டதும்.

“கொடிய விலங்குகள் திரியும் வனத்தில்
கொடி இடையாள் நீ என்ன செய்கிறாய்?

நீ யார்? எந்த ஊர்? என்ன பேர்? ” என
நீளமாக அடுக்கினான் கேள்விகளை.

“நாகர் குலத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவள் நான்
நாகர்களின் வேந்தன் என் தந்தை “

“மணம் செய்து கொள்கிறாயா என்னை?
மனம் பறி போய்விட்டது கண்டவுடன்!”

“நற்குணங்கள் பொருந்திய மன்னனைக்
கற்பு மணம் புரிய வேண்டுமாம் நான்!'

தந்தையிடம் நீர் பேசினால் நடக்கும்
தடைகள் இல்லாமல் நம் திருமணம் “

“நாக லோகம் செல்ல நேரம் இல்லை!
காம வேதனை தாங்க முடியவில்லை!

கந்தர்வ விவாஹம் செய்து கொள்வோம்;
தந்தையிடம் சொல் திரும்பச் சென்றபின்.”

காமவசப் பட்டிருந்தாள் நாககன்னிகை;
தாமதம் இன்றிக் கந்தர்வ விவாஹம்!

ஆனந்த வெள்ளத்தில் நீந்தினர் பல நாள்;
அவரவர் வீட்டுக்குச் சென்றனர் ஒருநாள்.

#10. The Naagaa Princess


A Chozha king went for hunting. He reached Venkatagiri while roaming around. He got separated from his men and lost his way in the forest. He saw a pretty maiden in the forest. She was plucking flowers.

He fell head over heels in love with her. He went near her and asked her,”Who you pretty lady? What are you doing in this forest where wild animals roam about freely?”

She replied to the Chozha king,”I am the princess of the Naagaas and my father is the Naagaa King Danusan.” The Chozha king proposed to her right away and awaited her answer.

The princess replied. “It is my father’s wish that I must marry a famous king of the earth. I am sure he will readily accept you as his son in law. Please go and talk to him so that we can get married with her blessings!”

But the Chozha king replied,” I do not have the time or patience to go to your land and speak to your father now. If he will surely accept me, then we an get married in Gandharva Vivaaham. You may tell your father about me when you go back to him.”

The princess also was madly in love with this handsome and brave Chozha king and so they married in Gandharva vivaaham. They spent many happy days together. Then they went back to their respective places.

11. யுவராஜன்

பாதாள லோகம் சென்ற நாக கன்னிகை
பூலோகத்தில் நடந்ததைச் சொன்னாள்.

மணந்தாள் அவள் சோழ மன்னனைஎன
மகிழ்ந்தான் தந்தை மன்னன் தனுசன்.

கந்தர்வ விவாஹத்தின் பலன் கர்ப்பம்,
சுந்தரனான ஆண் மகவு ஒன்று பிறந்தது.

பிறந்த நேரமும், அவன் தோற்றமும்,
சிறந்த அரசனுக்கு மட்டுமே உரியவை.

கண்ணும் கருத்துமாக வளர்த்தனர் அவனை;
கண்மணி வளர்ந்தான் கண்களைக் கவரும்படி.

“என் தந்தை யார்?” எனக் கேட்டான் தாயை.
“உன் தந்தை சோழ மன்னர்!” என்றாள் தாய்.

தந்தையைக் காண விரும்பினான் அவன்;
தடை சொல்லாமல் அனுப்பினர் அவனை.

சோழ மன்னனை வந்து வணங்க- மன்னன்
” தோழமையோடு கேட்டான் நீ யார்?” என.

“வந்தீர்கள் நீங்கள் சேஷாச்சலம் வேட்டையாடி;
தந்தீர்கள் கந்தர்வமணம் அன்னை நாககன்னிக்கு!”

அகன்ற ஆகாயத்தில் எழுந்தது ஓர் அசரீரி ;
“புகன்றது உண்மையே! இவன் உன் மகன்!

ஸ்ரீனிவாசனுக்குத் தொண்டுகள் புரிவான்;
மேதினியில் அழியாத புகழ் அடைவான்!”

அணைத்துக் கொண்டான் அருமை மகனை;
வினவினான் அன்னை, பாட்டனைப் பற்றி .

முதுமை எய்தி விட்டான் சோழ மன்னன்;
புதிய மன்னன் ஆனான் நாககன்னி மகன்.

நாடினான் நாட்டு மக்களின் நன்மைகளை,
நாற்றிசையும் அவன் புகழ் பரவி விரவியது.

#11. The Yuvaraaj

The naagaa princess went back to her land and told her father the events that had taken place on the earth. The Naagaa King was very happy to learn that she had married a famous king worthy of her.


The Princess was pregnant and delivered a handsome son in due course. The time of birth and the appearance of the child indicated that he would become a great king on earth.

He was brought up with great care and a lot of love. One day the Yuvaraj asked the princess, “Mother! please tell me who is my father and where he is now!”


The princess told him her story and her marriage to the Chozha king. The yuvaraj wanted to meet his father. His mother and grandfather bade him farewell and he reached the earth.


He went to the Chozha king and paid his respects him. The Chozha king liked the young boy and asked him, “Who are you? Where are you from? what bring you here?”


The boy replied, ” I am your son born to the Naagaa princess whom you married in a gandharva vivaaham.” At the same time an asareeri was heard saying, “Oh Chozha king! Whatever this boy tells you is the truth. He is your son” . The king embraced the boy and became very happy.


He asked about the welfare of the Naagaa king and princess. The boy grew up to become a strong and intelligent man. He was crowned and made the new king when the Chozha king became too old to rule his land. The new king ruled well and wisely. His fame spread in all the world.

நூதன நோயால் துன்புற்ற மகனின்
வேதனை தாள இயலாத தந்தை,
வியாதிக்கு ஒரு மருந்தைக் கேட்டு
வியப்பிலே ஆழ்ந்து போய்விட்டான்.

மனிதனின் மண்டை ஓடு ஒன்றிலே,
மழை நீரும், நாகப் பாம்பின் விஷமும்,
சுவாதி நட்சத்திரத்தின் உச்சத்தில்
சேகரித்துக் கொடுக்க வேண்டுமாம்!

யாரால் செய்ய இயலும் இவைகள்,
பாரில் அந்தப் பரந்தாமனைத் தவிர?
“சிறுவனைக் காக்க நீதான் எனக்கு
ஒரு வழி காட்ட வேண்டும் ஐயனே!”

மறுநாள் காலையில் உச்சத்தை
சுவாதி நட்சத்திரம் அடையுமாம்.
மற்றவற்றுக்கும் அந்த மாலவனே
சுலப வழிகளைக் காட்ட வேண்டும்!

காலையிலே பிரார்த்தனைகளுடன்
சென்றவன் கண்டான் மண்டையோடு;
காலத்துக்குத் தேடினாலுமே எளிதில்
சென்ற இடத்தில் கிடைக்காத ஒன்று!

மேலும் பிரார்த்திக்கையில் அங்கே
மழை பெய்யத் தொடங்கியது பாரீர்!
“தேவை இன்னும் ஒன்றே ஒன்றுதான்;
தேவன் அதுவும் எனக்கு அருளுவான்!”

மழையில் நனைய வெளியே வந்தது
மண்டூகம் ஒன்று, சப்தமிட்டபடியே.
பாம்பு அதைக் கவ்வ முயன்றபோது,
பாம்பிடம் மாட்டாது, தாவியது தவளை.

விஷம் விழுந்தது, மண்டை ஓட்டில்
விழுந்து கொண்டிருந்த மழை நீரிலே!
“இறைவா! உன் கருணையே கருணை!”
இறையருளால் சிறு மகன் பிழைத்தான்.

முடியுமா, நடக்குமா என்றெல்லாம்,
மனத்தைக் குழப்பிக் கொள்ளற்க!
முயற்சி, நம்பிக்கை ஒன்றானால்,
முடியாதது எது? நடக்காதது எது ?

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD.

A man’s son suffered from a strange disease. The only medicine was the rain water and cobra poison collected in a human skull when the star Swathi was at its uchcham.

The man had staunch faith in God and prayed to Him. The next morning the star swathi would be at its uchcham. He set out to the woods and found a human skull – something which is very weird and rare to locate !

It stared raining. A frog came out to play in the rain and a cobra tried to catch it. The frog escaped but the venom of the snake fell in the skull in which the rain water was falling.

God was truly great. He had fulfilled all the four difficult conditions! The man thanked His grace and rushed home to his son. The medicine saved his son’s life.

Never doubt the immense power of God. Nothing is impossible for Him. With an unshakable faith and a sincere effort from our side we can achieve the nearly impossible miracles also.

[h=1]சாம்பற் கயிறு.[/h]

அரசன் ஒருவன் அறிவித்தான்,
அனைவரையும் வியப்பிலாழ்த்தும்
அதிசயமான புதிய அறிவிப்பு;
அதுவரை யாருமே கேளாதது!

“அறுபது வயது முதியோர்களால்,
ஒரு பயனும் இல்லை, உலகுக்கு!
அவர்கள் பூமி தேவிக்கு வீண் பாரம்,
அவர்கள் உண்ணும் உணவும் வீணே!

நாட்டில் எல்லோருமே இளமையாக,
நல்ல அழகுடன் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
அறுபது வயது தாண்டிய முதியோரை,
அரிய தண்டனையாய் நாடு கடத்துவேன்!”

அரசன் ஆணையை மீற முடியுமா?
அதற்காக முதியோரை விட முடியுமா?
மதி மிகு அமைச்சர், அச்சம் என்பதின்றி
‘மாதக் கெடு’ மன்னனிடம் கேட்டார்.

ஒரு புதிய அறிவிப்பு வெளியானது.
‘ஒரு கயிற்றைச் சாம்பலால் செய்து
தருபவர்க்கு உண்டு பொற்காசுகளின்
அருமையான பரிசுக் கிழி ஒன்று’.

மாதக் கெடு முடியுமுன் வந்தான்,
மன்னன் கேட்டபடியே ஓர் இளைஞன்;
சாம்பற் கயிற்றினை அழகியதொரு
தாம்பாளத்தில் வைத்து எடுத்தபடி!

ஆயிரம் பொற்காசுகளை அளித்தபின்,
தூய அமைச்சர் கேட்டார் அவனிடம்,
“யார் சொல்லித் தந்தார் இதனை?
கூறு உண்மையினை அச்சமின்றி!”

“எழுபது வயது நிரம்பிவிட்ட என்
ஏழைத் தநதையின் எண்ணமே இது;
‘சாம்பல் கயிற்றைச் செய்ய முடியாது;
கயிற்றைச் சாம்பலாக்கி விடு’ என்றார்!

தாம்பாளத்தில் கயிற்றைப் பொசுக்கி,
தங்களிடம் எடுத்து வந்தேன் நான்”
“நாடு கடத்தப்படவேண்டுமா அரசே?
நல்லறிவு உடைய முதியவர்கள்?

எந்த இளைஞனுக்கும், பெண்ணுக்கும்,
இந்தக் கூர்மையான அறிவு இல்லையே!
அறிவு இருப்பவர்களையும் தாங்கள்
பூமிக்கு பாரம் எனக் கருதலாமா?”

அரசன் இது கேட்டு நாணமுற்றான்!
அரசு ஆணையை ரத்து செய்தான்.
அனைவரும் முன்போலவே மிகவும்
ஆனந்தமாக வாழத் துவங்கினர்.
