#14a. ருக்மாங்கதன்

அரசனைக் காணாது திரும்பிச் சென்றவர்கள்
அரசனைத் தேடக் கானகம் வந்தனர் மறுநாள்.

நாரத முனிவருடன் அரசனைக் கண்டனர்
கூறினார் அவனைப் பணிந்து வணங்கி,

"தங்களைக் காணாது தவித்தும் நேற்று
தங்களைக் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தோம் இன்று.

கானகத்தில் நிகழ்ந்தது என்ன மன்னா?
வானவர் மயங்கும் உருவம் மாறியதேன்?"

நடந்த கதையைக் கூறிய ருக்மாங்கதன்
நடக்கப்போவதையும் கூறினான் பின்னர்.

"சென்று கதம்பவனம் சேருவேன் இப்போதே!
வென்று கொடிய நோயைத் திரும்புவேன் நாடு!"

சிந்தாமணித் தீர்த்தத்தில் மூழ்கி எழுந்தான்;
சிந்தாமணி விநாயகரைத் தொழுது நின்றான்;

தந்தை உபதேசித்த மந்திரத்தை ஜபித்தான்;
விந்தை காணீர்! மறைந்தது வெண்குஷ்டம்!

விமானத்தில் வந்தனர் தேவகணங்கள்,
"விநாயகர் அழைக்கிறார் வருக மன்னா!"

"கிடைத்தற்கரிய பெருமை இது எனினும்
விடமுடியாது வயது முதிர்ந்த பெற்றோரை!"

"தாய், தந்தையரை எண்ணி நீராடுங்கள்!
வாய்க்கும் அவர்களுக்கும் இந்தப் பெருமை."

தீர்த்தமாடி எழுந்தனர் அரசனும், மற்றோரும்.
ஆர்வத்துடன் அடைந்தனர் கௌண்டின்யபுரம்.

வந்தன விமானங்கள் அனைவர்க்கும் - ஏறிச்
சென்றனர் விண்ணுலகம் விநாயகரிடம்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

#14b. கிருச்சதமர்

ருக்மாங்கதன் நிராகரித்த முகுந்தை
வெட்கம்கெட்டு அலைந்தாள் வனத்தில்.

வேதனை தந்தது அரசனின் உருவெளி!
சோதனை ஆனது உயிருடன் வாழ்வது!

தேவேந்திரன் கண்ணுற்றான் அவளை
வேதனையைப் போக்க செய்தான் முடிவு.

ருக்மாங்கதன் உருவில் அருகில் வரவே
சிக்கல் தீர்ந்தது என ஆரத் தழுவினாள்;

கிள்ளை மொழிகள் பேசினாள் அவனிடம்;
கொள்ளை இன்பம் தந்தாள், பெற்றாள்.

தாபம் தீர்ந்ததும் சென்றான் இந்திரன்.
பாவம் செய்தவள் அடைந்தாள் கர்ப்பம்.

கவி முனி அறியவில்லை நடந்தவற்றை;
புவி மேல் மிதந்தார் தன் குழந்தை என!

ஆண் மகவை ஈன்றாள் அந்த முகுந்தை;
பேணினர் கிருச்சதமர் என்ற பெயரிட்டு.

ஆறாவது வயதில் நடந்தது உபநயனம்
ஆர்வத்துடன் கற்றுத் தேர்ந்தான் குழந்தை.

கணேச மந்திரத்தைக் கற்று ஓதினான்!
குணவானாகக் கீர்த்தியுடன் வாழ்ந்தான்.

மகத நாட்டில் குழுமினர் முனிவர்கள்;
சகல விஷயங்களையும் விவாதித்தனர்.

போட்டி தொடங்கியது இருவர் இடையே;
போட்டி போட்டவர் அத்ரி, கிருச்சதமர்.

வெல்ல முடியவில்லை அத்ரி போட்டியில்!
சொல்ல முடியவில்லை தோற்றுவிட்டதாக!

"வாதம் செய்யும் தகுதி இல்லை உனக்கு!
வாதம் நிகழ்வது முனிவர்கள் இடையே

அரசனுக்குப் பிறந்த நீ அரசகுமாரன்!
அரசன் மகன் முனிகுமாரன் ஆவனா?"

#14b. Kruchchadamar

Scorned by King Rukmaangathan, Mukundai roamed in the forest completely disappointed. The figure of the king appeared in her mind and drove her mad with unfulfilled desire. Suddenly she found life too difficult to bear.

Indra saw her and decided to put an end to her suffering. He assumed the form of Rukmaangathan and went near her. Mukundai thought that Rukmaangathan had changed his mind and returned to her with love.

She hugged him and whispered to him sweet nothings. She gave him immense pleasure and in that process got her desire sated.

Indra in the guise of the king Rukmaangathan left after Mukundai's desire was fulfilled. She became pregnant due to this strange encounter. Kavi muni never suspected anything amiss and felt elated thinking that the baby was his own.

In due course Mukundai delivered a male child. He was named as Krichchadamar and brought up with love. That child was extremely brilliant. His upanayanam was performed in his sixth year and the boy learned everything with interest. He learned the Ganesa mantra and soon earned a good name and fame.

Once all the rushis went to Magada kingdom. They were discussing various things. Athri and Kruchchadamar got into an argument. Athri argued but could not win over Kruchchadamar.

But he did not want to accept his defeat either. He got up in the sabha filled with rushis and spoke to Kruchchadamar thus: "Debates should take place between the sons of rushis. You are the son of a king. So you a prince and not the son of a sage"

#14c. கிருச்சதமர்

பிறப்பைப்பற்றி அத்ரி கூறிய செய்தி
வியப்பை அளித்தது முனிவர்களுக்கு.

சிறப்பை குறைத்துவிட்டது நொடியில்;
வெறுப்பைத் தோற்றுவித்தது சபையில்.

அவமானம் அடைந்தார் கிருச்சதமர்.
ஆவேசத்துடன் சூளுரைத்தார் அவையில்.

"முனிவர்கள் சபையில் எனக்குத் தலை
குனிவை ஏற்படுத்திய அத்ரி மகரிஷியே!

கவி முனிவன் மகன் தான் நான் எனில்
புவி மேல் வெல்வேன் வாதப் போரில்."

வெளியேறிவர் சென்றார் நேராகத் தான்
தெளிவடையத் தாய் முகுந்தையிடம்.

"அன்னையே மெய் கூறுவீர் எனக்கு!
உண்மையில் என் தந்தை யார் என்று!"

ருத்திரமூர்த்தி போல நின்ற அவனிடம்
பத்தினி வேடம் போட முடியவில்லை!

"ருக்மாங்கத மன்னன் நீர் வேட்கையால்
இக்குடிலுக்கு வந்தார் முன்பொரு நாள்.

மன்மதன் அவன் மேல் மையல் கொண்டு
துன்புற்றேன் நான் விரக தாபத்தால்!

கருணை கொண்டு மீண்டும் வந்தார்.
அருகினில் அழைத்து மகிழ்வித்தார்.

பிறந்தாய் நீ எம் அன்பின் சின்னமாக.
சிறந்த அரசனே ஆவர் உன் தந்தை!"

எரியும் கொள்ளியில் எண்ணை ஊற்றப்
பெருகின சினமும், பெருத்த அவமானமும்!

"பறவைகள் கூட விரும்பாத இலந்தை
மரமாகி நிற்பாய் நீயும் கானகத்தில்!"

சாபம் இட்டான் மகன் என்றதும் எதிர்
சாபம் இட்டாள் அவன் அன்னையும்.

"கண்டால் மனம் நடுங்கும் கொடியவன்
உண்டாகட்டும் உனக்கு ஒரு மகனாக!"

#14c. Krichchadamar

The words suddenly spoken by sage Atri left the rushis shocked beyond words. Krichchadamar fell in their eyes very low. Kruchchadamar felt deeply insulted in the gathering. He took an oath immediately,

"If I am the son of sage Kavi, I will still win over everyone of you in the debate" he left in a huff and went straight to his mother Mukundai for clarification.

He asked her,"Mother tell me the truth now. Who is my real father?" Mukundai could tell a lie after seeing her son standing menacingly like Rudran himself.

She told the incident as to how the Kings Rukmaangathan came to her hut for drinking water; how she fell in love with him; how he walked away first and later returned to her. She said,"You are the fruit of my love to the king Rukmaangathan."

Kruchchadamar became even more angry on hearing this. He cursed his mother,"May you become a thorny bear tree - the fruits of which even the birds will not wish to eat"

She too got angry with him and counter-cursed him, "May you get a son who is terrible beyond words"

#14d. கிருச்சதமர்

"முனி குமாரன் என நினைத்திருந்தேன் நான்;
பனி போல மறைந்துவிட்டது அந்த நினைவு!

பிறப்பின் ரஹசியம் வெளிப்பட்டு விட்டது !
இறப்பதே மேல்! இத்தகைய வாழ்க்கை எதற்கு?

மானம் நீங்கிய பின் உயிர் எதற்கு - அவமானம்
மரணத்திலும் கொடியது அல்லவா மனிதருக்கு?

சரீரத்தைத் துறந்துவிடுகின்றேன் நானே" என்று
பரிதாப முடிவெடுத்தார் முனிவர் கிருச்சதமர்.

அசரீரி கேட்டது ஆகாயத்திலிருந்து அப்போது!
"அவசரப்படாதே உண்மையில் நீ இந்திரன் மகன்"

கேலி செய்த முனிவர்களை மீண்டும் தன்னைத்
தேடி வந்து வணங்கிடச் செய்திட வேண்டும்!

"வனம் சென்று தவம் செய்து பெறுவேன் நான்
வலம் வந்து வணங்கச் செய்யும் சக்தியினை."

கானகம் சென்றடைந்தார் கிருச்சதமர் - அன்ன
பானம் நீக்கிக் கோரத் தவம் செய்தார் அங்கே

பதினாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் ஓடி மறைந்தன
பத்துக் கைகளுடனும், வேழ முகத்துடனும்,

சித்தி , புத்தி தேவிகள் சமேதரராக கணபதி
சிங்க வாகனத்தில் காட்சி தந்தருளினார்.

கோடி சூரியர்களின் பிரகாசத்தினால் கூசி
மூடிக் கொண்டு விட்டன அவர் புறக் கண்கள்

"பிரகாசத்தால் ஒளி இழந்தன புறக்கண்கள்
பிரபுவே அளியுங்கள் எனக்கு அகக் கண்கள்"

அகக் கண்கள் குளிரக் கண்டு மகிழ்ந்தார்
அன்பனுக்கு அன்பன் ஆனைமுக நாதனை.

சிற்றின்பத்தைத் துறந்துவிட்டு உம் பக்தியால்
பேரின்பம் அடையும் நற்பேறு அருள்வீர் ஐயனே!"

#14d. Kruchchadamar

"I was under the impression that I was the son of a sage. But now that thought has disappeared like a dew drop in the sunlight. The truth about my birth has been publicized in a gathering by Athri.

Why should I continue to live? This kind of life is worse than death. I will end my life" Kruchchadamar made up his mind to end his life.

Just then an aakaashvaani said, "Do not be in a hurry. You are the son of Indra" This was a pleasant and surprising news to him. He forgot his sorrow ans shame.

He said to himself, "I will make the same rushis who ridiculed me come to me and pay their obeisance." He left for doing penance. He did severe penance for ten thousand years without food, water and sleep.

Vinayaka was pleased with his penance and appeared in front of him accompanied by Siddhi Devi and Buddhi Devi on a Simha-vaahanam.

He had ten hands, the lovely elephant face and the brilliance of ten million suns shining together. The light was so brilliant that Kruchchadamar felt blinded by it and begged for Gnana-sakshu to look at God to his contentment.

He saw God to his heart's content and prayed thus: "I must give up all worldly pleasures and get liberated from samsaara by your grace Oh lord!"

# 15. பலி என்னும் மகன்

பிரணவ ஸ்வரூபனின் பக்தர் கிருச்சதமர்
பிரபஞ்சம் முழுவதும் பரவியது அவர் புகழ்;

பழித்து எள்ளி நகையாடிய முனிவர்கள்
பணிந்து, வணங்கிக் கௌரவித்தனர்.

சிறிது காலத்துக்குள்ளாகவே அவர் இன்றி
அரிது நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடப்பது என்றானது.

தியானத்தில் வெகுநேரம் அமர்ந்திருந்தார்
திறந்த கண்களில் இருந்து வீசியது யோகத்தீ .

பார்வை தீட்சண்யத்திலிருந்து பிறந்தான்
பார்த்தவர்கள் அஞ்சும் அரக்கன் ஒருவன்.

நடு நடுங்கினார் கிருச்சதமர் அச்சத்தால்
விடுத்தார் அச்சத்தை விநாயகனை எண்ணி!

"யார் நீ?" வினவினார் அசுரனிடம் அவர்.
"பார்வையில் தோன்றிய மைந்தன் பலி.

வெல்ல வேண்டும் மூவுலகங்களைப் போரில்.
சொல்லவேண்டும் நீர் அதற்கான உபயம்" என,

"வினாயக மந்திரத்தை உபதேசிக்கின்றேன்
விக்னங்களை அகற்றி வெற்றி அளிப்பான்."

மந்திர உபதேசம் பெற்றான் பெற்றான் பலி
மனத்தினை அடக்கி மாதவம் செய்தான்.

தவத்தை மெச்சிக் காட்சி தந்தார் கணபதி.
தவத்தின் பயங்களாகப் பெற்றான் வரங்களை.

"மூவுலகங்களையுன் நான் வெல்ல வேண்டும்
ஏவல் செய்து தேவர்கள் பணிய வேண்டும்"

"மூவலகங்களையும் அடிமை கொள்வாய்
மூன்று உலோகக் கோட்டைகள் தந்தேன்

கரும்பொற் கோட்டை, வெண்பொற் கோட்டை
செம்பொற் கோட்டைகளைப் பெறுவாய் நீ!

அரிது அரிது இவற்றை வெற்றி கொள்வது
அரனார் சிவனாரைத் தவிர மற்றவர்களுக்கு".

#15. Bali the son

kruchchadamar was a devotee of Vinayaka and his fame spread far and wide very soon. No auspicious event took place without involving him. The rushis who had ridiculed him came to him and honored him.

One day he sat in Dhyanam for a very long time. When he opened his eyes, yoga agni came out of his eyes. A terrifying asuran emerged from it. Kruchchadamar was startled to see him suddenly. He demanded to know who he was!

The asuran replied, "I am your son Bali, born out of the yoga sakthi emerging from your eyes. I want to conquer the three worlds. Please temme how to go aout ti"

Kruchchadamar replied, "Son! I will teach you the Vinayaka mantram. He is the God of victiory and you shall achieve your ambition. Bali learned the manta from his father. He did severe penance concentrating on Vinayaka.

Ganapthy was pleased with his penance and appeared before him. He asked for these boons from Vinayaka. "I must conquer all the three worlds. The Deva must obey me and serve me well. "

"You shall conquer the three worlds. I will give you three metal forts made of iron, silver and Gold. No one can overpower them except Lord Siva. "

#16a . திரிபுரன்

விரைவிலேயே பூவுலகை வென்றான்
விநாயகர் அருள் பெற்ற அரக்கன் பலி.

அஞ்சினர் பலியின் வலிமை கண்டவர்;
தஞ்சம் புகுந்தனர் அவன் பாதுகாப்பில் .

பாதாளலோகம் சென்றான் அரக்கன் பலி;
பாதாளம் பணிந்தது எதிர்ப்பு ஏதுமின்றி.

அசுரர்களின் அரசனாக அரக்கன் பலியை
ஒருமனதாகத் தேர்வு செய்தது அரக்ககுலம்.

இந்திரலோகம் பலியின் அடுத்த இலக்கானது;
இந்திரனையும் வென்றால் ஆளலாம் மூவுலகு!

தூதர்களை அனுப்பினான் பலி இந்திரனிடம்;
தூதர்கள் சென்று செப்பினர் தூது மொழிகள்,

"ஏதும் எதிர்ப்பு இன்றிப் பணிந்துவிட்டால்
சேதம் இன்றித் தப்பி பிழைக்கலாம் தேவர்,

பேதப் பட்டு எதிர்த்துப் போரிட்டால் பலி
ஊதித் தள்ளிவிடுவான் உம் தேவர்களை!"

இந்திரனின் கண்கள் சிவந்து போயின.
"இந்திரன் பணிய மாட்டான் பலிக்கு !

யுத்தம் தேவை என்றால் நான் தயார்-ஆ
யத்தம் செய்யுங்கள் உங்கள் படைகளை."

தோல்வி அடைந்து விட்டது தூது என்று
கேள்விப்பட்டவுடன் பொங்கியது சினம்!

போருக்குத் தயார் ஆயினர் சுர, அசுரர்.
போர் துவங்கியது; படைகள் மோதின;

யானையோடு யானை மோதிக்கொள்ள,
சேனையில் குளம்பொலிகள் கேட்டன.

அம்புகள் கொய்த தலைகள் பறந்தன
அம்புவி அதிர்ந்தது ஆயுத மோதலால்!

#16a. Thripuran

Bali conquered the earth in no time. The kings had heard of Bali's strength and his boons. They surrendered unconditionally. Bali went to paataal. There was hardly and resistance and he conquered paataal. His next target was swarga.

All the asuras chose him as their king unanimously. He sent messengers to sawrga. "If you surrender unconditionally, there will be no damage to life and property. If you choose to resist ans fight, Bali will overcome you in no time"

Indra became very angry and replied," I will never surrender to Bali. If you want a war, than you will have it. Get your army ready for the battle"

Bali was beside himself with anger at the failure of the mission of the messengers. Both the sura and asura got ready for the war. Elephants fought with elephants. Horses were trotting around all the time.

The heads severed by the arrows flew in the air like balls. The din and the clash of the weapons shook the earth.

#16b. திரிபுரன்

பலி உற்சாகப்படுத்தினான் படை வீரரை!
வலிமை பெற்றதோ விநாயகர் அருளால்!

இந்திரன் உடைத்தான் குதிரையின் கால்களை!
இந்திரன் மயங்கும்படி ஓங்கி அடித்தான் பலி.

மூவுலகையும் வெல்லும் வரம் படைத்தவன்
முன் நிற்க இயலாது மறைந்தான் இந்திரன்.

ஐராவதத்தில் அமர்ந்து வென்றான் பலி,
பிரமலோகம், வைகுண்டம், சுவர்க்கம்!

திக்விஜ்யம் முடித்துத் திரும்பினான் பலி;
திரிபுரத்தை அருளவேண்டினான் ஐயனை.

நூறு யோசனை அகலமும், உயரமும் கொண்ட
மூன்று கோட்டைகள் வந்தன வானிலிருந்து.

மகன்கள் மூவரைத் தோற்றுவித்தான் பலி
மனத்திலிருந்து, தன் மனம் விரும்பியபடி.

வஜ்ஜிர தம்ஷ்டிரன், வீமகாயன், காலகூடன்
விரும்பித் தோற்றுவித்த மகன்கள் மூவர்.

சுக்கிலம் ஆனது அந்த இரும்புக் கோட்டை.
சுபிலம் ஆனது அந்த வெள்ளிக் கோட்டை.

சுவர்த்தி ஆனது அந்தத் தங்கக் கோட்டை;
சுரக்ஷணை கூடியது இந்தத் திரிபுரங்களால்!

சண்டன் ஆண்டான் சத்திய லோகத்தை - பிர
சண்டன் ஆண்டான் வைகுண்ட லோகத்தை.

மகிஷி ஈன்றாள் பலியின் மகன் மதனை.
ஏகி ஒளிந்தனர் தேவர்கள் கயிலையில்.

#16b. Thripuran

Bali encouraged his soldiers to fight better. They were also stronger due to the blessings of Vinayaka. Indra broke the front legs of the horse on which Bali was riding. Bali jumped down and hit Indra hard so as to make him swoon.

A terrible one to one war followed between Indra and Bali. Indra was no match to Bali and he quietly disappeared from the battle field and escaped to Kailash.

Bali entered the heaven seated on Indra's four tusked white elephant Airaavat. There absolutely no resistance in swarga. Then he went to Satyalokam and Vaikuntam. They too fell without any resistance. All the Deva had taken refuge in Kailash, since lord Siva was the only person who could win over Bali.

After the completion of the digvijayam, Bali returned to the earth. He requested Vinayaka to grant him the the three metal forts promised earlier. Bali created three sons out of his mind with sankalpam. Vajradamshtran, Beemakaayan and Kaalakootan were the three sons.

The three metals forts flew down from the sky . The iron fort was named as Sukla, the silver fort as Subila and the gold fort as Suwarthi. Chandan ruled over Satyalogam and Prachandan ruled over Vaikuntam as Bali's representatives.

Bali's wife gave birth to a son named Madhan. All the Deva had taken refuge in Kailash by then.

#16c . திரிபுரன்

கயிலையில் பதுங்கி இருந்த தேவர்கள் - தம்
இயலாமையை இயம்பினர் நாரத முனியிடம்.

"விநாயகர் அருள் அளித்துள்ளது வலிமை.
விதியும், நாரணனும் வெல்ல இயலாதார்!

அரன் மட்டுமே அழிக்க வல்லவர் பலியை.
வரம் தந்த கணநாதன் காட்டுவார் வழியை.

அபாயம் செய்யும் அசுரனை வெல்லுகின்ற
உபாயம் இருக்கும் என்பது மட்டும் உறுதி!"

ஏகாக்ஷரத்தை உடனே உபதேசித்தார் நாரதர்,
ஏகாக்ஷரத்தை ஓதத தொடங்கினர் தேவர்கள்,

வித்தக வினாயகனைச் சித்தத்தில் வைத்து
மொத்தக் கூட்டமும் ஏகாக்ஷரம் ஜபித்தது.

கோடி சூரியப் பிரகாசத்துடன் தோன்றினார்,
வாடிய தேவர்கள் முன் வேழமுக நாதன்;

நான்கு கரங்கள், நவரத்ன அணிமணிகள்
மூன்று கண்கள், முன் வளைந்த துதிக்கை.

"பலிக்குத் தந்தீர் பலமும் வலிமையையும்,
பலிக்கு அஞ்சி ஒளிந்துள்ளோம் நாங்கள்!

வாழ்வையும் வளத்தையும் தந்த நீரே
தாழ்வையும் அழிவையும் தரவேண்டும்"

"கடும் தவம் செய்து வரம் பெறுபவர்கள்
கொடும் செயல்கள் செய்வது வழக்கம்.

வரத்தினால் அடைவர் வளமான வாழ்வு;
வரத்தினால் அடைவர் அளவற்ற மமதை!

கயிலாய நாதரே வெல்ல வல்லவர்- நீவீர்
கயிலைக்குச் சென்று விண்ணம் செய்வீர்

பலியின் அழிவுக்கான வழியினை நான்
பல நாட்கள் முன்பே வகுத்தது உண்மை.

பலியின் அழிவுக்கான முயற்சியை நான்
எளிமையாக துவக்கி வைக்கிறேன் இன்று"

#16c. Tripuran

The Deva who were hiding in Kailash told Narada about their sufferings. "Vinayaka has given Bali special boons. Even Vishnu and Brahma can't destroy him. Only Siva can destroy Bali. I am sure lord Vinayaka will show you the way. Pray to him" Narada taught them ekaaksharam and the Deva started chanting it concentrating on Vinayaka.

Vinayaka appeared in front of them with the brilliance of ten million suns shining together. He had four arms, jewels made of nava ratna, three eyes and the vakra thundam.

"Lord! You have given boons to Bali making him invincible. Only you can bring about his destruction. We are helpless!" The Deva pleaded to Vinayaka.

"Those who do severe penance and get boons later on become arrogant because of their boons and start troubling everyone else. Only Lord Siva can put an end to Bali. Please go and pray to him in Kailash. In the meantime, I well start doing things which will speed up Bali's destruction" Vinayaka promised the Deva.

#16d. கலாதரன்

தேவர்கள் தேடிச் சென்றனர் சிவபிரானை;
வேழமுகன் தேடிச் சென்றான் திரிபுரனை.

அந்தணன் வடிவில் வந்த கணபதியை
அழைத்து உபசரித்தான் திரிபுரன் பலி.

"மூவுலகாளுகின்றேன் ஒரு குடைக் கீழ்!
பூவுலகினில் தங்கள் தேவை என்ன?" என;

"அசுரர் அரசே! அந்தணன் கலாதரன் நான்.
ஆச்சரியம் அடைந்தேன் உன் புகழ் கேட்டு!

ஆனைமுகனின் பக்தன் ஆவாய் நீ - நானும்
ஏனைய தெய்வங்களைத் தொழுவதில்லை!

கைலாய நாதன் ஆராதித்து வருகின்றான்
வையகத்தில் காண இயலாத மூர்த்தியை.

சிந்தாகுலம் தீர்ப்பதில் தன்னிகரற்றது அது!
சிந்தாமணி விநாயகர் எனப் பெயர் பெற்றது.

விழைந்தேன் அந்த மூர்த்தியினைப் பெற்றிட.
விரைந்தேன் இங்கு உன் உதவியைப் பெற்றிட

உன்னால் அதனைப் பெற்றுத் தர இயலுமா?
என்னால் அதனை ஆராதிக்க இயலுமா?"

"வல்லமையில் ஐயம் கொண்டுளீர் ஐயா!
சொல்லியும் விட்டீர் அதை இங்ஙனம்."

"வல்லமையில் ஐயம் இல்லை திரிபுரா!
உள்ளபடி நீயும் ஒரு விநாயகர் பக்தனே!

கண்டவுடன் காதல் கொண்டு, மூர்த்தியை
வேண்டும் உனக்கு என்று கூறிவிட்டால்?"

இடியோசை போல நகைத்தான் அசுரன்!
நடுங்கியது அரசவை அவ்வொலியில்.

"உடனே தருவிகின்றேன் அந்த மூர்த்தியை.
இடம் தருவேன் இங்கேயே தங்குவதற்கு!"

"அருகிலேயே தங்கியுள்ளேன் நான் இப்போது;
வருவேன் வேண்டும்போது மீண்டும் இங்கே"

#16d. Kalaadharan

The Deva went to meet lord Siva and Vinayaka went to meet Bali. Bali welcomed the young Brahmin who was in fact Vinayaka himself in a disguise. "What is that you wish to possess sir? I have the three worlds under my rule and can get you anything you wish to have!" Bali told the Brahmin.

"I am a Brahmin named as Kalaadharan. I am impressed by your greatness. I heard that you worship only Vinayaka. I too do not worship any other God.

Lord Siva has a Chintaamani Vinayaka statue. It has the power to put an end to all our worries. I wish to do aaraadhanaa to that statue. Can you get it for me?"

"You still have doubts in my powers. You have let it out this way. " Bali told Kalaadharan who replied thus:

"I have no doubts in your power. But you may wish to keep the statue with you once you set your eyes on it!"

Bali laughed like thunderclaps and the whole sabha reverberated. "I shall get that statue for you right now. Please stay with me in the palace till then!" Bali told Kalaadharan.

"I am already staying nearby. I can come here at anytime I wish to." Kalaadharan told Bali and left the palace.

#16e. அற்புத ரதம்

கயிலைநாதனைக் காணச் சென்றவர்
செய்தனர் ஓர் அற்புத ரதம் அவருக்கு.

சூரிய சந்திரர்கள் ஆயினர் திகிரிகள்;
அரிய ரித்விக்குகள் அழகிய உட்பரப்பு.

சீரிய சமயங்கள் ஆயின உள்ளிடம்;
மாயை ஆனது ரதத்தின் முகப்பாக.

பூவுலகம் ஆனது தேர்த் தட்டாக.
மேலுலகானது அழகிய ஆசனம்.

மலைகள் ஆயின வலிய தூண்கள்;
மணிவடங்கள் ஆயின புராணங்கள்

மேல்குடம் ஆயின தத்துவங்கள் ;
மேகங்கள் ஆயின சுற்றுப் பட்டாடை

தோரணங்கள் ஆயின சமுத்திரங்கள்
தாரணியோர் கண்டிராத அற்புதரதம்;

நான்கு வேதங்கள் ஆயின பரிகள்;
நல்ல ஆபரணங்கள் உபநிடத்துக்கள்;

அஷ்ட வசுக்கள் ஆயினர் கடிவாளம்;
இஷ்ட நுகத்தடி கர்ம ஞான காண்டம்.

தேரின் சாரதி ஆனார் நான்முகன்;
மேருமலை மாறியது அழகிய வில்லாக!

நாரணன் ஆனார் வில்லில் ஒரு பாணம்
நாண் கயிறு ஆனது வலிய வாசுகி.

தேவர்கள் ஆயினர் அரிய ஆயுதங்கள்
தேவர்கள் சேர்த்தனர் ரதத்தைக் கயிலை.

அன்புடன் அளித்தனர் முக்கண்ணனுக்கு.
இன்னல்களை எடுத்து இயம்பினர் தேவர்.

அபயம் அளித்தார் கைலாச நாதர்.
ஆறுதல் கூறினார்," விடிவு வரும்!"

#16e. The chariot.

The Deva who want to meet Lord Siva created an extraordinary chariot for him. The Sun and the moon were made as its two wheels. The inner side of the chariot was made of rithviks. The inner space was made out of the religions.

Maya became the front side of the chariot. The earth became the chariot plate and the swarga became the seat in the chariot. The mountains became its Strong pillars. The tatvas became the kalasa on the top.

The clouds became the silk cloth wound around the chariot. Puranas and saasthras became the ropes. The oceans became the decorative thoranas. Such was that chariot as the world had never before seen.

The four Vedas became the four horses. Upanishats became the decorations on the horses. Ashta vasus were the girdles of the horses. Karma and Gnaana kaandam became the harnesses. Brahma became the saarathi.

Mount Meru became a strong bow. Vishnu transformed into an arrow. The bow string was the strong sarpa Vasuki.
Devas transformed themselves into asthraas and sasthraas.

The chariot was taken to Kailash and presented to Lord Siva. The Deva elaborated their sufferings to Lord Siva who gave them abhayam and promised that their troubles would end very soon.

#16f. பலியின் தூது

பலியின் தூதர்கள் வந்தனர் அங்கே.
பலியின் மொழிகளைப் பகர்ந்தனர்;

"சிந்தாமணி விநாயகரைப் பெறும் எண்ணம்
சிந்தையில் கொண்டுள்ளான் மன்னன் பலி.

எடுத்துத் தருக எமக்கு அந்த மூர்த்தியை.
மடங்கிச் செல்வோம் பெற்ற உடனேயே."

கைலாயநாதன் மாறிவிட்டார் ருத்திரனாக
கைலாயம் வந்த தூதர்களிடம் கூறினார்,

"விநாச காலே விபரீத புத்தி என்று
விளங்கும் முதுமொழி மெய் ஆனது!

நெருங்கியது அழிவு காலம் பலிக்கு !
செருக்குடன் அனுப்பியுள்ளான் தூது"

தூதர்கள் திரும்பினர் தம் மன்னனிடம்.
ஓதினர் சிவபெருமானின் சொற்களை.

"இல்லை!" என்ற சொல்லைக் கேட்டதும்
நில்லாமல் வரம்பு மீறியது அவன் சினம்!

"கூண்டோடு கைலாசம் அனுப்புவதற்கு
கூடியுள்ளார்கள் தோதாக அங்கேயே!

தானைத் தலைவர்களுக்கு ஆணை இது:
சேனைகளை உடனேயே ஆயத்தம் செய்க!"

முழுமுதற்கடவுளான கணபதி தேவனைப்
பழுதின்றித் துதித்தார் பரம சிவனார்.

"பலியின் அழிவு நிகழும் என் கைகளால்.
பலம் தருவீர் பலியை வெற்றி கொள்ள"

பஞ்சமுகங்களுடன் தோன்றினார் விநாயகர்
பரமசிவனின் முகத் தாமரைகளிலிருந்து.

"பலியை போரில் வென்று வாகை சூடிட
பலம் தந்தோம் தேவரீருக்கு!" என்றார்.

மகிழ்ந்தனர் தேவர் பூமழை பொழிந்து!
அதிர்ந்தது உலகம் துந்துபி நாதத்தால்!

#16f. Bali's messengers

Bali's messengers came to Kailash. Bali's message was short and to the point. "Bali wishes to posses the Chinthaamani Vinayaka. Please hand it over and we will go back immediately!"

Siva became Rudran on hearing this message. "It is said the pride comes before fall. It is true as proved by the message sent by Bali. I will not part with the moorthy of Chintaamani Vinaayaka."

The messengers went back empty handed. Bali's anger knew no bounds when he heard Siva's message. "Packing them off to Kailash as a gang has become easier since they have assembled there already. Get the army ready for the battle"

Siva then meditated on Vinayaka and prayed,"It is destined that I should destroy Bali. Give me the power I need to do this task" Pancha mukha Vinayaka emerged from the five faces of Lord Siva.

He told Siva," You have the power to put an end to Bali and his misdeeds" Flowers rained from the sky and the sound of dundubi was heard in all the three worlds.

#16g. போர்

சண்டப் பிரசண்டர் வந்தனர் படையுடன்;
மூன்று மகன்கள் வந்தனர் தம் படையுடன்;

தேவர்கள் சேனையும் நின்றது தயாராக;
தேவர்கள் முழங்கினர் பெரும் சங்கநாதம்

பிரமன் செலுத்தினார் அற்புத ரதத்தினை!
பிரான் அமர்ந்தார் தேரின் ஆசனத்தில்.

பூதவெள்ளம் எழுபத்திஎண்ணாயிரம் கோடி;
தேவர்கள் சமூஹம் முப்பத்து முக்கோடி ;

முருகன் வந்தான் தன் தனிப்படையுடன்
அருகில் வீரபத்ரன் தன் தனிப்படையுடன்!

ஏழு கடல்களும் ஓரிடத்தில் கலந்தாற்போல
இரு படை சமுத்திரங்களும் கலந்தன அங்கே.

சுண்டிய விற்களின் நாணொலி பரந்து
அண்டம் எங்கும் சென்று எதிரொலித்தது.

திரிபுரன் பெற்றிருந்தான் அரிய வரங்கள்
திரிபுரங்களையும் இறக்கினான் போரில்.

பறந்து செல்லவும், இறங்க வல்லவும் ஆன
சிறந்த தேர்கள் போரில் ஆயுதங்கள் ஆயின!

சத்தம் இல்லாமல் புறங்களை இறக்கினான்;
மொத்தமாக தேவரை அழிக்க முயன்றான்.

மாயப் போரினைப் புரிந்தான் திரிபுரன்;
மாயையை மாற்றி அமைத்தார் அரன்;

வெற்றி தோல்வி இன்றிப் போர் நீண்டது!
வெல்வாரா பிரான் என்ற ஐயம் பிறந்தது!

அன்னையைத் துதித்தனர் அனைவரும் கூடி;
அன்னை ஐயனிடம் இவ்வையத்தைகே கூற

"திரிபுரனின் திறமையை வெளிப்படுத்தவே
அரிய போரை வேண்டுமென நீட்டுகின்றேன்

அழிவு காலம் மிகவும் நெருங்கி விட்டதால்
விழுந்து விடுவான் போரில் விரைவில் பலி!"

#16g. The war

Chandan and Prachandan came with their armies. Bali's three sons came with their armies. Devas got ready their army. Deva blew their conchs and the sound rocked all the three worlds.

Brahman held the reins of the wonderful chariot made by the Deva. Siva sat on the seat in the chariot. The Bootha ganam were 7.8 trillion in number; the Deva were 330 million in number; Murugan came leading his own army; Veerabadran also joined along with his own army.

As if all the seven seas merged in a spot, the two oceans of warriors merged there. The twang of the bows reverberated through the Universe. The tripurams had magical powers. They could fly from anywhere and land anywhere. So these were used as the weapons in this war.

Tripuran made these chariots descend on the Deva and killed them effortlessly. The auras were experts in Mayajaal but Siva destroyed their power of Maya. The war continued for a long time without victory or defeat for any of the two sides.

The Deva got a doubt now whether Siva could really vanquish Tripuran. They asked their doubt to Uma Devi and she passed it on to Siva.

Siva replied, "I prolonged the war only to bring out the greatness of Tripuran. Now his end is nearing"

#16h. திரிபுர தஹனம்

திரிபுரங்கள் அழியும் ஒரே ஒரு ஆயுதத்தால்!
திரிபுரங்களும் வரவேண்டும் நேர்கோட்டில்!

ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒருமுறை நிகழும்
அல்ப சமயத்திற்கு மட்டும் இவ்வரிய நிகழ்வு.

"தம் உதவியால் மட்டுமே அழிக்க முடியும்
திரிபுரனைப் போரில் சிவபெருமானால்!"எனக்

கர்வம் கொண்டனர் தேவர்கள் போரில்;
கர்வம் அழியச் செய்தான் சிவபெருமான்!

சிரித்து எரித்து விட்டான் திரிபுரங்களை!
எரியும் புரங்களின் மேல் எறிந்தான் பிறகு,

அரிய வரம் பொய்க்காது இருக்க எண்ணி,
அரிய சூலாயுதத்தினைப் போரின் முடிவில்!

திருபுரங்களையும் அழித்தார் சிவபிரான்;
திரிபுரன் மகன்களையும் அழித்துவிட்டார்;

திரிபுரன் எரிந்து சாம்பல் ஆகிவிட்டான்;
தீ சுவாலையில் ஒரு நொடிப் பொழுதில்!

ஜோதி வெளிப்பட்டது அவ்வுடலிலிருந்து.
ஜோதி வந்து கலந்தது பிரான் உடலுடன்.

எஞ்சிய அசுரர்களைக் கொன்று அழித்தனர்;
அஞ்சாமல் அவரைத் துரத்தி ஓடிய தேவர்கள்.

அழிந்து போன தேவர்களை உயிர்ப்பித்தார்
கழிவிரக்கத்துடன் கைலாசநாதன் அங்கு.

பூமழை பெய்து மகிழ்ந்தனர் தேவர்கள்;
பூதகணங்கள் மகிழ்ந்து கொண்டாடின!

#16h. Tripura dahanam

The three purams must be destroyed by a single weapon. They should come in a straight line for this to become possible. This rare event occurred for a very short duration once in one thousand years.

The Deva felt proud that but for their help Lord Siva could not vanquish Tripuran. Siva read their thoughts and wished to prove them wrong. He burned tripuram just by laughing. The boon given should not be proved false. So he threw his soolaayudham on the already burning tripuram.

He destroyed the tripuram. He destroyed the Tripuran and his sons. A flame of light emerged from Tripuran's body and merged with Siva. The asuras who took to their heels were chased by the fearless Deva and killed. Flowers rained form the sky and the bootha ganams celebrated this victory.
