Controlling nature’s fury​

During October every year, it is a known fact that the North East Monsoon will set in Tamil Nadu, resulting in inundation I mean a flood situation and more particularly Chennai being a coastal city with lot of water bodies like lakes, rivers, etc, there will be a threat of flood situation.​

The Govt. of India, on their part, through the meteorological will keep the public updated with the forecast and issue red alert, etc​

The State Government, on their part, will liaise with the Mayors of Corporations and collectors of every district, monitor closely the level of water in every lake, dams and other water bodies.​

Fire Service Department will be made alert for rescue and relief measures.​

Boats will be kept ready with adequate diesel and the list of trained volunteers in swimming and rescue will be made alert and attentive.​

The Government will monitor the situation and the Health Sector will be made to meet the challenges of attending flood situation and treating the affected general public. Necessary medicines will be to arranged in stock well in advance.​

There is lot about this exercise of meeting the challenges of natural calamity every year.​

When there is water scarcity, public were requested to pray rain God ‘VARUNA’ Bagwan for his blessings and for rain water.​

And when the down pour very heavy with a threat of a flood situation, I find lot of WhatsApp messaging trending with few slokas to mitigate the damages caused​

Despite planning well in advance, executing the precautionary measures to ensure the challenges of nature is met with minimum damage of human life and property, we come across a situation where there is flood situation with loss of life and property.​

On set of monsoons is a natural thing happens every year.​

Even temples are flooded!!​

Flood situation damages agriculture​

​

The five elements defined as Gods are to protect and save the general public.​

But we do face flood situation every year without any discrimination but with Storms named different, affecting the shore and making the life of human miserable.​

Is spirituality is important in dealing with life’s natural disaster/calamity.​

Can this situation effectively controlled under spirituality…..???​
