A poem a day to keep all agonies away!

Dear friends, :pray2:

In all probability Vinayaka PuraaNam will be completed in my WordPress blog today.

Only the last two poems and the conclusion are to be typed and posted.

I have completed writing the Venkatesa Puraanam. The total number of poems is 110. They will start appearing in my WordPress blog soon. (God willing :pray: )

They will appear in the Forum after the completion of the remaining 85 poems in Vinaayaka PuraaNam.

Good news for the Devi Bhaktaas. I have started writing the stories in Devi Bhagavatam by Veda Vyasa since Saturday.

It is a huge work with three volumes and the number of stories may run in to several hundreds.

#39c. பாலலீலைகள் (3)

மாமரமாக மாறினான் வியோமாசுரன்;
மாங்கனிகள் குலுங்கின கிளைகளில்!

கனிகளைப் பறித்து விரும்பி உண்ட,
முனி குமரர்கள் உயிர் இழந்தனர்.

நுழைந்தார் கணேசர் மாமரப் பொந்தில்;
பிளந்தார் மரத்தை உருவத்தைப் பெருக்கி.

இறந்தான் அசுரன் இரண்டு துண்டுகளாகி!
இறந்த குமாரர்கள் உயிர்பெற்று எழுந்தனர்.

சதமகிஷ பக்ஷிணி என்னும் ஓர் அரக்கி;
சாப்பிடுவது தினமும் நூறு எருமைகள்!

அழகிய வடிவெடுத்து வந்தாள் அவ்விடம்;
பழகினாள் நல்ல தேவ ஸ்திரீயைப் போல.

"சிறையில் வாடுகின்றான் என் கணவன்;
சிந்துராஜன் வருத்துகின்றான அவனை!"

நித்திரையில் தேவி இருக்கும் பொழுது,
தந்திரமாகப் பறந்தாள் கணேசனுடன்.

காதைப் பற்றி வலித்தான் கணேசன்;
கதை முடிந்தது அழகிய ராக்ஷசியின்.

ஆமையாக மாறி வந்த ஓர் அசுரனை
அழுத்தினார் முதுகில் கால்களால்.

பேச்சில்லாமல் இறந்து போனான்,
மூச்சு முட்டிய அந்த ஆமை அசுரன்!

குதிரையாக மாறி வந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன்;
குதிரை மேல் கணேசனை அமர்த்தியதும்

வாயு வேகத்தில் பறந்தவன் மாய்ந்து
வாயில் நுரைதள்ளி விழுந்தான் கீழே.

#39c. Baala Leelaa (3)

Vyomaasuran transformed into lovely huge mango tree. Its branches were laden with ripe, fleshy fruits. The rushi kumaaraas ate the fruits and fell down quite dead.

Ganesha entered into a hole in the tree. He grew in his size and tore the tree into two. The asura fell down dead - cut into two parts. All the children who had died after eating the mango fruits were revived by Ganesha.

Satha mahisha bakshiNi was a raakshasi who used to eat one hundred buffaloes each day. She transformed herself into a Deva sthree and came to Devi and Ganesha. She said that her husband had been imprisoned by the cruel Sindhu Raajan and was suffering in his prison.

Devi trusted her. One day while Devi was asleep, the raakshasi took off carrying Ganesha in her arms. Ganesha was not afraid of her. He pulled her ears so hard that the raakshasi fell down quite dead.

Another asuran transformed himself in to a huge tortoise and came to kill Ganesha. The asuran got killed when Ganesha pressed hard with his feet on the back of the tortoise.

Another asuran came transformed into a horse. It looked very attractive. The womenfolk in the ashram made Ganesha sit on the horse. it took off like a streak of lightning and flew in the sky.

Ganesha forced him to fly on with the same speed and go round all the worlds in the universe. The asuran grew so tired that he fell down dead spitting foam from his mouth!

#39d. பால லீலைகள் (4)

துந்துபி என்னும் கொடிய அசுரன்
துடித்தான் கணேசனை முடித்துவிட.

ஆலஹாலம் நிகர்த்த விஷத்தால்
அழகாகச் செய்தான் நாவல்பழம்.

முனிகுமாரனைப் போல வந்தான்;
இனிக்கப் பேசிப் பழங்கள் தந்தான்.

சுவைத்து உண்டார் அதை கணேசன்;
சுவைக்கத் தந்தார் தன் மோதகங்கள்.

உண்ட அசுரன் சுருண்டு விழுந்தான்;
கொண்டது பலி, விஷம் அவனையே.

வழியில் அசுரன் ஒருவன் உருமாறி
விழுந்து கிடந்தான் மலைப் பாம்பாக.

விழுங்கிவிட்டான் கணேச குமாரனை!
அழத் தொடங்கினர் உடன் வந்தவர்கள்.

பிளந்தார் பாம்பை இரண்டு துண்டாக!
வெளிப் பட்டான் நொடியில் கணேசன்.

சோலைக்குச் சென்றனர் ரிஷிபத்தினிகள்;
பாலன் கணேசனையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு.

பக்ஷி உருவில் ஓர் அசுரன் வர - ரிஷி
பத்தினிகள் அஞ்சி ஓடினர் ஆசிரமத்துக்கு.

பாறை மீது மோதிக் கொன்றார் அந்தப்
பட்சியின் கால்களைப் பற்றிய கணேசன்.

விஸ்வகர்மா உருவில் வந்த அசுரன்,
விநாயகருக்கு அணிவித்தான் சிலம்பு.

சிலம்பு வடிவில் இருந்தனர் அசுரர்கள்;
சிலம்புகளை அசைத்தபடி ஆட்டினார்.

சிலம்பு அணிந்த கால்களை உதறிட ,
சிலம்புகள் பறந்தன கால்களிலிருந்து

பறந்து தாக்கின அணிவித்தவனை!
இறந்து விழுந்தனர் மூன்று அசுரரும்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#39d. Baala Leelaa (4)

Dundubi was an asuran. He wished to kill Ganesha. He made Jamoon fruits with a deadly poison. He transformed into a rushi's son and came to Ganesha. He offered the poisonous fruits to Ganesha. After eating the fruits, Ganesha offered the disguised asuran his modakams. The asuran ate the modakam and fell down dead since his poison affected him and not Ganesha.

Another asuran got changed to a huge python. He swallowed Ganesha whole when he passed by with his friends. The friends started wailing and crying. Ganesha tore the snake into two parts and emerged unhurt.

Once the Rushi patnis went to a garden carrying Bala Ganesha with them. An asura came in the form of a giant bird. The rushi patnis got frightened and ran back the ashram carrying Ganesha with them. But Ganesha grabbed the bird, dashed it against a huge rock and killed it.

Three asuraas came to Ganesha. One of them was transformed as Viswakarma and the other two as anklets made by him. The anklets were put around Ganesha' s legs. The asuraas wanted to kill Ganesha but he shook his legs and kicked so violently that the anklets flew off, dashed on the asuran disguised as Viswakarma. All the three asuraas got killed thus.


 
#39e. பாலலீலைகள் (5)

ஓடி வந்தது ஒரு மதயானை - விளை
யாடிக் கொண்டிருந்த சிறுவர்களிடம்.

சிதறி ஓடி விட்டனர் சிறுவர்கள்!
சிந்தனையாலே வரவழைத்த ஒரு

அங்குசத்தை மனதால் கணேசன் ஏவிட,
அங்கேயே விழுந்து மடிந்தது மதயானை.

பிஞ்சு பாலகனுக்கு வயது இரண்டு;
வஞ்சம் கொண்டு வந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன்.

தடாக நீரில் நஞ்சைக் கலந்து விட்டு,
கூடாசுரன் காத்திருந்தான் மறைந்து.

மாய்ந்தனர் தடாக நீரை அருந்தியவர்
தீய்ந்தன மரங்கள், செடி கொடிகள்.

கண்களால் தண்ணீரைக் கணேசன்
கண்டதும் நீங்கியது நச்சுத்தன்மை!

துளிர்த்தன மரங்கள், செடி கொடிகள்,
பிழைத்தனர் நஞ்சினால் மாண்டவர்.

மூன்றாவது கண்ணைத் திறந்து நோக்க,
மறைந்த அசுரன் எரிந்து சாம்பலானான்.

மீனாக மாறி ஒளிந்திருந்தான் அசுரன் ,
முனிகுமாரர்கள் நீராடும் தடாகத்தில்.

கரங்களால் மீனைக் கணேசன் பிடித்து,
கரையில் எறிந்ததும் இறந்தான் அசுரன்.

மலையாக மாறி நின்ற அசுரனை கணேசன்,
மணலாக்கி விட்டார் ஒரு ஹூங்காரத்தால்.

#39e. Baala Leelaa (5)

A mad elephant came charging at the children playing with Ganesha. They all ran away frightened except Ganesha. He made an ankusam appear by his command and aimed it at the mad elephant. The ankusam split the head of the elephant into two and the elephant fell down and died.

Ganesha was now two years old. An asuran named Gudaasuran came there with a vengeance. He poisoned the water of the pond and waited among the clouds invisible to everyone. Those who drank the water of the pond dropped dead and the plants and trees withered due to the poison.

Ganesha stared at the water of the pond and the poison in the pond was destroyed by his mere glance. Then he looked at the Gudaasuran hiding among the clouds with his third fiery eye and reduced the asuran into ashes. The trees and plants were revived and the people who died were resurrected by Ganesha.

Another asuran became a fish in the pond of water, used by those living in the ashram. Ganesha caught the fish with his bare hands and threw it on the banks of the ponds. The asuran got killed by the impact on the earth.

Another asuran became a huge mountain and blocked Ganesha's path. The mountain was shattered into rubble by the hoonkaara sound made by Ganesha.

 
#39f. பால லீலைகள் (6)

கணேசனுக்கு வயது நான்கு இப்போது!
நினைத்தவுடன் குடிக்க வேண்டும் பால்.

பூஜையில் இருந்த அன்னை சொன்னாள்,
"பூஜையைக் கெடுக்காதே கண்ணா!" என்று.

கணேசன் மாறிவிட்டான் கண நேரத்தில்,
அனைவரும் பூஜிக்கும் சதாசிவமாகவே!

கரங்கள் பத்துடன், முகங்கள் ஐந்துடன்.
கண்டதும் அதிர்ந்து போனாள் அன்னை.

"பூஜிக்கும் தெய்வத்திடமா சொன்னேன்,
பூஜையைக் கெடுக்காதே என்று நான்?"

வினோத அசுரன் வந்தான் ஒருநாள்;
விளையாட்டுக் காட்டினான் சிறாருக்கு.

விழுங்கினான் அவர்களை வாயில் போட்டு;
வெளியே வரச்செய்தான் காதுகளின் வழியே

சென்றனர் அவன் மூக்கில் புகுந்து உள்ளே
வந்தனர் வெளியே காதுகள், வாய் வழியே.

கணேசனையும் எடுத்து விழுங்கினான்;
கணேசனை வெளியில் வரவிடவில்லை

தோன்றினார் தேவியின் திருமுகத்தில்;
கொன்றார் அசுரனை ஓங்கி அறைந்து!

வந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன் ஒட்டகவடிவில்!
வந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன் நிழலைப் பிடிக்க!

வந்தான் ஓர் அசுரன் பந்தாடுவதற்கு;
வந்த அசுரர் எவரும் திரும்பவில்லை

விஷமம் செய்வான் வீடுகளில் கணேசன்!
வினயமாகக் காட்சி தருவான் தன் வீட்டில்!

சகலரும் உணர்ந்தனர் வெகு விரைவில்,
சர்வேஸ்வரனே அவதரிதுள்ளான் என்று!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#39f. Baala Leelaa.

Ganesha was now four years old. He must have his milk whenever he wanted to drink. He went and disturbed Devi who was in her pooja. Devi told him,"Do not disturb my pooja please!"

Ganesha transformed into Lord Sadaasivam with five faces and ten arms. Devi realized that Ganesha was not different from the God she was worshiping.

A strange asura came there one day. He played with the children a strange game. He swallowed them whole and let them walk out of his mouth through his ears. He let them enter through his nose and come out through his mouth and ears.

Ganesha was also swallowed by him but he did not allow Ganesha to come out. Ganesha appeared from Devi's face and killed the asura by slapping him very hard.

Many more asuras came there to kill Ganesha. One asuran came as a camel, another to catch his chaayaa and another to play a game of ball. None of them went back alive.

Ganesha would play pranks in the houses of those who lived in the ashram. When they go to Devi, to complain about him, he would be seen in his own home sitting quietly. Very soon everyone knew that it was none other than the Supreme god who had been born as Ganesha.
 
#39g. பாலலீலைகள் (7)

பரசு, பாசம், தாமரை, அங்குசம்;
பரிசாக அளித்தான் விஸ்வகர்மா.

"என்ன இவை?" என்றார் கணேசன்,
சொன்னான் கதையை விஸ்வகர்மா.

"சூரியனுக்கு மணம் செய்வித்தேன்
சமுஞை என்ற என்னுடைய மகளை.

சாயையை விட்டு விட்டுத் திரும்பினாள்,
சமுஞை சூட்டைத் தாங்க முடியாததால்.

தேடிக் கொண்டு வந்தான் சூரிய தேவன்;
ஓடினாள் வனத்துக்குப் பெண் குதிரையாகி.

கடைந்தேன் சூரியனின் உருவத்தை நான்;
தொடர்ந்தான் அவளை ஆண் குதிரையாகி!

அஸ்வினி தேவர்கள் ஜனித்தனர் காட்டில்.
அன்று கடைந்த பொடியில் செய்யப்பட்ட

சூலம் உள்ளது சிவபெருமான் கையில்;
மேலும் உள்ளவற்றை ஏற்க வேண்டும் "

அரிய பரிசுகளை ஏற்றார் கணேசன்;
பரிசுகள் நான்கும் நான்கு கரங்களில்!

மாறி வந்தான் விருகாசுரன் செந்நாயாக;
மாய்த்து வீழ்த்தியது அங்குசம் அவனை.

#39g. Baala Leelaa (7)

Viswakarmaa presented Ganesha with a parasu, a paasam, an ankusam and a lotus flower. Ganesha wondered what they were and why they were given to him. Viswakarmaa related the details about those gifts.

Viswakarmaa said, "I got my daughter Samugnai married to the Sun God. His intense heat was unbearable. So she left her shadow there and came back to me. The Sun God came in search of her. She ran away from him once again. She changed herself into a mare and went to the forest.

I chiseled the Image of the Sun God. He changed into a male horse and followed his wife to the forest. They were blessed with the Aswini Kumaaraas there.

From the powder which was wasted during the chiseling I made a soolam, a parasu, a paasam, an ankusam and a lotus flower. Lord Siva has the soolam now. Here are the other articles made by me. Kindly accept these as my gifts"

Ganesha received the four gifts with his four hands. He was very happy with those rare gifts. Vrugaasuran came there changed into a wild dog. Ganesha released his ankusam. It killed the asura on the spot.
 
#39h. பாலலீலைகள் (8)

கணேசனுக்கு அகவை ஏழு ஆனது;
பணிந்து செல்வர் முனிவர்கள் வந்து.

காசியப முனிவரும், அதிதி தேவியும்
கணேசனிடம் வந்து அடி பணிந்தனர்.

பதின்மூவர் ஆவர் காசியபர் மனைவியர்;
பகை கொண்டவர் வினதையும், கத்ருவும்

வினதையைச் சிறையில் இட்டவள் கத்ரு.
வினதையின் வீட்டுக்கு வந்தாள் கத்ரு.

மறக்கவில்லை வினதை பகைமையை;
திறக்கவில்லை வாயைச் சக்களத்தியிடம்!

ஜடாயு வினதையின் மகன்களில் ஒருவன்
கடிந்து பேசினான் அவன் மாற்றாந்தாயிடம்.

தலைமுடியைப் பிடித்து இழுத்துச் சென்று
தள்ளினான் தெருவில் இரக்கம் இல்லாமல்.

கத்ருவின் புதல்வர்கள் கொடிய நாகங்கள்;
கத்ரு குறை கூறினாள் வினதையைப் பற்றி.

"பழி தீர்க்கச் சிறை செய்யுங்கள் ஜடாயுவை!"
மொழி கேட்ட நாகர்கள் சீறிப் புறப்பட்டனர்!

வினதையின் மகன்கள் பறவை இனத்தவர்!
சேனன், சம்பாதி, ஜடாயு ஆகிய மூவரும்

நகங்களால் கீறி, அலகுகளால் கொத்தி
நாகங்களைச் சின்னா பின்னப் படுத்தினர்.

பறந்து, பறந்து தாக்கியவர்களிடமிருந்து
பயந்து, பயந்து ஓடி விட்டனர் நாகர்கள்.

வலிய நாகங்கள் வந்தனர் எண்மர்;
எளிதாக மூவரையும் சிறை செய்தனர்.

தாங்கவில்லை துயரம் வினதைக்கு!
தயங்காமல் கேட்டாள் கணவனிடம்,

"நாகர்களை வென்று மகன்களை மீட்க,
நான் பெற வேண்டும் வலிய மகனை!'

#39h. Baala Leelaa (8)

Now Ganesha was seven years old. Rushis would come by to pay him their respect. Once sage Kasyapa and Aditi Devi came by and visited Ganesha.

Sage Kasyapa had thirteen wives and Aditi was one of them. There was deep animosity between his two other wives - Kadru and Vinataa. Kadru was the mother of all the snakes and Vinataa was the mother of all the birds.

Kadru had tricked once and imprisoned Vinataa. So when Kadru visited Vinataa's house, Vinataa did not speak to her since her enmity was still fresh in her mind.

Jataayu, one of the sons of Vinataa, spoke to Kadru very harshly. He dragged her by her hair and pushed her down on the street. Kadru became very angry by this rude behavior and told her sons the snakes, "You must avenge the insult inflicted on me by Jataayu. Go and imprison him"

The snakes went in great anger. Jataayu and his two other brothers Senan and Sampaati fought valorously with the angry snakes. They used their mighty claws and beaks and hurt the snakes very badly. The snakes took off frightened by the aerial attack of the birds. Now eight of the mightiest snakes came there and imprisoned the three bird brothers very easily.

Vinataa became very upset. She payed to her husband, "Give me a son who will be strong enough to fight with the snakes and free my three sons from their prison"

 
#39i. பாலலீலைகள் (9)

தேற்றினார் வினதையை காசியப முனிவர்;
"பெறுவாய் ஒரு மகனை நீ விரும்பியபடியே!

உருவாகும் ஒரு முட்டை உன்னிடம் - அதை
உடைக்க வல்லவர் கணேசகுமாரர் மட்டுமே!

மயூரம் வெளிவரும் அந்த முட்டையிலிருந்து;
மயூர வாஹனர் ஆகிவிடுவார் கணேசகுமாரர்!

தண்டிப்பார் துஷ்ட நாகங்களை - வெளியே
கொண்டுவருவார் உன் அருமை மக்களை!"

உருவானது ஒரு முட்டை அவள் கருவில்;
பரிவுடன் பாதுகாத்தாள் அவள் அதனை!

விளையாடும் போது கணேசர் சிறாருடன்,
விநோதப் பறவையைக் கண்டார் வனத்தில்

பறவை உருவில் வந்திருந்தவன் அசுரன்;
பறவையைப் பிடிக்கச் சென்றார் கணேசன்.

"தனிமைப் படுத்தி அழைத்துச் சென்றால்
எளிமை ஆகும் கணேசனைக் கொல்வது!"

பிடிபடுபவன் போல நடந்து நடந்து சென்று
பிரித்துவிட்டான் கணேசனை பிறரிடமிருந்து.

எண்ணத்தை அறிந்து கொண்ட கணேசன்
ஏவினார் தன் கைப் பாசத்தை அவன் மீது

"பச்சிளம் பாலகன் கொன்று விட்டான்;
பட்சி உருவில் வந்த கொடிய அசுரனை"

கேட்டவுடன் புரிந்து கொண்டாள் வினதை;
ஓட்டமும் நடையுமாகச் சென்றாள் அவரிடம்.

பாதுகாத்து வைத்திருந்த முட்டையைத் தன்
பத்து விரல் நகங்களால் கீறினார் கணேசர்.

அழகிய மயில் ஒன்று வெளி வந்தவுடன்
அதன் மேல் ஆரோஹணித்தார் கணேசன்!

#39i. Baala Leelaa (9)

Sage Kasyapa consoled his wife Vinataa,"You will beget a mighty son as per your wish. An egg will be formed in your womb. Only Ganesha will be able to break it open. A strong peacock will emerge from the egg. Ganesha will accept it as his vaahanam. He will be known as Mayoora Vaahanan. He will punish the wicked snakes and free your sons from their prison."

An egg formed in Vinataa's womb. When she delivered the egg, she guarded it well and waited for Ganesha's arrival. One day Ganesha was playing with the other muni kumaaraas. He saw a strange bird in the forest. He wanted to catch it. The bird was in fact an asura - changed into an attractive bird.

The bird-asura acted as if he was within the reach of Ganesha but he would move on whenever Ganesha tried to catch him. His aim was to separate Ganesha from the other children so that killing him would become easier.

Ganesha read the thoughts of the asuran. He released his paasam which killed the asuran then and there. Everybody shouted, "Ganesha has killed an asuran who had come here changed into as a bird!"

Vinataa heard the shouting. She knew the time had come for her son to emerge from the egg. She brought the egg to Ganesha. He tore it apart using his finger nails. A beautiful and strong peacock emerged from the egg. Ganesha sat on its back and became the Mayoora Vaahana Ganesha.

 
#39j . பாலலீலைகள் (10)

"தாங்கள் விழைவது என்ன?' எனத்
"தாய் கோருவது மக்கள் நலனையே!

நாகர்கள் சிறை செய்துள்ள மகன்களை
வேகமாக விடுவிக்க வேண்டும் நீங்கள்!

எக்காலத்திலும் மாறாத பக்தி வேண்டும்;
முக்காலம் தொழும் பாக்கியம் வேண்டும்."

தி ரும்பினார் வரங்களை அளித்துவிட்டு;
திவ்ய நாமம் ஆனது மயூரேஸ்வரர் என்று.

நீராடச் சென்றார் குளத்துக்கு மயில் ஏறி;
நீராட வந்தாள் வாசுகிப் பாம்பின் குமாரி.

கவரப் பட்டாள் தெய்வீக காந்தியால்;
விவரங்களைக் கேட்டாள் விரும்பி வந்து.

"மயூரேஸ்வரர் என் பெயர். சிவன் மகன்" என
"மறுக்காமல் என் பூஜையை ஏற்க வேண்டும்!"

'தருணம் நெருங்கி விட்டது அம் மூன்று
பறவை மகன்களை விடுதலை செய்திட!'

தடாகக் கரையில் நின்றனர் தோழர்கள்;
தான் சென்றார் நாகலோகம் அவளுடன்.

ஆசனம் அளித்துப் உபசாரம் செய்து;
பூசை செய்தபின் சென்றனர் சபைக்கு.

அலட்சியம் செய்தான் அவரை வாசுகி;
அவரிடம் பறிகொடுத்தான் ரத்தினத்தை!

மூர்ச்சித்தான் வாசுகி சக்தி குன்றியதால்!
மூலைக்கு ஒருவர் ஓடினர் அஞ்சியதால்!

விடுவித்தார் ஜடாயு, சம்பாதி, சேனனை!
நொடியில் அடக்கினார் எதிர்த்த வாசுகியை.

களைத்த வாசுகியை எடுத்துத் தன் விரல்
கணையாழியாக அணிந்தார் மயூரேசர்.

#39j. Baala Leela (10)

"Revered Mother! what is your wish?" Ganesha asked Vinata. She replied, "Just like all the other mothers in the world, I wish for the welfare of my sons. I pray to you to free my sons imprisoned by the wicked naagaas. Please grant me constant bhakti towards you and the good fortune of worshiping you always"

Ganesha granted those boons and went back. Now his new name became Mayuresar. One day, he went to the pond on his peacock, to take his bath. At the same time the daughter of the snake Vasuki also came there with her friends. She was attracted by the aura of Ganesha and asked about him.

Ganesha introduced himself as Mayuresar - the son of Siva. The Naaga kanya wanted to do pooja and aaraadhanaa to Ganesha. She invited him to go with her to her land of Naagaas. Ganesha left behind his friends on the bank of the pond and went with her.

She did puja to Ganesha and offered him her hospitality before taking him to her father Vasuki and his Durbar. Vasuki was very arrogant and ignored Ganesha. To get even with him, Ganesha plucked off the naagaratnam from Vasuki. He fell faint since he had lost all his power stored in the gem. The whole durbar ran in confusion. Ganesha released the three sons of Vinata namely Jataayu, Sampaati and Senan.

By then Vasuki woke up and came charging at Ganesha. Ganesha subdued him in a moment. He lifted Vasuki and wore him as an ornamental ring on one of his fingers.


 
39k. பாலலீலைகள்(11)


சினந்தான் ஆதிசேஷன் விவரங்களை அறிந்து;
கணமும் நினைக்கவில்லை இறைவன் என்று!

எதிர்த்தான் தன் நாகர்கள் படையுடன் வந்து;
உதித்தது மயூரம் கணேசர் நினைத்தவுடனே!

அதிர்ந்தன நாகங்கள் மயிலைக் கண்டவுடன்;
ஒளிந்தன ஓடிச்சென்று நான்கு திசைகளிலும்!

“விரட்டி விடுவாய் நாகர்களின் சேனையை!
விரட்டிப் பிடி விடாதே ஆதிசேஷனை!” என

பறந்தது மயில் தன் சிறகுகளை அசைத்து!
பயந்தன நாகங்கள் வீசிய பெருங்காற்றில்!

மூச்சு முட்டி அவர்கள் சிதறி ஓடிவிடப்
பேச்சின்றி நின்றான் ஆதிசேஷன் அங்கே!

ஆணவத்தை அடக்கி, அறிவைப் புகட்ட
அணிந்தார் மயூரேசர் தன் அரைநாணாக!

நாகலோகத்தில் இருந்து வெளிவந்தபின்,
நடந்தவற்றை அறிந்து சினம் கொண்டார்.

கொக்கு வடிவில் வந்த அசுரன் தன்னிடம்
சிக்கிய முனிகுமாரரை விழுங்கினானாம்!

அழித்து வீழ்த்தினார் மாயக் கொக்கை!
விழித்து எழுந்தனர் உயிருடன் சிறுவர்.

காட்டுப் பன்றியாக வந்தான் ஓரசுரன்!
காட்டெருமையாக வந்தான் ஓரசுரன்!

வந்தவர் திரும்பிச் செல்லவில்லை!
வந்த பாதை ஒருவழிப்பாதை ஆனது!

முனி புங்கவர்கள் கனிவுடன் வந்தனர்;
பணிந்து சென்றனர் கணேச குமாரனை.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
#39k. Baala leelaa (11)

Aadiseshan became violent when he heard of these happenings. He forgot that Ganesha was the God Supreme. He gathered his naaga sena and came for a battle with Ganesha.

Ganesha contemplated on his mayuram and it appeared there immediately. The snakes were terrified by the sight of the magnificent mayuram. They ran and tried to escape. Ganesha commanded the peacock,"Chase off all those snakes. Do not spare Aadi seshsan."

The peacock flew moving its powerful wings. The wind created was so strong that the snakes felt breathless. Aadisehan stood all alone there. Ganesha grabbed him, subdued him and wore him around his waist as an arai naaN.

While Ganesha was visiting the land of Naagaas, an asuran had come there. He had assumed the form of a giant crane. He gobbled up all the little boys he could get hold of. Mayuresar killed the crane. All the children gobbled up by him came out alive and safe.

Two asuras appeared as a wild boar and a wild buffalo. They too got killed by Ganesha. The path leading to Ganesha became an one way traffic. Whosoever came to him, never went back alive.

The rushis and sages knew the greatness of Ganesha. They would come and worship him frequently.

 
#39l. பாலலீலைகள் (12)

புலியாக மாறி வந்தான் ஓரசுரன்;
கிலியால் நடுங்கினர் வனவாசிகள்.

அடித்துக் கொன்றது புலி அவர்களை;
அழிக்கச் சென்றது கணேசரின் பாசம்.

அழித்து விட்டது புலியாகிய அசுரனை;
இழுத்து வந்தது யமனைக் கணேசரிடம்.

"அடியேன் செய்த தவறு என்ன சுவாமி?
பிடித்து வந்தது பாசம் என்னை இங்கே!"

"பறித்தாய் ஆசிரமவாசிகளின் உயிரை;
பாசம் இழுத்து வந்தது அதனால் தான்.

"இழைக்கவில்லையே நான் அபசாரம்;
அளிக்கப்பட்ட தொழிலைச் செய்கிறேன்.

வாழ்நாள் முடிந்தவர்களை மட்டுமே,
வீழ்த்துவேன் எனக்கிட்ட ஆணைப்படி.

பிழை செய்திருந்தால் அறியாமையால்
பிழை பொறுத்து மன்னியுங்கள் சுவாமி!

"நெருங்கக் கூடாது என் பக்தர்களிடம்
மறந்துவிடாதே இதை இனியென்றுமே!

புலியால் கொல்லப் பட்டவர்கள் மீண்டும்
புவிமேல் வரவேண்டும் உயிருடன் மீண்டு."

விட்டால் போதும் என்று ஓடி, உயிரோடு
விட்டு விட்டான் வனவாசிகளை யமன்.

கணேசரைக் கொல்ல வந்த அசுரன்
காது, மூக்கு அறுபட்டுச் சென்றான்.

சிந்துராஜனிடம் சென்று சொன்னான் தான்
சந்தித்த இன்னல்களை வெகு விவரமாக!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
#39l. Baala Leelaa (12)

An asuran came changed into a tiger. The people living in the forest were terrorized. The tiger killed many of them. Ganesha released his psasam on the tiger. It killed the tiger, tied and dragged Yama to Ganesha.

"What is the crime I have committed of oh lord?" Yama asked Ganesha. "Why has your paasam dragged me here?"

"You killed the people living in this ashram. That is why you have been dragged here by my paasam" Ganesha replied to Yama.

"I have not committed any crime oh lord! I just did my duty and killed those whose life span had expired. If in performing my duty, I have committed any mistake, please forgive me."

"Never go near my devotees. Always remember this in the future. All those who were killed by the tiger must be sent back here alive immediately!"

Yama agreed to this and hurried back to his world. He sent back alive all those people who got killed by the tiger.

Another asuran came to kill Ganesha. He barely escaped with his life but his ears and nose got chopped off. He returned to Sindhu Raajan alive and elaborated all his sufferings.

#39m. கனலாசுரன்

சபையில் இருந்தவர்கள் கேட்டனர்
சபைக்கு வந்த அசுரன் குறைகளை.

"ஒருவராலும் கொல்ல முடியவில்லை;
ஒருவரையும் விட்டு வைக்கவில்லை.

மாயவிக் குழந்தை தான் கணேசன்;
மாய்க்கும் வழியும் தெரியவில்லை."

நொந்து போயிருந்த சிந்து ராஜனை
நோகடித்தன இந்த வார்த்தைகள்!

"அழித்திருக்க வேண்டும் பிறந்த அன்றே!
அழித்திருக்க வேண்டும் நானே சென்று! "

"கனலாசுரன் இருக்கையில் கவலை ஏன்?
கனலை ஒத்த பராக்கிரமம் கொண்டவன்.

வரம் பெற்றவன், மரணம் இல்லாதவன்,
வீரம் நிறைந்தவன், வெற்றிகொள்பவன்!"

கவலைகளை மறந்தான் சிந்துராஜன்;
கட்டித் தழுவினான் கனலாசுரனை.

அசுரவீரர்கள் படை நடந்தனர் உடனே;
ஆசிரமவாசிகள் மீது ஆரவாரத்துடன்.

துதித்தனர் அனைவரும் பரமசிவனை;
அளித்தார் சூலயுதத்தைக் கணேசனுக்கு.

நினைத்த மாத்திரத்தில் தோற்றுவித்தார்
சேனைகள் நால்வகையினரை கணேசன்!

கையில் பரசு, பாச, அங்குசத்துடன் அவர்
மயில் மீது ஆரோஹணித்துச் சென்றார்.

தொடங்கி நடந்தது கடுமையான போர்.
தொடங்கினர் அசுரர் மாயப் போரினை.

#39m. Baala Leelaa (13)

All the asuras gathered in the durbar listened to the tale of woes related by the asuran - who managed to come back alive.

"No one could kill Ganesha, but he manages to kill everyone sent by us. He is a tricky child no doubt. None of us can figure out a fruitful plan to do away with him"

Sindhu Raajan was already gloomy and this made him gloomier and sadder. He spoke to himself aloud, ' I must have killed him the day he was born. I must have gone by myself to do it!'

One of his ministers spoke to him, "Why do you worry oh king? We still have Kanalaasuran among us. He has as much power as the burning fire. He has received several boons. He has no death. He is valorous and he has never been defeated by anyone."

Sindhu Raajan became happy on heaing these words. He hugged Kanalaasuran. The army of asura started walking towards the ashram almost immediately.

Those who lived in the ashram took refuge in lord Siva. He gave Ganesha his Soolaayudham and blessed him. Ganesha created a huge chaturanga sena just by his sankalpam. He sat on his peacock with his parasu, paasam and ankusam and went to the battle field.

A terrible war followed and the asuras started doing war by trickery.
