Think or sink!

I will give well known examples for easy understanding!

1. There are two words Action and reaction in the World of Science. :argue:

2. There are two words Action and Inaction in the World of Spirituality.

3. Inaction DOES NOT MEAN remaining idle :couch2:

but it is an Action which has no Reaction.

4. In other words it DOES qualify to be called as an Action (Karma).

5. So what better way to make the Inaction one's Reaction

to meet the relentless Action going in the world???

Hope I have confused you enough for today! :)

Dear VR ji,

The spiritual meaning of Inaction is not "doing the required action"...that is one should not have remained idle but one choose to remain idle.

For example..in cases of hit and run accidents the driver speed off without stopping to help the person he knocked.

The mind knows the right thing to do is get into the action of helping but the person decided not too for he does not want to get involved and quickly drives away before anyone sees him fearing the consequences.

It qualifies as an action becos the mind went against what that came up naturally..then person does not stop thinking of his apparent inaction...it torments him ..and he gets worried in case he is found out to be the culprit.

Actionless Action is that which produces no Karma becos it is done without motive or expectation.

Best example of Actionless Action is Breathing..we breathe naturally without any conscious motive or expectation

That could be the reason why the breath mantra is called Soham..Sa Aham..I am He...breath is one of the most Actionless Action that unites the mundane and divine without us even realizing it.

3. Inaction DOES NOT MEAN remaining idle :couch2:

Dear Renu,

That is exactly what I meant too.

Inaction is NOT binding us in karma

since it is not done with any motive!

Am I correct dear?

The hit and run is more of a reaction

rather than an Inaction.

The driver acts out of fear and commits

more mistakes which will bind him

in karma deeper and harder!

The Moth and the aftermath!

A moth went to meet its God
Looking very sad indeed!

It has planned a conquest;
And made a strange request!

"The flame must be put out
Every time I do jump into it!"

"Be it so!" said the merciful God;
The moth want away very glad!

Every time the moth jumps in
The flame of its Life gets put out!

Man becomes proud with a rare boon
Which will destroy him very soon!

How very sad that the boons do
Backfire for these insects too!

A boon is a curse in disguise!
A curse is a boon in disguise!

The curse and the boon depend on
The uses to which they are put in!

The flame often gets the blame

Though the Moth's wish was lame!

It fits well in the divine scheme
The vile insects to be kept tame;

To trap the wicked in its own game
And make the world go on the same!

A Rose is a Rose by any name;
A flame is a flame by any name.

Whoever bites more than he can chew
Will be made to disappear like the dew!

18. THE STORY OF THE SPARROW AND THE MONKEY
[/h] Somewhere in the jungle, there grew a huge tree.

On its long branches, a pair of sparrows had made their home.

One day, in winter, whilst the pair was sitting happily together, a light rain began to fall.

After some time, a monkey, battered by the strong winds, came and stood under the tree, his teeth chattering with cold.

When the female sparrow saw him in this state, she said to the monkey,'With your hands and feet, you look like a human being.

So why don't you make a home yourself?'

The monkey got angry and shouted, "Why don't you shut your mouth, you wicked woman ?"

But the female sparrow kept on advising the monkey.

Then the monkey said to himself, " What a cheek this female bird has, giving me advice! This insolent woman thinks, she is an educated woman and won't stop yapping.

She makes me want to kill her!"

Then the monkey said ,"Why should you worry?"

But the female sparrow kept chattering ceaselessly.

Without much ado, the monkey climbed up the tree and tore up the nest in thousand pieces.

The wise indeed say: Give your advice only to those who deserve it else you will come to grief.

So the next project/ blog will be popularizing the Pancha Tantra stories

in the form of simple poems - for the sake of the the young and the old.

One should be able to recognize a popular story from a product of imagination!

நரன் என்பது ஒரு மனிதனைக் குறிக்கும்;

பொறுமையில் சிறந்தவள் பூமியைப் போல;
கருணையில் சிறந்தவள் ஒரு தாயைப் போல;
அறிவில் சிறந்தவள் ஒளிர் சூரியனைப் போல;
