Sankatahara Chaturthi

Greetings All

I've been following instructions obtained via Google (amavedicservices.com/en/blog/sankatahara-chaturthi-vrata-complete-guide) on how to fast on Sankatahara Chaturthi day. Till now the way I've done it is to fast from morning till sunset on the day marked as Sankatahara Chaturthi in the Tamil calendar. However the calendar states the Chaturthi starts and ends at a specific time. This time varies and doesn't always start in the morning so can someone clarify how one can observe this fasting please? Are we meant to start the fast in the morning always and end in the evening as per the website linked above?

Thanking you in advance.

sir, you have to start fasting in the morning and end in the evening as per the website ama vedic services. During sun set the chathurthi thithi must be there. that is the calculation for fasting and puja. you may also see in the www. drik panchang.com .

Namaskarams,

The sankatahara Chathurthi Pooja is to be performed in the evening. So main requirement is that the chathurthi thithi should be there in the evening. The thithi should be there past 8.30. Because your fast comes to an end after seeing the chathurthi moon. On the chathurthi day, the moon rising time, usually, would be 8.30 PM to 9 PM. So if chathurthi thithi comes in the evening, you can start the fasting during the day and end the fasting after seeing the chathurthi moon.
