Beating and controlling wives ..

My father DID NOT believe in beating anyone - especially his children and grandchildren.

He believed that the suggestion that the child may get beaten works more powerfully than the the actual beating.

He would say that once the child is actually beaten it will lose the fear and say "Oh that kind of beating I take very easily!"

Silence can be more powerful than a thousand worded "gaali" and a firm threat more powerful than beating a person black and blue.

very correct i endorse your statement here, if she puts up then the show goes on otherwise it never gets ahead to more than threatening...sunkan

so putting wife behind - win success

Now I know why the saying goes that Behind every successful man there is a woman cos its not easy for him to turn around and hit her!!!

And behind every unsuccessful man there are 2 women cos he cant hit them both but both the women are busy hitting each other!!!

or may be they join hands and start beating him instead???

[h=3]India Government Proposes Laws For Quicker Divorce[/h]
Source

NEW DELHI, INDIA, March 22, 2012 (Hindustan Times): The government is working to make laws friendlier to help unhappy couples get divorced faster. The government wants changes in the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 and Special Marriage Act of 1954 to provide 'irretrievable breakdown of marriage' as a new ground for parting ways. As of now, a minimum of six and maximum of 18 months of reconciliation or cooling off period is a must even if divorce is sought with mutual consent.

An amendment bill likely to be considered by the union cabinet on Friday proposes to grant courts the power to reduce or waive off the cooling period. "If the court is convinced of breakdown of marriage, divorce could be granted immediately," said a senior government official.

To safeguard the interests of women, however, the amendment bill gives them the right to oppose divorce petitions filed by husbands on grounds of irretrievable breakdown of marriage. The women can argue that the divorce will cause financial hardships and affect their children's future. Men will not have this right if wives seek divorce on the same grounds.

Vrinda Grover, Supreme Court lawyer and specialist on women's issues, said the proposed changes would make seeking divorce less cumbersome while protecting the interests of women.

[h=3]Wedding in India, Divorcing in the US?[/h]
Source

CHENNAI, INDIA, March 19, 2012 (Deccan Chronicle): In a judgment with far-reaching consequences, the Madras High Court (HC) has held that a decree for dissolution of a marriage by a foreign court is not binding in India if a wedding is solemnised in the country under the Hindu Marriage Act.

A division bench comprising justices R. Banumathi and S. Vimala gave the ruling while dismissing an appeal by Sunder against an order of a family court in Chennai declaring a decree of divorce by Superior Court of California not binding on his wife Shyamala.

The couple tied the knot in Vellore district in 1999, but Sunder went to the US within a year and did not communicate with Shyamala after that. In 2000, she received summons from Superior Court of California, which subsequently granted Sunder divorce despite her defense statement.

HC said Superior Court of California was not a court of competent jurisdiction to decide the matrimonial dispute of the appellant/husband married under the Hindu Marriage Act in India.

A HOME MAKER!

The home ma(brea)ker! :smash:

A wife, it has been rightly said,
Is the world’s most underpaid! :mmph:

And also a person most afraid,
As though caught in a police raid!:fear:

Is the house wife cum house maid,
Cum nurse, cum everything unsaid.

For her services she is unpaid,
Neither in kindness is she repaid!

Better to become a barmaid;:pout:
If not the rare, lucky mermaid!

All you get to wear is plaid!
And get in your house inlaid!

The other woman.

The home breaker..
not a wife its rightly said.

is the worlds most overpaid.

also a person most afraid,
had history of police raid.

she is the lover and not a maid,
cum nurse for the male ego better left unsaid.

for her services she is duly paid,
In hot blooded action, instantly repaid.

she used to be a barmaid,
she fishes man and wow what a mermaid!!

she gets to wear all that he paid,
all becos of she was versatile and got laid!!!

Bojyeshu maata, shayaneshu vysya, karyeshu daasi, karneshu mantri, kshamava dharti/dharitri(?) sama dharma yukta kula dharma patni. An ideal wife will make an ideal man. Excess of any one thing will upset the cart! One should deserve an ideal wife or an ideal husband. Hence please enjoy or suffer to be even with the dharma.

god knows...!!!!

There are many reasons why a wife pushes her husband and locks him out of the house..I can think only of two reasons now.

1)She is mad with him cos he was seen with another woman

2)There is another man in the house and she doesn't want hubby dear to get into the house and find out!!!

Note: this is just a general statement and might not be the actual reason in the original case you saw happening near your flat.

Not necessarily!

Surely you know the story on Nalaayini and Kannagi.

Kovalan came back to Kannagi ONLY because he got the boot at

Madhavi's place - once he had become a pauper.

Often GOODNESS is mistaken to be a WEAKNESS or MEEKNESS and

high handed behavior continues...UNABATED!
