it is written that initially, MGR refused to shoot this, stating he is too old to dance for this song and that too against vijayalakshmi. But later asked the director to re commence the shooting . To everyone's surprise , he out performed vijayalakshmi in this song. he practiced for 15 days for this song , and gave his best at the age of 60, What a commitment!!!


 
This song is from the 1960 film Raja Desingu...it's about the 10 forms of Lord Vishnu...something like the Telugu song Munneta Pavalinchu Nagashayana picturised on Kamala Laxman also by ML Vasanthakumari from the 1957 film Bhookailas. Smt. MLV is excellent in her rendition of the Dasavatharam song and her voice suits Padmini very much.

Dear Raji Madam,

Thank you so much for the affection, I too was missing your posts and yesterday I couldn't able to log in. I was busy with another paper work, that took my whole day. Here, I need time to think, need time to read and to enjoy each and every post, and I need time to write and edit my own postings... It is better to log in and sit whenever I am in relaxed mood, so I can read very good articles and can able to contribute good articles. It is wise to skip the day, when we are mentally exhausted....:typing:
 
A good song by SPB and Susheela ji.. from the film Saptapadi and a good dance performance by Actress Sabita.. It is natural that many good artistic films came first in telugu to be translated them in Tamil and Malayalam later... Telugu is the base/root/platform for classical songs.. If I am not wrong...A very good combination of both song and dance....
