VarALi is a special and difficult rAgam to sing. It is said that if one learns this rAgam directly from a guru,

soon the classes will come to an end! Our guru kept one book in front of him and taught the song to the book,

when we learnt the jewel piece of ThyagarAjA which is the forth pancharathna krithi, in this rAgam.

‘oru naal podhuma’ is one of my evergreen favourites. I agree 100% with you that t.s.balaiyya gives among the top notch performance here as the arrogant poet.

The most beautiful lines of this song, for me anyway is, the following:

You are absolutely right Sir, What a movie...!!!! What a performance by all the actors of the movie... Excellent.... No words to describe the movie and the perfect direction of Shri. A. P. Nagarajan. I don't know how many times I have seen this movie.... Here I am posting yet another song from it.. Shri. T.R. Mahalingam... Particularly this song; Isai Tamizh Nee Saida Arum Sadanai....
