யாதவ திலகம் கண்ணன் நம்மவன் என்று,
யாதவ குலம் கர்வமடைந்தது உலகினில்.
“நான் அவர்களை அழிக்காவிட்டால்,
நானிலத்தை அவர்கள் அழித்துவிடுவர்!”
அஞ்சிய கண்ணன் செய்தான், அதற்குக்
கொஞ்சம் அவசியமான ஏற்பாடுகளை.
வசிஷ்டர், விஸ்வாமித்திரர் மற்றும்
வாமதேவர் போன்ற மகரிஷிகளைப்
புண்ணிய தீர்த்தமாக அன்று விளங்கிய,
பிண்டாரகத்துக்கு அனுப்பிவைத்தான்.
கண்ணன் மகனான சாம்பனுடைய
நண்பர்கள் சிலர் சேர்ந்து கொண்டு,
பெண் வேடமிட்ட ஆண்மகன் சாம்பனை
கொண்டு நிறுத்தினர் முனிவர்கள் முன்.
“என்ன குழந்தை பிறக்கும் இவளுக்கு?
பெண்ணா அல்லது ஆணா?” எனக் கேட்க,
ஞான திருஷ்டியில் அவன் ஆண் எனக் கண்டு
மோனத் தவசீலர்கள் கோபம் அடைந்தனர்.
“குலத்தையே அழித்து நாசமாக்க, ஒரு
உலக்கை பிறக்கும் இவனுக்கு, சீக்கிரம்!”
‘வினையாக ஆகி விட்டதே விளையாட்டு !’
சினையாக உருவானது உலக்கை ஒன்று.
உலக்கை பிறந்ததும், உண்மையில் அஞ்சி
நிலத்தை ஆளுகின்ற மன்னனிடம் கூற,
குலநாச சாபத்துக்கு அஞ்சிய அரசரும்
உலக்கையைப் பொடிசெய்து கடலில் வீசினார்.
கரையில் ஒதுங்கிய பொடிகள், வலிய
கோரைப் புற்களாக வளர்ந்து நின்றன.
விழுங்கிய மீனிடம் கிடைத்த இரும்பை,
மழுங்கிய அம்பில் வைத்தான் ஜரன்.
துர் நிமித்தங்களைக் கண்டு அஞ்சி,
தீர்த்தமாடி, தான தருமங்கள் செய்யச்
சென்றனர் பிரபாச க்ஷேத்திரத்துக்கு,
கொன்றனர் மதியினை, மது அருந்தி!
போதையில் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் தாக்க,
கோரைப் புற்களைப் பறிக்க, அவைகள்
இரும்பு உலக்கைகளாக மாறிவிட்டன!
கரும்பு போலாயினர், ஆலையில் இட்ட!
அனைவரும் அங்கே மடிந்து போகவே,
அனந்தனின் அவதாரம் பலராமனும்,
யோகத்தில் அமர்ந்து, உடலை விட்டு
ஏகினான், தன்னுடைய வைகுண்டம்!
மரத்தடியில் அமர்ந்திருத்த கண்ணின்
மங்கலப் பாதத்தை, மான் என எண்ணி,
செலுத்தினான் வேடன் ஜரன், அதே கூரிய
உலக்கை இரும்பு பொருத்திய பாணத்தை.
சங்கு, சக்கரம், கதை என அனைத்தும்
மங்காத ஒளியுடன் வானகம் செல்ல,
ஸ்ருங்காரக் கண்ணனும், தன் உடலோடு
சிங்காரமாகச் சென்றான், வைகுண்டம்.
நமக்குச் சமமானவர்களுடன் நாம்,
நன்றாக விளையாடலாம்; தவறல்ல!
முனிவர்களிடம் சென்று குறும்பா?
இனியேனும் கவனமாக இருப்போம்.
