SANKASHTI CHATURTHI OR GANESH SANKATAHARA CHATHURTHI
Sankashti Chaturthi, or Ganesh Sankatahara Chaturti, is a monthly fasting dedicated to Hindu God Ganesh(Elephant Head God).
He is the elder son of Lord Shiva and the remover of all obstacles.
Lord Ganesha, also worshipped in the names of Ganesa, Ganesh, Ganapati, Ganapathy, Vinayakar, and Pillaiyar, is one of the well-known and simple to worship deities in our Hindu pantheon.
You may find the images of Lord Ganesha everywhere in India i.e. temples, river banks, underneath trees and mountain tops.
Ganapathyam is the religion, in which Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the manifestation of the formless god or Nirguna Bhramhan. Ganapathyam is one among the Shanmathas established by Adi Sanakacharyar.
The elephant headed god is widely recognised as the remover of obstacles and more generally as Lord of Commencement, Lord of Wisdom and Intellect and Lord of Arts.
He is usually honoured before commencing anything. He has multiple iconographical formats. His icon can formed simply from a handful of turmeric paste or cow dung.
His Moola Mantra is “Om Sri Ganeshaya Namah”. The purana and other scriptures dedicated to Lord Ganesha include the Ganesha Purana, the Mudgala Purana, and the Ganapati Atharvashirsa.

Sankashta Chaturti day the day falls on the fourth day during the waning phase of moon or Krishna Paksha in a Hindu lunar month. The day is known as Sankatahara Chaturthi in South India.
The importance and the holiness of Sankashta Chaturthi Vrata was explained by Lord Krishna to Yudhishtira, the eldest of the Pandavas. It is also found in the Narasimha Purana and Bhavishaya Purana.
Observing Ganesh Sankashta Chaturthi is said to bring wealth, peace, happiness and fulfilment of desires.
Fasting is observed by Ganesh devotees on the day. The fast begins at sunrise and ends after evening puja or after sighting of the moon. Lord Ganesha Temples conduct special pujas on the day.
ASTROLOGICAL REMEDY:
If a person passing through the KETHU DASA(major period) in their own birth chart, They should worship Lord Ganesh on Sankashta Chaturthi or Sankatahara Chaturti. This would nullify the malefic effect of Planet Kethu.
