Think or sink!

I think hatred is mixed in all the Pancha bhootaas,

in the land we live on, in the water we drink,

in the air we breath and the space we live in,

not to forget the fire we use more often :flame:

to burn down what we hate than to cook! :tsk:

Dear VR ji,

Hatred is a very unique phenomenon becos its involves all 6 enemies known to men in order to cultivate it.

To hate one must have;

1)Kama..the desire to start the cascade of hatred.

2)Krodha...the fuel that keeps hatred going.

3)Lobha..greed is often one of the main reasons for hatred..we start to hate anyone who 'takes' something away from us..it can be power or position.

4)Moha....the infatuation that is needed to delude us into hatred.

5)Mada...the pride that one feels in false control when one hates.

6)Matsarya...the jealousy that makes hatred a vicious cycle that is almost impossible to get out.

Yes Renu!
So HATRED is the main gate to HELL
more than the two more acknowledged gates
namely Kama and Krodha.
Isn't funny that people talk of Advaitam
when they can not see a fellow human being
in themselves and themselves in him/her???

TRANSLATION

The Blessed Lord said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material modes of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring, sinful enemy of this world.
PURPORT
bump.gif
When a living entity comes in contact with the material creation, his eternal love for Krsna is transformed into lust, in association with the mode of passion.

Or, in other words, the sense of love of God becomes transformed into lust, as milk in contact with sour tamarind is transformed into yogurt.

Then again, when lust is unsatisfied, it turns into wrath; wrath is transformed into illusion, and illusion continues the material existence.

Therefore, lust is the greatest enemy of the living entity, and it is lust only which induces the pure living entity to remain entangled in the material world.

Wrath is the manifestation of the mode of ignorance; these modes exhibit themselves as wrath and other corollaries. If, therefore, the modes of passion, instead of being degraded into the modes of ignorance, are elevated to the modes of goodness by the prescribed method of living and acting, then one can be saved from the degradation of wrath by spiritual attachment.

bump.gif
The Supreme Personality of Godhead expanded Himself into many for His ever-increasing spiritual bliss, and the living entities are parts and parcels of this spiritual bliss.

They also have partial independence, but by misuse of their independence, when the service attitude is transformed into the propensity for sense enjoyment, they come under the sway of lust.

This material creation is created by the Lord to give a facility to the conditioned souls to fulfill these lustful propensities, and when they are completely baffled by prolonged lustful activities, the living entities begin to inquire about their real position.

"The origin of everything is the Supreme Brahman." Therefore, the origin of lust is also in the Supreme. If, therefore, lust is transformed into love for the Supreme, or transformed into Krsna consciousness--or, in other words, desiring everything for Krsna--then both lust and wrath can be spiritualized.

Hanuman, the great servitor of Lord Rama, engaged his wrath upon his enemies for the satisfaction of the Lord. Therefore, lust and wrath, when they are employed in Krsna consciousness, become our friends instead of our enemies.

Dear Sir,

Namaste! :pray2:

We realize that health is the greatest possession ONLY after losing it :(

There can no doubt about contentment being the greatest treasure.

Pothum endra maname pon seyyum marunthu!

ONLY self confidence sees us through the ups and downs of life.

I never did, nor do, nor will ever doubt this sterling statement!!! :)

A man runs after wealth - ruining his precious health.

Then he runs after his health - spending his precious wealth.

So he is always running after something or the other,

gaining something and losing some other thing,

in this process of eternal running race!

I want to share something nice with you dear Sir! :)

I am just 7 poems away for completing the 9th skanda

and just 100 poems away from the final target of 937.

I need your blessings one more time as i did -

when I launched this project in January 2014!

Some of the children in my colony have nice names
Vishnu PraNav, SAi VishNu, SAirAm etc.

When they go out to play they do not come home to eat food
at the appointed hour along with the other family members.

So their parents would be calling them with those godly names.

I used to wonder how much good merit (Punya)
they must be earning withput effort like AjAmiLan.

But the very next sentence would be "VAdA inge!"
Will this cancel out the merit earned or not??? :decision:

“நாராயணா!”

“நாராயணா!”
நாவாறச் சொன்னாலே போதும் ;

இழி குலத்தில் பிறந்தவள் அவள்;
இன்பம் அளிப்பதில் கைதேர்ந்தவள்;

கடைக் குட்டியின் பெயர் நாராயணன்;

யே;

படித்துக் காட்டினர் யம கிங்கரர்;

The ex executive committee wished to double the existing
monthly maintenance and had no accounts to support the need for this. :lie:

The present committee is thriftier than a smart house wife.
They save more 20% of the monthly maintenance collected!!! :thumb:

And we get the monthly income and expenditure along with the receipts!!

The ex committe was always enjoying  with public fund.

The present committee has priorities and stick to them firmly!

A story in a nut shell from the collection
of Sri Rama Krishna Parama Hamsa. :hail:

(Is he also one the holy cows in the list
prepared by the wise men of the world?) :noidea:

A king wanted to ravish all the pretty female attendants of his queen.

What can be more handy than Advaitam to confuse and delude
all the already confused people in general and queen in particular?

He said, "All are one and the same.
So there is no difference between
the queen and any other dame!" :blah:

The queen sought the help of the clever kula guru to settle this matter.

So the very next day the king found a piece of cow dung
on the banana leaf, along with the other food items. :yuck:

He blew a fuse on the top to see this and made a raucous.

The guru asked just one simple question to the king.

"You believe in Advaitam and for you all are the same!
Why do you get upset to see a piece of cow dung in you food?"

The king mad with rage challenged his kula guru now. :mad2:

"If you also believe in Advaitam show me how you will eat it"

The guru transformed himself into a pig and ate the shit.
Then he transformed himself into the kulaguru again.

From that day the king stopped talking about the very convenient Advaitam.:tape:

This was written by me as a lovely poem long ago.
I have no time to search for it not.
Time permitting I will write it again in the form of a poem!
There are many more equally interesting stories to share. :)

Dear VR ji,

The Queen could have used the "One is All and All is One" theory to bail herself out if she was ever caught with her 'lover'!LOL

BTW I remember reading one of the adventures of King Vikramaditya..(besided the Vetal stories other stories are there too).

He is often portrayed as the ladies man..marrying females in his adventures.

One story goes like this..He was under the impression that a courtesan of another region fancied him but he had no idea that the courtesan was just making use of him to save her lover's life.

When King Vikram found that out he was angry and he told himself loudly "One should have no faith in a courtesan".

Then all of a sudden he heard the Earth laugh at him and saying 'Go see what is happening in your palace"

Then he rushes back and finds his Queen in embrace with his minister!LOL

Must have been the James Bond type

with a license to KILL and to MARRY!!!

Isn't it strange that the men explore the world

and enjoy es(sex)capades while the Sati SAvirti

is expected to remains chaste and pure

and await the return of the Pati Paramesawar???

If the Earth, Sun and Moon can talk

all the crimes will get solved in a jiffy! :thumb:
Dear Madam,

I have a suggestion that I would request you to take in the right sense. Please consider moving this thread to
forum_old-48.png

[h=2]Quotes and Sayings[/h]
Share your favourite quotes, sayings and thoughts.

as this thread is a meandering endless train of thoughts and feelings, and not really a short discussion on any particular topic/subject.

Thank you !

Another solution is to embed a smart chip in the heart to transmit all thoughts (?) words and deeds for cloud storage. It will then be possible to stop execution of crime by the individual with local smart Apps or intervention by the cloud spy. There are sci fiction movies in which our hero travels backwards to stop a serial killer from killing by killing him, or to the future to kill the evil alien from destroying the world.

If the Earth, Sun and Moon can talk

all the crimes will get solved in a jiffy! :thumb:

Yes sir! :clap2:

You are absolutely correct!

Given below is a excerpt from the introduction given to one of my blogs.

Time is supposed to be a continuous stream flowing eternally.
This is what supports the concept of time travel back to the past or to the future.

At times working backwards is easier than working in the forward direction. When unable to find the way to the center of a maze we work backwards. It is much more easier to come out of the maze - if we start from the center.

Thoughts form the seeds of words and actions.

If we are able to intercept these dangerous seeds

before they become dangerous actions

we can surely prevent most of the crimes.

These thoughts give out signals loud and clear

in the words, facial expressions and the

body languages of the prospective criminal.

But one should be sensitive enough to feel it

and observant enough to take notice of it.

Most things happen because we hardly look at a person

except to criticize him/ her and are insensitive to

what is going on in his/ her mind.

I am sure the following article will interest you. :)

Dear VR ji,

The James Bond character is not married as far as I know.

When men explore the world their wives are busy being explored by other worlds too!LOL

Men brag about their escapades of any kind but women know when silence is the best ornament.

What factors are at play when people of high IQ fail and those of modest IQ succeed?

How well you do in your life and career is determined by both. IQ alone is not enough; EQ also matters.

In fact, psychologists generally agree that among the ingredients for success, IQ counts for roughly 10% (at best 25%); the rest depends on everything else — including EQ.

A study of Harvard graduates in business, law, medicine and teaching showed a negative or zero correlation between an IQ indicator (entrance exam scores) and subsequent career success.

Three examples illustrate the importance of emotional competencies.

Man is a man ONLY when he is able to FEEL as well as THINK.

If he can't THINK he is no better than a piece of wood!

If he can't FEEL he is no better than a huge rock!
