#29g. சுவர்க்கம்

சூரசேனன் கேட்டான் இக்கதையினை;
சூரசேனன் மனம் வெண்ணெய் ஆனது!

தேவகணங்களிடம் கூறினான் அவன்,
"பாவ காரியங்கள் செய்திருந்தான் பல.

தண்டனை அனுபவித்தான் பலகாலம்
மண்ணிலும் நரகத்திலும் உழன்றபடி.

தீராத நோயுடன் பிறந்துள்ளான்;
பாராமுகம் தகுதில்ல உமக்கு.

கற்பக விநாயக தேவகணங்களின்
அற்புத தரிசனமும் பெற்றுள்ளான்.

தரிசித்த அளவில் தீர்ந்து போகுமே
அறிந்து செய்த பாவங்களும் கூட!

எச்சில் உணவைப் புசித்துவிட்டு,
எள்ளளவும் பக்தியே இல்லாமல்,

"கணபதி! கணபதி!" என்று கூறிய
பெண்ணின் பாவம் தீர்ந்துபோனது!

சதா இறைவன் அருகில் உள்ளவர்கள்
சாதாரணமானவர்களா? இல்லை இல்லை.

கிருபை செய்வீர் இந்த வணிகனுக்கும்.
அருள்வீர் அவனுக்கும் விண்ணுலகு."

இத்தனை பரோபகார சிந்தனையா?
அத்தனை பேரும் வியந்துபோற்றினர்.

மனம் இளகினர் தேவகணங்கள்
அனுகிரஹம் செய்தனர் பாவம் தீர.

திவ்விய சரீரத்தை அடைந்த வணிகன்
திவ்விய விமானத்தில் ஏறி அமர்ந்தான்

அய்யன் அருள் இருக்குமானால் நம்மால்
செய்ய முடியாதது என்று ஏதுமுண்டோ

பரோபகாரி மன்னன் சூரசேனன்
விரோதிக்கும் அருளும் பெருமகன்.

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
#29G. Swarggam

King Soorasenan listened to this story of Budhan and his heart melted like butter. He told the Deva ganas,

"This man has committed many sins. He also got duly punished on earth and in hell. Again he is born with an incurable disease and is suffering now. He has had the dharshan of you the Deva ganas of ganapthi. That itself is enough to cancel out all his sins.

The chandaaLa sthree ate the left overs of the feast and said "Ganapathi Ganapathi!" without bhakti. Yet her sins vanished. You reside near Ganapathi. Your dharshan will purify any sinner. Please let him also come to heaven"

Everyone wondered at the goodness of the king Surasenan. The Deva gana gave in finally and made Budan's sins vanish. The merchant Budhan now had a divya sareeram. He got into the vimaanam and they alltook off to the Vinayaka lokam in the vimaanam.

 
#30a. ஜமதக்னி

கிருதவீரியன் ஏகினான் வனம் - மகன்
கார்த்தவீரியனை மன்னன் ஆக்கிவிட்டு.

எதிரிகளை எளிதில் வென்று புகழோடு
அதிரடி ஆட்சி நடத்தினான் கார்த்தவீரியன்.

ஜமதக்னி சிறந்த முனிவர்களில் ஒருவர்;
ஜனனம் எடுத்தார் விஷ்ணு இவர் மகனாக.

ரிஷிபத்னி கற்புக்கரசி ரேணுகா தேவி;
ராமன் என்ற பெயரில் வளர்ந்தார் விஷ்ணு.

காட்டுக்கு வந்தான் கார்த்தவீரியன் - விலங்கு
வேட்டை ஆடுவதற்கு தன் படைகளுடன்.

ஆசிரமத்தைக் கண்டதும் சென்றான் அங்கு
ஆசீர்வாதமும், தரிசனமும் பெறுவதற்கு.

ஜமதக்னி முனிவர் வரவேற்றார் அன்போடு;
"உமது புகழை நான் கேட்டுள்ளேன் அரசே!

ஆசிரமத்தில் தங்கி இளைப்பாறுங்கள்
ஆகாரம் புசித்து விட்டுப்போகலாம்!" என

"முனிவரே படையுடன் வந்துள்ளேன் நான்
தனியாக உணவு உண்பது சரியல்ல!" என

"எத்தனை பேர்கள் இருந்தாலும் சரியே!
அத் தனை பேர்களும் நீராடிவிட்டு வரலாம்!"

நீராடச்சென்றான் அரசன் படைவீரருடன்;
ஆராதித்தனர் காமதேனுவை ரிஷி தம்பதியர்.

அழகிய நகரம் உருவானது அந்த வனத்தில்;
அறுசுவை உண்டி உருவானது போஜனத்தில்!

இந்திர ஜாலமா? தந்திரக் காட்சிகளா?அன்றி
மந்திரப் பிரயோகமா? என்று மதி மயங்கினர்.

மன்னனும், படையினரும் உண்ட பின்னும்
இன்னமும் குவிந்திருந்தது உணவு வகைகள்!

#30a. Sage Jamadagni

Kruthaveeryan made Kaarthaveeryan the new king and went for vanaprastha. Kaarthaveeryan defeated his enemies easily and ruled his land with fame and popularity. Jamadagni was on of the revered sages. Vishnu was born as his son Raman. Renuka Devi was his patni.

Once kaarthaveryan went to the jungle to hunt the wild animals. He saw the ashram of Jamadagni and went there to get the dharshan and the blessings of the sage.

Jamadagni welcomed him and said, "Please relax and take rest in the aashram. You can eat some food and then go back to your city." The king kaarthaveeryan told the sage,"I have not come alone but along with my army. It will not be fair on my part to eat food leaving all my soldier hungry"

Sage Jamadagni replied, "It is not a problem at all. All of you ware welcome to enjoy our hospitality and take food here. All of You may finish your bath and come to eat food." The king was surprised how the rushi was going to feed a hungry army of soldiers in this jungle.

After the king and his soldiers went to the river, Jamadagni and Renuka Devi did pooja to Kaamadhenu - the divine cow. It had the power to produce and give them anything they wished for.

It produced a beautiful city with all conveniences in the middle of the jungle. All types of food were made available
as if by magic.

The king and his soldiers wondered whether it was a magic or illusion or indrajaalam. They ate to their fill and still a lot of food was leftover.
 
#30b. காமதேனு

"மன்னனாலும் அளிக்க இயலாத உணவைச்
சொன்ன மாத்திரத்தில் அளித்தது எங்கனம்?

ஐயா! இது மந்திரமா? அன்றித் தந்திரமா?
மாயையா? அன்றிக் கண் கட்டு வித்தையா?"

"காமதேனுவை ஆராதித்து உணவைத்
தாமதம் இன்றித் தருவித்தேன் மன்னா!"

காமதேனுவை அடையவேண்டும் என்னும்
காமம் எழுந்தது கார்த்தவீர்யன் மனத்தில்.

"வனத்தில் பற்றை ஒழித்து வாழ்ந்திடும்
முனிவருக்குக் காமதேனு எதற்கு ஐயா?

அனைத்து உலகையும் ஆண்டுவரும் புவன
அதிபதியிடம் அன்றோ இருக்க வேண்டும்?"

"ஆசைக்கோர் அளவில்லை மன்னா! நாம்
நேசிக்கக் கூடாது பிறரது உடைமைகளை."

"தந்தே ஆகவேண்டும் காமதேனுவை - பல
வந்தமாகக் கவர்ந்து செல்வேன் அன்றேல்!"

முனிவருக்குக் கோபம் மூக்குக்கு மேலே!
கனிவால் இயலாதது சினத்தால் இயலுமே!

"அதிதியாக வரவேற்று உணவு அளித்தேன்;
அதிகாரம் செலுத்த முயற்சி செய்கின்றாய்!

பலவந்தமாகக் கவர்ந்து செல்வாயா? உன்
பலத்தைச் சோதித்துப்பார் காமதேனுவிடம்!"

அரசன் உணரவில்லை தபோவலிமையை!
அரசன் ஆணையிட்டான் படை வீரருக்கு,

"கட்டி இருக்கும் காமதேனுவை அவிழ்த்து
இட்டுச் செல்வீர் நம் நாட்டுக்கு!" என்றான்.

#30b. Kaamadhenu

"How could you provide so much food fit for a king at such a short notice sire? Even a king won't be able to do it so well. Is it a magic or a trick or an illusion or Maya?" the king Kaarthaveeryan asked the sage Jamadagni.

"I prayed and got the food from the divine cow Kaamadhenu" The sage replied. Kaarthaveeryan's desire to possess the holy cow was kindled now.

"You are living in the forest as a tapapsvi away from the world. Of what use can this cow be to you? It should be in the possession of a king who rules over the world to be more useful" The king spoke to the sage.

"Desire has no limits oh king! One should not covet for the possessions of another person" the sage told the king.

"I must possess that cow Kaamadhenu. If you will not part with it on my request, I will take it away by force." the king threatened the sage.

The sage became very angry now. "I invited you as my guest of honor and fed you and your soldiers good food. Now you are trying to take away my cow. Do you think you can take her away just by force? Match your strength against her to realize the truth"

Kaarthaveerayan did not realize the power of penance. He ordered his soldiers, "Untie the cow Kaamadhenu and take her to our country now"

#30c. காமதேனு

கட்டியிருந்த காமதேனுவைக் கண்டனர்;
இட்டுச் செல்லும்படி அரசனின் ஆணை!

நெருங்கினர் பசுவை அவிழத்துச் செல்ல;
அருகில் வந்ததும் சிலிர்த்தது பசு உடலை.

சிலிர்த்த வேகத்தில் சிதறி விழுந்தனர்
பொலபொல வென்று நான்கு திசைகளில்!

படை மொத்தமும் வந்து விட்டது இப்போது;
படையுடன் பொருதத் தேவை ஒரு படை.

உடலைச் சிலிர்த்த பசுவிடம் படைவீரர்கள்
உற்பத்தி ஆயினர் அதன் மயிர்க்கால்களில்!

யுத்தம் செய்தனர் மன்னன் படைவீரர்கள்,
சித்தமான பசுவின் படை வீரர்களுடன்.

விநாயகர் தந்த வினோத அஸ்திரங்கள்
விநாசம் செய்யவில்லை பசுப் படையை!

தெய்வப் பசுப் படைவீரர்களிடம் தோற்று
செய்வதறியாமல் மயங்கினான் மன்னன்.

வெல்லவும் வழியில்லை தெய்வப் படையை,
செல்லவும் மனமில்லை தோல்வி அடைந்து!

வென்று பசுவை அடைய முடியாததால்
கொன்று பழிதீர்க்க எண்ணினான் அவன்.

எஞ்சிய வீரருடன் நாட்டுக்குத் திரும்பினான்,
வஞ்சக எண்ணங்களை நெஞ்சில் நிறைத்து!

தவத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்த ஜமதக்னி முனிவரின்
தலையைச் சீவி வீழ்த்தினான் கார்த்தவீர்யன்!

தடுக்க ஓடிவந்த ரேணுகா தேவி மீது,
அடுத்தடுத்துச் செலுத்தினான் சரமழை!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.


 
#30c. The War

The soldiers saw Kaamadhenu tied up in the ashram. The king's order was to untie her and take her to his capital. When the soldiers moved closer, the cow bristled up its hair. The force was enough to throw the soldiers off their feet all around her!

Now the whole army moved in to deal with the cow. To fight an army the cow needed an army of her own! She produced an armed soldier from each of her hair follicle. Soon there was an army big enough to fight with the king's army. The asthrams given by Vinayaka to Kaarthaveeryan could not harm the soldiers produced by Kaamadhenu.

The king's army was easily defeated by the army of the cow. The King became very angry since he could not defeat the cow's army nor accept his defeat and go away. He decided to avenge his shame very soon and returned to his country with the soldier still left alive.

Soon he returned to the ashram. Sage Jamadagni was doing penance. Kaarthaveeryan chopped off his head and made it roll on the ground. Renuka Devi was shocked and came running to her husband. She was pierced by a shower of arrows from the king's bow and feel down in agony.
 
# 30d .பரசுராமன்

நைமி சாரண்யம் சென்றிருந்த ராமன்
அமைதியாகத் திரும்பினான் ஆசிரமம்.

உயிரற்ற தந்தையின் உடலையும் அருகில்
உயிருக்குப் போராடும் தாயையும் கண்டான்.

இடி ஏறுண்ட நாகம் போல நடுங்கினான்;
கொடிய செயல் யார் செய்தது?" சீறினான்!

"இருபத்தோரு அம்புகள் எய்தான் என்மீது;
உருட்டினான் தந்தை தலையைத் தரையில்!

இருபத்தோரு தலைமுறையின் தலைகள்
உருள வேண்டும் கீழே அது போலவே!"

"அரசர்கள் குலமே உலகில் இல்லாமல்
அழித்து விடுகிறேன் க்ஷத்திரியர்களை!"

தாய் தந்தையரின் சடங்குகள் செய்தான்
தத்தாத்திரேய முனிவரின் உதவியுடன்.

அன்னையைத் தன் மனதில் தியானிக்க
அன்னை தோன்றினாள் அவன் கண்முன்.

"சபதம் நிறைவேற வேண்டும் - கைலா
சபதியின் அருள் பெற வேண்டும் மகனே"

சிவனைத் தேடிச் சென்றான் கயிலை;
சிரம் தாழ்த்தி வேண்டினான் அருளை.

கற்றான் விநாயகர் ஷடாக்ஷரத்தை;
'நிறைவேறும் சபதம் அவர் அருளால்'!

மாயூரம் சென்றான் ராமன் மனதில்
தியானித்தான் விக்ன விநாயகரை.

கடும் தவம் புரிந்தான் நெடுங்காலம்
காட்சி தந்தார் சதுர் புஜ விநாயகர்.

"அழித்தான் இரக்கமின்றி பெற்றோரை!
அழிக்க வேண்டும் அவன் சந்ததியரை!

சபதம் நிறைவேற வேண்டும் - நான்
சாதிக்க வேண்டும் சூளுரைத்ததை!"

பரசுவை தந்துவிட்டார் விநாயகர்;
பரசு ராமன் எனப் பெயர் இட்டார்!

வரம் தந்தார் வினாயகர் வெற்றிபெற;
சிரஞ்ஜீவித்வம் அளித்தார் ராமனுக்கு!

இருபத்தோரு தலைமுறை மட்டுமன்றி
அரச குலத்தையே அழித்தான் பரசுராமன்.

#30d. Parasu Raman

Raman had gone to NeimichaaraNyam when these atrocities took place. He returned to the ashram and was shocked to find the headless body of his father and his mother on the verge of death pierced by many arrows.

He shivered from head to foot in anger. He demanded to know who could do such a mean act. Renuka Devi lived long enough to speak to him. "King Kaarthaveeryan cut off your father's head and made it roll on the ground. He shot twenty one arrows at me. You must make the heads of twenty one generations of his descendants roll on the ground."

Raman promised his mother, "I will put an end to the race of Kshatriya in the world!" He performed the last rites of his parents with the help of sage Daththaatreya.

Raman sat thinking about his mother. She appeared in front of his eyes and reminded him of his oath. "You can fulfill your oath only if you get the grace of Lord Siva.'

Raman went to Kailash and prayed to Lord Siva. "I must fulfill my oath . Please help me o lord!" Siva taught him the shataakshara of Vinayaka and advised Raman to seek his blessings.

Raman went to Maayooram and did penance on Vinayaka for a long time. Vinayaka appeared to him with four hands. Raman told him," King Kaarthaveeryan killed my parents mercilessly. I must avenge this by killing twenty one generations of his descendants."

Vinayaka presented Raman with his parasu. He named him and Parasu Raman. He blessed Raman with chiranjeevithvam. Raman went on to haunt and hunt the Kshatriyas. He killed twenty one generations of Kaarthaveeryan's descendants and many more kings and Kshatriyas besides.



 
# 31a. ராவணன்

இடைவிடாத தவம் கையிலையில் புரிந்து
இலங்கேஸ்வரன் மகிழ்வித்தான் பிரானை.

"வரம் என்ன கோருகிறாய் இலங்கேஸ்வரா?"
"வரம் ஒன்று தான் வேண்டும் என் இறைவா!

பிரளய காலத்திலும் அழியாமல் நிலைத்து
இருக்க வேண்டும் என் லங்காபுரி மட்டும்!"

சிவலிங்கம் ஒன்றை அளித்தார் சிவபிரான்;
சில விதி முறைகளையும் உடன் வகுத்தார்.

"நிறுவிப் பூஜித்து வா இதை இலங்கையில்!
நிலைத்து நிற்கும் இலங்கை என்றைக்கும்!

ஏறிச் செல்லக்கூடாது எந்த வாகனத்திலும்;
நிறுவக் கூடாது இதைத் தரையில் எங்கும்;

வைத்தால் லிங்கம் பதிந்து விடும் அங்கே.
வைத்ததை எடுக்க முடியாது மீண்டும்" என

இலங்கை இனி என்றும் அழியாது என்றதும்
நிலை குலைந்து போனான் தேவேந்திரன்!

ஓடினான் விக்கின ராஜரிடம் விரைந்து;
நாடினான் உதவியை வரத்தை முறித்திட!

வருணனை அழைத்தார் விக்ன விநாயகர்.
தரச் சொன்னார் நீர் உபாதை ராவணனுக்கு!

சிறுநீர் பெருநீராகித் தொல்லை தரவே
அறியவில்லை அவன் என் செய்வதென!

அந்தணச் சிறுவன் வடிவில் வினாயகர்
சிந்தை குழம்பிய ராவணனிடம் வந்தார்.

#31a. RaavaNan

RavaNan performed a long and hard penance to please Lord Siva. In return he wanted this boon that, even during the dissolution of the whole world due to praLaya, Lanka should not get destroyed.

Siva granted the boon and presented him with a siva lingam. He also laid some conditions for the boon to become effective. Siva told RavaNan,

"Establish this sivla lingam in Lanka and do aaraadhana regularly. Lanka will never get destroyed. While transporting this to Lanka, you should not ride on any vehicle. You must not set this lingam on the ground. If you put it down, it will get fixed to the same spot and you won't be able to take it off again."

RavaNan was only too happy with his boon and agreed to all the terms and conditions laid by Lord Siva.

When Indra learned that Lanka could never be destroyed once the siva lingam was established there, he ran to Vinayaka for help to defeat this scheme. Vinayaka ordered Varuna to cause urinary discomfort to RavaNan.

Soon RavaNan was not able to contain or control his heavy bladder and urgently needed to relieve himself at any cost. But he could not put down the siva lingam on the ground either.

Just then Vinayaka took the form of a young brahmachaari and walked towards RavaNan.

Vinayaka PuraaNam is completed in it - hopefully by the end on June-

since 50+ poems are yet to be written by me and 100+ poems remain

to be typed and posted. I am unable to type more than three poems and

transnationals per day, in addition to the usual wok load.

The new Venkates PuraaNam poems will go into the Wordpress blog first

may be from July first week. They will appear in the forum ONLY after the

Vinayaka puraaNam is completed in the Forum. This may take 3

to 4 months more.

Thanks to my pretty and brainy helper for creating this lovely blog.

She is none other than my younger daughter in law Mrs. Rupa Raman.
 
The Vinayka PuraaNam in Wordpress blog is ahead by 46 poems already.

This number will keep increasing as days go by.

I hope this will explain why the Vinayaka PuraaNam will get completed in

Wordpress Blog first and then in the Forum.

The reason...

I can post more than one poem in the blog since I do not call it as A poem a day!
 
அன்பார்ந்த நண்பரே!

உண்மையில் நான் ...

யாப்பறியேன்; மரபறியேன்;
தூக்கறியேன்; தொடையறியேன்;
நோக்கறியேன்; எழுத்தறியேன்;
மாட்டறியேன்; மாத்திரையறியேன்!

நல்ல கருத்துகக்களை எளிய தமிழில்
சொல்லுவதே என் நோக்கம் ஆகும். :pray2:
 
#31b. கோகர்ணர்

"கும்பிடப் போன தெய்வம் குறுக்கேயா?'
அம்பி ஒருவன் தோன்றினான் கண்முன்!

'தரையில் வைத்து விடாதே தம்பி இதைத்
தாங்குவாய் உன் இரண்டு கைகளிலேயே!

சிறிது நேரத்தில் வந்து விடுவேன் நான்;
சிறுநீர் கழிப்பதற்கு அவசர அவசியம் "

"சிறிது நேரம் தான் தாங்க முடியும் - நான்
சின்னப் பையன் தானே ஐயா! " என்றான்.

"போனேன் வந்தேன் என்னும்படி நான்
போனவுடன் வந்துவிடுவேன் அப்பனே!"

"மூன்று முறை அழைப்பேன் உங்களை!
பின்னர் வைத்துவிடுவேன் தரையில்!"

"என்னவோ செய் உன் இஷ்டம் போல!
என்னைப் போகவிடு!" என்று ஓடினான்.

அந்தப் பக்கம் ராவணன் சென்றவுடனேயே,
அந்தணச் சிறுவன் அழைத்தான் மும்முறை.

தான் வந்த வேலை எளிதில் முடிந்தது எனத்
தரையில் வைத்துவிட்டான் சிவலிங்கத்தை!

திரும்பிய ராவணன் அங்கு கண்டது என்ன?
இருந்தது தரைமேல் அந்தச் சிவலிங்கம்!

பதிந்துவிட்டது அது அசைக்க முடியாதபடி;
பத்துக் கைகளால் பற்றி இழுத்த போதிலும்!

இழுக்க இழுக்க வலிய பத்துக் கரங்களால்
குழைந்தது சிவலிங்கம் பசுவின் காதுபோல.

குழைந்த லிங்கத்தின் அழகிய புதுப் பெயர்
வழங்கலானது அன்றிலிருந்து கோகர்ணர்.

மகாபலவான் ஆன ராவணனை வென்றதால்,
மகாபலேச்வர் என்றும் ஒரு பெயர் உள்ளது.

RavaNan needed to relieve himself very badly and was happy to see a young brahmin boy in front of him. He urged the boy to take charge of the siva lingam for a while. "Please do not put it down on the ground. I shall be back in a moment."

The boy said, "I am only small child. I can't hold the heavy lingam for a very long time. I shall call you thrice. If you don't come back, I will put it down on the ground" RavaNan was in a great hurry and ran away after handing over the siva ligam.

The boy was in fact Vinayaka in disguise and had come with a plan to foil RavaNan's attempt to transport the lingam to Lanka. He called Ravanan thrice as soon as he disappeared from his eyes and put down the lingam on the ground! He was very happy that his mission was so easily accomplished.

RavaNan was shocked to find the lingam on the ground. He went and tried to lift it up again, but it would not budge. The more he tried to pull it off with his twenty hands, the more the lingam got distorted to resemble the ear of a cow.

It is called by a new name from then on as GokarNar. Since the siva lingam defied the mighty RavaNan's attempts to pull it out, it is also called as Mahaabaleswar.
 
# 31c. குட்டு வழிபாடு

ஆத்திரம் வந்தது ராவணனுக்கு.
தந்திரம் செய்த அச்சிறுவன் மீது.

குட்டினான் பொறி பறக்க அவனை;
வெட்டவெளியானது அந்த இடம்!

நொடியில் காணவில்லை சிறுவனை!
பெருவடிவில் நின்றது கரிமுகநாதன்!

எடுத்தார் துதிக்கையால் சுழற்றி!
அடித்தார் ஓங்கி நிலத்தின் மீது!

அனாயசமாகக் கிடைத்த அடியில்
விநாயகரிடம் கேட்டான் அபயம்.

"என் தலையில் குட்டினாயே நீ!
உன் தலையிலும் குட்டிக்கொள்!"

குட்டிய குட்டில் அவன் நெற்றிப்
பொட்டிலிருந்து கசிந்தது உதிரம்!

"தந்தைக்கு இங்கே இருக்க ஆசை;
எந்தை சொற்படிச் செய்தேன் இதை.

என் சன்னதியில் குட்டிக் கொள்பவர்கள்
நிம்மதி நிலைக்கும், நல்லது நடக்கும்"

குட்டு வழிபாடு தொடங்கியது இப்படியே.
விட்டுச் சென்றான் லிங்கத்தை ராவணன்.
