#31c. The new mode of prayer

RavaNan became wild with anger. He rapped the boy very hard on his head. The boy disappeared in a moment. Vinayaka stood there in a big form. Vinayaka lifted RavaNan in his trunk, swirled him round and threw him on the ground.

RavaNan felt shattered and prayed for protection. Vinayaka told him, "You rapped me hard on my head. Now rap on your own head as hard." Ravanan rapped on his forehead so hard that it started bleeding.

"My father Lord Siva wanted to stay in this place. I just carried out his wish. In future, whoever raps the head in front of my statue, will have peace of mind and all good things will happen in his life."

This is how the mode of prayer by rapping on the head started. RavaNan returned to Lanka leaving behind Gokarnar.

 
#32a. குறுமுனி

கைலாச நாதனிடம் வரங்கள் பெற்று,
உல்லாச ஆட்சிசெய்தான் சூரபத்மன்;

அண்டங்கள் ஆயிரத்து எட்டையும் தன்
வெண்கொற்றக் குடைக் கீழ் அமர்ந்து.

ஒளிந்து வாழ்ந்தனர் இந்திரனும், சசியும்;
ஒற்றர்கள் தேடித் திரிந்தனர் அவர்களை!

மகேஸ்வரன் பூஜைக்குத் தேவையான
மலர்களை வளர்த்தனர் நந்தவனத்தில்.

மேகங்களைப் பணித்தான் சூரபத்மன்,
"தாகம் தீர்க்கும் நீரைப் பொழியாதீர்!"

வறட்சி பெருகியது, பயிர்கள் கருகின,
வாடி வதங்கின மலர்ச்செடி கொடிகள்.

செய்வது அறியாத இந்திரனும், சசியும்
தெய்வ வாக்கு ஒன்றைக் கேட்டனர்.

"வருந்தாதே இந்திரா மலர்களுக்காக!
வரும் ஒரு புனிதநதி இங்கு விரைவில்"

நாரதர் வந்தார் இந்திரனைச் சந்திக்க;
நாரதரிடம் கூறினர் சசியும், இந்திரனும்.

"சூரனுக்கு அஞ்சி வாழ்கின்றோம் யாம்,
மாறவேண்டும் இந்த நிலை விரைவில்!

ஆராதிக்கத் தேவை நறுமண மலர்கள்;
நீரின்றி வாடிப் போயிற்று மலர்வனம்!

நீர் அறியாதது என்று ஒன்றுமில்லை;
நீரை வரவழைக்க ஒரு வழி கூறுங்கள்"

"பொதிய மலை செல்கின்றார் குறுமுனி;
பெரு நதி உள்ளது சிறு கமண்டலத்தில்!

கைலாசநாதன் தந்த காவிரி நதி அது!
வையகம் தழைக்கும் நதி பாய்ந்தால்.

செய்ய வல்லவர் விநாயகர் ஒருவரே!
செய்வாய் வழிபாடு அவரருள் வேண்டி!"

#32a. Agasthya

Soorapadman ruled over all the one thousand and eight universes after getting boons from Siva. Indra and Sasi Devi fled from Swargga to avoid being arrested by Soorapadman. They lived on the earth secretly since Sooran's spies were on the look out for them everywhere.

Indra and Sasi prayed to lord Siva to deliver them from all their miseries. They had a nandavanam full of flower plants and creepers. The flowers were used to worship Siva. Soorapadman ordered all the clouds to stop raining. The plants and creepers withered without water. Indra and Sasi Devi could not do aaraadhanaa the way they had been doing.

Narada came down to meet Indra. Indra asked Narada to find a solution to the problem faced by his nandavanam.

Narada told him, 'Agasytha rushi is on his way to Podhigai mountain. He has river Kaveri inside his kamandalam. If Kaveri can be feed from the kamandalam, she will flow freely here and the land will become fertile once again. Only Vigneswara can make it possible. You pray to him and seek his help in this matter."



 
#32b. காவேரி நதி

இந்திரன் செய்தான் அரும் தவம் - அவன்
முந்தித் தோன்றினார் விக்கின விநாயகர்.

"பிரானைப் பூஜிக்க வளர்த்தேன் நந்தவனம்;
பெறாது நீரை வாடி நிற்கின்றது நந்தவனம்!

குறுமுனி கமண்டலத்தில் உள்ளது காவேரி
அருள் கூர்ந்து பாயச் செய்யும் அந்நதியை!"

மனம் கனிந்தது விக்கின விநாயகருக்கு.
கணத்தில் பறந்து சென்றார் காகவடிவில்!

அகத்தியர் அருகில் இருந்தது கமண்டலம்;
அகத்தில் அடங்கியிருந்தது காவேரி நதி.

பறந்த காகம் சென்று அமர்ந்து கொண்டது;
சிறந்த நீர் நிரம்பிய அந்தக் கமண்டலத்தில்.

புனிதநீரை மாசு படுத்தி விடுமோ?" என்று
முனிவர் விரட்டினார் மாயக் காக்கையை.

பறந்து சென்று விட்டது காகம் எனினும்
பறக்கும் முன் கவிழ்த்தது கமண்டலத்தை.

விடுதலை பெற்ற காவேரி மகிழ்வோடு
தொடங்கியது ஓடுவதற்கு வெள்ளமாக!

காணவில்லை அக்காகத்தை இப்போது!
கண்டார் அந்தணச் சிறுவன் ஒருவனை!

துரத்தித் துரத்தி ஓடிப் பிடித்து அவன்
சிரத்தில் வைக்க விரும்பினார் குட்டு.

ஓட்டம் ஓடினான், ஆட்டம் கட்டினான்;
மாட்டவில்லை சிறுவன் முனிவரிடம்!

இளைத்துக் களைத்து நின்றார் முனிவர்.
வளைந்த துதிக்கை ஐயனைக் கண்டார்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

 
#32b. River Kaveri

Indra did penance towards Vinayaka and the lord appeared in front of him. "I did pooja to Lord Siva with flowers from my own garden. Soorapadman has stopped the rainfall. Now the garden is withering without water. Agasthya rushi has river Kaveri stored in his kamandalam. Kindly make it flow here as a river "

Vinayaka took pity of Indra. He transformed himself into a crow and flew away to Agasthya immediately. The crow saw the water kamandalam near sage Agasthya. It went and sat on it. Sage Agasthya was worried that the crow might defile the holy river water. He drove away the crow. It flew off but managed to topple the kamandalam before it took off.

River Kaveri was happy to be released from the small vessel and started flowing happily as a big river. Agasthya was upset. He wanted to punish the crow. But now the crow was nowhere to be seen. He saw a brahmin boy where the crow was seen.

He chased the boy and wanted to plant a real hard rap on his head. But the boy was good in running. He would appear to be very near and then very far away. He made the rishi run all over the place chasing him in vain. The sage grew very tired and stood there out of breath. The boy also disappeared and now Vinayaka stood before sage Agasthya.




 
#32c. மீண்டும் காவேரி

அந்தணச் சிறுவன் அலைக்கழித்த பின்
விந்தையாக மாறினான் விநாயகராக!

நொந்து நூலானார் அகத்திய முனிவர்!
"இந்த இறைவனையா குட்ட முயன்றேன்?"

தரையில் விழுந்து தலையால் தொழுதார்;
"தவற்றை மன்னிக்க வேண்டும் இறைவா!

காகம் என நினைத்தேன் நான் முதலில்;
கள்ளச் சிறுவன் என நினைத்தேன் நான்;

கணநாதன் நீங்கள் என்பதை என்னால்
கண்டு கொள்ள முடியவில்லை ஐயனே!

இது என்ன விளையாட்டு என்னுடன்?
பொதிகை மலை செல்ல வேண்டிய நதி

பொங்கிப் பிரவாகமாக ஆகிவிட்டதே!
தாங்கள் தரவேண்டும் மீண்டும் காவேரி"

"குறுமுனியே இதோ காவேரி நதியை
மறுபடி தருகிறேன் உம் கமண்டலத்தில்.

இந்திரன் வளர்த்து வருகின்ற அழகிய
நந்தவனம் வாடுகின்றது நீர் இன்றி!

இந்தக் காரணத்துக்காகவே நான்
தந்தேன் நதி நீரை இந்திரனுக்கு!"

கமண்டலம் நிறைந்தது காவேரி நீரால்,
முக மண்டலம் இனிய புன்முறுவலால்.

பல முறை வணங்கி விட்டு பொதிகை
மலை செல்லலானார் அகத்தியர்.

#32c. River Kaveri

The brahmin boy who made sage Agasthya chase him all over the place had now transformed into Vinayaka. Agasthya was shocked beyond words! "Is this the God who I tried so hard to rap?"

He fell on the ground and prayed to the lord, "Pardon me my lord! I thought you were a crow and drove you away. Then I thought you were a brahmin boy and chased you all over the place. Now I see that you are my lord Vinayaka.

What have you done my lord? This river Kaveri was to be taken to Podhigai mountain by me. But now she has started flowing here as a big river. I need Kaveri water"

Vinayaka told Agasthya, "I shall refill your kamandalam with Kaveri water. Indra's flower garden is withering without water. I let Kaveri flow only on his request. "

He filled the kamandalam with Kaveri water. His face was filled with smiles. The sage took leave of Vinayaka and started walking towards Podhigai Mountains.

 
#33a. சந்ததிகள்

பிரளயத்தின் முடிவில் தோற்றுவித்தார்,
பிரமதேவன் ஏழு மானசீக புத்திரர்களை.

ஆவார் காச்யபர் அவ்வெழுவரில் ஒருவர்,
ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் அரும் தவம் புரிந்தார்.

முத்தாரம் குலுங்க, மூன்றாம்பிறை துலங்க,.
ரத்தின கிரீடத்துடன் காட்சி தந்தான் ஐயன்.

"உலக சிருஷ்டியில் உதவுமாறு எந்தை
உத்தர விட்டுள்ளார் ஐயனே எனக்கு!

அனுகிரகிக்க வேண்டும் அச்சக்தியை
அவதரிக்கவேண்டும் திருக்குமாரனாக"

விரும்பும் வரங்களை அளித்த பின்னர்
விநாயகர் மறைந்தருளினார் முன்போல்.

பத்தினியர் பதின்மூவர் காச்யபருக்கு .
பத்தினியருடன் இல்லறம் பேணினார்;

கந்தருவர், தேவர், சித்தர், சாரணர்,
கின்னரர், யக்ஷர், தானவர், மானவர்,

அத்தனை ஜீவராசிகளும் உருவாயினர்
அத்தனை வேறு வேறு பத்தினிகளிடம்.

விநாயக மந்திரத்தைக் கற்ற பின்னர்
விநாயகர் மீது செய்தனர் அரும் தவம்.

அவரவர் கற்பனைக்கு ஏற்றவண்ணம்
அன்புடன் காட்சி தந்தார் விநாயகர்.

துதித்துப் போற்றினர் துதிக்கை ஐயனை;
துதிகளால் மகிழ்ந்தார் துதிக்கை ஐயன்.

அருளுவான் ஐயன் ஐஸ்வரியங்களை
இருபத்தொரு முறை துதிப்பவர்களுக்கு.

#33a. The lineage

A the end of Pralaya, Brahma created seven sons out of his mind. One of the seven was Kasyapa. He did penance on Vinyaka for one thousand years.

Vinayaka appeared with pearl strings decorating his chest and the crescent moon his head. He was wearing a crown made of gems. Kasyapa prayed to Vinayaka," My father has ordered me to assist him in the creation. Please give me the power for creating. Also You must be born as my son" Vinayaka granted these boons and disappeared.

Kasyapa had thirteen wives. He created the various races of beings out of them. Gandharva, Deva, Siddha, ChaaraNa, Kinnara, Yakaha, Daanavaa and Maanavaa were all created out of his different wives.

They all learned Vinayaka mantra and did penance on him. Vinayaka appeared to them the way they had imagined him. They all praised him with various names. Vinayaka was very pleased by those words. He blessed that whoever chants those words twenty one times would get all the eight aiswaryam in the world.

துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் விக்னராஜர் என்று.
துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் கணாதிபர் என்று.

துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் தூமகேது என்று.
துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் கணாத்யக்ஷர் என்று.

துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் பாலசந்த்ரர் என்று.
துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் கஜானனர் என்று.

துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் வக்ரதுண்டர் என்று.
துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் சூர்ப்பகர்ணர் என்று.

துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் ஹேரம்பர் என்று.
துதித்தனர் ஒரு வகையினர் ஸ்கந்தபூர்வஜர் என்று.

ஆயிரம் நாமங்களில் இவைகள் அடங்கும்
ஆயிரம் நாமங்கள் இவற்றில் அடங்கும்

தோத்திரம் செய்தால் விடியற் காலையில்
தேடி வந்து சேரும் ஒரு கோடிப் புண்ணியம்

#33e. Stuthi maalaa

Of the various species created each one called Vinayaka with a special name.

The sixteen names called by the species are

Sumukhar, Eka dantar, Kapilar, Gajakarnakar,

Lambodarar, Vikatar, Vignaraajar, Ganaadhipar,

Dhoomaketu, Ganaadhyakshar, Baala chandrar, Gajaananar,

Vakra thundar, Soorppa karnar, Herambar and Skanda poorvajar .

These form a part of Vinayaka sahasranama.

These names contain the essence of Sahasrtanaama.

Whoever chants these names twenty one times at dawn

will be blessed with all the eight aiswaryams in this world.
 
[h=1]34a. அபிஜித்[/h] புத்திரன் இன்றி வருந்தினான் அபிஜித்;
பத்தினி குணமதியுடன் போனான் கானகம்.


தவம் செய்யும் முன் ஒப்படைத்தான் நாட்டை,
தர்மம் தவறாத ஓர் அமைச்சர்கள் குழுவிடம்.


ஆசிரமம் ஒன்றைக் கண்டான் கானகத்தில்;
வாசம் செய்துவந்தார் அதில் வைசம்பாயனர்.


“அரசனே! நீர் யார்? உம் தேவை என்ன?”
தாரையாகக் கண்ணீர் விட்டான் மன்னன்!


அறிவுக் கண்களால் கண்டறிந்தார் அரசனின்
குறை என்ன என்பதை வைசம்பாயன முனிவர்.


“சத்புத்திரன் பிறப்பான்!” ஆசீர்வதித்தார் முனிவர்.
உத்தம முனிவரைத் தொழுதான் மன்னன் அபிஜித்.


“பெரியோர் வாக்கு பலிக்கும் உண்மையே!
சரியான வழிமுறைகளை அருளுவீர் ஐயா!”


பஞ்சாக்ஷர மந்திரத்தை அளித்தார் முனிவர்;
தஞ்சம் அடைந்த அபிஜித்திடம் சொன்னார்;


“நாடிச்செல் கடலில் நதியின் சங்கமத்தை!
நன்மை தரும் ஒரு வனம் உள்ளது மேற்கே!


நான்கு மாதங்கள் மனைவியுடன் தங்கி
நன்கு ஜபித்து யாகங்களைச் செய்வாய்!


பத்தினியுடன் நகர் திரும்புவாய் அதன் பின்.
உத்தமான புத்திரன் பிறப்பான் சீக்கிரத்தில்!”


வனத்துக்குச் சென்றான் அபிஜித் ராஜன்;
குணவதி மனைவி குணமதியுடன் உடனே!


பிரம்மனும் தவம் புரிந்து இருந்தான்;
குறிப்பிட்ட அந்த வனத்தில் அப்போது!


அரசனும், பிரம்மனும் தவம் புரிந்திருக்க
அரசியும், வாணியும் செய்தனர் பணிவிடை.

#34a. Abhijit

King Abhijit was sad since he did not have any children. He went to the forest with his wife Gunamati after entrusting the rule of his kingdom to a group of honest ministers.

They saw an ashram in the forest. Sage Vaisampaayana lived there. The king went to pay his respect to the sage.

When the sage asked him “Oh! King who are you and what do you seek here?” he shed copious tears without replying.

The sage saw the truth with his gnaana drushti and blessed the king “You will get a good son soon.”
The king asked the sage, “Kindly tell me the right procedure to be followed to be blessed with a son.”

The sage taught him the Panchaakshara. He told the king, “Go to the confluence of this river and the sea. You will find a beautiful vanam to its west. It is the ideal place for doing yaaga, yagna and tapas.

Stay there for four months with your queen. Do the yaaga with proper mantra japam. You may return to your kingdom after four months. Very soon the Queen will be blessed with a son.”

Abhijit and Gunamati went to that vanam. Brahma was also doing penance there at that time.

The king Abhijit and Brahma would spend time in tapas. The queen Gunamati and Vaani Devi would attend to the needs of their husbands.

34b. மோஹம்

சரஸ்வதி தேவிக்குக் காமம் மேலிட,
சயனித்தாள் சென்று பிரமன் மடியில்!

நிஷ்டை கலைந்து கண்கள் திறந்தன;
நிலைமையைக் கண்டவுடன் மோஹம்!

சல்லாபம் செய்ய விரும்பினான் பிரமன்;
சரஸ்வதிதேவி சம்மதம் தரவில்லை.

“காம வசப்பட்டது உண்மை எனினும்,
காமத்துக்கு நேரமல்ல இந்த வேளை!

பங்கம் நேரிடும்; பாதகம் விளையும்;
தங்கள் தவம் தொடரட்டும் சுவாமி!”

“மறுக்காதே என் விருப்பத்தை தேவி!
நிறைவேற்றுவதுன் கடமையல்லவா?”

“உம் தவத்துக்கு இடைஞ்சல் செய்வதற்கு
உடன்படவே மாட்டேன் ஸ்வாமி!” என்றாள்.

விடாமல் நெருங்கிச் சென்றார் பிரமன்;
விலகி விலகிச் சென்றாள் வாணிதேவி.

இருவரும் சென்று அடைந்தனர் அங்கே
இந்திராதி தேவர்கள் இருக்கும் இடத்தை.

விரைந்து வந்த சரஸ்வதி தேவியையும்,
துரத்திக் கொண்டுவந்த பிரம்மனையும்,

இந்திரன் வரவேற்றான் உபசரித்து நன்கு!
“வந்த காரணம் என்ன?” என வினவினான்.

மௌனம் சாதித்தனர் பிரமனும், வாணியும்.
மௌனமே அங்கு மொழியாகிப் பேசியது.

புரிந்து கொண்டனர் நிலைமையைத் தேவர்கள்,
“அரிது காமத்தை வெல்வது!” என நினைத்தனர்.

கணத்தில் சுதாரித்துக் கொண்டான் பிரமன்!
‘கண நேர சுகத்தினால் எத்தனை தவம் பாழ்?’

நீராடிவிட்டுத் தவத்தை செய்தான் பிரமன்;
நீரில் கலந்துவிட்டது வெளிப்பட்ட தேஜஸ்.

#34b. The desire

One day Saraswathi Devi was filled with desire. She went and lied down on Brahma’s lap. Brahma’s concentration was disturbed. He opened his eyes. On seeing Saraswathi Devi so close to him, his desire was also kindled.

He wanted to become intimate with her but Devi would agree to it. “I was overcome by desire. But this is not the time for enjoying. I will not allow your penance to be disturbed because of me”

“You are my wife and it is your duty to make me happy. Brahma went nearer to Devi. She said again, “I will not be the cause of disturbing your penance”. She started running away from him and he started chasing Devi.

Soon they reached the place where Indra and the other Deva were sitting. Indra welcomed both of them and asked about the purpose of their visit. Both Brahma and Saraswathi Devi kept quiet and sat in silence.

Form their silence the Deva and Indra understood what had happened between Brahma and Devi. They thought to themselves. “It is impossible to overcome desire even for the gods”

Brahma managed to control desire. He said to himself. “I would have wasted so much of my penance just by indulging for a few minutes.” He took bath and went back to his penance, but the thejas which emerged from him got mixed with the water there.
 
34c. கணன்

கடல் நீராடும் பௌர்ணமி தினம்;
தடாக நீரைப் பருகினாள் குணமதி.

நீருடன் கலந்த பிரம்மனின் தேஜஸ்,
நீரோடு சென்றது அவள் வயிற்றுக்குள்.

பஞ்சாக்ஷர மந்திரத்தை ஜபித்தான் அபிஜித்;
எஞ்சிய ஹோமங்களையும் செய்தான்.

கர்ப்பமுற்ற குணமதி ஈன்றாள் மகனை;
கணன் என்ற பெயரில் வளர்ந்தான் அவன்.

பயம் என்ற சொல்லே இல்லை அகராதியில்;
பராக்கிரமத்துடன் வளர்ந்து வந்தான் கணன்.

உதயச் சந்திரனைப் பிடித்தான் கைகளில்!
இதமாக வேண்டியதும் விடுவித்தான் அதை.

மதம் கொண்ட யானை அலைந்தது நகரில்;
மிதித்துத் துதிக்கையால் வாரி எறிந்தது!

அறைந்தான் யானையின் கன்னத்தில்;
பிளந்தான் இரு மத்தகங்களைப் பிடித்து!

பலம் கண்ட யானை மாறியது பூனையாக;
பலத்துடன் இருந்தன பல நற்குணங்களும்.

கானகம் சென்றான் கடும் தவம் செய்ய;
கடும் தவம் செய்தான் ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள்!

கொஞ்சமும் தளரவில்லை உறுதியில்!
பஞ்சாக்ஷரத்தை நிறுத்தினான் நெஞ்சில்!

நின்று தவம் செய்தான் ஒற்றைக் காலில்.
நீரை மட்டும் அருந்தி முப்பது ஆண்டுகள்!

பத்து ஆண்டுகள் காற்றை மட்டும் சுவாசித்து!
பத்து ஆண்டுகள் எதுவுமே உட்கொள்ளாமல்!

யோகாக்னி வெளிப்பட்டது உடலிலிருந்து
யோகாக்னி சென்றடைந்தது சுவர்க்கத்தை.

. #34c. GaNan

It was a full moon day when people bathe in the sea. Gunamathi drank the water from the pond. The tejas released by reached her stomach along with the water.

Abhijith did the japam and homam as prescribed. Gunamathi became pregnant and delivered a son indue course. He was named as GaNan. He was fearless and valorous. He caught hold of the rising moon once. When the moon begged to be released, he released it.

A mad elephant ran berserk – threatening and throwing people around. GaNan slapped hard on the cheeks of the elephant. He pulled apart its forehead. The elephant became as mild as a cat.

GaNan was strong and had good qualities in addition to his strength. He want to the forest and did severe penance for one thousand years. He concentrated on Panchaakshara. He stood on one leg and did penance.

For thirty years he would take nothing but water. For the next ten years he took nothing but the air. For the next ten year he did not even breathe. His body started emanating the yoga angi and it reached the swarggam.
 
34d. திக்விஜயம்

தேவர்கள் விரைந்தனர் கைலாசம்;
தேவலோகம் தகித்தது வெப்பத்தால்!

“கௌரீபதே! பஞ்சாக்ஷரம் ஜபித்துக்
கோரத் தவம் செய்கின்றான் ஒருவன்.

தகிக்கிறது சுவர்க்கத்தை யோகாக்னி.
தாங்களே அபயம் அபயம்” என்றனர்.

காளை வஹானம் ஏறி உமையுடன்
காட்சி தந்தார் சிவபிரான் கனணுக்கு.

மெய் சிலிர்த்துப் புளகம் அடைந்தான்;
கை கூப்பியபடி வலம்வந்தான் கணன்.

“என்றும் மங்காத பக்தியை அருள்வீர்!”
குன்றாத பக்தியை அளித்தார் – மேலும்

மூவுலகையும் வெல்லும் வல்லமையும்,
தேவர்களைத் தோற்கடிக்கும் திறமையும்,

நீண்ட ஆயுளையும் பெற்றபின் கணன்
மீண்டும் வந்தான் தன் பெற்றோரிடம்.

மணம் முடித்தனர் தக்க பெண்ணை;
கணனுக்கு முடி சூட்டினான் அபிஜித்.

பரமசிவன் வரத்தால் உலகை வெல்ல
அரசன் ஆனவுடன் விரும்பினான் கணன்.

குமாரர்கள் சூலபாணி, சுலபன் மற்றும்
அமைச்சருடன் சென்றான் திக் விஜயம்!

நாற்படையுடன் வந்த கணனை எதிர்க்க
நாற்றிசையில் எவரும் துணியவில்லை.

சென்ற இடமெல்லாம் நல்ல வரவேற்பு!
செல்வங்களை வாரித் தந்தனர் மன்னர்.

மண்ணுலகு முழுவதையும் வென்ற கணன்
விண்ணுலகை நோக்கிப் பயணித்தான்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#34b. Digvijayam

The Deva ran to Kailash. The swargga had became very hot. They begged Siva, “Oh Lord! Please save us from the yoga agni created by a man who is doing severe penance towards you.”

Siva appeared to GaNan with Uma on Nandi vaahanam. GaNan was thrilled and praised his god. He prayed for undiminished Bhakti. He got several boons from Siva. He would win over the three words. He would defeat the Deva and he had a very long lifespan.

GaNan returned to his parents very pleased with his boons. Abhijit got him married to a suitable princess. GaNan was made the new king. GaNan wanted to conquer the three worlds. He set out on a digvijayam along with his sons SoolapaaNi , Sulabhan and his ministers.


No one dared to oppose the chaturanga sena of GaNan. The kings welcomed GaNan and showered gifts on him. After conquering the earth, GaNan set out towards the Heaven.
 
34e. இந்திரன்

விண்ணுலகு அடைந்ததும் கைப்பற்றினான்,
வியத்தகு குதிரையான உச்சைஸ்ரவத்தை.

பதறி அடித்துக்கொண்டு வந்தான் இந்திரன்,
இதர தேவர்களுடன் செய்தியை அறிந்ததும்!

சதுரங்க சேனையுடன் தயாராக இருந்தவனிடம்,
மெதுவாகச் சொன்னான், “குதிரையைத் தருவாய்.”

தேவலோகத்தை வெல்லுவதற்கு வந்தவன்
கேவலம் நல்ல வார்த்தைகளுக்கு மசிவானா?

“பரியைத் தரவும் மாட்டேன்; உன்னுடைய
கரியையும் கைப்பற்றப்போகிறேன் நான்!”

சினம் மேலிட்டது இந்திரனுக்கு! தன்னுடைய
இனத்தவரைப் போரிடும்படிப் பணித்தான்.

கோரமான ஒரு யுத்தம் தொடங்கியது;
மோதிக் கொண்டனர் இரு தரப்பினரும்!

கணன் அருகே வந்தவுடன் இந்திரன்
கணனைத் தாக்கினான் குலிசத்தால்.

விழுந்து விட்டான் மூர்ச்சித்து கணன்;
எழுந்து கொண்டான் சுதாரித்து உடன்!

தரையில் விழுந்து விட்டன ஆயுதங்கள்;
தரையில் இறங்கி விட்டனர் அவர்களும்.

ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் என்ற போர்முறைப்படி
ஒருவருடன் ஒருவர் கை கலந்தனர் அங்கு.

பொறி பறக்கக் குட்டினான் கணன் இந்திரனை;
பொறி கலங்கி அமர்ந்து விட்டான் இந்திரன்!

“தேவலோகத்தை நீயே ஆண்டு வரலாம்!
வேலைகள் தொடரலாம் என்றும் போல்!

என் கட்டளைக்கு அடிபணியும் வரையில்
என்னால் இல்லை உனக்கு ஒரு தொல்லை”

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி
 
#34 e. Indra

As soon as GaNan reached the swargga, he took hold of Indra’s wonderful horse Uchchaisravas. Indra came running with the other Deva the moment he heard this news. He told GaNan who was ready with his army, “Release my horse!” GaNan laughed and said, “I am going to take hold of your elephant Airaavat also”

Indra became very angry and ordered his army to fight with GaNan’s army. A terrific war ensued immediately. When GaNan moved in closer, Indra attacked him with his kulisam. GaNan fell faint but managed to get up immediately. Their weapons had fallen on the ground. They too stood on the ground and they started to fight one to one.


GaNan rapped Indra real hard on his head. Indra sat down in a state of shock. GaNan told him, “You my continue to rule the swargga as usual. You may go about your job as usual. As long as you remember to obey me, there will be no trouble for you from me”
 
#34f . கபிலர்

சத்தியலோகம் சென்றான் கணன்;
சத்தியமாகக் கோலாகல வரவேற்பு!

"வெற்றி கொள்ள முடியாதவனோடு
வெற்றுப் போர் புரிவது எதற்கு?" என

அள்ளித் தந்தார் அநேகப் பரிசுகளை;
உள்ளம் களிக்கும்படி பிரம்மதேவன்.

வைகுண்டமும் வரவேற்றது கணனை;
வெகுமானித்தது அரிய பல பரிசுகளால்.

மூவுலகையும் வென்ற பின்னர் கணன்
முன்போலவே நல்லாட்சி புரிந்தான்.

நற்பெயர் விளங்கியது நாற்றிசையிலும்,
நற்பணிகள் தொடர்ந்தன நாடு முழுவதும்.

துஷ்ட மிருகங்கள் தொல்லை தந்தன!
கஷ்டம் அளித்தன வாழும் மனிதருக்கு.

நடமாட வசதியாக அவற்றை அழிக்கத்
திடமாக விண்ணப்பித்தனர் வேடர்கள்.

வேட்டையாடினான் அவ்விலங்குகளைக்
காட்டுக்குச் சென்று படை வீரர்களுடன்!

வேட்டைக்கு அலைந்து திரிந்ததால் நீர்
வேட்கை அதிகரித்துத் துன்புற்றனர்.

அலைந்து திரிந்தனர் நீரைத் தேடி;
அழகிய சோலை கண்களில் பட்டது!

தெளிந்த நதியில் நீராடி மகிழ்ந்தனர்;
களைப்பு நீங்க அமர்ந்தனர் அங்கேயே.

ஆசிரமம் அமைந்திருந்தது சோலையில்;
வாசம் செய்தனர் கபிலரும், சீடர்களும்.

நீர் எடுக்க வந்த சீடன் கண்டான் அங்கு
நீராடிக் களைப்பாறும் படைவீரர்களை.

ஓடோடிச் சென்று சொன்னான் முனிவரிடம்;
தேடிவந்து அழைத்தான் அந்த ஆசிரமத்துக்கு.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
