The Magic of Spiritual Energy -2

Behind every impossible dream,
There may stand many forces — talent, hard work, luck, destiny.
But above them all stands one silent superpower:
The blessings of a mother.
The force that can turn desire into destiny.

I want to make sure the world becomes a safer place
There are no criminals who will kill for money or for power
This is the vow I took 5 years back
On this very May 10 that a dharma yudh had to begun

Once a coalition is formed to support a party the parties supporting should not be allowed to withdraw support for the full term. So they have to think twice or thrice before supporting and cannot withdraw support later. Support can be withdrawn only under genuine exceptional cases

Is vice wise?

Virtues like honesty, impartiality, loyalty, empathy etc are grossly undervalued and even ignored as naive. Yes when almost everyone considers pragmatism being considering ones own interests irrespective of concern for others then these classic virtues lose their sheen.

But these people fail to understand that such pragmatism covers up their flaws in the guise of sophistication and shrewdness and cause them live in a make believe world. Real quality life is in honoring others interests and not harming others for furthering our interests. The same token of long term pragmatism dictates that if not anything else. You cannot stab a man in his back and hope to have your back unharmed. That is not pragmatism.

The conscience will also be clear and lifts your quality of life several notches. To fall into vices is easy. It offers immediate pleasure and hides the subsequent pitfalls and dangers. To live a virtuous life takes efforts but the efforts show you a path where you don't have to constantly glance back to ensure there are no dangers. And that peace is worth the efforts.

You may ask what if vice can benefit you even in the long run. Can one commit vice then premised on pragmatism. This is actually more nuanced. Vice benefitting you in the long run means you are fundamentally thinking something right but not able to put it in action. You do not commit vice intentionally but commit in form in support of the hidden virtue.

Lord Krishna is famously known for this in Mahabharata.

Modern world which has institutionalized corruption seemingly defies virtue even in the long run. One can be corrupt as long as he wants provided he sustains using force and power. So is the Krishna analogy wrong?

A person who sustains vice wilfully knows he is wrong. He knows he has pure personal agendas. Even though he may delude himself in believing he is invincible there is always a sword dangling above his head. He may not sense it and may not be punished in his lifetime. But remember moral lessons span beyond what is taught to an individual. It is universal in scope. The world will sooner or later learn the lesson. This way it is even more effective.
