#37b. மல்லாலர்

"வேதங்கள் அழிந்து போனதாக எண்ணி
வேதனை கொள்ளாதே பிரம்மதேவனே!

வேதம், ஆகமம், புராணங்கள் மூன்றும்
பேதமின்றி ஆயின எனது முக்கண்கள்.

கமலாசுரனை அழிப்பேன் விரையில்;
கவலையை ஒழித்து விடு!" என்றார்.

சாந்தம் அடைந்தான் பிரம்ம தேவன்;
சத்யலோகம் திரும்பிச் சென்றான்.

அழகிய அந்தணன் ஆனான் கணபதி;
பழகிய கணங்கள் ஆயினர் சீடர்கள்.

சுந்தர ஆசிரமத்தைச் சென்று சேர்ந்திட,
வந்து பணிந்தனர் அங்கிருந்த முனிவர்.

"உம்மைக் கண்டது எம் கவலை மறைந்தது;
எம்மை கௌரவித்துத் தங்குவீர் இங்கேயே "

"மல்லாலர் என்பது அந்தணன் என் பெயர்;
சொல்லக் கேட்டேன் நால்வேதங்கள் பற்றி

களவு போயினவாம் வேதங்கள் நான்கும்;
தளர்ந்து போயினவாம் நீதிநெறிமுறைகள்.

என்னிடம் உள்ளன அதே நால்வேதங்கள்;
உதவுகின்றேன் நான் இயன்ற வரையில்!"

இருக்கக இடம் தந்தனர் அவருக்கு;
திரும்ப உபதேசித்தார் வேதங்களை!

தர்மங்கள் மீண்டும் தழைத்தோங்கின;
கர்மங்கள் மீண்டும் நீதிநெறிப்பட்டன;

உலகில் நிகழும் மாற்றங்களை எல்லாம்
உணர்ந்தான் கமலாசுரன் உள்ளது உள்ளபடி!

சங்காசுரனிடம் சென்று செப்பினான் அவன்
எங்கும் வேதங்கள் மீண்டும் தழைப்பதை!

#37b. Mallaalar

Vinayaka spoke to Brahma, "Do not feel sad that The Vedas have been destroyed. My three eyes are the Aagamam, Vedam and PuraaNam. I will spread The Vedas again. I will destroy Kamalaasuran soon. " Brahma got consoled and went back to his Satyalokam with his mind at peace.

Vinayaka transformed himself into a handsome brahmachaari. His gaNaas became his disciples. The group went to the Sundara Ashram. The rushis living in that Ashram felt reassured by the divine look of the brahmachaari. They came running to the group and welcomed them heartily.

"Your very appearance has reassured us that all is not lost yet. Please stay in our ashram and honor us with your august presence."

Vinayaka spoke to them,"My name is Mallaalar. I heard about the Vedas being stolen by the asuras and Dharma being disrupted in the world. I have the Vedas with me. I can help you to spread them again on earth"

Mallalar and his disciples stayed in the Sundara ashram. Everyday the rushis learned The Vedas from this divine brahmachaari. Dharma was reestablished and the confusions spreading in the world was controlled by the spread of Vedas.

Kamalaasuran noticed all these changes and went to his elder brother Sankaasuran and reported, "The Vedas are not dead. The are alive and spreading very fast."

#37c . மாயப் படை

"தேவர்கள் வலிமையை அழித்திட,
வேதங்களை ஒளித்தேன் கடலில்.

சுந்தர ஆசிரமத்துக்கு வந்துள்ளான்,
அந்தணன் ஒருவன் சீடர்களுடன்.

வேதப் புத்தகங்களை வைத்துள்ளனாம்!
வேதங்களை மீண்டும் பரப்புகின்றானாம்!

யாகங்கள் தடையின்றி நடந்து - அவிர்
பாகங்கள் பெறுகின்றனர் தேவர்கள்!".

"தேவர்களே அஞ்சி ஓடுவர் நம்மிடம்
கேவலம் அந்தணணிடம் அச்சமா?

படையுடன் புறப்பட்டுப் போ நீ உடனே,
அடக்கிவிட்டு வா அந்த அந்தணனை!"

'இந்திரனனே அஞ்சும் போது அந்த
அந்தணணிடம் என்ன மாயமோ?'

சதுரங்க சேனையுடன் புறப்பட்டு
சேர்ந்தான் சுந்தர ஆசிரமம் அசுரன்

அசரீரி கூறியது அவன் படைஎடுப்பை.
அச்சம் நிலவியது சுந்தர ஆசிரமத்தில்

மல்லாலர் ஊக்கப்படுத்தினார் முனிவரை
சொல்லோடு நில்லாமல் விந்தை புரிந்தார்

ஆசிரமம் முழுவதும் படை வீரர்கள்
ஆயுதம் ஏந்தி நின்றனர் நொடியில்

கமலாசுரன் படை வந்து சேர்ந்ததும்
கடலெனக் கலந்தன இருபடைகளும்.

#37c. The battle

"I stole and hid the Vedas under the sea water in order to make the Deva weaker. A brahmachaari has come to Sundara Ashram with his disciples. He has the Vedas with him. He is teaching the Vedas and spreading Dharma in the world again. Yaaga and Yagna have been resumed. The Deva get their share of the havis and are becoming stronger now." Kamalaasuran told his elder brother Sankaasuran.

"Even the Deva run away at our sight. Are you afraid of a little Brahmin my dear brother? Take an army with you and teach that Brahmin a good lesson. " Sankaasuran told Kamalaasuran.

Kamalaasurn thought to himself, ' When Indra himself is afraid of us, this little Brahmin seems quite unafraid. I will take a huge army with me in any case'

He left with his chaturanga sena to Sundara ashram. An asareeri warned the rushis of the ashram that Kamalaasuran was invading with his army. Fear prevailed everywhere. Mallaalar encouraged them and said, "We will fight his army with our own army'"

Soldiers armed to teeth appeared out of nothing and from nowhere. Soon a huge army stood in the Sundara Ashram - ready to meet Kamalaasuran's army. As soon as it arrived, the two armies merged like two roaring oceans.

#37d . கடும் போர்

நாகாஸ்திரத்தை எய்தான் கமலாசுரன்;
நாகவிஷம் தாக்கியது ஐயன் படையை!

சக்கராயுதத்தை விடுத்தார் விநாயகர்;
சீக்கிரமாக அது அழித்தது நாகங்களை.

எய்தான் கமலாசுரன் தன் சக்கரத்தை;
ஐயனிடம் வந்தது தீப்பொறிகளுடன்!

ஐயன் நீட்டிய அவர் சக்கரத்திலேயே
ஐக்கியமானது அசுரன் விட்ட சக்கரம்!

மழு ஆயுதத்தை எய்தான் அசுரன்;
மழுங்கிய ஆயுதம் ஆனது மழுவும்!

வருணாஸ்திரத்தை எய்தான் அசுரன்;
பெருமழை பெய்தது ஊழிக் காற்றோடு!

மேகங்களை வரவழைத்தார் விநாயகர்
வேகமாகக் குடித்துவிட்டன அவை நீரை .

அஸ்த்திரங்கள் பல விடுத்தான் அசுரன்
அஸ்திரங்கள் பதிலுக்கு விடுத்தார் ஐயன்.

ஆதவன் விழுந்தான் மேற்குதிசையில்
போதும் போரெனத் திரும்பினர் பாசறை

பேதமின்றி அசுரர் மாய்த்த படைவீரர்கள்
சேதமின்றி உயிருடன் எழுந்தனர் மீண்டும்

"அசுரரை சம்ஹரிக்கத் தேவை உபாயம்!"
ஐங்கரன் அணுகினான் முனிபுங்கவர்களை!

"கரி, பரி, ரதம் என்று வாகனங்களில்
இருந்து போரிடுகின்றான் கமலாசுரன்!

தங்களுக்குத் தேவை தகுந்த வாஹனம்
தருவிக்கலாம் அதையும் யாகம் செய்து"

#37d. The battle

Kamalaasuran shot his Naagaasthram. The deadly poison of the snakes afflicted the soldiers of Vinayaka. He shot his chakraayudam. It destroyed all the snakes and their poison.

Kamalaasuran shot his chakraayudam now. It sped fast towards Vinayaka spitting fiery sparks. When God put forward his own chakram held in his hand, the chakram released by the asuran merged with the chakram of God.

Kamalaasuran threw his mazhu and it was just as good as any blunt instrument. Kamalaasuran shot his VaruNaasthram. Heavy rain poured, accompanied by a stormy wind.

Vinayaka summoned the clouds which promptly drank off all the water of the rain. Kamalaasuran kept shooting one asthram after another. Vinayaka shot the compatible asthram which could destroy his asthrams.

The sun set in the west and the war was suspended for the day. All the soldiers killed by the asuran's army were resurrected by Vinayaka.

Vinayaka approached the rushis and said, "We need a fool-proof plan to destroy the asuran. " The rushis said,

"The asuran has many vaahanas like elephants, horses and the chariots. You must also get a suitable vaahanam to fight him well. We can perform a yagna and get a powerful vaahanam suitable for you!"

#37e. மயில் வாஹனன்

"யாககுண்டத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்படும் மயிலை
வாகனமாகக் கொண்டால் வெற்றி நிச்சயம்!"

மல்லாலர் மகிழ்ந்தார் முனிவர் சொல்லால்;
"உள்ளம் விரும்பியதை உரைத்தீர்கள் " என்று

நடந்தன வேள்விக்கான ஏற்பாடுகள்;
நடந்து முடிந்தது வேள்வியும் நன்கு.

யாக குண்டத்திலிருந்து வெளிப்பட்டது.
வாகனமாகும் பிரம்மாண்ட மயில் ஒன்று.

மூவுலகும் மகிழ்ந்தது மயிலைக் கண்டு;
பூமழை பொழிந்தனர் தேவர் மகிழ்ந்து.

புறப்பட்டார் யுத்தத்துக்குப் மயில் மீது
புத்திதேவி சொன்னாள் "நான் செல்வேன்"

புன்னகை புரிந்து ஆமோதித்தார் ஐயன்.
புறப்பட்டாள் புத்தி தேவி விமானத்தில்

யுத்தக் களத்தை அடைந்தாள் புத்தி தேவி
சக்தியினால் உற்பத்தி செய்தாள் வீரரை

வியூகத்தில் நிறுத்தினாள் வீரரை - மதி
யூகத்துடன் நடத்தினாள் போரினை

அசுரர்கள் கை ஓங்கிய போதெல்லாம்
அளவற்ற சினம் கொண்டாள் தேவி.

சினத்தில் தோன்றினான் சிறந்த வீரன்
மனதில் மகிழ்ந்தாள் மகனைக் கண்டு

"சுந்தர ஆசிரமத்தில் சித்தி தேவியுடன்
தந்தை அமர்ந்துள்ளார் மயூரேசராக!

வணங்கி ஆசிகள் பெற்று மீண்டும்
வருவாய் யுத்த களத்துக்கு" என்றாள்.

மகனைக் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தார் பெருமான்
மகனுக்குப் பெயரிட்டார் லாபன் என்று

அனைத்து ஆசிகளையும் வழங்கிய பின்
அனுப்பினர் அவனை அமர்க்களத்துக்கு.

#37e. Mayooresar

"From the yaaga kundam a peacock will emerge. It will be a suitable vaahanam for you!" The rushis told Mallaalar. They got everything ready for the yagna and performed it successfully.

A huge peacock emerged from the yaaga kundam. The whole world felt happy to see the peacock. Deva rained flowers. Mallaalar sat on the peacock and got ready to go the battlefield. Buddhi Devi requested him, "Please allow me to go to the battle field." Mallalar agreed with a smile.

Buddhi Devi went to the battle field in her vimaanam. She created her own army and arranged them in vyooham. She fought the war well with tactics. But when her army was subdued by the asura army, she became very angry. From her anger a mighty son was born to her. She felt happy to see him.

She told him "Go to the Sundara ashram. Your father is there seated on a peacock. Take his blessings and come to the battle field. The son did as he was told by his mother. Mallaalar was happy to see his son whom he named as Laabhan. He gave his blessings and sent him back to the battle field.

#38a. சூரியகுமாரன்

கண்டம் நகரத்தை, மைதல தேசத்தில்,
ஆண்டு வந்தான் மன்னன் சக்கரபாணி.

பிறக்கவில்லை பெயர் சொல்ல ஒரு பிள்ளை
பிறந்தன யாகப்பயனாக; ஆனால் தக்கவில்லை.

'தீவினைப் பயன் துரத்துகிறது!' என்று
தீர்மானித்தான் கானகத்தில் தவம் புரிய.

சௌனக முனிவர் வந்தார் அரசனிடம்;
சூரிய விரத முறைகளைக் கற்பித்தார்

"வருந்தாதே பிறப்பான் சத்புத்திரன்
அருள் புரிவான் சூரியன் உனக்கு!"

சூரிய விரத்தை அனுஷ்டித்தான் அரசன்;
சூரியன் அறிந்தான் அரசன் மலடன் என.

இருபத்தோராம் நாள் சூரியன் அரசியைக்
கருவுறச் செய்தான், கனவில் வந்த கூடி!

அரசன் உருவில் சூரியன் வந்ததால்
அரசனே கூடியதாக நினைத்தாள் அரசி.

அரசன் அரசியிடம் செல்லாததால்;
அரசன் அறிந்தான் சூரியன் அருளை.

பிறந்தது குழந்தை பத்து மாதங்களில்
சிவந்த சடை, அரிய மூன்று கண்கள்

இருகரங்களில் பற்றிய சூலங்களுடன்!
மூர்ச்சையடைந்தாள் அஞ்சிய அரசி!

அந்தணர் வடிவில் வந்தான் வருணன்;
ஆசிகள் தந்தான் சிந்து எனப் பெயரிட்டு.

விளையும் பயிர் முளையிலேயே தெரியும்!
வளர்ந்தான் சிந்துராஜன் பராக்கிரமத்துடன்.

திரிந்தான் மனம் போனபடி திசைகளில்;
எறிந்தான் மலைகளைப் பெயர்த்தெடுத்து.

கலக்கினான் சமுத்திரங்களை விளையாடி.
விக்கினான் நிலவைப் பாதையிலிருந்து.

'ஆண்மையும், வீரமும் கொண்ட இவனே
ஆள வேண்டும் நமது அசுரர் குலத்தினை!'

தேடி வந்தார் சுக்கிராச்சாரியார் அவனை;
நாடச் சொன்னார் சிவபெருமான் அருளை.

#38a. Soorya Kumaaran

King ChakrapaaNi ruled over the Kandam city in Maithala desam. He had no children. He got children after performing Yaagaa but they did not survive. He felt very sad at heart. He thought it was the effect of his evil deeds in the previous births. He decided to go to a forest and do severe penance.

Sounaka rushi came to meet him. He took pity on the King's plight and taught him the vratham to please the Sun God. Rushi told ChakrapaaNi, " Do not worry oh king! Surely Soorya Bhagavaan will bless you with a good son soon."

The king performed the Soorya vratham in the prescribed manner. Sooryan knew that the king was impotent. So on the twenty first day of the vratham, he came in the queen's dream as king ChakrapaaNi. He made love to her in her dream and she got pregnant.

The queen was under the impression that the King had united with her, but the king knew the truth that the child was the gift of Sooya bhagavaan.

After ten months, a son was born to the queen. It had red matted hair, three eyes and held soolams in both its hands. The queen got frightened by this sight and fainted right away. VaruNan came there disguised as a Brahmin. He named the child as Sindhu Raajan and blessed him.

Sindhu Raajan was valorous and daring. He roamed the world in all the directions. He plucked the mountains and tossed them around. He churned the sea water just for fun. He deviated the moon from its assigned path.

Sukraachaayra was very pleased with this young man - so brave, daring and valorous. He decided that Sindhu Raajan must become the king of asuras. Asura guru approached Sindhe Raajan and advised him to seek the grace of lord Siva by doing severe penance.

#38b. சிந்து ராஜன்

"சிவனை தியானித்துத் தவம் செய்து
அவனிடம் வரங்களை வாங்கி விடு.

வெல்ல முடியாது உன்னை எவராலும்
மெல்ல அசுரர் கை ஓங்கிவிடும்!' எனத்

தவம் செய்யச் சென்றான் சிந்து ராஜன்
தவம் நீடித்தது ஈராயிரம் ஆண்டுகள்.

காட்சி தந்து வரம் தந்தான் சிவன்,
"ஆட்சி செய்வாய் மூவுலகங்களை!

அழிவின்றி வாழ்வாய் நெடுங்காலம்
அடி பணிவர் உன்னிடம் தேவர்கள்!"

வரம் தந்தது வெற்றி மேல் வெற்றி!
வந்தது பூலோகம் அவன் குடைக் கீழ்!

தேவலோகம் சென்றான் சிந்து ராஜன்;
தேவேந்திரன் எதிர்பட்டான் யானைமீது!

வஜ்ஜிராயுத்தைத் தடுத்து யானையை,
வஜ்ஜிர முஷ்டியால் தாக்கினான் சிந்து!

பொறி கலங்கி நின்றது வெள்ளை யானை;
மறைந்துபோனான் மாயையால் இந்திரன்.

வீரர்களை நியமித்தான் சுவர்கத்தில் - தன்
வீடு திரும்பினான் சிந்து பூலோகத்தில்.

விஷ்ணுவிடம் இந்திரன் சரண் புகவே
விஷ்ணு புறப்பட்டார் தன் சக்கரத்துடன்.

தேவர்கள் தாக்கி அழித்து விட்டனர் தம்
தேவருலகில் இருந்த சிந்துவின் வீரரை

செய்தியை அறிந்து சினந்த சிந்துராஜன்
செய்தான் தன் அடுத்த படையெடுப்பை .

விஷ்ணுவின் தலைமையில் தேவர்கள்!
உஷ்ணமான போர் தொடங்கியது உடனே.

#38b. Sindu Raajan


Guru Sukraachaarya told Sindu Raajan, "Do penance to Lord Siva and get his blessings and boons. You will become invincible. The Deva will obey you. Asura will achieve supremacy as before."

Sindhu Raajan went to do penance. He concentrated on Lord Siva and did severe penance for two thousand years. Siva appeared to him and gave him many boons.

He blessed Sindhu raajan saying, "You will rule over the three worlds. You will live for a very long time. The Deva will obey you. No one can defeat you"

These boons gave victory over victory. Sindu conquered the whole earth.

Next he went to swarggam. Indra opposed him seated on his Airaavat. Sindhu Raajan escaped being hit by Indra's vajraayudam and hit the Airaavat hard on its head.

The elephant stood dazed and Indra disappeared from there by his Maya.

Sindhu Rajan nominated a care taker ruler and his soldier stayed back in swarggam. He returned to the earth and to his capital city.

Indra sought the help of Vishnu in overthrowing Sindhu Raajan from swarggam. Under Vishnu's guidance the Deva killed the soldiers of Sindu Raajan.

When he learned of this, Sindhu became furious and invaded swarggam with his army. A terrible war ensued.

#38c. வரம் தருவேன்!

சிந்துவின் கோபத்தின்முன் சிதறி ஓடினர்,
இந்தினும் அவன் தேவர்கள் சமூஹமும்.

விரட்டினான் தேவர்களை தண்டத்தால்;
வீழ்த்தினான் கருடனின் ஒரு சிறகினை!

'வெல்வது அரிது வரங்கள் பெற்றவனை,
வெல்ல வேண்டும் தந்திரமாக ' என்று.

"வீரம் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தோம் யாம் - நீ
கோரும் வரம் தருவோம் யாம்!" என,

விஷ்ணுவின் கருத்தை அறிந்தான் சிந்து;
விஷ்ணுவைச் சிக்க வைத்தான் வலையில்.

"தேவர்களுடன் வரவேண்டும் என் நகரம்,
தேவைப்படும் பணிகள் செய்ய வேண்டும்!"

சிக்கிக் கொண்டனர் வசமாக தேவர்கள்.
சிறை செய்தான் தேவரைச் சிந்து ராஜன்!

"துன்பம் தொடருகிறதே குருதேவா - நாம்
இன்பம் காண்போமா வாழ்வில் மீண்டும்?"

குலகுருவை அணுகினர் தேவர்கள்,
குலகுரு கூறினார் செய்யவேண்டியதை

"சிவன் அளித்த வரங்கள் சிறந்தவை!
சிவனால் அழிய மாட்டான் சிந்துராஜன்.

ஆதி காரணனாகிய ஐங்கர மூர்த்தியே
அழித்திட வல்லவர் சிந்து ராஜனை.

வினாயகரை தியானிப்போம் ஒன்றாக!"
வினயத்துடன் நடந்தது மானசீக பூஜை!

சதுர்த்தி விரதம்வந்தது சிறையில்
எதுவுமே இன்றி மனதில் செய்தனர்.

பத்துக் கரங்களோடு காட்சி தந்தார்,
சித்தி, புத்தி தேவியரோடு விநாயகர்.

"சிந்து ராஜனை அழிப்பேன் விரைவில்,
நொந்து போகவேண்டாம் சிறையில்"

#38c. The Boon!

The Deva dispersed in front of the angry Sindu Raajan. The Deva were driven away with the dandam by Sindhu. He chopped off one of the wings of garudan, on which Vishnu was seated.

Vishnu thought to himself, 'Sindhu has several boons given by Siva. It is difficult to defeat him. I will resort to a cunning scheme.' He told Sindhu, "I am very impressed by your valor. I want to give you a boon. What do you want?"

Sindhu could read the thoughts of Vishnu clearly. He decided to trap Vishnu with his own words. He told Vishnu, "I want all the Deva to come to my city and do the menial chores I want to get done"

Now they were caught in the net, with no hope of escaping! After reaching his city he promptly arrested all the Deva. The Deva were unhappy imprisoned by Sindhu. They approached their kulaguru Bruhaspati and asked him, "Is there any hope of getting out from here? Will we ever return to our swarggam?"

The guru consoled them and said, "The boons given by Siva have made Sindhu very powerful. Siva will not destroy Sindhu. Brhama and Vishnu can not defeat him. The only god who can destroy Sindhu is Vinayaka. Let us all pray to him." The Deva all prayed to Vinayaka and did maanaseeka puja since they did not have anything needed for a real pooja.

Meanwhile it was chathurti vratham day. Deva preformed the maanaseeka pooja as usual. Vinayaka appeared to them with his ten arms and in the company of Siddhi Devi and Buddhi Devi.

He told the Deva, " Do not worry! I will put an end to Sindhu soon and you will all be released form this prison."

#38d. திரிசந்தி க்ஷேத்ரம்

உருவத்தை யோகத்தால் மறைத்து,
உமாபதியை தியானித்தனர் முனிவர்.

அன்னையும், அண்ணலும் அங்கே
அன்புடன் கட்சி தந்தனர் ஒன்றாக.

"சிந்துராஜனின் கொடுமைகள் கூடுகின்றன;
சிறைப்படுத்தி வாட்டுகிறான் தேவர்களை!

தொல்லை தருகிறான் முனிவர்களுக்கு;
தலைக்கு ஏறிவிட்டது மமதை அவனுக்கு.

தாங்கள் தங்கிவிட வேண்டும் இங்கேயே;
நாங்கள் தங்குவதற்கு அது ஒன்றே வழி!"

இணங்கினான் மஹேசன் தங்கிவிட - சிவ
கணங்கள் நிர்மாணித்தனர் ஓர் ஆலயம்.

இணையாகும் கயிலையங்கிரிக்கு அது!
வணங்கப்படும் ஈசன் யோகநிஷ்டையில்.

தேவிக்கு உதித்தது ஓர் ஐயம் இதனால்,
"தேவாதி தேவா! நீர் தியானிப்பது எவரை ?"

"பரம் பொருள் என்று ஒருவன் உள்ளான்;
பிறர் அனைவரையும் தோற்றுவிப்பவன்;

மும்மூர்த்திகளையும் படைத்தவன்;
மூவுலகினரையும் வாழ வைப்பவன்;

சிந்து ராஜனை அழிக்க அவதரிப்பான்;
அந்த பாக்கியம் கிடைக்கும் உனக்கே!

பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் தியானிப்பாய்
பரம்பொருளின் ஏகாக்ஷரத்தை விடாது!"

அன்னை விரும்பினாள் அறிய பேற்றினை;
சொன்னபடி தியானித்தாள் ஈராறு ஆண்டு!

#38d. Thrisandhi kshetram

The sages made themselves invisible by their power of yoga and prayed to Lord Siva. Uma and Siva appeared to them. "Sindhu Raajan is becoming more and more arrogant. He had imprisoned all the Deva. He troubles us rushis also. He has become headstrong. You must stay here lord so that we too can live here peacefully."

Siva agreed to stay in Thrisandhi kshetram. Sivaganas built him a temple as magnificent as Kailash itself. Siva sat in yoga. Uma wondered and asked him," You are the lord or all the other Gods. Whom do you meditate upon?"

Siva replied to Uma, "There is one absolute power who creates everything else. He has created the trimoorthis. He creates the three worlds. He will be born on earth to destroy Sindhu Raaajan . You may become his mother if you pray to him chanting the ekaaksharam for twelve years."

Devi wanted to become the mother of the all powerful God and meditated upon him for twelve long years.

#38e. கணேசர்

மயூரேச விநாயகர் ஆலயத்தில் உமை
தியானித்தாள் ஏகாக்ஷர மந்திரத்தை.

பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் உருண்டோடின;
பரம்பொருள் காட்சி தந்தார் அன்னைக்கு.

மும்மூர்த்திகளின் முகங்களுடன், கரங்கள்
மூவிரண்டுடன், ரிஷப வாஹனத்தில் ஏறி!

"சிறையில் வாடும் இந்திராதி தேவர்களை
சிறை விடுவித்துச் சுவர்க்கம் சேர்க்கவும்;

சிந்து ராஜனை சம்ஹாரம் செய்திடவும்
வந்து தோன்றுவேன் கணேச குமாரனாக"

விநாயக சதுர்த்தி பூஜையில் தோன்றினார்
விஸ்வரூப விநாயகர் ஜோதி வடிவமாக!

கோடிசூர்யப் பிரகாசத்தைக் காண இயலாது
மூடிக் கொண்டு விட்டாள் கண்களை தேவி.

'திருமகனாகிக் குழந்தையாகித் தாங்கள்
வரவேண்டும் தரிசனம் தர வேண்டும்"என

விடுத்தார் ஜோதிமயமான விஸ்வரூபத்தை;
எடுத்தார் அழகிய பாலகனின் வடிவத்தை!

மூன்று கண்களும், மூவிரண்டு கரங்களும்,
முத்துமாலை குலுங்கும் மார்பையும் கண்டு;

வாரி எடுத்து அணைத்தாள் உமை மார்போடு!
ஊறி வந்த பாலை ஊட்டினாள் தாயன்போடு!

வலது கண்ணும், வலது தோளும் துடித்து
வளர்த்தன மகிழ்ச்சியை தேவர்களுக்கு!

இடது கண்ணும், இடது தோளும் துடித்து
இடர் விளைவித்தன சிந்து ராஜனுக்கு!

#38e. Ganesha

Uma devi sat in the temple of Mayooresa Vinayaka and chanted ekaaksharam for twelve long years. Vinayaka appeared to Devi with the three faces of the trimoortis and six arms on the Nandhi vaahanam. "I will be born on earth as Ganesha to destroy Sindhu Raajan and free the suffering Deva from his prison "

During the Vinayaka Chathurti pooja, God appeared as Viswaroopa Vinaayaka in the form of a brilliant light. He was more brilliant than ten million Suns put together. Devi closed her eyes - unable to bear the brilliance. She prayed to him, "Please come to me as a small child"

Vinayaka took the form of a small child. He had three eyes and six arms. He wore pearl strings on his chest. Uma embraced this lovely child and gave him her milk. The Deva felt happy since their right eyes and right shoulders twitched as a good omen. Sindhu Raajan felt upset since his left eye and left shoulder twitched as a bad omen.

#39a. பாலலீலைகள் (1)

விபரீத சகுனங்கள் விளைவித்தன அச்சத்தை!
வீரரை அனுப்பினான் விந்தையை அறிந்துவர.

சகல உலகங்களையும் சுற்றி வந்தனர் வீரர்கள்;
சகல செய்திகளையும் கூறினார் சிந்துராஜனுக்கு.

"திரிசந்தி க்ஷேத்திரத்தில் விந்தை நிகழ்ந்தது!
திரிநேத்திரன் பார்வதியோடு தங்கியுள்ளான்.

விரதம் அனுஷ்டித்தாளாம் பார்வதி தேவி;
வித்தியாசமான ஆண் மகவு கிடைத்ததாம்.

மூன்று கண்கள், மூவிரண்டு கரங்களுடன்!
முனிவர்கள் பணிகின்றனராம் கணேசனை!"

கலங்கியது மனம் கணேசன் என்றதுமே;
துலங்கியது உண்மை கணேசன் யாரெனெ.

'வரங்கள் அளிக்கையில் பிரான் கூறினார்
வரும் அழிவு கணேசரால் மட்டுமே என!"

அசரீரி ஒன்று கேட்டது ஆகாயத்திலிருந்து.
"அழிக்கப் பிறந்துவிட்டான் உன்னை ஒருவன்!

திரிசந்தியில் வளரும் கணேச குமாரன்
திரிலோக அதிபதி உன்னை அழிப்பான்!"

துடித்தது மீசை; வெடித்தது வெஞ்சினம்;
"பொடிப் பயலைக் கொல்வேன் இப்போதே!"

"பச்சிளம் பாலகனிடம் அச்சமா அரசே?
இச்சகத்தில் உம்மை அழிக்க ஒருவனா?"

சிறு பிள்ளை செய்ய முடியுமா இதை?
ஒரு வார்த்தை கூறுங்கள் எங்களிடம்!

காலால் தாங்கள் இட்ட வேலைகளைத்
தலையால் செய்யக் காத்திருக்கின்றோம்!"

அமைச்சர், பிரதானிகளின் சொற்கேட்டு
அமைதி அடைந்தான் சிந்துராஜன் அன்று.

#39a. Bala leelaa (1)


The bad omen caused fear in the mind of Sindhu Raajan. He sent out his messengers to find out any rare event that had occurred in the world. The messengers traveled far and wide and reported back to Sindhu Raajan.

"A rare event has occurred in Trisandhi kshetram. Lord Siva is staying there with Parvathi Devi. Devi did penance and observed a vratham. Now she has an unusual son with three eyes and six arms. The rushis worship this child as Ganesha." Sindhu Raajan now realized who that Ganesha was.

While giving him the boons, Lord Siva had told him that only Ganesha will be capable of destroying Sinshu Raajan. At the same time an asareeri spoke these words, "A boy has been born to destroy you. He grows in Trisandhi khetram as Ganesha!" Sindhu Raajan became uncontrollably angry and swore that he would kill the child then and there.

His ministers asked him, "Are you afraid of a new born child oh king? Can anyone in this world harm you in anyway? Can a new born baby do it? We are all here to obey your comands to the letter. No harm can ever befall you."

Sindhu Raajan felt consoled on hearing these reassuring words.

#39b. பாலலீலைகள் (2)

"கணேசன் இருக்கும் வரையில் இல்லை
கணப் பொழுதும் நிம்மதி என் மனத்தில்!

ரகசியமாக அழியுங்கள் கணேசனை
அகத்தில் அமைதி நிலவும் மீண்டும்!"

கழுகாக மாறிப் பறந்தான் கிருத்திராசுரன்;
குழந்தை கணேசன் கிடந்தான் தொட்டிலில்.

பற்றிக் கொண்டது கணேசனைக் காலில்;
பறந்து சென்றது கழுகு உயர விண்ணில்!

அலறித் துடித்தனர் அருகில் இருந்தவர்;
கலங்கவே இல்லை குழந்தை கணேசன்!

வளைத்தான் கையால் கழுகின் கழுத்தை;
தளையை விட்டுவிட்டது; இறந்தது கழுகு

விழுந்தான் அன்னை மடியில் கணேசன்;
விழுந்தாள் மகிழ்ச்சி வெள்ளத்தில் தேவி.

வந்தனர் எலிகள் உருவில் இரு அசுரர்கள்
வலுச் சண்டையிட்டு கணேசனைத் தாக்கிட.

உருவெடுத்தான் ஒரு பூனையாக கணேசன்
இரு அசுரகளையும் குதறிவிட்டது பூனை!

பூனை வடிவெடுத்து வந்தான் ஒரு அசுரன்;
கொன்றன நாய் வடிவெடுத்த வேதங்கள்.

முனி குமாரனாக வந்த அந்த பலாசுரனை
இனிமையாக விளையாடியே அழித்தார்.

கொல்லச் சென்றவர் கொல்லப்பட்டனர்;
பொல்லாத கோபம் கொண்டான் சிந்து.

வல்லமை மிகுந்த அசுரர்களும் கூட
கொல்லப்பட்டனர் கணேச குமாரனால்!

#39b. Baala Leelaigal (2)


"I can not have a moment of peace, as long as Ganesha is alive. Kill him secretly." Sindhu Raajan commanded his asuraas. Grudra asuran took the form a vulture and flew to Ganesha. The child was lying in a cradle. The vulture grabbed the child in its talons and flew up higher and higher in the air.

Everyone got frightened by this and started screaming and crying but not baby Ganesha. He wound his arm round the neck of the vulture and squeezed hard. The vulture dropped him down and also dropped dead. Ganesha fell right back into his mother's lap giving her a great mental relief and joy.

Two asuraas came as rats and started fighting among themselves and attacked Ganesha. He changed into a cat and tore them apart. Another asura came changed into a cat. The four Vedas commanded by Ganesha, took the form of a dog and tore apart the cat. Balaasuran came as a muni kumaaran. Ganesha played with him and killed him playfully.

The mighty asuraas who were sent to kill Ganesha got killed by him. This made Sindhu Raajan terribly angry.
