An interesting and informative video about the mandolin wizard Sri. U. Srinivas. There are two varieties of mandolin...

Eight stringed ( four sets of double strings) and six stringed. He creates the wonderful music with his six stringed mandolin.

A choreographer's real challenge and talent is in the synchronization of a group dance… The steps, the action and the movements should go together and it should be attractive… All the group dances of old movies, whether it is Malayalam, Tamil or Hindi… A treat for the eyes…
From the film Shivganagi Seemai… A beautiful dance…

song from old tamil movie - YouTube

One from Hindi… jis desh me ganga rehti hai.. The Great Actress Padmini leads a group dance in that movie.. Awesome… A worth watch…

Dear Prof. MSK Sir,

I have heard this amazing performance (Anandhabairavi is a difficult rAgam with special 'gamakam's) earlier.

The seven beat thALam is also equally tough one. The guitar sounds almost like a veena set in high pitch.

Thanks for posting this video. Our Guru Prof. S. Ramanathan got his doctorate in music for the same university!

Regards,
Raji Ram

There are no words to explain the feelings to the all the great artists of the yesteryears… what a talented personalities… !! Now I enjoy those songs and movies better but I couldn’t able to understand the heights of their talents to the fullest when there were alive. I didn’t have that much maturity.. What a great miss…

Here is Sanjay Subrahmanyan singing Bhogeendra Shaayinam....Please listen to his kalpanaswarams
Amazing! We can expect this from a charted accountant, right Prof. Sir? I enjoyed the expressions on the faces of

audience, including Prince Rama Varma and the one playing tampurA. After that long intricate swaram, the violin

accompanist smiled and made the main singer continue the song. Nice gesture from him. Thanks for posting, Sir.

The song is missing dear Anandi!!

The debate song between Agathiyar and Ravanan from the film Agathiyar... Each line contains a raaga... A good Raaga malika.. I understand Raagas in this way...
