...The imaginations of the artists have no limits in Carnatic music!
Dear Mrs. RR, I agree, these are some of the most wonderful, exquisite music ever produced. However, I still think, for all the imaginative rendering, these still don't stray outside the parameters set by age old masters.

How many new innovative and original genre these musicians have invented and popularized? Let alone new genre, how many new and creative music have these musicians produced like Bob Dillon or Woodie Guthrie, not to mention the blues, jazz, hip-hop, etc.

Once again, I love carnatic music, this Shankar piece is wonderful, but I want them to venture out and create new and exciting music, not stuck in the same old framework.

Cheers!

Dear Prof. Sir,

Actually, it was Sri. 'Ariyakkudi' RAmAnuja Iyengar, who set the pattern of a carnatic concert. Till then, artists were

singing whatever they liked in any order! We are paying respect to the great man and keeping the pattern that he

has set. We can never go out of this framework, if it has to be a classical carnatic concert. Now listen to this
'vAthApi ganapathim' in salwar suit / jeans and T'shirt... I leave it to your imagination! :decision:

Dr. K. J. Yesudas is a wonder man.... He has excelled in classical music and in film music with dexterity!

Here is his master piece, which he sings invariably in all his concerts. And he is the first artist to keep his

laptop for referring to the lyrics of his songs during his concerts!!
