Neatly summed up . Let us not confuse the life style of people belonging to the Upper Middle Class , Middle Class , Lower Class even if they all happen to be TBs and make it a uniform yardstick for all TBs either in the past or in the present . Also TB children whose parents are Government Employees , Bank Employees , Business men , MNC employees , NRIs , Agriculturists , Army people have different lifestyle ir-respective of their networth ( i.e an Agriculturist may have a bigger networth than an MNC employee but their children will have different lifestyles ) .I know of many Rich TBs who strictly follow tradition ( they are usually followers of Kanchi , Sringer Mutts ) and never eat outside and I know of ordinary TBs who do not mind spending eating in Elite and Five Star Restaurants .
So in conclusion : Do not put all TBs in one catgeory and pass comments on them ( for or against ) .Take into account their financial status , their educational background , their life style and their value system before making a single rule for all .
There was no real dating in our marriage. Communication initially was through internet and one meeting. Nowadays one sees how much a person is conforming to norm. Young people have no inclination for anything deviating from the norm. Everything has a norm. The behavior has to conform to a norm. Even personal likings and dislikes have a norm. It does take a talent to imitate the norm too and the good imitators are the most "successful" ones.

I read your post...some who go on dates do not have intention of getting married.
I feel he did not really flirt with these girls in the real sense if he was actually invited for their marriages.
That means it was just friendship and not really anything beyond that..no girl in her right frame of mind would invite an ex boyfriend for her wedding.

Dating in the context of getting to know someone for compatibility for marriage is fine provided it is for a limited time and does not involve any touching Or running around trees singing a song ..
The above is hard to achieve because most dating in the world is not approache with the goal of getting married.
In a culture of today (worldwide) promoted by disposable plastics, relationships are also viewed as disposable. A disposable cup is good for one time use or may be a few times. It goes to the trash soon after.
Marriages, live in arrangements, dating etc also have become means to practice disposable culture.
There are youngsters who when well taught well (about goals of life as in Varnashrama) have resisted such a culture. I was applauding them.
such is life!No boy and girl date each other to run around trees and sing songs.
Nor would any girl in india allow a boy to touch her inappropriately if she is on a first date.
Unless both become comfortable with each other after a few dates and see a good possibility of getting engaged to marry afterwards they might allow some minor
liberties. Most realise in two meetings or so whether they should remain friends or go further. In victorian times there were chaperons over seeing meetings of boy and
girl. We have brahmin parents to perform such roles with a stick in hand if they come to know of dating of their children without their knowledge. If they give their
blessings to an union , they might reluctantly allow them to go out once or twice before/after engagement.
These days when boys and girls decide themselves to date, the only disposables are the boys parents.

If the parents had given enough a ttention to them and inspite of all that if the child decides to go wayward, it should be left alone to enjoy or suffer the consequences. There is no obligation on the part of parents to mollycoddle them for ever and ever.
Parents sufferings due to old age are an altogether different issue. One does not bring up children hoping to sit as a load on their shoulders in old age. There are old age homes as the solution.
Maturity has nothing to do with this.

The point I am trying to convey is that the Girls were very clear . They were just enjoying the time pass and money spent by him .It was this moronic relative of mine who took for granted that the time pass will lead to romance and them to marriage and was spending his time ,energy and money on one girl after the another and none of the Girls considered him seriously but this chap used to boast to everyone about the various girl friends of his ( they never took him that way and were using him only as an ATM Machine ) . That was why they werre least perturbed in inviting him for their wedding but this chap ( actually they invite most of their batch mates for the wedding ) used to weep every night after the wedding was over playing some old love songs ( in Hindi / Tamil ) and the joke in their own family was that when some old hindi / tamil romantic song was being played that means one of his so called girl friends has got married . Some idiots believe that iwhen a girl a talks to them it means they love them and this guy comes in that category only that he extended his so called bike services and ATM services to them thinking it will lead to romance and later marriage but to his horror realised it was all one way love only .But one thing I must credit this chap . He did not stop with one girl but tried his luck with many Girls but yet ended with Zero strike rate .LOL .

The son is not from Harward. Only his Degree. Still he is only a hindustani TB. So Sare jahan se achha Hindoostan hamara still holds good.
I believe people have spoken out what they wanted to say. It would be easier for the mission and vision statements to be drafted if Shri.Vaagmi, Shri Vgane, Shri TKS, and others who have contributed to sum up their suggestions. But if anyone believes there is more to be discussed kindly come out with your suggestions.
People who have spoken for change like Shri Krish, Smt. Renuka, Shri. Auh and others can also immensely contribute because change is also essential for evolution and once the constructive suggestions of both sides are heared an integrated plan for the benefit of the nation and humanity in general can be worked out.
No Shri Krish It is not my individual wish alone. There is a collective wish. What we need is a collective effort.
