Raghy Ji
The song is from the movie " Nenjil Oru Aalayam " [ meant to be remade in Hindi as " Dil Ek Mandir " -
never got made - some legal issues ]
Actors - Kalyan Kumar [ Doctor ], Devika [ Patient's wife ] & Muthuraman [ Patient - also his debut film ]
Story Theme : Devika is compelled to take her husband [ Muthuraman ] to Kalyan Kumar [ Doctor ] for
some major complication. Muthuraman then comes to know that his wife and the Doc already know each other,
have great affection for each other and had once even thought of getting married.
Twist of circumstances - they [ Dr & Devika ] get separated. She again meets the Dr years later - this time as
the wife of Muthuraman who has a terrible medical complication that only Kalyan Kumar is capable of handling.
Song situation : While he is himself in physical agony due to the ailment, and having got to know about his
wife's pre-marital affection/attraction, Muthuraman tries to put her mind at ease.
[I really am no Master of languages - still will try my hand at translating it for you - please forgive errors.]
If all one's thoughts were to manifest as reality, then there is no God!
If one were to keep thinking of the past, then there will never be peace of mind!
A concluded story does not continue in God’s script
A continued story does not end, in a man’s house [ read mind ]
Thousands of thoughts may arise in a mind with thousand entry points
Who enters and who exits, one never gets noticed
If just one inhabits inside, there is no problem
While the one stays, if the other enters, there will be never be peace of mind
Where does life begin and , where and how does it end (?),
No one is aware that this is the path, this is the journey
The paths keep meandering, changing and finally the journey ends
if one can reconcile the meanderings/changes, then one becomes sober.
As will most translations, the essence I am sure, is lost - I hope that I haven't done a shoddy job.
Yay Yem
