SIR - I was reading dec.2006 issue of tamil monthly 'kalaimagal' in which it has been mentioned that implementation of VAT in t.nadu from jan2007 could result in annual revenue loss of Rs.3,500 crores to t.nadu state govt. will the centre compensate this loss?or will state govt. impose new taxes on the people or increase old taxes? the dmk chiefminister of t.nadu has not taken traders into confidence and explained them the implications of VAT. that is why traders, people in t.nadu are strongly protesting VAT. protests of these scale were not seen in many other states which have switched to VAT.

There are reports about sexual escapades of some bishops in t.nadu. there are news reports also about how many girls and boys have been sexually harassed and tortured in some christian schools. however,t.nadu govt. has not taken any tangible action- may be due to fear that the bishops and churches who run these schools may approach sonia maina gandhi. and without the support of the sonia maina-bishop combine DMK govt. could be in trouble. Suganya ,a girl student has been found dead under mysterous circumstances in a school in omalur, salem, run by a church. The police have not acted swiftly. It is easy to pay a few lakhs rupees as compensation to suganya's family, but is it enough? is it not necessary for the DMK govt. to bring culprits to book? its easy to say 'May suganya rest in peace' . but suganya will rest in peace only if DMK T.nadu govt. punishes the culprits and ensures that these crimes are not repeated.

Yes, unfortunately. And there's nothing unkind about it, because 'bastardized' isn't at all vulgar. It's just a term I am employing to highlight the fact that Indians are 'born' of different types of races, thanks to repeated invasions and their consequences. This is historically true.
But it can also be observed in the immediate present, in which case we often find Indians swinging between extremes, thereby reinforcing the aforementioned views. Indians of modern India have nothing in common with the ancients, nor are they westernized enough to be considered 'western', and they most certainly aren't Islamized even though most of them are obedient dhimmis of Islam. :thumb:
It this isn't strange, I do not know what is. If these abnormal ideas and actions performed by modern-day Indians aren't indicative of centuries of bastardization, then I am not sure how I can convince you. Every action in the present must be related to the past, for we are children of the past. Yesterday shapes today, and today the morrow. Hence, my view that Indians are an abnormal, bastardzed race merits serious consideration.:thumb: It's in this context I am using the term, and I honestly don't see it as unnecessary or unkind. I am an American of Indian descent but I do not subscribe to Mr. Bush's policies; in my mind, he is still an 'accidental' president. There are millions of Americans (as well as millions of Indians) who do not agree with Mr.Bush, except maybe the IT industry because Bush has sent all the outsourcing jobs over to India.
Sorry, but I don't see how that's relevant to any of this. One of the posters had praised Bush as if he were an angel of mercy which, in turn, was corrected by another poster. So the question boils down to India's interests, rather than how Americans feel about Bush or whoever.
Whatever we do, we must do it in India's national interests. This pragmatic attitude is missing in most Indians, or would you find them cursing a dead man who was India-friendly for the most part? Or, would you find them singing praises of USA, which has been a pain in India's you-know-what? All this has to be corrected. India must at least recognize who its friends and foes are.

May I know why you call Kamalahasan as Kamalahasa & K.Balachander as K.Balachandran? In 1973 K.Balachander released a movie entitled "ARANGETRAM" in which he showed the daughter of a poor Brahmin purohit as indulging in prostitution & the producer of that film was none other than a DMK MLA Rama.Arangannal!!! At that time M.K. was the C.M. and the anti-Brahmin movement was at its height then. This was nothing but "KULADROHAM".
In 1980, Sujatha started writing a novel in "Kumudam" in which he described the br****s of a Nadar dame in a vulgar manner & this infuriated the Nadars who burnt copies of "Kumudam" at Luz Corner, Madras. The publishers of Kumudam had to apologise to the Nadar community & the novel was stopped. Fortunately for Sujatha, he was living in Bangalore then.
As for Kamalahasan, he suffers from an inferiority complex. He is ashamed of being a Brahmin. In a TV interview he said,"En appan oru paappaan, en amma oru paappaathi. SIR - You would have heard dialogues like 'my friend's mother is like mother for me also!" , 'my friend's father is like father for me too!", 'my friend's brother is like brother to me!' and 'my friend's sister is like sister to me also!'. but will anyone say 'my friend's wife is like wife to me also!"?? there were and are many ugly rumours about the kamalahaasa.(mostly floated by rajinikant fans) that he is an eunuch, that k.balachandran is his actual father etc. i dont want to mention or discuss about these things because it will be below dignity and standards of our site. moreover these are all rumours anyway. ironically in the year 2000, there were many posters in many parts of chennai abusing k.balachandran in the cheapest way. few rajini fans whom i met felt that it should be the kamalahaasa (both kamalahaasa and k.balachandran were opposing each other bitterly at that time) who was behind these posters!

SIR- Apologists of islam never tire of saying that 'islam is a religion where there is no discrimination' if then why are there so many sub sects in muslim religion like - shias, sunnis, ansaris, rowthars, etc., and why are there violent murderous clashes between these various sects? after all the god for all these sects is one and only one-allah. then why are they abusing and attacking each other? in brahminism not only are there 2 sects- but even the gods for these sects differ- siva for saivism and vishnu for vaishanavism. so differences between followers of two different gods is natural. but even in brahminism there have not been murderous clashes of the scale witnessed in muslim religion. it is strange to see followers worshipping the same god clashing in such a violent manner!!

SIR - For past several years under aiadmk rule of Ms. jayalalitha, holidays for new year on jan.1 was abolished. public holiday for pongal was also reduced to 1 day from 3 days. but dmk chiefminister kalaignaa has suddenly announced reversion of 3days holidays for pongal! jan.1 was also declared a public holiday though new year is not a religious festival! so govt. offices will be closed for 3 days from jan.15 to jan17! apart from this sundays and even saturdays are regular holidays for most of the offices! of course there are possibiities of many leaves for govt. servants(?) like casual leave, sick leave, earned leave, training, on duty, permission etc., govt. employees get more salary than private employees, but work less! it seems the days govt.employees will be on leave/holiday will be more than the days they will be attending office! the kalaignaa has pandered to the powerful vote bank of these government employees and sacrificed public interests!

DMK chiefminister kalaignaa has withdrawn his own order on reduction of cost of cinema tickets. the reduction could have led to loss of profits for multiplexes , distributors and producers, since fall in prices means fall in collections also. there were reports of inudstrial unrest in the tamil film world. the dmk chiefminister has withdrawn his own order in panic.!
from 1949 to 1962, dmk was threatening to form a separate land for dravidians called 'dravida nadu' but in 1962, after china war, the jawaharlal nehru govt. introduced a law which threatened to ban any outfit which professes seccessionism. immediately, the dmk withdrew 'dravida nadu' in panic!
in 1970s and 1999, the dmk govt. introduced an order threatening to impose tamil as medium of instruction in all schools. there was justifiable opposition to this from students and many others. immediately, the dmk withdrew the order in panic!
in 2000, the dmk introduced another order which threatened to cancel driving licences of auto drivers who caused more than 2 accidents. there was strong opposition to this proposal from communist union auto drivers. immediately, the dmk govt. withdrew in panic!
thus, announcing something suddenly and withdrawing under panic if there is vigorous opposition to the proposal is not new to the kalaignaa. i have no sympathy for rulers who withdraw their own ideas like this under pressure. rulers should always think, discuss at all necessary levels before bringing a new order. if there is widespread opposition, then you can postpone the order. but withdrawing your own order leds to you cutting a sorry figure in public. people expect govts. to show more spine in dealing with pressure.

IN recent issue of kalki, famous television journalist, karan thapar has said that dmk chief minister kalaignaa is not fluent and spontaneous in english! thapar says the dmk chiefminister reads out from a prepared speech whenever he speaks in english. i dont think not knowing english is a handicap about which we should be ashamed of . that is the only comment i will make onthis issue.

Brahmins Vs Christians!
SIR- the worst ever example of untouchability was in southafrica where blacks were treated worser than animals by whites. ironically both these blacks and whites belonged to same religion - and the god for both of them are the same - jesus christ! is it not surprising that persons worshipping same god are hating each other so much??? in india, the gods for brahmins and non brahmins are different.so these two quarelling and clashing is not at all surprising. but for whites christians to treat black chrisitians as untouchables inspite of having COMMON god is shocking!!

SIR - I do not think there is any point in blaming female filmskin sellers like kamalahaaasa, k.balachandran, manirathinan, sujathaa, crazy mohan etc. beyond a limit. because it is the censors who give permission to these quislings against established rules and regulations who should really shoulder the blame. had the censor shown the masculanity to refuse certification to the porn pictures of these skin sellers these fellows would never have become famous.i think we must target the censors rather than these quislings!

disagree on different gods for brahmins & non-brahmins
I disagree on the 'theory' that brahmins and non-brahmins have 'different' gods. I believe in hinduism god is nothing but manifestation of how each individual relates & identifies himself to god. instead of saying only this form is god, hinduism encourage s by saying that this form is also god. non-brahmins have everything in common with brahmins as far as hindu value system is concerned. they differ only on account of their food habits and worshipping methods. but to say 'their gods' are different will alienate them completely and we cannot prevent them from falling into the lap of evangelists. to protect hinduism need is to find similarities rather than differences.

I disagree on this. Its not a necessary qualification of CM. He can get many fluent speakers on his behalf.But its a disadvantage to him.
What he shud be ashamed of is , the education given to Dayanidhi is not given to other tamil people. He is playing petty politics on it.All people have to realise and raise their voice on education policies

IN recent issue of kalki, famous television journalist, karan thapar has said that dmk chief minister kalaignaa is not fluent and spontaneous in english! thapar says the dmk chiefminister reads out from a prepared speech whenever he speaks in english. i dont think not knowing english is a handicap about which we should be ashamed of . that is the only comment i will make onthis issue.
Different Gods For Brahmins & Non Brahmins
SIR - Hariharan says gods for brahmins and nonbrahmins are not different. hari- you are missing thepoint here. leave non brahmins, as paramacharya has said in the book 'deivathin kural' even for brahmins there are two different gods - siva for saiva brahmins and vishnu for vaishnava brahmins! the customs, practices of worship in these two temples are different from each other! of course, you can find similarities even between brahmins and muslims! at the same time you must appreciate the differences between various religions, because if you do not , you tend to impose the practices of one religion on another. the dmk chiefminister of t.nadu,. who calls himself as kalaignaa, committed this foolishness by imposing tamil in brahmin temples. as far as i know, all the gods- the creator brahma, the custodian vishnu and the destroyer siva - are all brahmins. most of the non brahmin gods like rama and krishna are avtaars of brahmin god vishnu, lord rama worshipped lord shiva in rameswaram. i am amused to see non brahmin followers of the kalaignaa , worship god, but at the same time oppose brahmins! i don't think there can be any hinduism without brahmins for the simple reason that all the top three - brahma, vishnu and siva are brahmins. if you believe in hinduism you must also believe in brahminism.there is no point in loathing brahmins and at the same time worshipping brahmin gods, as the followers(?) of the kalaignaa are doing. of course people will now say after reading this 'please do not give caste identity for gods!" but just like mahaveera is jain god, gurunanak is sikh god, there are brahmin gods also! of course there are many non brahmin gods e.g.many ammans! many brahmins including myself, worship amman goddesses with fervent devotion and respect. so there is nothing wrong in brahmins and non brahmins worshipping gods of each other. but the individuality of the brahmin religion should not be tampered with. even among brahmins, the distinctness of siva worshippers and vishnu worshippers should be respected. of course, christian evangelists and their stooges like the kalaignaa have expolited and will continue to exploit the differences between bramin gods & differences between brahmins and non brahmins. but this should not deter us from speaking the truth. remember satyamevajayathe! truth will truimph- even if not now, one day!!

Loquacious Kalaignaa Defecates Filth On Lord Vishnu!
SIR-the dmk chief minister of t.nadu, kalaignaa, is at it again! he has pounced on Lord vishnu like a predator! under rational intoxication,the kalaignaa has heaped scorn on lord vishnu for defeating king mahabali.(as far as i know, scriptures say that lord vishnu performed a leela to grant moksha to king mahabali). but the irony here is that, many temples propagating greatness of lord vishnu are controlled by the t.nadu govt. itself! so the kalaignaa fumes venom on lord vishnu on one hand, and on the other hand controls the money which comes from the temples which propagate vaishnavism!! it seems for the kalaignaa, vishnu is evil, but the money which comes from vishnu temples is holy!!!
some more examples of double role of Dr.Kalaignaa:
1. controlling Lord ranganathar temple in srirangam on one hand, and allowing statue of the periar to be erected in front of same ranganathar temple on other hand!
2. opening liquor shops and selling alcohol on one hand and propagating evils of alchohol on other hand!
now you all should have understood why our forefathers banned non brahmins from reading vedas and other brahmin scriptures. because many non brahmins were spreading wrong and adverse opinions about these scriptures. the main reason was most non brahmins like the dr.kalaignaa, misunderstood the legends and scriptures.so it was decided to restrict propagation of vedas and other holy scriputures between brahmins itself. since brahmins could not get corrupted by reading scriptures any way, there was no problem. had this habit persisted,may be the dr. kalaignaa would never have known about king mahabali and this comment would not at all have been there!! it is a welcome fact for people to know about all religions, but spreading of these types of frivolous and false notions is condemnable.

Idols, Islam And Kalaignaa!
SIR - Apoligists of islam eulogise islam as a 'rational' religion since islam bans idol worship. but the same islam, insists that mosques should be built in a particular form and shape only! is this not a form of idol worship? moreover why the insistence that you should turn towards a particular direction and pray to god? is not this insistence on form, shape and direction a way of idol worship? will apologists of islam like Dr. KALAIGNAA answer??

SIR - vaiko.gopalsamy, friend turned foe of dmk chiefminister of t.nadu Dr. Kalaignaa, had alleged that Dr. Kalaignaa was trying to 'break' his 'party' misuing his official position as chiefminister! Dr. Kalignaa has filed a case against the gopalsamy. but instead of filing a case on his own, or on behalf of his party, Dr. Kalignaa has filed the case as a chiefminister on behalf of t.nadu govt.! so tax payers money is to be used to fight this case against the gopalsamy! surprisingly a case has been filed even against a newsaper which had published vaiko.gopalsamy's allegations! this is atrocious! a chiefminister. who calls himself as friends of journalists filing a case against a newspaper for such a trivial matter! i think time of courts and tax payers money only is going to be wasted on these types of battles! of course, this does not mean that i am supporting the vitroilic vaiko.gopalsamy!!
