Sorry, I have to disagree as usual
- lot of unnecessary gloating is on, in this thread.
First off, a lot of young women are destroying their lives in the name of feminism, freedom and it is cool to break away from the traditions, parents, in laws, relatives.
1. Most of them are unmarried due to thier high standards of choosing life partners.
2. Many of them marry wrong partners based on their unconventional choices and end up regretting when it breaks down completely. I mean, no partner can live up their standards.
3. Many of them are living alone, divorced, separated completely isolated from family.
4. Those who are still married, end up with multiple side affairs to spice up their tragic marriages.
Indian girls are conflicted, they want freedom, they want to be modern but at the same time, they don't want to be too modern, they don't want their partners to be too modern.
They cannot accept affairs, decepition, etc..that comes from such freedom. They are not tough like American girls to pickup and rebuild when their marriage crashes down.
Once their marriage crashes, they become over traditional and look for mamas boys,
Every generation has to learn the tough lessons painfully, in the USA, the hippie generation rebelled against all traditions and they were lost forever. Today's girls in USA, marry early and many are conservatives.
India needs to go through one lost generation before girls realise unconventional choices leads to unconventional consequences which they cannot live with,
