Here's why Hindustani is sweeter on the ear

Hindustani music remains the touchstone for voice culture. The typical Hindustani musician has an ex ceptionally close adherence to sruti. His or her manner of rendering is more pleasant to the ear, typically . The Hindustani musicians wow audiences here with their ease of singing, gliding through the octaves.

. He points out how "Vathapi Ganapathim", used to start the concert, touches the topmost note right at the beginning. The voice cannot withstand such a sudden strain, he says.

Tastes differ! I can't listen to a full Hindustani music concert! :nono:

Similarly, I switch off the TV / radio, when the music is an orphan!

Note: Sruthi is mother and Layam is father in Carnatic music.

I also prefer carnatic classical than Hindustani music. In Hindustani, gamakas are less and Janaka ragas are also fewer. If we practice carnatic classical we can learn other types of music easily.
