dear Mr.Hoover, (reply to #22)

Murthis are carved out of stones- but all kinds of stones are not fit for making murthis. Some of the stones just crumble to dust, when beaten by the hammer repeatedly.

We have known our plight for quite some time now. Why else is there the brain drain and the diaspora of Brahmins and the community of ex-Indian brahmins.

But our ego does not allow us to accept the facts frankly. Brahmins were once known for their Frankness and Fearlessness! Alas! It is not true any more!

Only the merciless mass persecution at the hands of the Nazis brought awareness and unity among the Jews.

Should we too suffer a similar fate to come together under one banner?

Only time can tell us!

I am happy to notice that your anger has subsided considerably and your confidence and positive outlook have improved.

May God bless your sincere efforts with colorful success!

with best wishes,
V.R.

respected Ramaniji,
weightage must be given to you view as you have seen so many rainy seasons and have balance and logical views. I am saying following points here.
1.these are various steps 1. it is state of extreme fear 2.stage of diffusion and dispersing and hense self centric self criticism 3. state of complete dispair 4.state of self analysis 5. evolution of idea for escape 6. free speaking of conditions and problems and criticism of self criticism 7. formation of groups of concerned 8. assimilation of groups 9. final action.
I think mejority of here are in the state no. 4 i.e. self analysis , and a minority is nearabout state no.5. i.e. idea for escape from persecution.
I think we are keeping analysis only to tambram which is faulty. I always speak in contxt of only one word it is 'Brahmin' without any prefix or suffix. Please visit Uttar pradesh if possible and see what Hard Rock brahmin are their. you will wonder that they are not only hard rock but also much rigid spirituallay. In south due to pesistant self criticism and over intellectualism we are loosing the commen sense.
did you know that even today two most coveted 'encounter specialist' i.e. Pradeep Sharma and Daya Nayak are Brahmin.(Both are rocksolid physically and mentally and with that vegetarians !!!) and there are a lot of others too. the only thing is to assimilate energies of all such person to Brahmin cause; which energies we are used to waste in name of patriotism, social service, and Hindutva (public sphere) and in return got conditions like secondary citizens. once such persons are assimilated then see what happens. but the deciding condition is shading the prefix and suffices of word Brahmin. and here we can see a lot of posts esp. by young who are in concord with this thinking.

dear Mr. hoover,

I referred to all these problems you have elaborated when I used the expression that we all have to come under one banner.

But mankind wants to spend all its free time in finding and magnifying the differences more than the similarities among us.

It needs a miracle or a stroke of luck for such things to happen.

We will pray to Lord Hanuman, the only power 'who can make the impossible possible'.

He is also the 'Over-Seas-God' and the 'Miracle-Maker'!

with best wishes,

respected Ramaniji,
I know that you have summed up the essence of my post. It is a problem but that problem is going to end in coming years.
here people are mentioning various trusts and institutions. a lot many are spending their time in writing post with regualarity. arent these good signs.
In maharastra two hundred thousand brahmin are gathering each year with own expense and lot is undergoing. In UP there is a successful political experiment. and Congress Party is also manning their mainframe with brahmin.
PS. to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is a Brahmin, finance minster is now a brahmin. president of BJP is a brahmin.
now things are going in certainly different directions. A 'Manthana' is started now. a lot of zelous people are coming ahead now. and certainly with new aproach. focused on brahmin cause and not harping the monotonous tune i.e. our culture, our country, our hindu society.
with correct strategies we will achieve our dignity.
I do not have much expectations from south brahmin. among overseas brahmin also the north brahmin have taken lead in uniting. (south is leading in icm of girls, intellectual confusion, loosing of commen sense of identity and distortion of brahmin principles).
I expect from south brahmin only to back up and support efforts of north.

Dear Mr. Hoover,

One person CAN make a difference-if he is a Mahatma Gandhi or a Martin Luther King.

Remember both of them were apostles of Peace and Ahimsa?

Good Luck in your peaceful efforts!

with best wishes,
V.R.

respected Ramaniji,
after detour from the subject, I must mention here that Brahmin diaspora, If used only their knowledge and this internet in proper way can make difference.
Names of south people are look same for north indians and it is big obstacle in first contact of them with south. In north due to surnames one can easily guess about once caste so south brahmin also should start using their surnames in foreing countries as there is no fear of discrimintaion due to display of their caste identity. which may be the case in India and esp. in southern part.

brahmin diaspora should unite in atlest US, and form a unified organisation of all brahmin there to show as an example of unity to the native.

Dear Mr. Hoover,

There is already a USBrahmin Association under the auspices of Iyer123 of yahoo groups. They seem to be very busy.

I have no idea whether are doing anything regarding the Indians still living in India. I get their digests regularly. But I have to admit that I have no time to go through them.

I am an old and old fashioned lady. I still believe in doing everything with my own hands-without even a domestic help!
So my free time is really limited!

Since the response is largely unfriendly and utterly discouraging, I am unable to guide or advice you.

with best wishes,
V.R.

greetings of Dipawali to brahmin diaspora spread across the world

Dear Mr. Hoover,

Your (belated) greetings must have been meant for all the Indians and the Indian diaspora- not just brahmins!

We all celebrate Deepavali! Don't we?

One 'pretty woman' is suggesting that Deepaavali must be celebrated all over the world. Good suggestion! Hope it becomes a reality soon :)

with best wishes,
V.R.
