Mani Shanker Iyer's Comment on Brahmins Reservation in TN

Dear Praveen,
There is no harm or politics in having a quota for brahmins who are economically backward. Infact, it is better than quotas for SC,ST,OBC & MBC being grabbed by those who can afford economically and who are unworthy of the same. In fact, the entire quota system is to be done away with and people belonging to socially backward should be properly trained/educated vigorously so that they are able to face the competition and those economically backward people should be waived off the fees, provided books, etc.

For the first time I like Mani Shankar Iyer for his views. He is correct, Brahmins are benefited by the Reservation scheme introduced in Tamil Nadu. Poor of the poorest in the community came-up in life by their own perseverance, and hard work. Let no one should clamour for reservation for Brahmins. Instead rich in the community should come forward and help the deserving poor in what ever way possible.

Regards,
Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

What is Mani Shankar Iyer now; he holds no position, shunted out of every ministry. He sounds right, but his only qualification is he studied in Doon and a friend of Rajiv Gandhi. No body in Congress is qualified or eligible to talk about minorities or communalisim as they are the forefathers of them.

For Mani Shankar Iyer, his tongue is his enemy. His ill timed cantankerous comments gather more
adversaries for him. Unfortunately all Congress spokespersons develop this tendency of using intemperate language when they are cornered in discussions.

The reservation, which is there & it seems will remain for a long time as the politicians will rake up & to their benefit. But one thing is sure,,, it has benefitted the Brahmin community to come out of the shell & venture to some places. Otherwise, I think Brahmins would not have ventured to foreign lands so much & has come out so much successfully there, & many have settled down for generations there. Since in Many foreign countries Like U.S., U.K. & many european it is your capability & knowledge, & no reservation there!~!~!.. Hence we have taken a right path to go out,& make the world to see for themselves the capability of the Brahmins,, which many have acknowledged/ So let us leave it at it... Let some good hearted well to do brahmins, take steps to bring our community some good trainings & opportunities , ( as is being done by otehr communities) try to uplift our community to the best we can.. Only thing we have to shed is not to pull our own legs, & leave out jealousy for the cause of ou community, & do it for betterment of our community, who are there...still need to be brought to a decent living...
