Yes, Non thinking public have been there right from the times of mark atnony of Julius caeser times. While non thinking people were led away, intellectually dishonest and selfish subcribed to the view that Brahmins were responsible for the ills of the society.
When the Kshatria was the ruler, he ruled on hehalf of the deity of worship and also formed rules and regulations controlling the society and state. Manu, (aka Satyvrata)was the Kshtria king who made extensive rules regarding laws governing the society.
Which of the gods worshipped by brahmins is of a brahmin?
1.Rama?
2.Krishna?
3.Sita?
4.Hanuman?
5.Siva?
6.Parvathi?
Who else?

All the subjects accepted what was formed as rule by the king.
If the society deteriorated due to casteism, it is to criticise the King Manu, the khatriya.
In the present context, is not central government of India forming the rules on social set up and observed in rule and spirit by the judiciary and the state governments of India? It was similar to that. EVERA was personally snubbed in the party politics of congress party of his times and he took it personallyto do the brahmin baiting for which illiterate masses and intellectually dishonest groups joiined for selfish motives. Now tell, who is practising untouchability? Tirunelveli is hot bed of communal strife which information is not permitted to float except when there is a huge burst.
It is peculiar to note that the Tamilnadu government feels that other communities in Tamilnadu can be only by suppressing Brahmins, Mudaliars, Naidus and no stone is left unturned for that, if you closely observe. it is like congress socialism, "if you cannot make everybody rich, make everybody poor and equalise".

Although the parties are aware of the injustice to the forward comunities, they are only to retain in power by dishonestly propagating wrong information

Mr. Shreeramachandran has given a list of gods who were not born as brahmins. In fact Sri Math Ramayana is the life story of abduction of a non-brahmin lady (Sita Devi) by a brahmin (Ravana, who is grand son of Brahkma and son of a rishi Visrawas.) This brahmin was killed by Sri Rama ( non-brahmin). This epic is upheld and valued most by all brahmins. This vindicates the stand by Mr. shreeRamachandran.

Interesting to see this information EVR & his followers were celebrating Ravna Leela to counter the Ram Leela trying to project Ravana sentiments and their idea is always Ravana is Tamil (and not Brahmin or even anti Brahmin) Pity they were doing this out of ignorance:high5: Jambu
P.S. I know few EVR sishyas with names Ravanan (a guy with this name was in news few years back working in AIR Trichy reason I do not rember)
Do Brahmins have the name Ravanan ?

Ravana has been portrayed as Vedic Scholar in Ramayana. But nowhere in it he is mentioned to be belonging to Brahmin Community. However this mischievous propaganda is doing brisk rounds recently.

Vedic Scholars existed in all communities in the days of Ramayana and many of the rituals that Brahmin follow today (Brahmobadesam for instance) was also common among other communities then.

After killing Ravana and landing back in India Rama did brahmahaththi dosha pariharam at darba sayanam or a place in the sea which confirms Ravana was Brahmin. But again he was also Rakshasan. Authority on Sama Veda and expert on Veena. He pleased Shiva by his Sangheetagnana. Now scholars have to tell us what is the difference between Brahmin and the like of Ravana. Generally Rakshas were all misusing their powers.

How come then Rama had to do 'Brahmahaththidosha nivarthi' at Darba sayanam or Nagabhashanam in India after killing Ravana.

Ravana is called poulasthya - pulasthyasya gothraapathya puman - which means 'coming on the lineage of rishi pulasthya. He is also the son of a rishi'Visravas'. So he is a brahmin. I don't find any mischief in saying so.

Ravana is mentioned as Poulasthya. It means 'Pulasthyasya gothraapathyam pumaan', coming in the gothra lineage of rishi Pulasthya. He is also the son of rishi 'Visravas'. Hence he is a brahmin. I don't see any mischief in this.

In ancient days, Devas and Asuras were not by mere birth alone. They were typified by what they practiced more than by their birth. The same thing was applicable in the Varna system also for Brahmins and other Varnas. Conversion of Varna Asrama into a caste system and adherence to it by birth is of a more recent origin,of an unpredictable date. If every individual born, is given freedom to choose his caste, and be approved of it by a rigorous test by religious codes, after the individual Hindu attains majority of age, the caste system, reservation etc will all disappear on their own.
Regards and Respects,
Ramanathan

Shri Sankaranarayanan is right; Ramayana can also be called as 'Poulasthya vadham'...

Dear Ramanathanji, If the individual is free to choose his own caste to be tested by codes and if it is also done after the individual attains majority, what about his caste from birth till his caste is decided as per the above dictum? Our existing codes enjoin certain samskaras according to his varna and ashrama to be done even before he attains majority of age . What about them? How to do them?

A fiend of mine who is a Brahmin had to yield to his son's wish of marrying a non brahmin. What does the Dharma sastras say about the continuation of sandhathi through a non brahmin daughter in law? Will the lenieage continue?

I quote below the relevant verses' translation from Manu's Laws:

10.6. Sons, begotten by twice-born man on wives of the next lower castes, they declare to be similar (to their fathers, but) blamed on account of the fault (inherent) in their mothers.

10.7. Such is the eternal law concerning (children) born of wives one degree lower (than their husbands); know (that) the following rule (is applicable) to those born of women two or three degrees lower.

10.8. From a Brahmana a with the daughter of a Vaisya is born (a son) called an Ambashtha, with the daughter of a sudra a Nishada, who is also called Parasava.

Hence the off-spring of a brahmin and a kshatriya alone can be somewhat equal to a brahmin, but with a "maatru dosha".

(Quote)Ravana has been portrayed as Vedic Scholar in Ramayana. But nowhere in it he is mentioned to be belonging to Brahmin Community. However this mischievous propaganda is doing brisk rounds recently.(en-quote)

sri.Agastya Rishi's(Brahmin) younger brother is sri.Pulasthya.Sri.Pulasthya's son is sri Visravas(Brahmin)--sri.Visravas married two ladies one is a Gandharva--Visravas+Gandharva lady's son is Kubera(Ravana's step brother is Kubera-whose entire property including Pushpa Vimanam-Ravana by force took away--Visravs+a Daithya woman's sons are Ravana,Kumbarkarna and Vibhishana--the marriage is by "Anulomam" principle--so in South India the Scholars do not take Ravana as a Brahmin--in North Indian Scholars take him as Brahmin.Ravana is recorded as well versed in Vedham especially Saama Gaanam--a great Siva Bhaktha--but he coveted and arrested another man's wife with sinister intention and paid the "Price" for it.Upanishadic saying is "Janmathaa Jaayathay Shoodrathaha--Karmanaa Dwija Ucchyathay"--i hope all members can understand---Another Upanishadic saying is "Chatur Varnya Mayaasrshtam Gunakarma Vipaakasaha"--in "Yaksha(yama)-Yudhistira Prasnottharam"--" sri.Udhishtira says to sri Yama a "Brahmin is reconised ONLY by his Charithram(History).Swami Vivekanandha on the basis of these sayings has written in one of his articles-"Not by birth-but by conduct alone does a man becomes a Brahmin or low-caste"

"Chatur Varnya Mayaasrshtam Gunakarma Vipaakasaha"--

This qoute is NOT from Upanishad--it is from srimath Bhagavad Geetha---in a hurry the error has crept in.
I regret the Error.Meaning of the quote is "The four Varnas are My(Lord sri.Krishna's) creation.
The divisions are according to the Gunam and Poorva Karma.
