In a fit of rage over a scratch on car, this Kerala doctor put a patient’s life in danger
A woman doctor from the Kollam district government hospital was arrested for seizing an ambulance.
A woman doctor from the Kollam district government hospital was arrested for seizing an ambulance that was about to leave to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College hospital with a patient who had suffered from a cardiac arrest.
The ambulance with the patient had come from Kottarakkara to the Kollam district hospital. The doctors then referred the patient to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. When they were about to leave, the doctor took away the key of the vehicle alleging that the ambulance had caused a scratch on her luxury car.
Following the chaos, relatives of the patient had to wait 30 minutes to get a new ambulance and go to Thiruvananthapuram.
“I have no idea when the ambulance brushed against her car. We all were inside the hospital and doctors asked us to take the patient to the medical college immediately. When we came out the keys were not there in the ambulance. As we were rushing inside I had not taken the key. Then somebody told us that a woman had been screaming when we went inside alleging that her car had been damaged,” the ambulance driver Ratheesh told The News Minute.
“The security guard told us later that the lady doctor had taken the key and given it to the traffic police station and asked us to collect it from there. She told police that we intentionally damaged her car, but why should we do that? We don’t even know her, we were rushing to the hospital,” the driver added.
